Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Should have picked the moon moth. Then we'd have a Mothra to go up against Ghidora. :V
Uh, wouldn't that just result in getting killed by the Ghidorah in a heroic sacrifice play? What we'd need is a Godzilla equivalent to power up/heal to finish the job-...

Ling Qi: Ethereal, Supporter, Music theme, primary means of attack is AoE clouds that DoT or make enemies lethargic.

Cai Renxiang: Straightforward and commands attention, Ruler, primary means of attack is Burning F-You Beams.

...Oh my god we're the Mothra to Renxiang's Godzilla.

[X] Leave them to their individual tasks and search the southern border for signs of barbarian activity.

Dropping a preliminary vote

I'll read the discussion later

Can't really decide between the two.
On one hand, maybe someone should do a quick check on the border, not engaging in fights just taking a quick looksee and running away.
On the other hand, making the best map possible might be the smart thing to do and most within our job description.

Another great thing about Liao, he has successfully chipped away at the Imperial Supremacist mindset, and recognizes that Barbarian legends are not automatically inferior to our own "obviously true" origin stories.

Yeah, I first started to think so when he mentioned that barbarians and imperials die in almost same way and there is little difference there.

Also, I felt a bit surprised at the level of IRL duties that Liao has taken up while being an Inner Sect student. That "you must make a significant contribution to the Sect" restriction on the Top 500 and up might be more significant than I thought. I guess I see why he is all the way up at #2, he actively infiltrates the Cloud Tribes.

Liao Zhu lives at his work. He was able to tutor Qi only because at the time he was on a mandatory leave. I assume he doesn't take many breaks on his own, kinda like Ling Qi herself.

It seems that a pattern is forming in that wherever the Empire tries to expand, there will be an uber dangerous threat. I have no idea why individuals think that South of the Wall would be any different.
Empires expand until they reach the limits of their ability to project force after all
The sentance has been edited for clarity. Would you believe that the old thing had slipped my mind?
Forgotten Star Rhapsody!

Can't tell what changed there

The paragraph before your quoted post.
Eventually they withdrew, and as they others rejoined them, she asked the first question that came to mind. "Did any of that make sense to you? I've never heard of a real falling star." While the term was used fairly often as a poetic descriptor, stars didn't actually move, they were just hidden while the Sun moved overhead.

[X] Work with Chang He to pacify or disperse spirits as necessary.

If we want dealing with spirits to be something we're exceptional at we need to stay really consistent about pursuing it

This is something we have a unique talent for. Someone else can check the Southern border just as well or better than we can.

I see the barbarians as the biggest potential threat.

If they are indeed out there in force and we did not discover them, that could lead to a catastrophe.
Everything else is quite important, but not that crucial in my opinion.
