Geocentric cosmology, with the Sun and Moon orbiting creation on opposite sides OR creation spins and the Sun and Moon are static on opposite sides of creation. We're not sure. There's basically no eclipses ever, unless something from creation is blocking/attacking the Sun. Which is always a bad thingI wonder, is Guangli just rising or is he Rising/Zenith?
I'm also intensely curious how solar and lunar eclipses fall into this cosmology. Like, is there an Eclipse great spirit, or is it just like, the time where the sun and moon are in opposition or something?
Huh. That would imply that the moon produces its own light instesd of reflecting sunlight since it would be in a constant lunsr eclipse otherwise. Yes, it does. The phases are also independent of the sun.Huh. That would imply that the moon produces its own light instesd of reflecting sunlight since it would be in a constant lunsr eclipse otherwise. Interesting.
In all seriousness, if they're able to hide this fight from the summit participants my suspension of disbelief will go "crack." The shallows of the Liminal should not be enough to conceal Sovereigns trying to kill each other. Xia Ren is everything SWD hates. I wouldn't be surprised if he, once he realizes there's no way out, were to try and pull her with him into death. Everyone within kilometres is going to be battered with visions like this:Now, what could possibly keep the summit attendees from noticing the Terrible Events raging just on the other side of the liminal, you might wonder?
"We'll all need a visit to the medicine hall, but I can keep us on our feet," Ruan Shen said, running his fingers nervously over his scorched scalp. "Now, what's—"
A hundred thousand arrows roared from a bowstring, each one a shard of sunfire fletched with the storm. They flew unerring, and one hundred fists the size of hills shattered the air, punching them from the sky, and battered the Cloud Titan, but could not catch the scattering sky. Behind the fists, a mountain bled liquid sunlight from a thousand tiny wounds.
Ruan Shen shuddered, his smile transforming into a grimace. "What's the plan?" he finished, his voice strained.
To be fair that's an example of a Sovereign confrontation happening in the material world right on top of us, I wouldn't want to be taking a nap right now but it shouldn't be on quite that level for people who are awake. In all seriousness, if they're able to hide this fight from the summit participants my suspension of disbelief will go "crack." I really want people in-setting to begin calling Ling Qi the Sword Bearer after this.
Anyone who knows anything about Xia Ren is going to feel something break in their brain when they hear that rumour.Someone uses the name sarcastically and it starts spreading beyond its original context, cuing serious misunderstandings about Ling Qi's sexual preferences and type. You know, all of that sword-and-sheath imagery.
"You know, the Heron General DID seem weirdly okay with the diplomatic summit with all those foreigners..."
