That is; the Halflings probably have tons of experience writing cookbooks, right?

Why not try drawing on that experience?

Sure, it'd mean adding another sub-author or contributor. A Halfling who knows how to write good cookbooks. Buuut. It would result in a higher quality book. It'd feel more professional. Rather than an amateur's attempt to write how to cook all this stuff up.

We did get an agreement with the Cult of Quinsberry which means that LK8P has the rights to a copy of probably just about every halfling cookbook ever published...

Hm, so we really should get to know Tochter better, Eike is going to pass regardless of my opinion (so I won't bother having one), and I'd like to look into the Vlag and Wissenland things as a personal preference. Everything else is up in the air for me right now.

What about going to the Halflings?

That would probably be part of what Mathilde does if revision is chosen.

No brainer for me, we need the favor for thr gigaflex.

[X] Magister Tochter Grunfeld
Get to know Tochter Grunfeld, ritualist, traditionalist, and veteran of the Sylvanian Campaign.

Time to get to know her, don't want to put that off any longer.

[X] Wissenland
Rumours of some sort of earthquake having struck Nuln are circulating.

I'd like to know more about other things in the Empire so it's actually more of a toss up between this and Sylvania for me. I picked Wissenland because it seems to be more pressing plus I need fodder for under-Nuln omake.

[X] Kasmir
See how his partnership with the Council of Manhorak has been going.
[X] Eike
Hold some sort of celebration for her upcoming graduation out of Junior Apprentice.

Checking in with Kasmir after bookmining would be nice, and of course giving Eike a proper welcome would be great.

She's the only one of the Project we haven't spoken with, at this point.
[ ] Gretel
I'm a sucker for all things Border Princes, and Mathilde noticed that the region was oddly populous when she checked on the region's Waystones. If Sonnental's meddling is a factor in why the Border Princes have never unified even superficially, I'm curious if we'll see the region stabilize more readily as a long term consequence of destroying the conspiracy way back when.
[ ] Wissenland
Underground trouble at the place where we were wanted as an anti-Skaven spymaster. Also, apparently there was some prophecy by some Celestial?
[ ] Karak Vlag
My money's on a Runelord who'd been vocal against Karag Dum way back when.
[ ] Eike
Let's get a feel for the sort of person she's become before her apprenticeship gets into full swing.

My thinking for avoiding revision is simply that we've got a lot of paper topics to get through and the marginal value of a Serenity action spent on improving the book is probably around 3 CF -- I think an average roll would get our delivery to Compelling from its current Impenetrable. I think Coins of Nehekhara's Fifth Dynasty, by contrast for a paper we could write with the same action, is probably worth 4-5 CF with an average roll. It just seems better to shrug and tackle a new paper.

Perfect is the enemy of good, especially when we're trying to gain enough CF for the gigaflex.

It's less about CF efficiency and more about pride in our own work, as well as making sure that our discoveries are actually used.

It's time to use the great power of Troll-int (like HumInt or Signal Intelligence, except via Trolling). What's the best way to tempt somebody to give you help on the internet? You post a just-slightly-off statement on social media, and thus summon forth a deluge of people from the ether willing and eager to correct you.
That would probably be part of what Mathilde does if revision is chosen.
Ha, knew it.

So anyway, here's my plan; we call over some librarians or writers or cooks from K8P or the Cult of Quinsberry over, and we threaten to publish the worst cookbook ever, of all time, if they do not help us correct it into a good cookbook! ;)

Yeah, but the Waaaghsoak Mushrooms are actually useful to Wizards whereas the Nehekharan coins would be... well, useful to somebody, and would be a contribution to archaeology, but.

Well. Magic Mushrooms would actually be useful to Wizard journeymen and such. They would be of actual and tangible use. They could help save lives. But if we publish the knowledge with a shitty book roll, then we might not wind up actually helping the Colleges of Magic at all. Because who'd be willing to wade through an impenetrable book for useful insights then?

I don't mind spending another serenity action on revising, because the mushrooms have a lot of potential to have a major effect, but not if nobody can understand how they can be used.
Currently the only paper we have I would prioritize over it is AV, but that still has more research to go.

So I think we have to find Ithilmar items first than buy them all out at once. Maybe take out a loan or get investors. It is something to consider because while gold is nice and I would like to make a profit we can also use it to buy support. Because I figure the elves would not be against bribery, or lobbying, or gifts, whatever you want to call it.

Yeah, as boring and unglamorous as it might be, the real draw of this project was always that it could improve Journeyman survivability by giving them a stable source of magical strength. That goal is mostly ruined by this disaster, accessibility is far more important here than it would be for an academic paper intended for Magisters, so it is worth the extra Serenity turn. Besides, as it has been pointed out, it's a decent RoI of College Favor for one turn of Serenity to do this. The day of the Octo Orb Slam Dunk draws closer.

You hope that the Vampire has at least a few Grudges to its name, as a strike against the Strigoi bloodline in the abstract might be considered by some to have been a poor reason for the journey to have been made.

They might feel a bit underwhelmed for now, but I think that's only because they don't/can't fully understand that they're in the thread's Dalaz Kron, and by extension Mathilde's.

Zhufbar rescued Mathilde + Abelhelm, brought down Castle Drakenhof, built Steam Wagons for the Northern Expedition, and now enabled our bookmining with their exceptionally-rolling Ironbreakers.

I suspect that if they ever display a need for aid or a Mathildean intervention of some kind, the thread will descend on the problem like the blazing fist of an angry avenging God.

Putting the book aside... Does anyone have any wild guesses on who may be initiating the external social action? I somehow don't think Genghis Mathilde has fully impressed Hatalath enough for him to see her as a peer.

I've also been trying to rack my brains as to how to handle next turn's actions but there's just too many options to really know. What are people's priorities, be it in the personal or Waystones? Because right now my thoughts are...

-Start learning High Nehekharan
-Apply power stone creation methods to AV
-And then any combination of 3 Waystone actions, probably tributary-making, leyline-rivers-exploring, maybe mapping out more places? I really don't know, I dont trust any plan I make to cover everything.

But I can't see any plan this upcoming turn being able to fit Web-Mat. Only on Turn 41 I can, because we'd have Overwork available without penalty.

we need to maximize our CF gain. revising does not do that. but chron makes a really good point. making this largely inaccessible defeats the vast majority of the benefit of this project.

need that CF

rest are kinda whatevers for me.

Would vote for this even if there was no chance of more CF. This book could be incredibly useful to the colleges, but first it needs to actually be readable.

I want to tug on the Wissenland plot thread because I have a vague, unformed hope that it somehow leads to us becoming besties with the Dark Lady.
