Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
So, in other news: to feed my personal fascination with the types of food Mathy would be eating, and the polis theme that Boeny has gone with for the Enoir.

I give you: Kykeon

the Greeks most famous healing potion/sports drink/ritual sacrament/party smasher.

Champion Kadoh probably downs the stuff (or the magic elf version) like a modern bodybuilder downs whey powder shakes.

Mathy is in for a rough time with this one.

Given as the voting has mostly settled again, but a decent number of people seem unhappy with the result - specifically with the fact that we're not setting the foundation this time around - I figured I'd make a plan that fixes that gripe.

It involves an odd compromise: Max will be going with Mathilde to investigate Alric, thereby slotting that into the three WEB-MAT actions. Max has no reasons not to be useable for this - he lacks Johann's metallic nature, and Egrimm's personal bias - and while he's not exactly a perfect field agent he is very good at crunching through any information we manage to gather to look for irregularities, such as time that Alric isn't accounted for, and getting a little investigative experience won't do him any harm.

I'm obviously unwilling to give up windherding, and it seems a significant portion of people want to ensure everyone has a go on WEB-MAT this turn anyway, so this plan drops the ritual training.

And I think if we're laying foundations, people want the Gambler boost on it, so this plan also drops the Night Stalker boost for spying on Alric.

[X] Plan Compromise With Founding - Quinsberry
-[X] WEB-MAT: Investigate Alric with one or more members of WEB-MAT (Max)
-[X] EGRIMM: Attempt a Windherder enchantment with Egrimm
--[X] Shadowsteed & Clarity, allowing the user to ride all night without sleep
-[X] WEB-MAT: Investigate Gryphon Wood with one or more members of WEB-MAT (JOHANN)
-[x] Personally scrutinize a Waystone as thoroughly as you possibly can.
-[X] Attempt to bring a Major House or Ward into the Waystone Project (Frost)
-[X] Lay the foundations: work with the current members of WEB-MAT and the Waystone Project to build a single unified framework for understanding the Waystones.
--[X] Gambler
-[X] EIC: Try to uncover what's going on in Gryphon's Wood.
-[X] LIBRARY: Seek an agreement with a Cult to have access to their libraries (Quinsberry)
-[X] SERENITY: Write a paper: Observations of Johann's prosthetic arm (FRESH)
-[X] COIN: The Gambler, on Lay the Foundations

[X] Plan Compromise With Founding - Verena

How come the Colleges don't legalise hedge magic?
They do, it's called "join the Colleges".

For legalizing the Hedgewise organizations, Boney's said many times that the Colleges are extremely reluctant to do anything that would seem to be going against the Articles of Magic. And an important part of that is that magic is supposed to work the way Teclis taught, that that's the safe way for a human to use magic.

Let's... No. Stop. Please.

People seem angry and aggressive today and talking about that shit, much less leveraging it in arguments, is bad play.

Please don't.

are we evil for relying on computers and phones full of metals(mostly cobalt) that are probably sourced from places like the Congo?
There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. This is well known and fully irrelevant to the topic of the thread. Which is a magic wizard lady's adventures in library creation and cat herding.

I for one would prefer to get some more of the eonir houses on board before laying the foundations. Maybe some other things too. Also, I am looking forward to rituals.

Sometimes I wish there was an easy way to grab your previous vote incase you want to change it or add to it.

[X] Plan Compromise
[X] Plan Compromise + Verenans
[X] Plan Starting up debt free

Sure does. It requires finding the post first though.
A useful thread tool for this is to go to the top of the page and click on Thread Tools on the upper right hand corner and then click on "Who Replied?". You will see a list of the people who replied in the thread. Put the name you're looking for in the search bar (in this case, your own name), then click on the blue number next to the name which indicates the number of posts that the person in question has made. Doing so sends you into a list of every post that person has made in the thread, which you can use to hunt down older posts if you can't remember the exact wording.

If you go to the search box and type in your name in the 'By' category, it'll bring up all of your posts in this thread in reverse chronological order. Alternatively, if you click on your name in the vote tally in one of the plans you voted for, it takes you directly to it.

Edit: Weber'd.

Yeah I know, I did that. This is a very petty complaint I'm aware but I'd like this multi-step process to be one button press: 'Insert previous vote'.

If you are arguing that the EIC, which is part-owned by the magic wizard lady, does not engage in capitalism and is irrelevant to the thread, I will, uh...react badly, I suppose?

Discussions about capitalism probably shouldn't be lingered on overmuch in this thread. I think it's probably best to just not continue this discussion line any longer.

Institutional capture of the library by Verenans is a legit worry i think.
Nothing as blatant as marching in with 30 librarians and wrestling the keys from Mathilde, that would be just silly.
But once you have couple people in from the start, get them in high enough positions, have them influence hiring to get more Verenans in.
And in the end, who does the implementing of policy can be just as important as who makes it, or what it is on paper.

I don't think it is a huge risk though, and it could provide for interesting story fodder if they try it.
I'd prefer halflings largely because i find them more interesting.

Come to think of it, this sounds exactly like what Mathilde was worried about with Adela and the Gunnery school, so much so that she ended up giving a warning over it. It's mostly a non-issue because we like Adela, and we don't think it'll have that much of a negative effect, and we're not involved in the Gunnery school, but it's something to keep in mind.
Where are Verenans, ideological opposition to Ranald, getting all these master infiltrators from?
Wrong context. It's not physical stealth, it's political.
