You could let him keep his skills and perks and just reset his attributes and level to the base of the new body. Like: original!Leslie was probably a level 1 body, but the new golem body is probably a massive upgrade in terms of base functionality. It might be an upgrade, honestly.

I mean, if he didn't do things in inadvised ways, he probably wouldn't find as many bugs in the game as he does. His official occupation is alpha tester and he's done a good job of it so far. It's be better if his admin wasn't an Earth type Aqua but it's definitely not the worst job environment.

Edit: Also I'm betting the main reason why this bug happened is cause there shouldn't be two lichs alive at once.
He just has a bug report program.

The requirements for actively bug-testing a game system that interacts with actual people would rapidly breach all reasonable ethical event horizons and make him a lot more like a budget Klarion.
Seriously look at what a lot of people do in RPGs, and imagine if the NPCs were people.

Alchemist does not want to live like that, nor did Terra-Tan make it a requirement.

Well, actually he should hope for it, because his new race has significantly better starting values and the stat points from leveling are probably significantly higher.
Even if he keeps his spell etc. and only the stat points are reset, he would end up being a lot stronger because he gets more points (+10 instead of +5) per level.
As long as he then power levels in Player Ones dungeon directly, he should have the necessary mana points again quickly enough to be able to use all spells normally.

So far the MC had tried to expoit the system where possible, so it would be fine.
But personally I wouldn't care, if necessary he'll get the points retrospectively.

I dislike the idea of stories avoiding power-resets to preserve progress. I feel that there is a lot more to progress than just current power-levels, and handled well(which is, I admit, a massive cop-out phrase) are just another step on the journey. Then again, a vocal qualintity do dislike them, and readership numbers is a perfectly valid motivation.
A half-dead WMD is actually not very useful.
but a half-dead research specimen kind-of is. The difficult part is finding researchers with both the inclination and means to research the mitigation and amelioration of undead horrors and the utilisation of undeath for constructive purposes, rather than just being normal people and turning it into a poorly-controlled weapon. I mean, even Wayne Industries will probably mess up and create a new villain... Maybe The Phantom would know somewhere that could do it?
It also really shows, because when applied to modern firearms instead of a muzzleloader, whoo boy.
Of course, there is also the issue of increased stresses. A hasted bullet is probably murder on a mortal barrel, and overheating would be a rapid issue without the necessary supplementary powers. On the other hand, replacing the barrel with a Wall of Force would be murder on target tracking, but provide ludicrous accuracy against a fixed target, and have virtually no upper-limit on propellant. On the downside, some things don't much care about kinetic energy, and while it can make for an effective delivery system, it has got to be difficult to pack a kinetic-energy-to-magical-effect converter into a bullet, especially one that will survive acceleration and function at impact, so most of the flash is probably wasted against a bunch of critters...

Is the divination spell 'True Strike' best suited for sniper rifles and pump action shotguns?

Alchemist: "SNEAK ATTACK!!!"
Deadshot: o_O ?!?!

I'm reminded of the Orc Assassin story.
Massive amount of points in disguise and hide, but the guy used a pair of maces (Or axes? Don't quite recall. Remember reading it around the time I first heard about wafflehousemillionaire) and would scream Sneak Attack! just before going in for the kill.

I wish I had a better memory. I think folks here would love that story.

That would be an extra kick in the teeth. On one hand, a little extra growth potential is always good. On the other, this is a manual leveling system and I'm not sure how I'd like to work that in.

I'll think about it!
Well, it could work that his physical stats are reset, but his mental stats are kept unless the change in brain affects things. Physical skills relying on muscle memory or fine motor control can be halved or more, while all other skills get reduced by one as he needs to adjust to the new body. To compensate his level is halved, or possibly set lower.
I'm also thinking of what happened to Captain Ginu in DBZ when he switched bodies with Goku to justify reducing the non-physical skills.
I'm just coming up with this off the top of my head and these stat changes probably need more thought, possibly adjusting them on a case-by-case basis with spells like Cure, Flare, or Haste only losing one skill level while more physical skills taking a far more drastic hit.
Losing levels to compensate is necessary, since the state increases from level-ups are a finite resource.

Are you sure your not thinking of Oinkbane the Deadly who used a large mallet?

I'd also have to figure out how to balance the perks.

Either keeping what he's got and starting at a perk deficit, meaning he can't collect new points until his level matches what he's spent. Or resetting his perks completely.

EDIT: Man, we haven't even thought about what'll happen when Leslie turns back up.
I mean, I've sort of got an idea... But now I'll actually have to put some real thought into it.

You're now my favorite person for the day. :D
My wife is very upset to learn she's been usurped.

1)I dont really have any suggestions about what happens when he jumps bodies.
But youd think this sort of thing would occur to Al before he jumps.

2)Leslie would have died and returned, while bearing souldeep marks of having been touched by a reincarnate human archmage, a Primordial Goddess of Chaos, and one of the Endless. Thats the sort of narrative and magic pedigree that makes for Chosen Ones and puissant archmages.

And alternatively for high value components in some asshole's magical doom plot, as Constantine can attest to.

Regardless, Narrative has noticed him, and he's unlikely to sink into obscurity even if he wanted to.
I assume Alchemist is going to put five or ten million dollars in a trust fund, stick some magic protections around him, and arrange for someone else in the line of work to take him under their wing if he's more conventionally magic than a Gamer.

Wont stop any of the real heavyhitters, but should serve as a roadblock for scrubtier operators.
I'd have suggested moving out of Gotham, but thats where his roots are. And at least in Gotham he can have Batman keep tabs on the more mundane threats.

Whether he has a role in THIS story otoh? Thats up to you.

Wait will original Leslie have magical potential when he is put back in the body does this mean Alchemist need to watch/teach Leslie control over it?

Well that specific corpse has been channelling, storing, contacting, and contract all manner of spooky arcane nonsense, so it would be rather more of a surprise if nothing lingered than if all of the things stowed away to make trouble and/or sparkles long into the distant future.

Plus there's the mobsters he beat up initially for stealing animals.
He didnt hide his face back then either.
Nor do I think he hid his face when he went dealing with Cobblepot.

There's a fair amount of both mundane and magical heat accruing to this face and body.
Worth keeping an eye on.

It's quite clear initially he wasn't concerned with returning the body to the original owner. Hence the first step would have had to be making sure his journey of justice wouldn't be connected to the body and face.
Tho I'm pretty sure some way he has twisted his mind into thinking that he always intended it.

To be fair, though, the original owner did decide to call it a life and vacated the body prior to his arrival.

About Leslie coming back into his body and MC going into his android body. I think that the stats would suffer an "adjustment" period to the soul getting into the body and not exactly fitting, sort of like wearing a new pair of underwear and the waist band is tighter than the bands over the legs (fellow men will understand what I am talking about).

Something like Leslie having an overpowered body slowly depowering as his soul can't support that level of power but exposure to it allows his soul to grow in strength beyond what it was until eventually they equalize in power (maybe takes a decade if Leslie compleltely neglects training, shorter and with a higher strength if he does?). And for the MC would be based upon the quality, material and level of technomagi involved in the relevant parts (brain, muscles, bones, internal organs etc etc) and strengthens to fit his soul through gamer shenanigans.

The MC has not modified his body.... as far as I reca..l...l...... well... the dragon ritual. :V Hoo boi.
Unless that's a soul modification of the MC then yeah, the body's still pure and standard.
Unless the stat points are tied to the body. Hmm. Probably tied to the soul, gamer system and all.

But Lez boy killed himself, he's so fucked. Trying to save him is pretty much a lost cause.

Also
True enough, but keeping the soul inside the body after the fact will be the challenging bit. Considering he chose to leave the mortal coil once already.
Well that depends on his experiences after chapter 1. I believe suicide disqualifies you from heaven which leaves... Well he could have instead reincarnated as a flower or something, or Didi, omnipresent/omniscient gal shaped force of battle that she is, might have picked him out of the standard procedure since she'll be taking part in his return. In which case the kid has been hanging around with one of the best people in DC continuity. Either way, I doubt he'll be wanting to die again any time soon.
