yeah I think it would be pretty annoying to have the two quests directly fighting each other like that. we'd either be constantly getting in our own way or people would start only backing one of the quests.
Wait would that make him the Cawl to Fabius Bile since Bile is like Grimm with one mind and multiple bodies, and 6-1 is like Cawl with one body and multiple minds.I mean true but in the other hand he needed to fuse himself wit huh five other scary people to be roughly equivalent to Grimm.
This is… actually a pretty good comparison all things considered.Wait would that make him the Cawl to Fabius Bile since Bile is like Grimm with one mind and multiple bodies, and 6-1 is like Cawl with one body and multiple minds.
It all comes full circle.
I mean based on their interactions in the novel Cawl and Bile were already counter parts you just squared that relationship with Grimm and 6-1.This is… actually a pretty good comparison all things considered.
Ok, here's a fun idea
Night Lords Geneseed
Give them the Latch Boots for full verticality
Make their warcry "We are Vengeance!"
Make them for the Counter-espionage task.
Boom! A Chapter of Batmen Space Marines.
What kind of name would we use? I, myself, am leaning towards a name that includes the word "Crusader". The red symbol on a white background would be awesome.Keepers of Truth is firmly in the lead followed by Prologue to Truth
EDIT: A Potential Chapter Symbol, for your consideration.
Torchlight Crusaders perhaps? What kind of name would we use? I, myself, am leaning towards a name that includes the word "Crusader". The red symbol on a white background would be awesome.
Same man, same. these guys are just so great and have a bunch of different relations and way of doing things. I will say the relation with the Guard helps boost their favor with me.
OHhhhhh so that's the change. Okay, that would make sense as to why it was so significant the reason for the adoption and they paid the price in their place. If I understand correctly Imperial Fists and their chapters have smaller loses
Ah so paying the price in blood for it, keeping a good portion of the Beast's focus on them and due them... wait, in verse what's the 'official' linage of the Steel Champions? since they got adoption its expected they aren't Imperial Fist Successor chapter so it'd be another one. We know its Iron Warriors and the brotherhood forged from this is amazing but anyone not in the know wouldn't know it.As far as I was able to read, it helped speed up the counterattack against the Beast and reduce the losses of Dorn's legacy... and cementing the bonds between the Steel Champions and the Iron Fists and their Successor Chapters.
I suspect that the Fell Powers are cursing Grimm, and loudly, because a Dorn + Perturabo collaboration combo is something to DREAD.
Indeed, its strange how that works out and how the Double Sized thing even happened. We see now the Ork Empire don't joke around and are dangerous, it was only due to the Mandate in the Request and the Homeworld combined that allowed the Double Strength excemption.Oh yes, and if Truy was not at the doorsteps of an Ork-controlled zone the Champions would have never been allowed to be basically double the size of a standard Chapter... meaning that 'thanks' to the selfsame Orks they had enough to send such a force to slow down the Beast.
Hahahha, they now have to go around to redeem themselves in the eyes of everyone else because of all the bullshit they did up until that point. they can't destroy it so that's their newest shame they will go around trying to make right... and look really creepy doing it as they would be looking for an excuse to help someone or a faction in order to say it counts as paying back.Imagine the Dark Angels finally killing the last Fallen and they think all is forgiven only for the Steel Champions to suddenly show up and drop a big ass tablet describing all their misdeeds at their feet before leaving.
indeed, on top of everything else, he has a written report of his son's fuck ups since he went to bed. When the Lion returns the Steel Champion march up to him delivering digital copy of the tablet would be hilarious.
Que the Lion complaining he never wanted kids to begin with and just the disappointed Dad vibe after reading it. The fact it comes to him because their his kids makes it worst.Canon Lion returning to imperium, Steel Champions come up and air drops the actual table of misdeeds in front of him, 'Your children have committed numerous crimes, as their Father, we require you to come down to the station sir.'
Literally the thing we weren't planning for or expected just happened mostly due to the amount of traits rolled and we could get but also the way it worked in the narrative that make sense for it to happen and it happened on an Iron Warrior's Successor chapter that had Legendary Spite and being able to see the Eye of the Terror... you just don't expect that to be the chapter that meshes great with the Imperial Guard.Among all their worthy achievements it's by far the funniest thing to me that these Iron Warriors learned diplomacy. They might be grumpy mean marines but they're consistent, loyal and logical which ends up making them exactly the kind of marines other people want to have around. Everyone worthwhile loves these bitter fucks and it's hilarious.
Hahaha, yah its kinda of terrifying if you are allied or just with the one who that spite is focused on because that is some bullshit and dedication and just fracks you over with how far they are willing to go. Like the update said, they force the Eldar to commit their forces to fights they can't run away from and causes so many unnecessary deaths from that and the Steel Champions just won't stop doing it.Legendary Spite is no joke theirs is a reason two Craftworlds decided 'nah we ain't letting you get these guys on our case over one maiden world without any Eldar on it' earlier.
I mean add in how the Steel Champions fight and their specialties, along with the Dread Jars.... I can think of ways to inflict a lot of losses on the Eldar and this going on for many thousands of years, the Eldar don't reproduce that fast and those warriors dying take a long time to replace and being forced into a meat grinder is NOT how the Eldar fight so that affects it as well. When your spite is so legendary that the nigh-immortal elves are stopping their other elf colleague from doing something stupid.
pffffft, that is a threat now but you know how the Memes would go about this .
...... Not quite but close enough. they are on the way to the process of it but fucking hell it really is on the path to fucking Wraithbone and its damn Clay!I want point out that clay is a very mliable thing and that Steel Champions made weaker version of motherducking wraithbone
Oh I didn't know that bit about clay, neat and very fitting and on point for Clay to be Humanity's wraithbone.its thematic too, as clay is sometimes referred to as the 'Bones of The Earth' or the 'Ingredient of the first Human'
Hahahaha, when the Primarch Father brings out the Belt, just run. This will be the last thing the DA will see when their dad finds out
Love the meme and it really is some bullshit but funny as Robot Girlyman made the Codex but it giving exceptions out.Complainers: This is blatantly against the codex!
Roboute: I'll allow it.
This would definitely feel like in universe and fan community joke of 'Guiliman's Exceptions' and I could see the Astral Claws arguing this as they build up and claim they need the same exception and it already exists. Granted though the Lightbringers are 'officially' compliant with the Codex with no one really knowing how many or indeed 'if' they have Astrates on assignment or in deep Cover with a chapter or organization. The Dark Pergeines are the only other ones who... kinda are breaking the Codex limit on them but are a fleet based chapter with the Companies so far away from each other and decentralized So its hard to tell what's up to date and if the Aspirants count and the scouts are in each company. its hard to confirm if they do meet the limit or not, and even if you make proof they likely fell under it when suffered losses. So just how much has this altered the course of history? Because you just know that it's going to get referred to at some point in the future when creating new Chapters in similar situations, or existing chapters that end up in a similar situation as 'Following Guiliman's Exception'. Like, I can absolutely see the Not-yet-Red Corsairs excusing their build up in numbers by saying that the lack of Imperial support has forced them to follow the 'Steel Champion Exception' in order to fulfil their mandate.
And that's only the obvious one. I can definitely expect multiple other Chapters to be end up accepted as being a 'Reinforced Chapter' due to necessity even if the High Lords really hate all the issues that come with it. But less than they do needed to squeeze two new Chapters into the same general location to fulfil the role that single Chapter would otherwise do.
Admittedly, the Reinforced Chapters are likely under some of the heaviest scrutiny of all Astartes Chapters just in case...
Oh shit, I didn't even think of that. Its literally a WALL that details every wrong/sin the Dark Angels Space Marine Chapter has done and thus gives them leverage to use over the Dark Angel and their Successor Chapters, so they can have claims and moves against them due to that.... oh and the mistaken assumption the Steel Champions have that the Dark Angels are Legion building with all the ties they have to their Successor chapters. We really made their lives hell and I wonder how the Dark Angel Cavalry chapter will be due to that?... This is absolutely a Sacred Relic to the Inquisition, isn't it? Both because it gives them an easy record on all the misdeeds of the Dark Angels that doesn't 'mysteriously get set on fire, explode and disappear though not necessarily in that order' whenever a Dark Angels descended Chapter is in the local region and also because it gives them massive blackmail on the Dark Angels.
Hahaha, honestly? with how 40k is and GW does things, the funny thing is this would be totally plausible or legit based on how you look at it. It would be for good reason but I wonder how 40k fans would view or say about it? you know, besides the Ork Fans cheering. Not confirming or denying but Gorkules very existence and rampage was definitely censored beyond belief in the OG timeline.
Same thing with a lot of Ork Warlords from Greeeze.
In this timeline the fact that Steel Champions are in a perpetual state of back and forth with said Orks over a piece of pottery is considered one of the chapters more quirky traits.
HAHAHA, they could! they could actually trap a daemon primarch with that! not for long maybe but its possible. and they would be tracking down their Primarch for that.Meanwhile Steel champions: GET THAT BACK WE NEED TO PUT DISGRACE OF OUR GENESEED DONOR IN THIS JAR
That too, when your backed by the High Lords or the Inquisition, you can get away with a lot. and it is funny the standard size one is the one he did for himself. It helps that all of the non-codex sized chapters Grimm has made have been the result of commissions.
Commission important enough to reach his desk and annoy him at that.
The one he did by himself actually is the typical size.
...... I hate it, if it was using the dread jar or they made their own thing it would just pokemon with Daemons. Wonder how the fandom would view it?The Chaos Warband Maker Quest counterpart to that would totally just be pokemon with Daemons.
Que the Emperor ordering a million jar and turning them into a crafting world and crafting chapter. and honestly? who's to say they Couldn't attempt to make a Jar big and strong enough to hold in one of the Big Four of the Ruinous Powers?Big E: HO-
Primarch: LY
Chaos Gods collectively shatting their pants: SHIT!!!
LOL you did a great job on it man. Bonus on finding the Jar with a Daemon in it and the Tau not understanding it as its just clay but using Psyker powers on and in it and they don't have it so they couldn't find out what was making it as such.A.N: Decided to write about what would happen if the Tau found a daemon pot.
A reasonable thing to do when finding it and thinking its the result of technology. Like seriously if they could figure it out it would be a big game changer in logistics to be able to do shit like that in mass.At first glance they appear to be simple baked clay pots, beautiful ones at that, usually depicting Gue'ron'sha warriors in battles against the Be'gel.
Initially dismissed by the clean up teams until one Fio attempted to empty one out only to discover that the pot contained far more than its volume implied.
Preliminary testing has begun, but I have high hopes for this project if we can discover the secrets of this mind science then we can revolutionize our logistic systems.
Anddd that is their hubris right there, screw you with that view of pottery were blue skinned shits.Fio'Vre Vior'la Vsumvash: We have isolated the pots under the effects of the Gue'la mind science from the mundane ones which are now being shipped off to a museum to show the primitiveness of Gue'la culture when not under the guidance of the Greater Good.
Same, if they pulled that shit and LOST a jar they deserved death. How do you forgot or lose it!? I get hiding it in place sight and such but still....If fucking inquisition lost a pot with an exalted greater daemon I swear I will burn their souls
Pretty much, you can't really win against him so go for his pride and just refuse him battle. In this case just dogpile him and seal him in something and tow him to some place to be someone else's problem. It is a balm for the souls of everyone, and the humiliations hurt Lucius where his immortality cannot help him, his pride and reputation.
It is, able to influence and preach and spread ideology and build a the basis of it while being able to handle everything else needed to build a society around and able to bring it to life and keep it going. every step of the process.I mean that is arguably the best combo for spreading ideology/culture around if you think about it.
Hahaha, I think that would happen and it would be stuck waiting for the each to kill them so they don't have too. I do wonder how such a thing would go though.I can already see it: Primary Space Wolves with Secondary Thousand Sons. I can already imagine how both Primarchs are going to feel!
Lemen: Ah fuck, I hate Magnus but I can't kill my own kids
Magnus: damn it, I want to kill Lemen but I can't kill my own kids
Oh this old meme! Yah that's basically what my mind jumped to with a Space Wolves, Thousand Sun combo. Its also a fun subversion and trope to pull off with the beatdown that normally follows.
Officially before they were "fatherless"Ah so paying the price in blood for it, keeping a good portion of the Beast's focus on them and due them... wait, in verse what's the 'official' linage of the Steel Champions? since they got adoption its expected they aren't Imperial Fist Successor chapter so it'd be another one. We know its Iron Warriors and the brotherhood forged from this is amazing but anyone not in the know wouldn't know it.
True and even that was the joke of them getting drunk and being like dwarves due to how it seemed thing turned out with grudges, spite, and the like. Booze and being drunk as a coping mechanism, then the table and then the fucking Dread Jars trapping daemons. How do you use pottery and clay to a degree in this chapter that you did?Personally personally one of my favorite part of the Steel Champions is the fact that a big part of their flavor in their coping mechanisim came from... well the players suggesting they have a coping mechanism followed by me putting up a table for it and another player rolling on it.
It would not have happened if not for the players being creative.
