Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

That depends. Are you planning for Missy to learn Boost buffs to give to other people, or self-buffs that only affect her?
I figured with a Boost Device she'd pick up at least 1 healing spell(with her speed it'd aid in her being a great first responder), and a buff or two for her summons. Probably a defensive and offensive buff directed towards others.
For herself she'll probably end up getting at least cover for invisibility and maybe that mirage spell to make her harder to hit.
This is just my prediction of course.
A Shield to protect herself and others also sounds like something she would like.

Hmm...so is there a difference between Strike Boost and some self-targeting melee enhancement spell beyond just the potential targets? I mean, would the melee enhancement spell provide a bigger boost than Strike Boost would as a trade-off for the caster only being able to use it on themselves? Or is the only real difference between the two that Strike Boost can be used on people other than the caster?
The main difference is in who the buff targets. Missy can't cast Strike Boost on herself, for instance, though she can get a self-buff that has the same effect on herself only.

Honestly, I think Kayleigh shouldn't get a Guardian Beast. She's a D-Ranker, so she'll only be able to get the basic Gear Beast, and we've already got two of those. Maybe if she was a C-Rank or higher so she could potentially get a neat bonus skill for her Beast, I'd consider it, but she's got a maximum of 6 spells, so using one of them for another Guardian Beast of the Gear seems like a waste.
Given she wants to continue being a gun nut ever after becoming a magical girl, having a GB Gear is perfectly reasonable and useful.
Who gives a crap if we already have two of them? Redundancy is a major part of teams, you don't just cover each others weaknesses, you always have a spare in case one falls.
Importantly though, a gear allows her to get equipment and upgrades without wasting Tim's valuable voting slots. Not that she should need many.

Just to play devil's advocate, if you want Kayleigh to be a dedicated gun mage, she could use that spell slot that would be used for the GB ritual to learn a skill to let her make her own equipment and upgrades. Or give her a similar skill to the Gears' where she volunteers her time to give Tim an additional slot dedicated for her own gear.

There are a couple of ways to skin this particular cat.

I… don't know if I ever have described her, now that I think about it. Maybe it's in part because her personality is the more important aspect. I was picturing her as a blue-eyed blonde white girl. Nothing super special.
The only Kayleigh's physical characteristic you revealed is that she has red hair.
The redhead immediately squeals
The redhead was extra clingy yesterday

Hm. You know I hope we continue to social Paul. He seems to have his heart in the right place and using the enhancement serum we can give him enough power to at least handle street level stuff. And if he proves himself we can give him LCM once we've given him a couple of enhancements beforehand to minimize risk of deleterious mutations.

Itll be nice to be able to have a team that can handle street level stuff while Taylor and co. lays the smackdown on bigger threats like the Fallen.

Of course once Alexandra knows about the enhancement serum she's going to want them for the PRT too.

I know it's only been 16-ish hours since the last vote, but with as much a lead as the random generation Guardian Beast has, might as well close it.

Can someone roll me a d3 please?

 For once, rolling a 1 came out in your favor. Lacey will randomly generate a female Beast of the Tome from a dove.

The other choices were a snake-based Beast of the Rifle or a fox-based Beast of the Mask. At first I was going to have the dove be the rifle and the snake be the Tome because of snakes' significance in ancient beliefs about healing, but the Rifle has TK and the idea of giving a snake hands was just too funny not to do. :)

I'm not going to put the name up for a vote, but throw out some suggestions and I'll wind up picking one.

Next chapter comes out in hopefully ten hours or so, depending on when I get out of work. It has the vote for next week's activities, so I'll be up most of the night so I can answer questions. Just so everybody's aware, I'm flying cross-country tomorrow, so replies tomorrow will be spotty and rushed.

Oh yay, we got a buffed Tome! Admittedly the fox or snake both seem like the could have been useful, but I'm fine with Lacey getting a helper for her healing.

Female Bird companion for a white mage? Hmmm.....

Chocobocolina? A bit long winded sadly.

Garnet perhaps? Doves are still pidgeons and like shiny stones right, and it keeps the white mage theme.

Rinoa had more feathers in her imagery in-game though.

How about Columba? It's Latin for dove and the name of a constellation.
It is also the name of a Saint.
Saint Columba (Irish: Colm Cille, 'church dove'; Scots: Columbkille; 7 December 521 – 9 June 597) was an Irish abbot and missionary Evangelist credited with spreading Christianity in what is today Scotland at the start of the Hiberno-Scottish mission.
Patron saint of Derry, floods, bookbinders, poets, Ireland, and Scotland.
