Eggman was actually very impressed with Starline's intelligence. He just never said anything about it to Starline because of course he never would. Eggman said as much to Sonic and Tails, because it makes him look impressive for having defeated him.

This reminds me, I don't think Starline's Smartest in the Room trait fits him all that well. Starline's problem wasn't that he would fail to do things, it's that he would succeed immensely at doing stupid things. It's kind of hard to implement that sort of thing with the system Scrambled Eggs uses for critical successes and failures, but still. The mechanics don't really fit him.

Also I agree with Alatie that the city would be something like a superweapon.

That sounds like a "critical success on a related but unwanted action, on a critical failure".

Stuff like solving the Pronghorn Sisters health issue - with unilaterally decided roboticization.

Or succeeding on a recruitment action - by pure blackmail with attendant loyalty in the negatives.

Or, as canon almost went, by succeeding on fighting Sonic - by carpet bombing him from high above.
 
Wasn't Eggman also trapped in cyberspace for almost all of Frontiers? He never got to have her connect to the Eggnet in the normal ending where our Sage is from. Since this Sage is from when she sacrificed herself.

Basically a self replicating city is akin to a Von Neumann device. It keeps consuming matter around it until the entire planet is consumed. A step shy of a grey goo apocalypse.

Once deployed it doesn't need our support.
 
Think that any of our current confused units will break out of it this turn? One thing that I'm glad for, is that taunt doesn't lower defense in this quest. Since originally it raised attack and severely lower defense while locking in your opponent.

Belle didn't know what to do, more and more enemies seemed to be arriving, Clove was apparently getting sick, and this weird robot kept saying rude things!

So she did the only logical thing in this case!

Running as fast as she could as her wooden legs let her, Belle maneuvered the battlefield, avoiding the fires that the crocodile was spitting out (which ended with him getting slugged in the chin one more time), ducking behind the barrage of kunais that appeared out of nowhere, and seemed to do nothing to the weird skeleton rider, and avoiding the fire from that guy with a huge flamethrower and reached Maria and Canaan.

"C-Come on! We need to get somewhere to hide!" Belle shouted as she grabbed the blonde girl's hand. "We cannot stay here!"

"What are you saying?" Canaan shouted as she stayed near Maria, grabbing her protectively, something Belle found sweet. "That's not gonna be a good idea!"

"You think that's more dangerous than this?!" Belle shoutes, motioning to Piastol and Death Hound, rushing at the bulging red Demon, and doing nothing but scratches to his buff body, the demon responded in kind by hitting the bounty hunter with the same move as last time, sending her flying to the wreckage of the warehouse.

Belle couldn't help but wince…that had to hurt.

"...You make a convincing argument." Canaan mutters as she grabs Belle's hand and begins running, Maria and Belle following along. "We need to find a place to hide! Maria, do you know…?"

"I think so!" The blonde shouts as she turns back to see the demons and assassin noticing their action. "We're in the backstreets! Should be able to lose them easily!"

"After them!" The horseman shouts to the Jetpack Assassin. "We must not lose her! Her head must be brought to our Master! Do it or I-" That's all the demon could say before a barrage of missiles rained down on him and several of the assassins.

The raider was totally caught off guard, almost losing his balance but managed to regain it at the last second. The Kariki fighter saw the missile coming, but just stood there with his arms crossed, and as the missile hit and the smoke cleared away… he was perfectly fine.

"Yo! Fuckers, forgot 'bout me, didn't ya?!" The blue capped robot shouted as he did a small dance, not caring he had the attention of the remaining assassins. The flamethrower guy had managed to avoid being hit on his propane tank, which would have caused a messy explosion.

…The electrocutioner wasn't as lucky, a big explosion occurred and only pieces of him remained where once stood him.

"...Heya?" Roboy said, realizing he might have made a mistake.

Just then the revving of an engine made everyone notice Metal Sonic, who had been flying around confused, rushing straight to the masked, muscular Kariki fighter, going at max speed in order to ram him!

…And just bouncing back after crashing in the man's chest.

In response to that, the assassin cracked his fingers, then grasped both hands together, as he brought them towards Metal Sonic, with the aim of smashing him!

Hitting the ground and raising a cloud of dust, the Kariki fighter not only failed to hit his target, but got a kick at max speed for his trouble, throwing him several feet back.

As he was about to finish the fighter, a stream of fire engulfed Metal Sonic, courtesy of the remaining Golden Rhino, who kept firing at Metal, hoping the heat would damage the robot.

At first it seemed to be working, but what he and the others failed to notice was Metal being covered by a black diamond shape, keeping him safe from any harm.

After a few seconds of continuous fire, the assassin stopped it, hoping it was enough…and immediately got tackled my Metal Sonic, his jets going on overdrive as he flew, dragging the assassin with him and once he was high enough on the air, Metal took the chance to stare at the Golden Rhino at his eyes, expecting to see fear or panic.

He was mildly disappointed when only a blank stare was the only thing he found. Annoyed, Metal grasped the assassin tightly and rushed towards the ground at terminal velocity, and less than a few seconds later, he and the flamethrower assassin hit the ground at Max speed.

An explosion engulfed the both of them, but Metal was the only one that came out unharmed, staring with his red eyes towards the Pale Rider and the Oni, as if wanting to say, you are next.

"...So be it." The Rider said solemnly, realizing this was truly not common foes. "I realize I did not afford you all the appropriate respect. Allow us to fix that." He said as he swung his scythe, as his whole body began to shine brightly a dark color.

"Death is the fate of all living things!" He shouted as his horse neighing loudly, everyone bracing for the demon's next move. "Resistance is foolish!" And with that, he swung his weapon one more time.

Everybody was caught off guard when the Pale Rider did not attack Metal Sonic, or Roboy, or even the chaotix, but instead the Bounty Hunter, who laid in the ground, too weak after the Oni's last attack.

Piastol noticed the attack too late, as a sickly green wave smashed into her, her whole body was wrecked with pain, her existence set in flames as her mind was overloaded by the sensation and filling OF DEATH.

The Bounty hunter started to lose conscience as she saw Clove rushing at her, shouting something.
