Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Yeah! I agree on this...

But I will propose my own plan... I consider BKSD more important than We Are But Ripples... Also I also don't want WABR to pollute the meaning of FSS+ (similar reason to not to do winter soul)

[] Plan Step by Step
-[] [Professional] Survey the Wall
-[] [Professional] Hou Zhuang's Gift 3 of 3
-[] [Personal] Idols and Ancestors
-[] [Personal] Sea of Dreams
-[] [Cultivation] Bear God's Fury (6/3, sites irrelevant)
-[] [Cultivation] The Laughing Wind (7/3, Shattered Gaol)
-[] [Cultivation] Frozen Soul Serenade Successor Creation
Change the Bear to the Xiangmen project, and I will consider it more strongly

So, a whole bunch of potent and relevant trait and concept upgrades, which is very nice, all of which tie in nicely to other actions and events. I'm not 100% married to the Wall Survey action, and that could easily be changed without affecting much.

Depends what the final site is I think, I note we're still holding out for a Moon Site in our fief region after all, while all of the other places for our coterie's cultivation are covered with good stuff by now. If there's a Moon site at the final breakpoint, that would tie in nicely with the Xuan Shi arc as well as Laughing Wind.

Change the Bear to the Xiangmen project, and I will consider it more strongly

As you wish...

[] Plan Frozen Tree
-[] [Professional] Survey the Wall
-[] [Professional] Hou Zhuang's Gift 3 of 3
-[] [Personal] Idols and Ancestors
-[] [Personal] Sea of Dreams
-[] [Cultivation] Xiangmen, Fortress of Tsu Pt. 2 (9/10, Argent Domain, Saline Grotto)
-[] [Cultivation] The Laughing Wind (7/3, Shattered Gaol)
-[] [Cultivation] Frozen Soul Serenade Successor Creation

While I agree about the importance of FSS+ and LFTW, I also think this guy has a point. I say we include Diviner's Path in the plan.
I refuse to change Sea of Dream (which is only available in this turn), and I think we're already resolved to take Idols and Ancestors anyways soo that's out. I personally think the flavour text Diviner's Path has is just Yrs being cheeky, but IF there are consequences, then I will full accept them.

I feel like Sea of Dreams has to be done before the summit and that and Laughing Wind could work well together. But if we're doing FSS+ and thinking of We Are But Ripples then maybe Starlit Labyrinth would be good this turn as well. We could get additional information about Ice Spirits which is always useful, the Space/Void possessions that are the mythological antagonist of people we're supposed to meet and works well with Ripples, and possibly even the Khan Queens that traveled south and likely put the Starlit Labyrinth there all these years before becoming the ancestors of White Sky which works really nicely in parallel with Idols and Ancestors. With Survey the Wall it flows nicely with Xia Lin too, and gives us a break from provincial politics by skipping Hua Zhong's Gift for one turn. It just fits.

[] Plan Void Queens
-[] [Professional] Starlit Labyrinth
-[] [Professional] Survey the Wall
-[] [Personal] Idols and Ancestors
-[] [Personal] Sea of Dreams
-[] [Cultivation] We Are But Ripples (Saline Grotto) (6/3)
-[] [Cultivation] The Laughing Wind (Shattered Gaol) (7/3)
-[] [Cultivation] Frozen Soul Serenade Successor Creation

This is just being tongue in cheek about it being an adventure, not that it's in urgent need of our attention.

It's very different. Soul of Ice explicitly expands the conceptual framework that Cold and Ice drawn from, which is the opposite of what we want and becomes messy narratively. Contemplating meaning and purpose in the face of the End compliments our FSS insight - it's significantly more focused and doesn't detract from FSS+.

The problem is that Diviner Path implies doing Cathedral of Winds as well because otherwise it would be an important waste... A plan with both could be:
[] Plan Fief Turn
-[] [Professional] Survey the Wall
-[] [Professional] Cathedral of Winds
-[] [Personal] Diviner's Path
-[] [Personal] Sea of Dreams
-[] [Cultivation] Bear God's Fury (6/3, sites irrelevant)
-[] [Cultivation] The Laughing Wind (7/3, Shattered Gaol)
-[] [Cultivation] We Are But Ripples (Saline Grotto) (6/3)

And it implies not doing FSS+

Anyway, on the whole, I'm satisfied with Xeph's plan, in an ideal world, it'll only require three and a half story arcs, and it hits all the beats I want to see this turn.

I think I'm leaning towards @Spacegnom plan.

[] Plan Dream Tribulation and Successor
-[] [Professional] Survey the Wall
-[] [Professional] Hou Zhuang's Gift 3 of 3
-[] [Personal] Idols and Ancestors
-[] [Personal] Sea of Dreams
-[] [Cultivation] Dreaming Songstress (Site Irrelevant)
-[] [Cultivation] The Laughing Wind (Shattered Gaol) (7/3)
-[] [Cultivation] Frozen Soul Serenade Successor Creation

Sea of Dreams: You seek to bring Xuan Shi onboard with the White Sky negotiations, and perhaps make up for your rude treatment in the past. And so you have invited him out for a walk in the realm of dreams. What he wishes to see is his choice, but there is never a dull moment on the other side. (+1 XP to Want. Increase Dreamwalker Trait by 1. Ally gained for the summit on success. Characters: Xuan Shi, Sixiang, Zhengui, Kongyou.). Available only this turn.

Well, I guess the 2 Personal Actions are already set in stone.
-[] [Personal] Idols and Ancestors
-[] [Personal] Sea of Dreams

All plans are obviously going to include them as well as
-[] [Art] Frozen Soul Serenade
So the choices will be for the 2 Proffessional Actions and the other 2 arts.

Yay!! It's time!!

Edit: Plan ideas

[]Plan: Strong Foundations
-[] [Professional] Survey the Wall
-[] [Professional] Hou Zhuang's Gift 3 of 3
-[] [Personal] Idols and Ancestors
-[] [Personal] Sea of Dreams
-[] [Art] Frozen Soul Serenade
-[] [Art] Soul of Ice (8/5, Argent Domain, Falling Waters Palace)
-[] [Art] Bear God's Fury (6/3, sites irrelevant)

[]Plan: Winter Blossom
-[] [Professional] Paying Respects
-[] [Professional] Root Inroads
-[] [Personal] Idols and Ancestors
-[] [Personal] Sea of Dreams
-[] [Art] Frozen Soul Serenade
-[] [Art] Soul of Ice (8/5, Argent Domain, Falling Waters Palace)
-[] [Art] Bear God's Fury (6/3, sites irrelevant)

[]Plan: Winter Whisper
-[] [Professional] Paying Respects
-[] [Professional] Hou Zhuang's Gift 3 of 3
-[] [Personal] Idols and Ancestors
-[] [Personal] Sea of Dreams
-[] [Art] Frozen Soul Serenade
-[] [Art] Soul of Ice (8/5, Argent Domain, Falling Waters Palace)
-[] [Art] Bear God's Fury (6/3, sites irrelevant)

Why Bear God Fury?

As Doramas said:

Why Root Inroads?

Root Inroads: Bian Ya, your occasional tutor and acquaintance is a fellow vassal of the Cai clan. Strengthen that relationship and see about learning more of your 'peers' (Information on Cai Vassals, particularly Bian and Xia, +1 to bond with Bian Ya. Character's Bian Ya, Ruan Shen)

Reasons:

She has been very considerate with LQ (turn 4: Arc 3-2, quote below) and also all the support in our work in the previous turn... Also, obviously having the breakdown of factions under the Cai is very important information.

Those aren't bad plans, but I can't approve of doing Paying Respects without Hidden Scribe. The narrative cohesion is too good. I think that I'll let go of the Moonless Winter plan I mentioned before and, regretfully, leave Paying Respects for another turn.
So, my current plan outlook would be like this:

[]Plan: Roots Remain Strong During Winter
-[] [Professional] Survey the Wall
-[] [Professional] Root Inroads
-[] [Personal] Idols and Ancestors
-[] [Personal] Sea of Dreams
-[] [Art] Frozen Soul Serenade
-[] [Art] Soul of Ice (8/5, Argent Domain, Falling Waters Palace)
-[] [Art] Bear God's Fury (6/3, sites irrelevant)

I maintain my statement of doing Soul of Ice and Frozen Soul Serenade together.
I don't expect "magic to happen" just for doing Ice and Frozen together, but I still think it's the right choice. FSS+ will be objectively stronger because the Winter Heart Trait will increase, which will make FSS+ more immediately useful even if we are still developing it
Narratively, it will go like this: at the summit place, Linq Qi will notice how the White Sky's Winter differs from Zeqing's and her own. That will lead her to contemplate how her Winter has started to differ from Zeqing's lessons.
That will crystalize in a later arc in the actual Successor Art Creation. It's a good, organic set up. A bit of preparation instead of it suddenly popping up. Remember, in the story doesn't appear how the thread has been talking about FSS+ for months.
The proccess will have it's own votes and choices. That's what will actually define FSS+. So SoI won't "muddle" the proccess or the result anymore than such an endevour would be in a quest anyway.

Without Hidden Scribe, the Bear God wins the third slot. Laughing Wind comes a close second and I wouldn't mind if a plan with wins. But having a "complex" giant bear around that Sixiang can possess is too good to pass.

About Proffessional Actions, I already explained why I favor Root Inroads. It's a good continuation to the Weilu Party.
I think we can leave finishing Hou Zhuang's Gift for next turn. Last time we chose the Foundations and raised our rep. In the last part, we'll most likely choose Central Valley, like in Part 1. So I think it's good we learn more about the clans there before finishing our contact network.

I also think we should finish Survey the Wall now, just so we have all the information about our fief and can properly plan the future actions.

Yeah Xeph's plan helps us the most with concepts and Xuan Shi adventurer while leaving it not to packed. It also finshes off two of our chained professional actions.

I personally want to finish the Survey and Hou Zhuang right away, because i want to get them over with and not repeat the whole "we can do it next turn" schtick. It's a low hanging fruit, we may as well take it

I'm in team yes soul of Ice, but I like this one even more:

[X] Plan Cold Wisdom
-[X] [Professional] Survey the Wall
-[X] [Professional] Paying respect
-[X] [Personal] Idols and Ancestors
-[X] [Personal] Sea of Dreams
-[X] [Cultivation] Hidden Scribe (Site Irrelevant)
-[X] [Cultivation] Soul of Ice (Palace of Falling Waters)
-[X] [Cultivation] Frozen Soul Serenade Successor Creation

I don't want to belabor on the Soul of Ice controversy, I think everyone has an opinion on it now, and I think finishing the survey (with Bai Anxi, which sounds fun) and Paying respect would be nice. We do need to advance on our primary cultivation art, and doing hidden cultivation while paying respects to Xin feels like a good plan (and moon attention would be niiiice), and I don't think anyone wants to leave behind Xuan Shi, even if I'm not really enthusiastic about that ship.

(also, I encourage people to vote for multiple plans... I didn't know that was allowed :D )

Huh. Aren't we allowed to switch personal and professional actions tho? Are our Professional actions spoken for too?

Also why does Paying Respects have to be now? shouldn't it be on the last turn at the Argent Sect? i feel like that would have a lot more narrative power to it??? Like seriously don't we have at least one or two more turns at the Argent Sect? Or has Yrs explicitly said otherwise?

I personally prefer to finish off our Scouting and Hou Zhuang. Not to mention there is another Professional action that complements Diviner's Path
Cathedral of Winds: A darkness lurks beneath this potent cultivtion site, an impure beast that corrupts and consumes the native spirit fauna. Delve into the black waters and seek the source. [Exploration at base 1d100 +40 if taken alongside Diviner's Path. Reward Thresholds at 60, 100, 180. Characters. Gan Guangli, Varies, choices given in action]
I don't think now is the right time to do them, so I want to push it next turn

I have a tingling suspicion it'll open up a "before you go" quest. And we can switch personal to professional, but not vice-versa (like in real life :()

I most want FSS + Sea of Dreams + LFWT + BKSD. Professionals matter less but I'm in favor of finishing up Hou Zhuang. That really narrows down the plans by a lot.

I personally prefer this as I am more interested in the province than the survey.

Fair, I'll vote for it too :D

I'm pretty happy with Xepheria's plan. We took the fief with the best exotics so I'd expect that the last thing we find from survey the wall to be good. I thing we can wait until next turn to take it. I want soul of ice but I think the concerns of a turn with it and the Frozen Soul Serenade Successor making things cluttered are fair. I think we can do it and paying respects can go next turn.
