Wissenland could be the start of something or just nice to know, but my real hopes are on some very specific library maybe having taken some damage so that an encounter there could happen

Kinda hard to have exact plans without a timetable on when it'll happen.
I could imagine the thread committing an action or two to rustling up wizards or mercenaries for it, and I would imagine that there will be interest in joining in for the fighting itself when that kicks off, depending on what's going on.
I dont think theres anything definite right now. We dont even have a timetable for when this whole thing is gonna start. The idea for the social is to find out about when, where exactly, what, why and how they are going to do something and then we can think about what we could do to help. As long as this thing isnt in the very far future, its very likely we wont be able to personally go and help, but we could, depending on the dwarven stance on manling involvement, help them by securing supplies and supply lines, mercenaries and maybe even limited military support. Basically play the middleman to imperial interests and actors.
Thing is, without reliable intel we dont even know if we can help or if it would be appreciated.

Personally I can't wait for Eike to take up the apprentice position, if only because it will result in having a fresh duckling following Mathilde around as she does her various projects and because it adds another perspective to Mathilde's antics.
Also because I want to have a scene where Mathilde introduces Eike to the We Librarians.

I want to see Eike bravely try to pull off the Grey Wizard Poker Face as Mathilde introduces her to all the crazy stuff we've been up.

I love the idea of Mathilde very elaborately telling Eike of the dangers of miscasting over a month of trying to force the life-juice of a miscast-brought Apparition into the form of a power stone.

How clan'ish and…territorial? (I don't think that's the right word but I don't know what is.) are the elves in DL's compared to WRFP? Who tend towards being of the mind that everyone but my clan, friends, and I guess this group of smelly humans that I tolerate, but don't tell them, can go die in a fire for all I care.
And is it to the level of different to the human average that mathy might think it's a elven instincts and minds at play rather then just cultural. Like dwarfs with grudges and people wide perfectionism.
Or is it only at the level that Mathy could totally see developing in a human nation?
Just wondering because I remember the 'saying' 'the group most fendup with elves are other elves.' And your showing some of how dwarfs do have some nature differences to humans, not just nurture.
Maybe they really are a herd of zebra vs human/dwarfs herd of horses.
Civilisation based on inherent social values vs logical and convenient cooptation between groups of family values….
