"You're killing troll-men?" Eric's eyes blaze with a surprisingly eager passion, his smile wide and bloodthirsty. "That's all you needed to say!"
That's... a little out of character for him, at least before he went off to Jurgdby. You frown as he collects his weapons and armor before bidding farewell to his wife and children.
You decide to pry while on the way to the sinkhole. "What's got you so excited?"
"Troll-men are a lot bigger of a problem on the Jurgdby side of the Meinvaldfjord than they here and..." Eric pauses as the smile slips from his face to be replaced with a dark shadow, "there's a four-year gap between Leif and Leikny for a reason, Halla, and I ask that you not pry any more."
"I... I'm sorry, Eric." There's a niece or nephew that you'll never meet, isn't there?
"Yeah, well... let's just move on," he huffs, picking up the pace, "we've got troll-men to kill, after all!"
"...Right."

Do you chance upon an enemy? (Hamingja: 6x3, 5x3, 4x1, 3x5, 2x1, 1x3) 14 Successes, not quite enough to avoid everything.
After torches are lit and sunshine is shaken, you begin your descent into the bowels of the earth. It's fairly easy going, all things considered, but you stay on your guard nonetheless.
The walls of dirt quickly turn to stone, rough and hard to the touch. The ground is just about as uneven as you can get with all sorts of sharp, jagged angles jutting out every which way. It won't be easy to fight with this under your footing.
Every surface is marred with deep, claw marks — the scars of troll-men at work. Fortunately, while the surface is a bit low, you've got all the arm room you could possibly want! Which makes a fair bit of sense, given the sheer numbers that need to path through at a quick clip.
Eventually, after roughly ten or so minutes of walking, you come to a sort of intersection. But, before you get a chance to examine anything in detail, pebbles start to fall from the ceiling as the tunnel starts to shake.
"Troll-men," Eric growls as he steps forward, his naked sword glinting in the torchlight. He's spoiling for this fight and, to be honest, so are you. After all, that child was family.
The pack of troll-men emerge from the darkness and you prepare for combat, as does the rest of the group.

The tunnel is too short for any real vertical movement, so you're limited to fighting on-foot. Yippee. Fortunately, the tunnel is very wide, wide enough that twelve men could stand side-by-side with their arms spread out and only barely touch fingertips.
Unfortunately that means that the troll-men aren't as limited as they could be. There are, roughly, sixty troll-men approaching you at a ravenous pace. These are some hungry little fuckers, that's for sure. They're fast and possess sharp claws and tough, leathery hides. But, they go down easy. Very weak endurance, these creatures.
They don't seem to have much in the way of tactics and little in the way of survival instincts. However, that doesn't mean that won't work together to pull things off. One might sacrifice itself to pin you down while others move in to finish you off.

AN: Your first fight against troll-men! Lets see how it goes!
This is a very small number of troll-men, so it shouldn't be all that much of a challenge actually killing them. It's a bit like the battle against the draugar during the fight at the compound, just with less people and far weaker enemies.
No moratorium, have at it!
