This is not even remotely comparable to that. Dancing with three ladies, which was an option, would have been considerably less of a scandal then what pushed Viserys to go "Okay no, you're marrying Laenor, now"

Fair enough boss. But I do think that if we continue on acting so publicly that's where we'll be heading. I doubt Viserys will give us much more slack about us getting a reputation of fooling around with women then he did to canon Rhaenyra getting a reputation for fooling around with Daemon, which is what eventually lead to him putting his foot down by forcing Rhaenyra to either marry Laenor or be disinherited.

[X] Agree to speak to your father about this matter on her behalf.

And considering the personality and relationships of this Rhaenyra I doubt that we will ever be on that situation with Daemon...

I can see us getting into a massive tavern brawl if we go to explore King's Landing an someone gets handsy, but that would still be significantly less scandalous...
Also, yes, to be clear, Jeyne Arryn is absolutely a romance option if you wish.
I am against this mostly because it would meant that one of the very few wholesome romantic relationships with a happy ending of the setting (Jeyne Arryn and Jessamyn Redfort) will never happen...

I viscerally enjoy what is happening. :D

A friendship against the world!

I'd like to note that the update clearly notes that going to Viserys with Rheas request will likely go nowhere, which is why I want to bring Otto Hightower in as backup. Both of us together are much more likely to convince him, doubly so if we talk with Jeyne first and can get her on board too.

[X] [Rhea] Promise that you will bring up the matter with some people. Speak with Lady Arryn yourself and present Rhea as potential ally for her. Speak with Otto before approaching your father.

Sorry Jeyne, but I'm fully Team Rhaenicent o7

Azel I must ask, why you think Otto would support Nyra on this?

I think he might be willing to help us if we can convince him that annuling Daemon's marriage would do Daemon more harm then good despite Daemon himself being the one to ask for an annulment for years, but we probably haven't done ourself any favors in that regard by asking for Otto's help only after we've upset him right now.

There is a certain difficulty in deciding to act like we don't care about what the men in our life think of us, only to then ask those same men for help in our goals immediately afterwards.

[X] [Rhea] Promets que tu aborderas le sujet avec certaines personnes. Parle-toi-même à Lady Arryn et présente Rhea comme une alliée potentielle pour elle. Parle à Otto avant de rapprocher ton père.

Question: Does Alicent's absence on this list mean that what we just did didn't harm her view of Rhaenyra, or does it mean that Rhaenyra doesn't know what impact we just did had on Allicent.

Because there's a pretty big difference between those two, and Allicent has at least two different reasons for not liking Rhaenyra dancing with a girl here.

How? Like what arguments we will be using. Because annuling the marriage just frees Daemon to marry someone else and start having trueborn children and get support something he never had with House Royce. Sure Daemon prospects may not be the best but you can't tell me there isn't someone willingly to throw their daughters at him. Unless you convince Otto that Daemon might as well end up marrying Mysarya or a Valaryan Foreigner.

Because it denies Daemon the chance to try and exert a claim on Runestone through the marriage and Itto has been very consistent on taking every opportunity to screw over Daemon.

Since Daemon already married a second wife anyway, it's clear that the idea of monogamy will not stop him from pursuing other alliances, so there's no benefit for anyone but him to keep the charade up.

Like. The point is moot. The current marriage does not prevent anything you are concerned about here.

Well, she's described as having wide eyes and a face that is a mask. Alicent definitely thinks something, but doesn't seem to want Rhaenyra or anyone else to know what she is thinking.

I mean, we wouldn't come as supplicants but as, potentially, co-conspirators. We are not hoping that he does us or Rhea a favour; we are hoping he sees hoew this action is also in his own interest.

And if he can't separate politucal business from slight personal irritations, then he really shouldn't be the Hand.

Well Rhea herself is a pretty good match, being the heiress to an important lordship, hence why Alyssane arranged the marriage between the two, it's just that Daemon had been doing everything in his power to make it not work. Maybe we could frighten Otto with the prospect of Daemon inheriting Runestone in case he were to arrange an "accident" for Rhea? I agree with you though that our chances to convince Otto are pretty bad overall.

I think you are projecting your own distaste for our actions onto Otto there. He's not been shown to let his disapproval of our personal choices get in the way of a good political move.
