Picklepikkl is the physical incarnation of the thread's collective knowledge, spawned from all our shared desire for accurate references.

And also a pickle.

So once again I'm going to try and shill a top-and-bottom approach to papers.

can we please try and get at least one of:
Waaagh energy and magic witnessed during the Expedition. (FADED)
The Black Orc Warboss' worship of Only Gork, and what you saw of the Rogue Idol ritual. (FADED)

and then one of the newer papers.

by hitting it from both ends we will actually get through a lot of the old stuff, even if new stuff comes in.

we are at a healthy CF, and all the current papers are going to be faded or book ready anyways.

this is the time!

Faded papers aren't getting any more faded, its best to hit up the ones that are currently 'fading' before they get to the point of having a malus. I'm not sure if those are already updated for the upcoming turn, but even if they aren't we still have another round before they reach 'faded'.

Personally I want to devote all of our paper writing actions to the mushroom book at this point. They were one of the first things we started researching as Loremaster, it'd be nice to firmly close the book on one of our long term research projects- and to finally get the colleges benefitting from the shrooms.

to be clear, I don't care about the +10 or -10, we are pretty good on CF, I just want the narrative effects to not be wasting away.

The Greenskin papers are the last bit of the march to K8Ps, they have even more 'closer' effect than the mushrooms.

But we also have a lot of papers, and plans for enchantments that we can give for CF.

what I mean is that the papers don't need to be 'perfect papers' just basic papers. so the -10 isn't that big a deal.

No we do not need perfect papers, but we need the best papers we can get because we need CF for the Project and Branch. Faded papers make it more likely we will miss out on CF when we might need to spend down to the bone.

Oh, if typo-hunting's ongoing -
You consider the amount of ambient Dhar that the Skaven looters would need to be leaking for the souls of the restless dead to start manifesting on that scale, and wince. "It's been at least a few years since their last attempt, so since Morrsleib is waning and as long as no magic is used, it should be safe."
Morrslieb
The other Wizards regard the proferred staff politely. "What's the mystery?" Hubert asks.
proffered
You make several mental notes with the intention to cross-refernce this with everything you can get your hands on later, and by the time you're done with that, Ljiljana has begun to snore. You smile and shake your head before retreating from the chill of the northern winds.

Pickle is:

1. A rogue archival AI that breached containment
2. The incarnate spirit of a billion billion typos, longing for the release of nonexistence
3. The collective unconscious of all pedants everywhere throughout time and space
4. The genius loci of all Xenforo software
5. A time traveller seeking to avert the dark future caused by bad citation practices
6. Just some guy who likes quests, lmao
Redshirt Army threw 1 6-faced dice. Reason: Which is it??? Total: 2

Hey quick question.
I know he'd probably not say anything, but:
Afterward the meeting, Gunnars walks beside you. "Be careful with Karag Dum," he warns.

"Of course I-" you pause. "With Karag Dum? Not with the Chaos Wastes?"

"Karag Dum was the first place Morgrim spoke of His father's Doom," he says. "They knew that one day Chaos would come for them, and they would share in Grimnir's fate. They have known it and prepared for it for six thousand, seven hundred and twenty-two years. They survived the Coming of Chaos, they survived Morkar and Vangel and Kharduun. When we fought the Elves, Karag Dum fought Chaos. When we fought the greenskins, Karag Dum fought Chaos. When we fought the Skaven, Karag Dum fought Chaos." He hesitates, searching for the right words. "There is much that they could have seen as justified, in that time."
Did we ever ask Gunnars what he meant when he was saying there was a lot they could have considered justified?
May be a possible lead on Kor Dum.

Spoiler warning people, cause this will blow your mind:
All of them. And then some. Each and every one nerdier then the one that came before. But none of them is his nerdiest for his nerdiness is infinite. :V

The outcome of this roll proves that Ranald likes pickles.

In general, I think it would be best to not investigate how sausage is made if there's an answer that would ruin sausages for you. I try my best to keep all the plates spinning but I'm only one person and there are a lot of plates, so if you start to suspect there might be broken crockery behind the scenes, it might be best for your own enjoyment if you let that suspicion fade rather than breaking out the crowbar and flashlight to go hunting for it.

Then again, Mathilde would never willingly forget such suspicions, and we're sort of her consciousness... :V

(I'll be honest, I have no idea what you're actually talking about here, having mostly just skimmed the thread for your posts. I'm just trying to make a very bad joke.)

Wait, hold up. You work at a sausage factory? That's ridiculous! *Digs through BoneyM backstory notes furiously.*

I won't ask you here because it has been established that it might ruin the fun for others, but in general I definitely do also have an interest in how games are both made and run.

But I'm weird. I can happily enjoy eating ice cream while discussing that the flavoring might be sourced from beaver butts.
Well yes, I got that, it just sounded like he was referencing a specific background thing people might be poking at recently?
This time it was me (and others) and the background thing that started the discussion was the off-screen progression of the We silk trade.

People were talking about what they wanted to spend AP on, which turned into a debate on the value of We silk and the payoff of long term projects versus short term ones, which turned into a discussion on background rolls, which then turned to the depth of simulation.

I'm only one person.
Have to say, BoneyM going mask off and admitting to being a person was not something I expected to see.

...

I bet he's one of those hoomans.
I hear that they respire.

Disgusting, that's what that is. ATP is for stockpiling, not to be wasted on trival expenditures!

Edit: I've checked with the almighty SV council and they have informed me that "being something the expends ATP" is not a bannable offence. Political correctness gone mad! This is basically 1994 happening right in front of our eyes.
