I don't really understand the appeal of Primacy of Beasts...yes I understand the appeal of TREE but in that case, people should be voting for Xiangmen pt 2. If they want to add another cool beast to our BKSD repertoire, then Bear God's Fury would be the way to go. Not altering the Primal War Calling into gross...Vermin God stuff. Not nearly as cool as a giant Bear Paw or TREE.

The contemplation of war felt fitting to some of the upcoming actions we have like Western Marches or Land Dark and Cruel. Not to mention we're shaving a bit off BKSD. Personally, I think TREE is cool, but not for this sets of action. and I'm a bit more meh on the BearPrimacy of Beasts: Learn the song of nature, the melody of tooth and claw. Where lies the line between beasts and men, which brings us to war? Mere greed and pride, or something more? Alters the primal War Calling into the Vermin God's Legion technique. +1 XP to Want and Power. Unlocks one Project(0/3)
vsIt's Depths Without End: The imperturbable surface, a skin of shimmering black that lies over the infinite deeps beneath. All vanishes into the dark, leaving mere ripples behind. Where sleeps that which vanishes from world, sight, and memory?. +1 XP to Mystery and Ending. Advances the Black Mirror Technique. (0/3)
Ignoring numbers and mechanics stuff it's hard to argue against primacy of beasts' themes being very on point with us really examining the WT adjacent factions this turn. Gotta have my vote this time.Primacy of Beasts: Learn the song of nature, the melody of tooth and claw. Where lies the line between beasts and men, which brings us to war? Definitely not the case. SNR has, in general, led LQ to explore concepts like Void which are applicable to more than just the infinite depths of certain lakes. There are other concepts the art has that LQ is familiar with, that she often contemplates on--Darkness and Yin. The description of the art includes both the lake and the night sky--Saying that the Stars and Spheres action serves as an analogue for Lake Hei is more than just a stretch. It's a weird attempt to shoehorning a SNR project into the narrative.
SNR projects are cool philosophical projects with combat applications, but they aren't adequate for the-right-before-the-Summit turn like others projects are.
I refuse to believe this would have no applicability or connection to LQ studying the very heavens. It would certainly fit. Arts are meant to be metaphorical, if one thinks SNR can only be applied to lakes, they're taking it a bit too literally. In the Thousand Lakes, the infinite depth of the night sky is reflected from one thousand mirrors, displaying infinite emptiness extending beyond the heavens and into the depths of the earth. In meditating upon this conceptual void, the user seeks to become such a mirror, combining the formlessness and absorption of darkness with the rippling serenity and infinite depth of the lakes. Enemies striking the user and their allies find their weapons and techniques sinking into the shadows, to vanish, doing no more harm than they would if they slashed the waters of mighty Lake Hei, or aimed their malice at the starless sky.

Gee, I wonder why Ling Qi would be interested in a multitude of those reviled as loathsome or repulsive. I'm sure definitions like that, when applied to groups, are rigorously vetted and immediately removed once they no longer apply, rather than becoming definitions that are grandfathered into perpetuity and used as enduring reasons for rejection and violence.
No sir, the concept of "vermin" does not seem at all applicable to Ling Qi's current endeavors.
Oh absolutely, but that's why this turn is so good for Primacy. As you say, it's really the least exciting of our BKSD projects, so absent anything else, we'll probably prioritise the others. If we have a good opportunity to really show off BKSD in a turn by going some nice fighting or history stuff, then Bear or Wolf would be better options. But that isn't what we have this turn. Instead we have a nice space in our cultivation schedule and a bunch of things in both this turn and recent events that really cry out for meditations on War and Power and Want. This is probably the best time we'll have for getting Primacy done.I don't really understand the appeal of Primacy of Beasts...yes I understand the appeal of TREE but in that case, people should be voting for Xiangmen pt 2.
