Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

All I would like from the name is that it follows the general theme we've got going.
We have theme?
I mean Captain, Calamity Witch and Samantha, what do they all have in common?

I actually like an idea to continue Privateers theme.
We can call Enchancement First Mate, and Gadgeteer can be Shipbuilder.

Danny: "Why Shipbuilder?"
Gadgeteer: "Because I build things... and I ship you." *wink to Sam*

Also, while the teleportation thing you are correct on and I thank you for reminding me, the detail that minimal super-strength is needed to break them is very much a deal-breaker.

A deal-breaker for you, perhaps, but I feel that that just means it's limited to its niche rather than being useful in every possible engagement, and Ragnarök is limited in the same way. I do, however, feel that Ring Bind has more immediate potential use than Ragnarök does, so it should be higher up the queue of spells to learn.

I didn't see a mention of it stopping Breakers. Sophia doesn't need to move her limbs to go into her shadow-state.

I wasn't certain whether Sophia would be able to slip through Ring Bind's energy or not. Battery, of course, would be able to break the bind, so it would at best be a stalling tactic against her. I also forgot completely about Browbeat, so there's him, too. Still, providing solid utility against 11 or 12 out of a team of 14 is pretty good. Plus, it's still effective against unpowered mooks.

Again, I do want Ragnarök at some point (because it's awesome), but I'd be more comfortable getting Ring Bind this vote.

So, the only way to safely get rid of Lung I see right now is to throw him into some dimention in the middle of nowhere and loose the key. I mean, the that does not risk killing him. This is what the description of Dimensional Transfer says:
Dimensional Transfer (1/4 Novice) – Teleport across dimensions. You currently can only teleport yourself and those you are physically contacting. Indirect contact is effective for a chain of less than five people, but the longer the chain, the more strain it puts on the caster. Currently limited to alternate Earths; Aleph, Gimmel, etc.

Butcher's powers are:
  • The ability to cause excruciating pain at range and increased durability (I).
  • Superhuman strength (I, III, VI, IX, XI, XIII).
  • The ability to see hearts, veins and arteries even through walls (II).
  • Short-range danger sense against physical attacks (III).
  • The ability to cause festering wounds (IV).
  • Short-ranged explosive teleport (VI).
  • The ability to reshape unrefined matter into objects (VIII).
  • The ability to cause mindless rage at short range.
  • Immunity to pain (XII).
  • The ability to always hit with a ranged attack as long as the target is within range (XIV).
  • DRAGON!
  • Plus three unknowns who the QM can do some FUN things with.
Is phisically contacting a thirty (most likely more) feet long pirokinetic teleporting supernaturally durable mindshittingly strong dragon with a rage aura, danger and super-senses even possibile? Would this contact allow us to DT him to an alternate Earth with enough mana to DT/ST out of his way fast enough so as not to become a magical girl pizza?

I would propose a Temporal Sludge+ST for reaching him, but this depends on whether TS would trip his danger sense or not. I suppose we wold have to find this out the hard way.

@Silently Watches, could you please tell us if the mass of the person we are Transferring plays into the mana consumption and would upgrading the spell give us more carrying capacity?

Sophia would slip through just like Cadejo's dog-forms' limbs would. Battery… maybe. She can't apply continuous strength, though, so her bursts of strength might not be enough to break the binds. Browbeat I don't remember enough to know if his strength really gets supernatural (I thought he was a low-Brute mostly for durability/biokinetic regen).

Mass only plays a role in success or failure when you start talking about Endbringers. No cape is going to have enough to cause a problem. Upgrading the spell gives you range, though not much. 5 ft at Adept and 10 ft at Master. It's not a spell meant to take your enemies somewhere they can't harm anyone; that's what Recursion Field is for.
Anyone else worried about how Samantha maybe has festering wounds right now?
Eh. Just throw Amy at it. She's not dead, just having a mental breakdown. If that doesn't work, Magic.
Festering wounds is an active skill, not a passive one, and Lung didn't think of using it while he was all dragoned out. Because I totally didn't forget about that ability when I was writing the chapter, no sirree.

Thank heaven for occasional QM forgetfulness.

Hm... On the one hand, transferring Lung is possible. On the other, the range is still anemic and Recursion Field does not solve the problem.

If I remember right, on top of his personal biokinesis that he uses to bulk up he has some amount of tactile telekinesis to increase his applied power. I do not know the particulars of either.

If we can't transfer Lung if he doesn't want to go, is it possible to convince him to go? "I want to fight you, but I can't go all out here. Let's teleport somewhere else." Then, you know, not tell him we're going to another dimension or that Taylor can kill him without becoming the Butcher.

So, do we need to incapacitate BEFRIEND unwilling passengers before DT-ing them?

Good luck out-socialing the Butcher Collective.

Tactile TK would not let him break out of Ring Bind.

:D That would be amusing for you to try.

[X] Ragnarök
[X] Flare Blade

Had to remember that Cauldron's gone when I read the discussion of dropping Lung from this dimension to another. Doormaker would have been handy for that. So if we do go with that plan we need to keep in mind that we still want to scan the Privateers once we're back and to maybe actually find a world with DT we can dump him on?

[X]Flare Blade
[X]Ragnarök

I went and took a look at the spells, decided I wanted Ragnarök for Endbringers/Lung etc. and Flare Blade in the hopes it would unlock more defensive options in the skill tree... and find it's already a popular choice. Whooo!

So with this arc completed, I feel like we will end up heading back to Philly. And that means we can scan the Privateers.
One more step to letting TSAB know that we are wielding a Lost Logia.
