If we're talking about a setting Batman can stretch his legs in while providing for a good vacation there's always Naruto. It's had multiple games, would be a treat for Yuffie, has interesting knowledge in the form of sealing(and the various speed techniques), and the threats range from thugs to city destroyers.

Batman would adore the bilocation spell, if only because it makes him able to have Bruce and batman in the same location publically

heck a 3 use only bilocation ring is one of the best things that he can acquire

Aye. A well prepared wizard has everything and anything in his bag of tricks.

But a well prepared fighter or barbarian is mostly good for one thing.

A decent rogue is the skillmonkey, under normal circumstances very useful... When combined with a wizard that knows more than just 'Fireball!', though? The synergy is absolutely amazing. Such as the spell True Skill, which adds half the mage's spellcaster level to a skill of choice for one check. It doesn't initially sound amazing, but add +10 to a rogue about to do a stealth check and the gods themselves might lose track of him.

Anywho. They've been weakening magic to strengthen melee. Working on making it more and more situational instead of universally useful.

Jokes on them, though. Even with limited base utility an imaginative player can still make something incredibly useful.

Batman has access to the world's most powerful psychic... And her uncle. Teaching a child how to control her powers would be good practice for M'gann. Reinforce the basics that she's probably half-forgotten.

I'm honestly surprised that nobody has called me out on stealing it functionally wholesale from somewhere else.

Then again, maybe most of them probably weren't as boneheaded as me and actually picked the defend option when we were told that 'A true paladin will sheathe his sword'.
Though you where just quoting it, and had zero trubbel with an insert using quotes.

Using quotes to remind people is what they are for...

Reviewing what I have in my game library, my ideas for what game settings would be good for Batman stretching his mainline skills mainly devolves to Fallout 3/4/NV, the Metal Gear Series, Dishonored, Deus Ex, and Bioshock. And ultimately, I think that the Quest should be chosen for a Reward befitting Batman's needs, not Alchemist.

Hm, something for Batman to test things out. If it weren't for his 'no killing humans' thing, I'd say something from Assassin's Creed. He might like Kidd's treasure from III (the ring thing on Oak Island that occasionally deflects bullets), which comes from a string of side missions, kind of a built in instant quest there, with some variety in the 5 missions (4 map pieces, plus Oak Island itself). Then again, he might take it as an extra challenge not to actually kill anyone.

Well, that just did the equivalent of poking batman with a cattle prod. That's kind of Batmans whole thing so yeah, he's going to be going at them full steam thanks to that reminder.

RIP the Gov, they have it coming.
Yeah, the governments in most comics are so stupid at times it is a miracle that everything is not constantly on fire.

For games that could help Batman it depends on if he just needs time or is wanting actual opponents to face because there's some ones that are pretty relaxed that could be done like mario kart or mario and sonic and the olympics or one of the carnival games ones. The Inazuma Eleven games for example have 1, 3 and Go as being low stakes and relaxed enough that there's not really any need to get involved with the plot aside from if you want to say heal some of the people with injuries 2 is also fair enough to leave to canon though a little harder to justify since the bad guys are doing things like destroying buildings. Sadly though the best ones to go to aren't really the best for wanting to leave the plot alone since Galaxy is a tournament because the universe's biggest planet is going to be swallowed by a black hole but there are enough residents there that they'd take up 99 % of the other planets in the universe (they do take care of the black hole but it's the kind of thing you'd want to have a solution for on your own before going). Chrono Stone also has people messing with time, memories, brainwashing and very destructive people.

As for what they offer all of them have special moves or hissastsus while they are football based some of them could still be useful especially the dribble, block and save ones. There's also general skills like Big Moves! which increases the TP cost of moves but boosts their power in exchange or the earn more exp one or the stat boosting ones which are nice in general. 3 onwards also has hissastsu tactics which other than black thunder while the duplicates would have to be out to use could be useful. Go onwards also has kenshin or avatars which would be worth picking up and are something that in game would need an instant quest for since the tokens are very rare drops from the competition routes. Avatars are fairly powerful and all have a passive skill and a very strong special move and from Chrono Stones onwards can be armed to basically wear like armour which is a big stat boost (and let's you do moves for no cost). Chrono Stones also introduced Miximatches which while a big stamina drain while active boost your stats and let you use 2 moves or skills of the person or thing your miximatched with at the lv of mastery they had at the time along with their avatar. Galaxy also has soul transformations but the anime banned avatars and miximatches and I've not got the game if it's even been localised yet so I don't know how they stack up.

Other general things are that the stats used are football based so the equipment which is boots, bracelets, gloves and pendants boost things like kick, block and dribble in addition to things like speed, stamina and fitness points (Stamina gauge) which could be nice boosts. There are also points you can pay to raise each stat which is pretty cheap since it starts at 50 for a +1 at worst but can go up to +5 and caps at 1500. Each character does also have a limit on the total amount of stats that can be gained from this but Dave Evan's final notebook volumes in 3 can raise it with every character being matched to one of the 11 or so volumes.

If he wants actual opponents to fight bnha has the one's justice games so is valid and Fairy Tail has a switch game too or perhaps Smash bros.

People mention all those games, but isn't he limited to RPG games? I don't think I've seen him pulling out anything that was from something that wasn't an RPG. So things like Overwatch, Metal Gear, and even Arkham City, all are out. I don't know if games like Destiny or Outriders (lootershooters) count, just because they have stats on gear and some skill trees.

I don't get what you tried to prove here. Dark Souls is an RPG game if you didn't notice.
Also, the key word is "most", in "most familiar". I never played any game of the Titanfall universe, but I still know of Titans and the insane smart pistol.

So, somewhat random thought. Two of the people in the room at the beginning of the story got Gamer-ed. Leslie('s body) and Tiffany. But there were three others (Johnny, Tommy, Tommy's cousin pedo-Dave). Any chance weird things happen with any of those?

Having recently found an old GBA game in a box, shortly after reading an update to this story, lead me to think...what if the Grim Grimoire had Gotham to work with in making a fantasy world, instead of St. Ivalice? What would such a world look like? Any other gamer-adjacent type things that some higher power might have thrown into the situation that anyone can think of?

I apologize for how late this is. I've been trying to get caught up on writing, take care of things here and handle work.

As always, if anyone notices any major discrepancies, please feel free to point them out. I'm not bothering to try and keep track of the modified stat values at this point- It would nearly double the math I already need to do.

Found I'd missed a handful of Materia in the list. Command Counter, MP Turbo and Added Cut. Some of which were distinctly noted as being collected earlier in the story.

So, somewhat random thought. Two of the people in the room at the beginning of the story got Gamer-ed. Leslie('s body) and Tiffany. But there were three others (Johnny, Tommy, Tommy's cousin pedo-Dave). Any chance weird things happen with any of those?
Leslie didn't get Gamer'd. He learned magic. Probably the same way Al remembered things from Leslie's life, he now remembers spells from when AL was using his body.
Tiff got Gamer most likely independently from Al, and there's no reason for the rest to get it. This is not Worm to have mass triggers.
