Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

So a surgical suite is something we have to tell Tim to build? Or could the PRT/Protectorate do the surgery themselves?

Unless this is a part of the fact that its technically a magi-tech prosthetic and no one else knows magical engineering yet?

1. Don't worry about it. It's just something for me to amuse myself with.
2. Think of the Mk 2 Iron Man suit (the silver one from the first movie), and make it a matte grey and a little bulkier and without the repulsers.
1. Nah, it totally stands for Belkan Surface Warfare Knight. I'm on to you.;)
2. See? Totally Belkan design. :p
In exchange for unleashing a 30 kiloton nuclear blast at will and without (much) warning? I think you can forgive me for playing a little fast and loose with the term "safe usage".
There's a difference between 'safe' and 'nonlethal'. Minor change, big implications for us players to consider.

Is it me or our Ragnarok is a lot more unstable/poweful that Hayate's? I remember Silently Watches saying that we had the predecessor to the BoD Ragnarok. So, I'm wondering if the spell got either improved or modified for efficiency or limiting damage, or if Hayate was that much ahead of us in A's. She did have an Unison Device, but still, food for thought.

@Silently Watches, what's our Linker Core's ranking as of this arc, or do we need to specifically ask Perfect Storm to know?

Knight Armor – Full-body forcefield that greatly reduces damage received. This will replace your Barrier Jacket.
Question: would buying this permanently replace our Barrier Jacket, or could we switch between them? Seems like moving from witch imagery to knight imagery would raise some questions. As far as I remember, most capes rarely make such a dramatic change in theme.

Edit: Also, Lancer, I'm pretty sure our linker core is S-rank, unless I'm thinking of something else.

Eh, not something we the thread should be too proud about if that happens, considering we'd likely die doing so.

Eh, death is apparently only a minor inconvenience for us if what SW said a while back is true.

Of course, I'm not willing to test that theory - who knows what bad things would happen if we get ourselves killed - but still...

Tim has to build it. Part of it is the magitech aspect, part of it is that he's going to need to do a fairly substantial amount of surgery to implant the reactor and tie her nerves into the connection, and part of it is you think the PRT's going to allow an unknown bio-Tinker to start sticking untested tech into their thirteen-year-old Wards? Ha ha, no.

First answer, Calamity Witch's Ragnarök is the Warring Ages version, the kind you use when your ultimate goal is the total extinction of your opponent's race. The Book of Darkness replaced its original spell with an upgraded version during the Saint King Unification War, since during a civil war wiping out your enemies means you just slaughtered a bunch of your countrymen and collateral damage is something you need to care about. Ragnarök 2.0 is smaller, cheaper, and has a nonlethal setting.

Second answer, you're maxed out at S-rank.

I think rather than answer that myself I'll let myself answer it.
"Barrier Jacket," you echo. Your Device has said that phrase a couple of times, but you just assumed that it meant your costume. Clearly not. "How…. There's nothing there. How am I not even hurt?"

«Barrier Jacket is a full-body defensive forcefield. Aesthetics are irrelevant.»

So it doesn't matter what it looks like? It will still protect you the same, regardless if it's a full suit of armor or the skimpiest bikini imaginable? You stare at the dark red gem of your staff, starting to wonder about its claims of magic— No, this is Tinkertech, after all. Tinkers are famous for the absolute bullshit they're capable of. What matters is that you can walk through a hailstorm of bullets and survive, for that is exactly what you're facing right now.
Knight Armor is just a tougher and more expensive Barrier Jacket, just like Hazard Jacket is a weaker and cheaper one.

Minor might be up for debate.

So even if we submit it for testing via Dragon and got it confirmed safe that way - or hell, just give it to Dragon and have her present it as her own tinkertech just so it can go through the channels and get approved - we would still get blocked in giving it to Vista?

...Aw. I really like the whole Witch aesthetic though...

Given the upcoming Endbringer fight, I'll fully willing to go for a change in theme for more defense. But...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe what it looks like is under our control. I'd bet we could keep most of the old look while adding some armor plates.

Unknown bio-Tinker. Surgery on a Ward. Yes, still blocked. You can thank Bonesaw for that.

Did you even read…?

*shakes head*
*walks away*

I mean, this is a crossover with a Magical Girl series, and we've already crossed into the second cour! A second season costume upgrade has been a long time coming, even if Knight armor replaces our Barrier Jacket I see no reason to ditch the Witch look completely

Well, given the conditions to use Ragnarok without dying we know about, it looks as if we can safely say each .net method will have its own side effects. At least the side-effects appear to make sense, instead of being thrown in randomly.

How the hell was I supposed to know that?
Read Sw's posts to see the occasional frustration over the past, what, six months?
I mean, I'm sorry if SW got mad, but I don't really see the point of acting like I did it to intentionally offend them.
It's one of those things where intentions don't matter that much. SW doesn't have the patience for jokes of that nature, given that the people who seriously make statements like that are really a problem.

Okay? The point that I didn't do it with the intention to offend them still stands.

Silently Watches, if it bothers them that much I won't do it again. It's annoying, but I'd rather not piss you off by accidentally stepping on a landmine again so...meh.

So, say, if we hypothethically ran across Hayate and managed to not get inducted in the harem got on at least friendly terms, would we be able to upgrade Ragnarok to be less of a, um, Giant Fireball of Radiation and Doom?

I wasn't mad. I was disappointed.

…Sorry, but I rarely get to say that line with a straight face. :D

I don't usually mind jokes, even at my expense. I like jokes. I like to laugh. But as @Always Late has said, there are players for whom that would have been a serious statement. It's not everyone, and I think (or at least, I want to believe) that it isn't the same people every time but just otherwise intelligent people having an occasional brain fart. And it does get tedious sometimes, to the point I once threatened to call anyone else who asked a particular question a fucking idiot because I had already answered that question five different times in a two-day span.

Sure. That said, the chances of Hayate coming to Earth Bet are not much better than nil.

And out of curiosity, does anyone know where the Hayate harem thing even came from? I've heard it multiple times, but I don't know how it started.

*shrug* I'll just label any jokes with a /s or smiley then if it's that much of an issue. Don't really feel like having to go through this again all over a misunderstanding.

That'd help. The problem with written communication is that there aren't enough cues for when something is meant in jest or serious. Not your fault I couldn't tell your comment was a joke; blame the medium.

So what you are saying is we need to introduce Shipwright to the Protectorate so his tech can be tested and approved before they will let him install the arm on Vista? Even then I'm sure the surgery would be under observation.

I think I know one of the activities we will be planning to do in the future.

Lesse, Vita regularly sleeps and baths with her, Shamal makes several, eh, remarks towards her in the sound stages, Signum's whole knight in shining armor schtick, that also kind of applies to the whole Wolkenritter, and Reinforce and all her weird maternal, kinda romantic thing that gets dialed up to beyond the cloud cover and back in the movies and Rein Zwei's entire character, all in the context of Yuri is the Norm of the series, and, yeah, you can see how the fandom got ideas.

And Zafira, well... he is a wolf? ...And has ground spikes?

...He has a name, at least?

EDIT: As to Tim's Shady Prosthethics and Other Non Illegal Things Workshop, what skill tree would allow us to build a telepathic nullifier? At a personal level? At certain radio?
