Bah, as if Americans know how to recognize a good pizza.

Yes, I said it. You know it's the truth!

This is an acceptable retort if you're Italian. If not, then back into the subjective pile with ye!

I'm half-Italian. Does that make it a half-acceptable retort?

I'm fully italian, and i agree :D. Also i'm from Sicily, and we have better pizza than most other italians! (though usually not as good as Napoli.)

Honestly, even ITALIANS can't really agree on when a pizza STOPS being a pizza. MOST of us agree Napoli's pizza is the best, pineapple on it should be banned, and personally i find the "pepperoni pizza" funny, seen as peperoni in italy means this.

(also personally i like Focaccia more than pizza. Similar concept, but different dough

Pineapple on pizza is delicious. Especially with pickled jalepenos and pepperoni sausage.

The eytomology of pepperoni in the America sense is interesting and might be derived from peperoncino since pepperoni sausage is usually flavored fairly spicy. First use goes all the way back to 1913, according to Wikipedia.

If there's anything good about this travesty of a timeline it's that Chicago doesn't have enough tomatoes to make deep dish pizza.

If I like them and they contradict no points of canon (to which the player base will not always be privy), I add them to the canon.
I may do bonuses. Not yet sure

Right then. I don't make very big omakes, but I can at least come up with some short ones based off what I've seen and spoken about. Some of it may be rather goofy, but I feel some humor would be well appreciated in what will probably be a lot of seriousness.

Phoebe Deegan: "Joke all you like; I'll consider it a massive win when we bring The Taste back. Dad won't shut up about how I'm missing out, and since we're talking food I'm not in a good position to argue."

Only California does the over 8 hours a day thing.
I would argue that it's actually better to go with "overtime over 40 hours a week" than "8 hours a day," because there are people who would happily decide to work four ten-hour shifts instead of five eight-hour ones. Making it actively more expensive for an employer to let people do that isn't doing anyone any favors. It's kind of unfortunate that we don't have this more in real life.

... Of course, in the game our labor situation is probably going to more closely resemble that of a struggling Third World country, which means we may simply not have labor protections that nearly everyone in the thread takes for granted thanks to the position of privilege we enjoy here and now. It sounds like we may actually be starting from a lower point of per capita GDP than the 1920-era Soviet Union, which affects what we can and cannot guarantee our workforce beyond the level of "look, we are for serious trying."

100 pages in six days. Holy shit. :D
I think you touched a nerve.

the laws allow you do work 4 10s and you can waive the right to the overtime in that situation. My co-workers used to do it.

So my linked Frostpunk song is even more relevant?

Like Antix said, you can choose to work 4 10s and waive the overtime for those days; my company also has a swing shift kinda set up where you work nine hours a day and get every other Friday off.

I am HR adjacent/have done some payroll work before so I get to see this stuff in action. :p

Probably so. I doubt we shall have a glorious reclaiming campaign against the vile Victorians and their Russian masters anytime soon. We are a ramshackle state with lofty goals and a lot of damage to deal with. We must balance all sorts of concerns and build some degree of a functioning state before the public loses faith in the dream. Promises only go so far! I expect us to deal with severe internal problems, refugees from other parts of America, and waiting for the Tsar to die and hoping Russia enters chaos before daring to make a major move. It's like the various weak resistance and exile states waiting for Hitler to die in the New Order mod and Germany to plunge into Civil War before showing their cards.
