Prince Aladdin Quest (Disney Villains *Almost* Victorious)

Okay, so t's been 24 hours since the vote was called. XP allocation seems to have fallen thus:

@DaOneInDaCorner - 3XP for the If At First You Don't Succeed... roll.
@jwolfe_beta - 5XP for the Tomes, Trinkets and Treasures roll

If I'm at all mistaken please inform me.

Hmm... So, the mage's profile has the word "bouncing" hidden amid the invisible REDACTEDs. Not sure what it could mean...

Edit: Went back and reread the section with the meeting with our new occult advisor, or rather their representatives, Cade and Leah.
She was a young woman with golden hair in a braid, while her companion was a young man with brown hair who stood near her protectively even without a weapon.
the other four had had a stiffness to their movements, awkward and slightly disjointed
Did, we recruit the Gummi Bears plus Cavin and Calla? The descriptions of the boy and girl match, plus Cavin was a page/knight-hopeful and would be understandably be protective of his princess, and the other four might not actually be four, but rather 8(ish) smaller beings, one stacked on another and hidden by a cloak. Plus the use of magic potions for various effects, and coming from the north and all...

What, did someone accidentally plonk Malifishmertz down while taping the local timeline back together?:V

Probably, the descriptions do match for Cavin and Calla while the bears are a good deal smaller than a human. To give a comparison, the adult Glenns are roughly half Cavin and Calla's height and the latter is supposed to be 12 years old in the show. The oddity is that there are four cloaked figures but seven bears living at the Glenn (if you include Gusto) while Cubbi and Sunni are way too small to make up anything larger than a human child. Of course there is the potnetial of some additions from the Barbic tribe that were living in Ursalia.

The biggest take away is this however:
along with their scant luggage, which had included a singular large leather and oilskin-wrapped package according to what the guards had seen.
If these are the Gummis, then this has to be the Great Book. And that thing is one massive doorstopper of a book.

Though the situation is rather tragic for the bears. Depending on how the various ISOT went, they might be the only ones of their kind on the planet. The only other potential locations would be Ursalia (which is up in the mountains in northern England/Scotland/somewhere) and New Gumbria (might be other colonies but that's the only one that confirmed to be populated) somewhere across the Atlantic, presumably on the eastern coast of America.

I simply thought that the bears were standing on each others shoulder.

They get a brief mention. A one-off sentence, so they're hard to find. Igthorn is basically one of Grimhilde's underlings as his holdings were gathered into the Mirror Kingdoms.
Ah, found it.
The Little Germanies: There are countless lands and polities forced into the orbit of Grimhilde who are not part of the traditional Seven Kingdoms, each with their own laws and lords but none strong enough to make their voice heard in the Queen's court. These lands form a patchwork of states, including bishoprics, free cities, petty kingdoms like Andalasia and Drekmore, and tiny tyrannies such as the marvel scavenging barony of Vulgaria. Each is a unique land with a storied history, and many are the treaties and obligations that tie them to the Mirror Kingdoms as a whole.
Though a bit surprising, I'd always equated the Gummi Bears being set in a pseudo-England. Not that important in the long run.

Warning : the author said that the quest start at the moment when these villains wins, so most of them probably don't have all the territories on the maps, rolls may change events to how they happen in the rulebook and the author might interpret the villains personalities differently. We will need to take actions to confirm the situations of our enemies and more. So it is not impossible that in the end all those plans will be scrapped in the end.
Please note that these aren't going to exactly match what's happening here in Aladdin Quest for a number of reasons.

-Horned King : aside from Chernobog who is FAR too close to feel comfortable (it may not be the case now but on the map of the regions breakdown his influence reach the Caucuses), I think the biggest danger closer to us is the Horned King, he should still be in Britain and not have any ground in France or Ireland for now but unless he had some very bad rolls this won't last and if he's given enough time he's going to do a reenactment of the undead scourge on Europe and that would be bad, in my eyes he's the biggest threat close to us. Aside from doing some research and intrigue actions to discover the existence of the Black Cauldron and destroying it I don't have much idea since our loss just add to his army and his loss unless there's not even bones left to raise, are only temporary. Finding Arthur to raise the population against the Horned King could also be helpful.
Also if the village of Gauls can be found in this quest any of the villains of the region getting the potion (Frollo, Maleficent, Horned King) would be bad.

-Yzma ; she is probably one of the biggest late game villains but she is also too far away to directly be a threat to us right now. Her reign should be stable (she replaced Kuzko who was an ass and nobody regretted and is probably dead or a lama somewhere). Her core territories are in irl the old Inca Empire which covers a huge surface, a huge population, and a lots of infrastructure.
She doesn't have any true rival in the region that could truly easily invade her territory, Tzekel-Kan would need to pass through Panama which will probably be a heavily fought region and captain Hook and the Blue Fairy can only annoy her at best.
And if she manage to advance into an industrial revolution (she is one of the few villains that I see could innovate that way, especially if she has contact with Atlantide tech) she could trounce easily Tzekel-Kan especially if he keeps the xenophobic traits that makes him disregard foreign tech. Thankfully I think she would first start to try to conquer the rest of the American continent before trying to conquer the rest of the world and that should also give us time (unless for some reason she try to invade Africa or Europe unlikely but my plans are made on assumptions). Maybe we could trade some tech or magic with her, (huge maybe). No true plans too far away to matter directly to us right now.

-Tzekel-Kan would have been a major threat if he was on the same continent as us but he is not so no plan for him.

-Governor Ratcliffe : like Yzma he is too far away from us to matter right now, and according to the information documents he might be replaced by his descendants that may be possible allies. And he probably doesn't have yet most of the territories on the map.
But we may find possible refuges of the different victorious villains in North America such as survivor of the Greek pantheons, English, Chinese, and many more that could help us liberate their homeland.

-Shadowlands : right now Doctor Facilier and his friends from the other side should be contained by Ratcliffe and Slim, but if he manages to vanquish them and expand beyond, he could become one of the main threat in the same rank as the Horned King, or Yzma and he is too far away for us to prevent those events if they happen.

-Shan Yu : surprisingly might not be an immediate problem he will first need to stabilize his new domain and it's easier said than done, and even after that he still would need to go through half the Asian continent to reach us and he has far closer targets to aim at, but he does have a big army probably bigger than the actual entire population of our kingdom. If he ever look in our direction we can win some time by becoming a tributary state unless he asks for too much. But if we ever have too fight him, I think it would be better to support a possible new candidate for the Chinese throne be it the Yellow Turbans or the White Lotus (we would need to make sure the replacent isn't a bigger asshole). We can also ally with Goryeo and the Viets to harass Shan Yu borders.

-Bald Mountains : just try to contain, even if we had the genie and made the wish of destroying Chernobog forever, I would give an fifty-fifty probability we beat him and even in victory we would probably lose everything. We can only contain gain power and allies and then do a repetition of the Last Alliance of Lord of the Rings.

-The Old West : too far away to really matter but Alameda Slim is ironically accomplishing our goals of a war menagerie if given enough time and good rolls he will even have dinosaurs. And let's not forget he can hypnotize animals when he yoodle. Frankly he is too far away to really matter but maybe he would like to buy some of our animals or he can sell some of his to us. But I don't think that Bagheera would appreciate that we trade animals it must look like a slave trade to him. So maybe wait to see Bagheera opinion about that sort of thing.

-Arendelle : Elsa is a close second as a threat level to the Horned King but she is more lashing in grief and anger than really trying to conquer anything and she will go through the mirror kingdoms and Hades first before reaching us, unless she tries to also take Chernobog in that case RIP Elsa.
But the bigger her territory the bigger a threat she becomes and her influence on the climate will provoke famines that even if we manage limit the effects of the climate, there will be refuges and invaders rushing to our kingdom.
Possible plan to pacify her and gain her as an ally, we resurrect Anna(if she is dead). Yeah I know, sounds impossible, but Hades (unless the author changed that) can raise the dead, problem with that is even if the author let him keep that ability, he probably only has influence over those that follow the Olympian religion and we would need to convince/force him to do it. Another possibility is to find another way to resurrect Anna, but if there's no other ways, or we don't find one in time and Elsa anger doesn't end with Prince Hans death, then we will sadly have to fight her, and between her influence on the land and her ice constructs, invading her palace might be harder to accomplish than vanquish the Horned King army.
The biggest problem with her would be logistics and reach her palace, now our general has a magic tent that is a perfect counter to the effect of the environment, but we still need food and our armies risk frostbites and more.

-Mirror Kingdoms : lots of potential enemies and lots of potential allies.
Queen Grimhilde is going to be a problem the moment her mirror tells her that Jasmine is a fairer beauty than her (her own population scars themselves to not be fairer than her), another problem is she will probably send assassins and poisoners or come herself to do the deed than send armies, and we don't know when she will start to send poisoned apples. So we will probably start a shadow war, our spies against her assassins.
Corona the kingdom of Raiponce parents, if we manage to find Raiponce I have no doubt that they will become allies, sadly if it was that easy they wouldn't still be sending lanterns. Also we need their horses to close the ditch with Shan Yu cavalry.
Also who is 'Professor R' ?

-Atlantis : honestly unless there a good reason against it, I think that once we gain a port and a navy we could start trading with Rourke, we could even make an alliance against Ursula. But we must be careful that they don't take the role of the British Empire in this quest, because I can't help but feel that's the kind of things Rourke would do. Might not happen for a while unless he has already territories in the Indian sea.

-Greece : Hades is a threat more because of the Titans than anything else, sure even without them he has access to army of monsters and demons but the titans are his ultimate weapons, frankly we need to send an elite force with carpet and take down Hades before the titans have the time to come back maybe we make a diversion somewhere where he sends the titans while we take him with assassins. Another idea is finding a way to free the other gods like Disney Zeus who is a nice guy instead of a rapist so we are not replacing one tyrant for another, maybe we'll need the help of Hercule or even Zagreus since he's been declared canon by the author. That aside Hades doesn't seems to be interested in expansion, he already got the prize he wanted the throne of Olympus.
Also if they are like that in this quest we could make an alliance with Sparta, Athens, and Crete (they are described in DVV Region Deconstruction as either rebels or unhappy with Hades reign) to make a big diversion for the titans while we take down Hades. We could also try to seal the titans again but easier said than done unless there's a new convergence of planets coming. Also we could find the three fates to ask some question to their eye.

-Archdiocese : This one is a mix on the threat rating because Frollo put his capital just between the Horned King, Queen Grimhilde, and Maleficent, and Hades has taken the boot of Italy. What makes him dangerous is his 'holy flame' that drives away magic and disrupt technology which limit our options to take him down.
Even though he's a zealot asshole that will burn us down for being an heretic to his belief, he's still the linchpin keeping most of Western Europe from being invaded from bigger threats, he's containing Maleficent, limiting the Horned King expansion and those are the biggest menace he's containing and his territory is full of possible allies.
Eric king of Porto if we manage to find Ariel which Ursula probably kept prisoner to feel her victory total (what does Ursula transform her victims into?) if we have proof that Ariel is Ursula's prisoner then we got Eric as an ally to take Ursula down.
Aquitaine, if we vanquish Maleficent and lift the curse they can stabilize francia and become our ally. Once again needs to vanquish a big bad for that and I don't know who will take the place of Sleeping Beauty kiss of love (what's the prince name ?).
Maybe we can find the Beast in Provence (since there's an omake that's been confirmed as canon where he's alive, but since he seems to follow Gaston maybe he's not here).
Iron Kingdom can be an ally against Maleficent
Frollo is without a doubt one of the villain that will be belligerent from the start against us for religious reasons, but ironically his inquisition is keeping even bigger villains away from taking western Europe but I don't think it will last unless all his enemies fall down some stairs and kill themselves.
For all I know next turn he falls some stairs of Notre Dame and break his hip.

-Aurora Borealis : it is a primal force of nature working on a different field of morality, it doesn't need to be our enemy but I don't think it will ever be our ally so best is to keep it neutral, since having it as an enemy will close us to the spirit realm and make us suffer from the literal environment and nature hating us.

-Ursula : the entire ocean is considered part of her territory, the biggest reason I didn't vote for a city specialized in the sea at the start of the quest it seemed she would hinder sea travel a lot. We could make an alliance with Eric from Porto and Rourke president of Atlantis since they would be the ones with the biggest interest to beat Ursula (Eric to free Ariel, Rourke to have an easier access to sea travel and eliminate a rival for the control of the seas. Also unless we manage to dig the canal of Suez or it's already there because of broken timeline, then to reach the Mediterranean sea, we would need to travel around Africa for the shortest sea route, so for now we are limited to the Indian Ocean. If we are lucky we could find captain Nemo and obtain plans to build Nautilus which would help us hide from Ursula but might present us to new dangers (show note of author)

Jaffar went from the biggest immediate threat and one of the main villain of the game to one of its lesser, he lost most of his magic at least part of his sanity, worst case scenario he comes back as a general of Chernabog or finds the Genie's lamp (let's be frank any of the villains finding the lamp is bad). A great example about how the Core information of the original DVV might be different due to rolls.

Africa and India don't appear on the DVV Region Breakdown.

-King Louis : Don't know where his territory is exactly because of different version of the map according to other DVV map, on one of those part of his territory is in Vietnam that's close to Shan Yu, let's hope they enter into war with each other, worst case his kingdom become a tributary state to the Hun, that or make a coalition with the East India Company since they recognized Louis as a human for profit.

-Bagheera : we could try to make an alliance with him, but I'm not sure he would appreciate our zoo or our plans for war beasts and he already described as being suspicious of humans. We need to have a way to communicate with animals if we wish to open discussions with his faction.

-Pridelands : Scar is like Hades, he has gained the throne and now he is satisfied with his conquest but he wants to keep it. So he would be occupied with the Queen of La as his main adversary, but if we ever ends as his enemy (something that seems to happen automatically if we beat a beast villain and Shere Khan and Kaa are rather close to us) then we need to find proof that he murdered Mufasa and most of the animals in his kingdom will rebel. According to the description his territory has basically become grey and barren (like in the movie) and many animals are moving to greener pastures, so on one side I think we can ignore him while his kingdom crumbles, but the Queen of La will have then most of the African continent if she annex it.

-Queen of La : She's the only character that I haven't seen any work about, and I don't have the time of watching the Tarzan tv show I'm too occupied writing this. But it seems she is similar to Scar, an uncaring ruler that is content with what she has, so it seems that unless the author and dice rolls make her take another path we can ignore her.

-East India Company : Beckett is basically an evil banker that will try to economically ruin us and then take control of our own country but he is unlikely to start a war since war cost money. He is also a possible trade partner but I don't trust him or his company.

There are more factions or villains but I felt that they maybe don't exist in this quest (Te Ka/Moana, Lady Eboshi/Princess Mononoke) or not powerful enough to make a plan against them, such as Ratigan and Hook, if they were closer I would probably have made some plan, but I feel that if we ever enter Ratigan territory we would have already been powerful enough to take down one of the big bad so compared to that he just doesn't have the personal power or enough territories or resources to be a dangerous player.

Once again all of those plans are made on supposition based on information that the author use to base his quest on but won't follow religiously he will take his own spin on it and rolls of dice will make fools of us all.

Rolls have been done. Imma need a minute... *goes to stare off into the distance off a balcony*
Case in point.

A Single Choice (Canon)
A Single Choice

Agrabah, two months ago.

It was the wind that did them in. That howling, screaming wavering vortex that waxed and waned at completely random intervals. It caught most of the arrows, scattering them wide or sucking them past Jafar into the rift itself.

Even in a world where all is hopeless and the most evil of individuals have won, sometimes the smallest changes and ripples can influence everything for the better- in the darkest of circumstances, there is always hope. So it was that five generic and common arrows were sent hurling through spacetime, to find their individual targets, and send ripples throughout the world.

Somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean

Ariel found herself helpless, watching as the sea itself roared with fury, darkness clouding the skies as Ursula dominated the area with her newly gigantic form, her father's trident held within her grip. Trapped in a whirlpool upon a single spot of land, Ariel moved as quickly as she could, the sea witch taking blind potshots at her with the electric blasts dispersed from the trident.

A spot of hope made itself apparent from the sides however, as Ursula gloated, holding her weapon aloft, lining it up with the mermaid, the sea witch crying out in triumph, "So much, for true love!" The tyrannical figure descending into laughter, Ariel's one hope in the form of Prince Eric aimed his shattered ship at the witch, bowsprit pointed at her midsection.

That single spot of hope was dashed in a one moment, with but a single whip of Ursula's tentacle, the enormous limb impacted the side of the boat and sent it tumbling over; Eric disappeared within the breadth of the sea, and Ariel's heart sunk with his body. With a cry of despair, Ariel watched on as the woman turned her eyes back to her, a horrific glimmer in her eyes and a wicked smile on her face.

"With 'Prince Charming' out of the way, I think it's time we finished this!" Cackling in time with the crack of thunder, Ursula directed the trident her way once more, and this time Ariel couldn't find it within her to move again. Breath coming out in short sobs, she held her head down, eyes squeezed shut.

So it was that the mermaid missed the sight of a small little slip in space appearing high in the air, a tiny object above Ursula and carrying with it tremendous velocity only bolstered by its downward descent allied by the force of gravity. A lone arrow of mysterious origin pierced the heavens and as if carried by the hands of fate, the object that couldn't be larger than a toothpick to the all powerful sea witch struck itself through her eye, entering deep and settling itself within. Ursula cried out in pain, the whirlpool momentarily disrupted as the water settled, lightning crashing against the sea in tandem with Ursula's fury.

"Who?!" She demanded an answer, magical energy lashing out against the skies. In those moments, Ariel found herself within the confines of the sea once again, looking about her surroundings - almost immediately she spotted the sinking form of a humanoid shape drifting away, the undercurrent pulling him farther due to the tumultuous storm. With a fervor she hadn't felt anytime before, Ariel rushed forward, fighting the current and racing towards the drowning Prince; his figure growing closer, she closed in on him, wrapping his torso in her arms. Terror and hope fought within her chest, and she frantically carried the man away, his body still and the warmth leaching into the waters of the sea.

France, the Beast's Castle

"Did you honestly think she'd want you, when she had someone like me?!" The cry was mocking and carried with it a hint of demented and almost manic hate; Gaston stalked the rooftops of the Beast's castle, makeshift spiked club in hand. Stalking the hunter, the Beast camouflaged himself in the shadows, the gargoyles close enough in shape to the bestial figure to disguise him amongst their numbers. The hunter slammed his club into one of the stone statues, growling in anger when it crumbled to bits; with deft movements, the Beast snuck up upon him, but with a keen instinct, Gaston narrowly ducked beneath the swipe of a claw, turning as he did to face the creature.

With wild abandon, Gaston swung his club, forgoing the normal hunter's grace he carried almost in every other hunt, replacing it instead with the barbaric strength and rage of a man lost to insanity. Dodging and weaving around every careless blow, the Beast was nevertheless backed slowled into a corner, the roof's edge only showing a cliff below which would mean certain death. With an angry shout, Gaston held the club high above him, screaming at the top of his lungs, "It's over, Beast! Belle is mine!"

In that single moment, the Beast's eyes narrowed onto the hunter, and in that moment, he abandoned the pretences of humanity, leaping forward with his jaw wide and aiming to sink his teeth into the face of the man before him. Shock alit itself onto Gaston's face, backstepping just quickly enough to avoid the lunge. His guard down, the Beast took advantage of it and seized the opportunity, arm swiftly reaching out and grasping the hunter's throat, whipping his body behind his form to hang over the roof's edge.

Crying out in panic, Gaston clutched at the claw around his throat, dropping the club and kicking wildly as he hung above the death drop. "Let me go, let me go, please!" He cried, the Beast only letting out a growl in response. "I'll do anything, anything!" He begged, the creature before him taking a deep few breaths, before his expression fell into one of self-loathing. Slowly, he took a step back, before releasing the man to the ground, letting out an ominous, "Get out."

Gaston sat on his read, the cold rain and wind keeping his body numb against the frightened beating of his own heart. The Beast stood, distracted by a voice as he left his opponent on the rooftop. Eyes moving to track his retreat, Gaston saw her… and his vision went red. Carefully, he stood again, crouched and his hunting knife now at the ready, as he stalked the Beast who held his hand to Belle's cheek. With a swift thrust, Gaston plunged his blade into the side of the creature's body, the Beast letting out a grip. Feeling his own body losing balance, Gaston gripped the creature's cape, throwing him behind and allowing him to plummet to the ground below - Gaston used those precious moments of momentum to clutch on to the balcony.

Belle watched in stunned grief as the Beast fell, unwilling to look away even as his roar carried off into the distance and he disappeared from view.

Beneath them both however, they missed the sight of a simple arrow slipping through space, striking one of the vines that dangled upon a cliffside wall, the greenery coming unfurled and falling below - they missed the sight of the Beast narrowly gripping the plant and grinding upon the wall, missed him losing his grip on the slippery object and landing on his back anyways, his mind quickly blacking out from the trauma inflicted on his body. They missed that the Beast was alive.

Africa, the Jungle Heartlands

His son stood before him, swinging down from the treetops like a savior, rescuing his family in a way that Kerchak had failed to manage. The animals were charging all around them, his people being freed from their cages in abundance. In the heat of the moment, Kerchak could only manage to clobber any of the hunters he spotted around him.

As the fighting began to stop, Kala rejoined with Tarzan, the gorilla hesitating and unsure if he should rejoin the two. That stopped with the cracking sound of a gunshot rang out, his son dropping to a knee before recouping quickly.

Kerchak traced the gunsmoke and found Clayton waiting , already lining up for a better target. Unwilling to give him one, Kerchak roared, before descending on the hunter with furious speed, bearing down on him; with experience aiding him, Clayton in a panic just managed to switch targets to the more immediate danger, pivoting his gun to line up a deathblow on the animal.

A small arrow whizzed by the hunter and struck against a tree with a quiet 'thunk', the hunter himself undamaged but the shock of it sending his aim off center as he pulled the trigger. His bullet clipped Kerchak across the shoulder, tearing through muscle and flesh but missing organs in the process, as Kerchak was still ground to a stumbling halt, falling to the ground.

His son was at his side in an instant, going over the injury before turning hateful eyes to the hunter. With a cry, he flung himself at his opponent, and while Kerchak tried to track the ongoing fight, the pain of his injury forced his eyes shut. Darkness overtook his mind.

When he awoke, Kala and Tarzan were gone.

Northern China

"If we die, we die with honor." Shang stood alongside his unit, watching the oncoming tide with a resolve that his soldiers couldn't help but carry with them. Fa Mulan watched with a sense of hopelessness at the situation. There were thousands of them on horseback, riding down upon the mountain in a massive mob.

Looking around for anything that could somehow save them… Mulan spotted it in the distance. A mountain peak hung ever further up, and with it Mulan had an idea.

Ignoring her Commander, she swept the cannon inside her arms hastily, the soldiers around her unable to stop her in the swiftness of her movements, Shang yelling out in distress for her to turn back. Ignoring that, she felt her lungs tear inside her as she fought against the snowy footholds around her, trudging up the steep climb and running headfirst toward the approaching army.

Lining up the shot, she jammed the cannon into the snowy ground, pulling a flint and steel from her pack and striking it, barely managing to get a spark going. "Might wanna light that about now, quickly, quickly!" Mushu offered his wise advice from her shoulder, while Mulan struggled. Suddenly, a bird swept down from the skies, knocking her flint and steel from her hands, the girl searching frantically in hopes of finding it. Stopping momentarily as an idea struck her, Mulan grabbed her Guardian Spirit by the body, before pointing his mouth at the fuse and pulling his tail. A puff of flame emerged from his mouth… and the fuse stayed unlit. On closer inspection, the fuse itself was damp from exposure to the snow, and wasn't going to be lighting anytime soon.

Despair creeping in, Mulan looked up to the sight of their enemy's leader, Shan Yu, readying his sword. His horse reared up suddenly as an arrow flew past it, and what would have been a death swipe across her torso quickly became a shallow cut upon her chest that tore her armor in half like paper; with a cry, she fell to the ground, the Hunnic leader settling his horse and preparing for a follow up attack as he looked down at the enemy soldier before him with a glimmer of amusement.

They were both interrupted by the sound of multiple cannons going off, as the soldiers below undoubtedly saw what Mulan was attempting to do and followed suit. Though they tried, many shots went haywire and only managed to strike lower spots upon the mountain peak; a miniature version of what Mulan had been hoping for but nonetheless, she watched as an avalanche descended downward, before she herself was swept underneath a torrent of snow.

She awoke later to the realization that she couldn't feel much of anything, a creeping coldness that took away from her the pain of the battle. Sitting up, she grimaced at a light sting that managed to peek through the numbness - looking at her surroundings, she found her breath taken away; the Huns could be seen off in the distance, maybe lesser in number than they'd been but hardly enough to make a difference, as they made their march towards the Emperor's Palace. Around her, Mulan saw hands shooting up from the snow. Further up, she could spot Yao shouting around him in a panic'd voice, "Ling, Chien! Guys, where are you?!" Nearby she hazily spotted Commander Shang pulling up fellow soldiers from the snow, executing the odd Hun that had been left behind as he did.

Beside her, Mulan could hear the sorrowful voice of Mushu, "I'm sorry girl, they tried but… there were just too many of them." Mulan found herself at a loss for words, her eyes never left the marching Huns.

India, Seoni Forest

"You are trying my patience boy," even as the tiger spoke, there was still some amusement in his voice, holding an eye closed and using the other to track the man cub as he picked up a fallen tree branch. Internally the tiger couldn't help but be in part humored and in other part offended - did the boy truly believe he could defeat him when prey far more ferocious could not? A man cub without even the usage of fire could never hope to kill him.

Finding his humor fading with the sight of the man cub planting his feet in the dirt and holding his branch at the ready, Shere Khan abandoned all pleasantries. "5, 6, 7, 8, 9… 10!" Speeding through the remaining numbers, Shere Khan turned and leaped, his claws at the ready. Mowgli dropped his branch in shock as he witnessed the predator before him, for the first time being truly frightened, for all that his spirit and naivete had protected him before.

He was saved by the timely interruption of an object falling from the sky, striking the tiger in the paw and leading to him barely knocking the boy aside in shock - that alone hurled the boy away, protected though he was from its claws, he felt his bones tremble within his small body, letting out a gasp of air and choking on it. Clutching at his stomach, where he was stricken, Mowgli curled in on himself.

"Blast it, where are you?!" Khan screamed out, eyes frantically searching for his attacker. Gripping the offending object in his mouth, Shere Khan recognized the item as one that had been fired upon him numerous times in the past… by man. With frightened and nervous eyes, Khan crouched low to the ground, flicking his gaze around and trying to gain sight of more of those man-things; had they come for the boy, he wondered, were they here to kill him?

The two remained still, a tense stalemate for the moment as Shere Khan stayed ready to flee at the first sign of more man things. Nobody came however, and against his better judgement, Shere Khan took another step towards the fallen child. "Curious," he muttered to himself, glancing down at his injured paw. Well… nobody had come, so for now he'd need to put the matter aside. He had a man cub to kill after all.

Such goals were disrupted by a mighty paw swinging itself into the tiger, Baloo charging from the jungle woods at immense speeds and barreling into his opponent. He was swiftly kicked off, claws tearing deep gashes into the bears midsection.

"Oh boy," Baloo mumbled, his heart sinking as he saw the body of the kid. His time to inspect the child was cut off quickly however as Shere Khan let out a roar, leaping with claws at the ready.

Taking the distraction, another creature stalked out from the jungle, turning his sights to Mowgli. Bagheera quietly approached him, nudging the child and getting a groan in response - Bagheera let out a relieved sigh, before maneuvering the boy carefully to his back.

Turning, he set his sights for the jungle once more.

"W-wait." Mowgli got out quietly. "Baloo… he's back there." Bagheera looked behind them, watching the friendly bear getting his face clawed into ribbons, the bear itself putting up a respectable fight but not enough certainly. From on high, the vultures descended to bat at the tiger with their wings, talons ripping at its fur and coming away with spots of blood. None of it was enough.

"Then we'd best leave while we still can," Bagheera responded sadly, before quickly fleeing with the man cub upon his back.
