Who knows really though, we could expand by like one town and our entire political demographics might change, so maybe none of us should be super invested.

I am pretty sure America has work hour laws, so 12 hours a day would be illegal or force them to pay alot of money extra.
Work hour laws are known to be a primary cause of a decrease in economic growth, which accelerated the crisis that destroyed the United States. Therefore our restored USA will have no formal regulation of work hours in order to maintain productivity at its highest possible peak. But at least you'll have gruel and water provided by the government when your body or mind finally collapse from the strain. So look grateful.

lol, we're clearly not going to be that capitalistic.

Oh yes we are. You actually think a socdem-capitalist alliance is going to follow though on anything other than the barest minimum? Especially with the QM herding us towards whatever options make us most like the OTL US?

Will it still allow for people to work overtime if they choose to do so?
Overtime cuts into profit margins, and as such will be strictly optional. No more of this mandatory time-and-a-half business either; rates will be optional as well.

*shifty eyes* Tally is now outdated
[x][CRUSH] None. This is a democracy. If your ideology cannot make its case to the people in practice, it deserves to fail.

[x][REVIEW] The new Constitution should be put to review and possible revision every thirty years.

[x][POWER] You are a centralized federal state along the lines of the later United States.
[X][TEXT] The Constitution serves as a broad guide for the structure of this document, and many legal concepts integral to it carry through, but it is rewritten from the ground up to serve its new situation rather than simply amending it until it fits.

[X][IDEALS] Social Democrat: Centered around the idea that it is the state's responsibility to ensure a bare-minimum standard of living, the Social Democrats add to the New Capitalist agenda with a push for a government guarantee of adequate housing, food, and water to all citizens -- itself a fairly titanic task. It remains rooted in the fundamental ideal of private enterprise. The Social Democrats have some interest in the potential of democratized workplaces and are willing to support them in an experimental measure.

Normal jobs do, however things like Healthcare/Law Enforcement/Rescue and other jobs understandably have different hours.

The way overtime laws currently function, at least in CA, is that if they do work overtime, they get paid 1.5x their rate for hours worked over 40 hours a week/over 8 hours a day, 2x rate on all hours on the 7th consecutive day of work.

Speaking personally, I don't have an issue with people working overtime as long as they are properly compensated and it's not exploitative and they have the option to not work overtime if they don't want to (without fear of retaliation/losing their job).

current tally is just one page back.

Ah cool, thanks! Looks like we'll either be Socialist or Social Democrats. But I wanted to be a Haruhiist Theocracy! (Kidding)

More seriously, I'm interested in a lot of the non-politics stuff. Like fighting Victorians, bringing back pizza, and getting the internet back. I want my internet back.

...I thought we were going Madokaist, dangit. She's a much more responsible god.

...But yes, Pizza is important. All these youngsters that have never had Pizaa.... it gives me the chills.

What are you talking about? Pizza is serious politics here.

True. But it's more fun. Mainly because you can eat the winning result!

...we need to rectify this soon. How does one win without pizza?

Also, as an aside, what is the state of anime and manga right now, @PoptartProdigy

[x][IDEALS] Socialist: Having come to refer to a specific political movement rather than an entire branch of ideology, modern socialism is focused on giving the state the power to care for allcitizens, and claims that the modern Social Democrat platform does not go far enough in pursuit of this. It also calls for a massive investment into healthcare in order to revitalize the field and make sure that there are enough medical professionals to go around (long-term, they want free healthcare, but there needs to be enough of it first). They also grant unions extensive privileges over private employers. They are fervently in favor of democratized workplaces, and openly campaign in favor of granting them special concessions.

...we need to rectify this soon. How does one win without pizza?
That's easy enough to fix. All you have to do is sign right here and allow Totally-Not-Rosneft, Inc. clear away that church and that community garden to put in a Maximart location. The prices will always be low, low, low and you'll have pizza for days! It's not like anybody was using that land productively, anyway. Just sign the paper so we don't have to go to the alderman, why don't you? You know you want to, and it's easier this way...

Can we write a policy that everyone gets at least one free deep dish pizza per year?
Too socialist. Everybody gets one slice of free deep dish pizza every other year, that's much more equitable.

Bah, as if Americans know how to recognize a good pizza.

Yes, I said it. You know it's the truth!
This is an acceptable retort if you're Italian. If not, then back into the subjective pile with ye!
