The Long Founding (Warhammer 40k)

So far my only idea is studying law, and as funny as Space Marine Dreadnought Ace Attorney is I don't want to lock it in just yet without even hearing alternatives.
I have an ever worse and more time consuming idea: they spend their time trying to assemble a coherent, sensible and comprehensive Imperial Code of Law. Or in other words, trying to learn what laws there are in the Imperium (I'm just going to say laws above the planetary/system level), work out why they exist and then attempting to put together a 'Codex Lex Imperium' that's functional and not totally corrupt.

Getting a lib boost probably helps focus the blessing of wisdom. Politics combos with law masters. Counter Intrigue helps deal with the shit shows they get involved in but not be hugely necessary.

Equipment wise it's extra dreads or spealisist ammo since the venom can probably be used to make special shells.

[ ] Counterintelligence Training: The Chapter is proficient in the art of detecting and thwarting enemy infiltration attempts.
[ ] Chaplains: The Chapter is blessed with more Chaplains than average among its numbers, and higher quality as well. Treachery and corruption will find it far harder to grow within their ranks.
[ ] Politics: This Chapter has grown adept at manipulating the surrounding political landscape. A sad necessity, in the increasingly politically driven Imperium.
[ ] Extra Dreadnaughts: The Chapter has more Dreadnought hulls than normal, letting it field more of the venerable ancients… if it has enough wounded veterans to pilot them, of course.

I'll vote for any plan that includes these.

Politics Scout Training and Librarians would be a powerful combination. Information gathering, diplomacy and prophets.

Just to confirm, how many Training and Equipment options can we choose from for this turn?

EDIT: Nevermind frog, only now I noticed you edited the extra training charge already, sorry. Everything fine now, we have two charges of extra training for everyone curious.

[] Plan: Imperial Resources Sentinels.
-[] Chapter Name: Imperial Resources Sentinels.
-[] Chapter Colours: Cyan and glaucous painted in chequered pattern, with bronze trim and grey shoulder plates.
-[] Chapter Creed: The pen is mightier than any sword. Sword can only kill a single man. Pen? With pen, a man can decide the fate of entire worlds.
--[] Battle cry: The tithe shall be collected!
-[] Chapter Symbol: Blue scales of justice, with owl wings at it's sides and abbreviation of Chapter's name below it.
-[] Scout Training: The Chapter's Marines are given more advanced training in the art of scouting, and as a result more of its Marines remain as dedicated scouts - even after being promoted from the rank of Scout Marine proper. They afford greater reconnaissance and intelligence gathering abilities, as well as improved capacity for stealth warfare.
-[] Politics: This Chapter has grown adept at manipulating the surrounding political landscape. A sad necessity, in the increasingly politically driven Imperium.
-[] Spear Training: The Chapter is especially well trained in the use of spear and javelin like weapons, this does not cover staves or polearms however.
-[] Extra Dreadnaughts: The Chapter has more Dreadnought hulls than normal, letting it field more of the venerable ancients… if it has enough wounded veterans to pilot them, of course.

So I had a thought that had me curious; does Grimm stay primarily on Mars for the majority of the time he is creating a chapter, Or does he gather the initial gene seed and work to be done on it and then travel by ship... or fleet? to the planet the chapter will be based on a spend most of the time there, since i dont know if he would want to use the specified worlds population in the chapters initial creation.

I personally think we should go for expanded Chaplaincy over Librarians.
We can place more psykers into Chaplaincy instead of Librarius, there are chapters which do that.

We get full use of their special precognitive abilities to boost their investigative and traitor seeking skills (instead of better fireballing ppl which is what librarians do).

Give them a custom title of some kind.

Also whenever this chapter fully purges planetary leadership, they can set up replacements which are more efficient and resistant to chaos or mundane corruption, while abiding with both local traditions and Imperial law.
Use knowledge of law, politics, knowledge and wisdom of the dreadnoughts and powers of the Chaplains to check these to make sure they are successful, both internally and from external threats.

I think, unless stated otherwise, the Chapters we are creating will be fairly standard, without any major deviations. And it's even less likely, with Smurfs sucessors, possible by all means, but considering that most Ultramarines succesor keep contact with the parent-chapter, they should be fairly similar, in Chapter structure if not culture.

Also, even then, how else we are supposed to train their Psyker abilities? I just can't imagine, another way for Frog to resolve this, we have Librarian training for better trained, space wizards, and so Frog will give us better space wizards.

-[ ] Marksmen: Even among Space Marines, the marksmanship of the Chapter is top of the line.
-[ ] Extra Thunderhawks: The Chapter has access to additional Thunderhawks, of both Gunship, Transporter and Annihilator models, giving them superior heavy air power.

Boy oh boy, I can't wait to have some ludicrously armed, incorruptible, supersoldier space lawyers. :V

I haven't seen a plan with Counterintelligence Training yet so I made one, politics seems vital to the very point of this chapter, and spear training seems like it could be interesting though I almost did scout training instead because that also seems like it could lead somewhere interesting when combined with the other options. But spear training just seemed more greek.

I like this plan, I just ask you make a variant with spears added on as we can take three training and you only have two.

Out of curiosity, what do you guys think of the Emperor's (and his sons) thoughts would be about our work and the chapters that are here?

Chaplains are who the chapter sends when they have to deal with a super Karen, or a geriatric old man who doesn't know how to properly file away his W2 form.
