Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

So someone brought up a good idea on SB.

Should we scan Lisa to check out her magic potential? Or should we wait to do it on someone like Vista?

[X] Trust no one – Verify everything you've been told before making a decision. You don't trust either party in this situation, but you can't completely rule out that Tattletale is telling the truth. And it wouldn't hurt to have Perfect Storm do some digging of its own for verification, so you'll take a rain check for now.
-[X]But make it clear that she's the one asking you for help, so it's best for her to watch what she says and who's secrets she's throwing around. You're well within your rights to take her down to the PRT right now since she's prying into your secret identity and she's a Villain, so it's best for her to keep that in mind.
-[X] Begin by telling her that if we were really as crazy as she says we are, she would probably be dead right now. Possibly ask her if the cops and robbers thing is how the world works, or just how she wants it to work. We are already moving carefully to minimize the probability and potential impact of our actions beginning a gang war, but leaving things as they are is an even worse option no matter what she tries to tell herself.

…I'm honestly starting to worry just what kind of person you think I am. :o
We as questers have plenty of experience with sadistic GM's. It's not the person, it's the GM. I know several sadistic GM's that are honestly likable people.
This, albeit with possible variations per person. My two favorite quests here are run by some QMs that have... problems with criticism.

One responds to most criticism with, 'suck it up and take it', or passes the blame onto the voters, which is echoed by his close friends. It is from him that I learned that the Supreme Rule of PnPRPGs applies to Quest: They are not democracies, but dictatorships, and the only authority is the (Quest)Master.

The other can takes the slightest bit of criticism, legit or not, as a personal attack and flies off the handle, leaving everyone to verbally tiptoe on eggshells lest he abandon the quest. The guy is also notorious for rarely promptly responding to private messages and questions, if at all. From him I learned the Rule of Priorities: What comes first in the mind of the QM affects everything else about how the quest runs. Dice, plot, characterization, spreadsheets, you get the idea.

I love both those quests despite their flaws, and both QMs are highly creative and intelligent people, but personal flaws can make it aggravating at times.

[X] Believe her – Everything she has said sounds above-board. You can't completely rule out that there were lies mixed in, and it wouldn't hurt to have Perfect Storm do some digging of its own for verification, but you'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

I hate to say it, but Tt's got a point there. She has an angle that much we already know, maybe with us around when she does her thing, it won't spectacularly blow up in everyone's faces. Or if it does, we can be closest to run damage control and tell her "I told you so!"

Yeah, at this point,

Could you explain this to me. I'm not saying you're wrong; I just don't see what you see.

Caught up to this after @Always Late made me aware of it earlier this afternoon. Very interesting so far, @Silently Watches.

three-part @landcollector?

From what I remember, Tattletale's plans usually have a tendency to go really awry due to lacking enough info. And then it sets off a really long domino effect that ends up biting everyone in the rear later down the line and all. That's why I'd rather keep an eye on her just so we can run damage control before she bites off more than she can chew....again.

You may think you did, but you didn't. None of us can read your mind, you have to spell everything out, otherwise we don't . If you really think these two are identical, you've got problems.
They are identical. I just assume that I don't need to spell out the obvious "assuming Coil is not a complete idiot" to people.
Also still proving Lisa right, by knee-jerk escalating when defensive.
In what way? Plus, I'd rather "prove the villain right" then let them go with information about our civilian identity.

Eh, rather not. Even if she has magic potential Taylor isn't likely going to teach her about it. So ultimately it's pointless to scan someone that doesn't even know about magic in the first place, if we as Taylor dislike that person.

Because it would just be something like this.

Taylor: -scans for magic potential and finds some- Huh.
Sam: hmm?
Taylor: Emma has a linker core.
Sam: Huh.
Taylor: Ah well, too bad she was a bitch to me for two years, we could have been Witch buddies.
Sam: -nods head- True, that is a shame.

And then they sip tea never bringing it up again. So yeah, scanning Lisa for magical potential is ultimately pointless in my opinion and it might actually reveal the M card to her and her shard since right now she is operating thinking Taylor is actually a parahuman and not a mage. Changing that would make Taylor easier to read.

...Honestly I hope Numberman doesn't have the potential to be a mage or does as a last resort because him with the power of manipulating reality with math is a scary thought.

Neither Lisa nor Coil are trustworthy for this Taylor. Lisa's right about Coil, even if she didn't bring any evidence. He will hold stuff over us, digging us deeper and deeper into his debt, while a the same time using blackmail to keep us there. Heck, we'll probably already be considered at least allies with Coil, if not subordinates just due to getting the laser rifles from him. After all, what defines Coil's men in the underworld? Mostly those rifles and incredible coordination. She IS trying to ferret out who we are, right alongside her telling us about being gangpressed, Honestly the killer stuff would have come up eventually with the PRT's inability to hold villains. Until then though, we're probably going to try and stay non-lethal from what I've read. Lisa just honestly took this the completely wrong argument. We're not quite the idealistic hero that Skitter was who needed to justify her villainous actions. All she's doing is burning any good will we might have from her telling us her sob story of being pressed into villainy by Coil.

Plan [X] Alpha Strike Nooblords
-[X] Tell Lisa that she's full of shit, but you'll see what you can do about the situation.
--[X] Mentally request Perfect Storm to track Lisa in a way or ways that she'd find difficult to impossible to negate, and hopefully won't be picked up by her parahuman power.
---[X] Kill Coil at your next meeting by flash-vaporizing his head (or the closest equivalent), preventing him from using any parahuman power that he might have by destroying the Corona Pollentia. A sneaky telekinesis-moved bomb right next to his head might work too.
----[X] Use the tracking to get back to Lisa and kill her. Come at her like a cruise missile so she doesn't have time to disseminate info on you in retaliation.

[jk] Optional: Dance over her corpse and tell her "Your skills are inferior!"

I know that you're joking with the whole thing, but this won't work. He'll already have split the timeline such that he won't be meeting us in one of the timelines. It's too much of a risk to do so with someone of either our or our dad's abilities. You've just let him know that we want him dead, and are willing to go through with it.
