To at least avoid critical failure in the Research the Warp Topaz we would have to roll above 25 if I understand right how this rolls work.
Yeah, really all it comes down or like if the gods of Rng on our side

It could go badly for any roll

There's spending three personal actions to have a re-roll, but we shouldn't do that every time

So why not take a chance on each of those things?

Getting Goro, studying the warp topaz

We have a pretty decent chance with a lot of them

I going to be real here and mean no offense but can you cut a little this Majima obsession?

We get it you like him and want to recruit him but you don't need to bring him back all the time.

Anyway Eggman has a Mystic stats of 8, Starline has a stats of 7, loyalty give a boost of 8.

So we have in total 23 in that actiin so is dollable to avoid a crit and even if we fail the roll would be lower and I am willing to put a +5 bonus in Mystics there as well.

Speaking of Starline I am surprise he does not have a trait to study the Warp Topaz consider that's implied he spend a long time sutdying to figure out how much safely he can use before it start to apply some nasty effect to reality.

Equipment from Eggman shouldn't be underestimated after all. I also want to do some woodworking so maybe we can become closer with our Tinker persona. Belle would appreciate it. Also, if we increase our Power, that's a step towards el Gran Gordo!

He kind of does have one, in the sense he is the only one who can use it.

I think people were gambling on this

OBEY EGGMAN: Metal [either has an automatically high loyalty or is fundamentally incapable of betraying Eggman on his own] and gains +10 to resist being forced to do so by outside forces such as hacking, magic, or the like.

I was really worried about it, but people seemed… pretty cool with it and I mostly lurk

So now that the vote is locked in I have to know

Why did you send Metal Sonic against the aliens that steal robots?
From what I heard from the others, to steal a new trait. I also think some figured this specific Zeti, being the pure muscle, probably has relatively low Mystic. Might not have been the best idea, but there was some planning going into that. Maybe not the best though.

*Zomon* is a bit of idiot like in the comics despite being trapped in a wooden cage and literally having the power to broke free by himself with no effort, he stay there while being placate by food of the villagers.

Even Zavok comment that was the most pathetic sight he ever seen.

Edit: I mean Zomon.

I raised objections in the past that when we fight the Zeti we couldn't just use Metal and Rusty.

But alas.

People also got too cocky it was Zomon of all people the most stupid of the pack.

But considering your reaction Shepard he ISN'T on that level.

A gamble honestly. Out of all the Zeti Zomnom is the least likely to snag and keep control of Metal.

If it worked out he should get something to help with counter it/ do it himself.

And frankly? If nothing else he'll get traits from our Heroes if things go wrong.

Lets keep in mind that Metal Sonic probably needs at least 1 turn of proper combat to.get the data.

If Zomon gets that hack roll inmediatly it probably won't get anything from Zomon

Now our other hero units on the other hand.

I didn't even vote, admittedly was already very one sided so it wouldn't have mattered much, and also the general idea is that if he does get anything from the Zeti, it would be the same electromagnetic manipulation that they have. Presumably allowing him to use it to protect himself. And Zomnom isn't exactly the smartest tool in the shed.

Being completely honest however, this is the one area where how the Raid mechanics kind of don't work in our favor.

We can't exactly make any kind of plan of how to best use our units. We just list them and the heroes and that's it. No plans or strategies. Just raw mechanics.

If we could plan a defense and strategy, then there would honestly be a lot more confidence on my part of Metal Sonic being able to get them by surprise. Because…that's kinda the point of what he did in Sonic Heroes. Tactically getting Bio-Data without getting caught. But we can't do that. Since you just ask us for a list and the heroes and you decide what happens.

Even outside of that. Our force should be strong enough to handle Metal if he goes awol anyway.

Of course if the Zeti can just steal half our army then we're screwed no matter what.

I'll be honest, Metal Sonic was mostly because people was for some reason worried about a super-massive first turn buff.

Think without that worry I'd probably went with Pronghorn Sisters. (and absolutely intend to do so wave 2.)

... thinking about it at difference from our bone and flesh minions.

Metal kinda cannot just rest and recover.

If the dices really screw him over we are going to probably spent one action in actually repairing him.

It's kinda like this.

If the Zetti can just instantly steal Metal Sonic. Our hero. What's stopping them from taking all of our army instantly as well? Leaving our heroes without any support. We can't really plan a defense around this. As strategies are not what are asked, just units and heroes.

If the Zetti can do this. Being honest, then there was no hope to begin with. Which doesn't make sense. So all that could really be done was take the risk. Not like there was anything else we could do. We can't strategize.

Besides Metal would not go and charge in against the Zeti unless ordered by Dr. Eggman himself.

He will understand he must avoid them, peharps even ordered by the Doctor himself. Like in his own PA about attacking the Empire:

Destroy Empire Property
The Empire are appropriate terror attack targets as designated by The Doctor. You still remember the humiliating footage of their valkyrie managing to match your ascended form. This is a completely tactical move and not simple vengeance, but if you have learned anything from your creator it is that attacks can have more than one benefit. The Empire will burn.

He roll high enough that not only accomplish that but spread his legend of fear and terror, because terror attacks don't work if some people don't live to spread the tale.

He use the doctor's own orders to also satisfy his desire for vengeance.

Kinda not, remember the Badniks are under Chuck virus.

So even if the Zeti retreat the reamining units on their side will too, as they are still loyal to them.

Until we can rescue Chris and Chuck and screw them royally over as Chuck is over on the chain of command compared to the Zeti.
