Remember how super thrilled Baba Brzeginias was by the idea of multidisciplinary scrutiny? That was someone from the same country, with a common trusted acquaintance.

As for the Ice Witches, I'm disappointed by the part where they are happy to send someone to marry the Tsarevich for politics but couldn't be bothered to try and seduce Mathilde after she pulled an entire Karak out of the Aethyr.

Going to Kislev would allow us to find out what happened to the flow of Winds at the source, or follow it downstream instead of wandering randomly in the wild.

Secondly, as others already mentioned, this might not be Drycha alone but a Warhost on top, in which case some kind of mobilisation would be needed and regimented armies might not be very welcoming to mercenary forces that just happen to turn up on their own initiative without approval from the top.

Thirdly, if it turns into an absolute mess, without a clear indication that Mathilde being present was actually beneficial, and Boris later learns that we got involved without his approval, he might not be all that happy about it.

Yes, and if the ice witches want back into any sort of power they would be ready to make deals. Like, that was Boris whole plan. He probably will scale down his commitment but he has the ultimate power in Kislev.
The ice witches have their own magic agenda, Boris does not. Which makes him already more trustworthy then them in this aspect.

I mean sure it's warhost, but that does not mean the locals will thank us for lighting the Beacons of Gondor in their place. If they feel they need it they have the means to call in official help and do not need a foreigner do do so

I can't help but giggle a bit at his name.

Boney likely couldn't have known, but while loza can mean several different things (including bloodline, vine, etc.), perhaps the most frequent use of the word would be a shortened name for a particular kind of hard liquor made out of grapes. At least in Southern Slavic languages.

And so, Captain Loza sounds to me something akin to how, let's say, Captain Scotch would sound to Anglo-Saxons (or Capitano Grappa to Italians would be a more precise comparison).

Boris was very confidient he could get us Hag Witches, it's actually the Ice Witches that are more difficult for him, since he indicated he'll need to make some concessions to them, up to maybe marrying an Ice Witch.:

Honestly, I'm fine with any option winning, but I've been convinced that Boris is a better choice than the Ice Witches, and I'm intrigued by the Hags.

I think there's also the Kislevite power balance to be considered: Do we want to strengthen the Ice Witches or Boris? But I don't know enough about Kislev politics to have a clear opinion on that

Boris was also a man trying to sell us on moving the Project in Kiselv, not saying he was lying exactly, or that he would not do it if he bent his full political power on the matter, but he was I think shading the truth an I do not think we would get his full political power with this as opposed to the Project in Kiselv.
 
@Boney This was a great and funny update with a lot of personality. You managed to make a border inspection fun. Thank you very much for your word wizardry.

I regret to inform you there is no megapost for this update. I've been keeping up a streak for every single update for.... a while. Had to be broken at some point. At least it's on a short update.

Because it was the gray college? Was it actually fake and that's the punchline?


Also, is Boney British or adjacent? He spells using the UK version a lot "favour", "colour", and others.

I'm not talking about starting the official response, I'm saying that if there is an official response already in play, Boris could directly slot us in there while Ice Witches would probably be just an intermediary.

Going to the Ice Witches sounds to me more like Gandalf trying to skip Theoden, just picking up Eowyn and leaving to 2v9 the Nazghuls. Who needs calv anyways? He would probably just have magicked out some bullshit like Eagles instead.
