Mmm, @yrsillar is there any chance we could get the meridians to equip CDE at least? I ask because this is arguably the ideal opportunity to actually show us using CDE, and right now we're running the risk of it being this art that we theoretically have but which never actually gets used in story at all.

Shen Hu's option sounds really cool, but it can wait. I want to keep contact with Xuan Shi after we leave the Sect, so we're going to have to put some focus on him to get that far.

Anyway.

It looks like--as has been the case so far--the Sun Faction have doubled down again. Pulling a Jin literally to the opposite side of the Empire into an allegedly hostile province and flooding the rest with Western Territory count scions is... Uh.

Well, at least Gan Guangli won't fall too far behind in his Cultivation with that kind of opposition. It's looking like him succeeding is actually impossible if we don't give him some backup on the sly.

That being said, Shenhua probably knows and expects this, and considers us dripping resources and information to be fair. It's a test of GG's character and talent, not a test of how much money he can throw into a moneypit. Him having to be the rock against a tide of opposition is a good way of tempering him or finding out he wasn't worthwhile after all.

But we're still responsible for actually getting him that material, which means this is ultimately going to be a team effort--though as noted, it appears that Guangli passing is going to lead to him hitting the Inner Sect as not being too far behind what he would have been if he was there from the start. At the very least, this pressure is going to be good for his Advanced Insight generation.
