The tournament sounds like a lovely Robotnik family outing! We can send Eggman and Metal as our fighters, plus Sage and Belle. Maybe someone else to help chaperone while EL GRAN GORDO is in the ring. What could possibly go wrong?

So Avalaon in Post-SGW is vassal of the Eggman Empire but still exist as a country and have no civil war there, despite the Freedom Fighters.

I feel like people aren't talking about the most relevant part to us:
We are officially the only native big bad left in Green Hills; without Zavok there, the Restorationists are more likely to focus on us, without Black Hand there, it's entirely possible that our ceasefire with GUN might come into question.
We need to move FAST at getting territory and setting up because we are sudden;y a lot higher on the priority list
edit: This also puts Rouge's tempoary Hero-ship under question since Shadow is no longer within our reach

Hell yeah, time for a Metal Sonic upgrade spree. However if we can send more than one person into the tournament, we definitely need to send in Eggman too. And here's why.
Don that El Gran Gordo suit and roll well (while also doing well with the get back in shape action) we could probably kick ass, and when the cheering starts then we'll be all set.
Plus this would qualify for one our achievements I believe (assuming we fight Dural that is).

Alternately we send Belle with the medallion. Since that's less likely to end poorly.
This will be a full blown adventure again and all we need to do so far is to decypher the mysterious signal.

True but, keep in mind, you don't know hwo much time would it take, could take severa turns to get back, unless you take the fight there.
She also got the Chaotix on our side and repaired Roboy, literally adding three heroes to our side during the fight. She did her part. There were statements to the effect that she was surprisingly helpful to the point that we was one of the most valuable people in that whole thing through indirect means.
Also, there was no effort to actually leverage her and Canaan's Heart, instead trying to use trickery, which was the party's weakest stat outside Mystic. I'm not complaining about that, just pointing that out.
But who would we even want to send overall?
... If we get all three Medallions, would that mean we can do more team attacks?

Sounds a bit ominous about Rouge, still think she will stick around for a while if only because Shadow will be back to Green Hills and you can't deny Dr. Eggman is a powerful ally.
Still if she has to go I kinda want to make her a personal equipment if only to increase her odds against Shadow.
