I still don't trust your understanding of Bongo at all, frankly.

And namechecking "hacking or burgalery or armed robbery or military invasion or good 'ol fashioned scams," isn't really resolving my point either. None of those is like a psy shield!
???????????

You're going to have to explain that one. How, exactly, is a psy shield different for the purposes of knowing about it and its details being useful to the attacker, and us as the defender benefiting from them not having those details?

Like, are we just going to ignore that war is in the list of things you're saying this situation isn't like? In Warhammer 40k?

What?

And, well, sure, I'll give you that secret weapons are more relevant in fiction than reality. But, we are in such a work of fiction, and that's still just the very very far end of the scale and not the part you should put most of your focus on.

And more importantly - for the purpose of hitting a target with its pants down, the bar isn't "bongo is the only person who knows". As dragonparadox notes information doesn't disseminate throughout all of chaos instantly, and what, exactly, the capability is is not something an opponent is guaranteed to figure out if all they've got is "my attack didn't stop them before they killed me" in the first place. Most of what makes Bongo's knowledge actionable came from him having decades of constant contact with our shielding, which is why preventing shields from being captured matters.

No, the bar is merely that actionable information doesn't get to the target before your sucker punch does.

Though yes, that first battle is the one that's guaranteed to have us at a particularly unfair advantage. Thereafter, we'll at least occasionally run into folks who expect we can do what they witnessed. Intelligence in the sense of espionage isn't a binary.
As far as armor goes, yeah it's easy to make it stronger in one direction but you are never going to get armor that is strong in one direction and non-existent in the other.
Once again, ERA. Works in one direction, if it "works" in the other everyone in the vehicle dies. Not that "non-existant" is the bar that needs to be met for the purpose of teleporting and homebrew scrapcode and ship-scale-amped pyromancy etc working through our shields anyways...

Interactions between reality and the warp always get fucked up when translating things like time, space, and direction. The classic example is the birth of Slaanesh. After She was born, She always existed...sort of. Reality's history stayed the same, a whole lot of No Slaanesh followed by Slaanesh. But the warp retroactively changed to fit Her eternal existence.

The "directions" of a shield are the same way. Chaos is everywhere and nowhere sideways to reality, but during interactions with reality its rules start to matter.

-[X] While you think that black is objectively the best color, Cia has her own preferences too. And black and red do go well together. The end product for your power armor is quite intimidating, a black armor with red accents. Especially when combined with the aura of strength its mechanical-yet-clean bulwark conveys. Cia's new absolutely enormous sword adds to the intimidation factor quite nicely too.

    [X] Plan: Warp Lab Prep
-[X] The big idea: (for tl;dr, skip to "The Actual Plan" to just want to see what this actually votes for)
--[x] This plan aims to smash out a sensor tech that's applicable to the warp gate, and then scan it at range to plausibly deny we were doing it to any eldar who asks, then use the second half of the exploration to go to Denva. This, and most research is prep for my pitch for next turn, which goes like this:
--[x] Next Turn (non-binding) we can:
---[x] 1) Temporarily transfer bongo back to his old 400 HP vault while we...
    ---[x] 2) Get triple-nested Psy Shields,
---[x] 3) Trade our new tech to get an upgraded-to-permanent manufacturing boon
---[x] 4) Use that boon with our repair bay to refit the interior of the Oubliette into 3/4ths warp lab (180 HP) and 1/4th bongo containment (60HP) while keeping the existing 540 HP shield around both,
---[x] 5) Do basic daemonology research and bind Bongo so we can then put him in the 60 HP sub-compartment inside the 540 HP oubliette,
---[x] 6) Leave to explore Kethraxis where our anti-chaos prep will be more likely to be relevant than conventional weapons,
---[x] 7) Can now do Immateirum Understanding at our leisure, with time to spare for research relevant to conventional warfare.
    -[X] The Actual Plan:
-[X] [Repair Bay] Fix damage to psychic lab (76*5=380BP), Refits as needed to implement Empathy at Range, Fix incoming damage from warp traversal
-[X] [Free][DATA] Orks. How have they changed with the millennia?
    -[X] Research x3 (600 RP + 70 Anexa RP + 42 Tech-Priest RP)
    --[X] Improved Gellar Fields (10/100 RP -> 100/100 RP)
    --[X] Scrapcode Immunity (100 RP)
--[X] Basic Psychic weapons (150 RP)
--[X] Basic Pyromantic understanding (100 RP)
--[X] Empathy at Range (200 RP)
    ---[X] Anexa assist
    --[X] Psychic tripwires (25 RP)
---[X] Gives us something to beef up our trade to denva - scrapcode-immune tripwires that are also sensors which are also everywhere by default is good stuff.
--[X] Triple Nested Psychic shielding (47/200 RP)
---[X] Have to start on it this turn to afford finishing it and demonology with one action next turn
-[X] Explore: Travel to Denva, but first do a scan of the webway gate at range with focus on deniability. If questioned, say we're just tuning our gellar fields before travel and waiting near the gate on the off chance we catch Xylaris at egress.
    -[X] Anexa active Action: Research
    -[X] Victan passive action: Counterespionage & Alliance-building
    -[X] Cia Active Psyker improvement
    [X] Plan: Gate Snooping
-[X][FREE] Fix all Psychic Shield damage
-[X][FREE] Reconfigure one Manufactory and two Light Lances into a Warp Lab
-[X][FREE] Look into Orks. What do our records and the Empire's say?
    -[X] Research x3
--[X] Basic Spaceship Stealth (50 RP)
--[X] Improved Passive Stealth (50 RP)
--[X] Basic Active Stealth (75 RP)
--[X] Basic Psychic weapons (150 RP)
--[X] Basic Pyromantic understanding (100 RP)
--[X] Faith is my Shield? (75 RP)
--[X] Better Sensors are Just Physics (200 RP)
--[X] Overflow: Scrapcode Immunity (100 RP)
    --[X] Overflow2: Improved Gellar Fields (90 RP)
    --[X] Overflow3: Psychic Tripwires (25 RP)
-[X] Explore: Scan the Gate from orbit. If nothing comes through & no tripwires are detected, do light, passive scanning with a probe disguised as a rock (with internal mechanisms set to self-destruct as nonviolently as we can if tampered with). If caught/confronted, explain we were recallibrating our Gellar Fields for travel and just hanging near Xylarys's most likely exit point.
-[X] Victan: Passive Diplomacy & Espionage//Covering our butts if detected at the Gate
-[X] Anexa: Faith is My Shield?
-[X] Tech-Priests: Better Sensors are Just Physics
    -[X] Cia: Active Improvement
[X][Armor] White and green armour, after Vita, with golden filigree, after Anexa. And some decorative scorching, after Cia.
[X] Plan: Surely Nothing Bad Could Happen In A Place Named Vorthryn
-[X] Plan: Fully Kiting Out Cia
    [X] Plan: Onwards to Vorthryn
[X] Power armour aesthetic: Green and Gold

Ok, vote closed. Let's see, I need 9 d100 rolls. 1 roll per person, no deleting rolls, yada yada.
1st Roll: Improved Gellar Fields, +20
2nd Roll: Scrapcode Immunity, +20
3rd Roll: Basic Psychic weapons, +20
4th Roll: Machine Spirit Design, +30 (Anexa)
5th Roll: Basic Spaceship Stealth, +20

7th Roll: Explore: Vorthryn, +10
8th Roll: Cia Active improvement #1: Flat (maybe)
9th Roll: Cia Active improvement #2: Flat (maybe)

And then I need 6d6s to help me roll up Vorthryn. I'll roll those I think.

Ok. Rolls in. Wow. You're lucky you didn't try to do any combat this turn.
1st Roll: Improved Gellar Fields, 28+20=48. Success.
2nd Roll: Scrapcode Immunity, 1+20. Failure.
3rd Roll: Basic Psychic weapons, 33+20= 55. Success.
4th Roll: Machine Spirit Design, 33+30 = 67 (Anexa) Barely a good success.
5th Roll: Basic Spaceship Stealth, 60+20 = 80. Good success.
6th Roll: Basic Pyromantic understanding, 17+20=37, Barely a success.
7th Roll: Explore: Vorthryn, 30+10 = 40. Barely a success.
8th Roll: Cia Active improvement #1: 67
9th Roll: Cia Active improvement #2: 67
Would have been hilarious if those were 66's.

And then Vorthryn is using 2, 2, 2, 5, 2, 4 for system generation. That's a surprisingly awkward set or rolls for how middle-of-the-road it is.
