Will she be, though? More durable perhaps. But physically stronger? Questionable.
That's what strength enhancing spells are for! :) Or, come to think of it, I suppose we could do a strength mod for Laura like we did speed for Missy, but I don't want to recycle stuff this quickly.
And that leaves Kayleah to trade fire with the mooks!
I was trying to focus on fights that would be relatively even.

About time we got a CQC focus combatant that isn't a guardian beast. Also it fits her. Plus she'll probably get a kick out of being a knight in shining (forcefield) armor.

Taylor already covers the long range bombardment role quite nicely, so having another melee fighter with eventually a larger toolkit than Samantha would help cover all of our bases. Also, having multiple melee fighters makes it easier to split our teams up when needed with one melee fighter working with each group on point as tank.

Yeah, Laura has constantly felt she's weak as she can't go toe to toe with any of her Winter Hill gang fellows. Being given a chance to be hard as nails and slug it out is one she would find appealing.
 
Not true. Armed, Boost, and Intelligent devices can all use WTF telekinesis.
But not Greater Telekinesis.
Greater Telekinesis – A more advanced and more powerful version of basic telekinesis. The maximal force that can be applied is based on the caster's mass. (BI)
And I'd like to avoid Laura's first foray into ultimate telekinetic power being a Breaker-tier spell. Not to mention the mana poisoning effect is kinda annoying for every time we need her to have more than minor telekinetic power.
 
If we did give Laura an Intelligent Device, what device should we then give to Standstill to make her best fit with the resulting team?

We'd have Samantha as a dedicated tank and Taylor as flying artillery who can off-tank, but neither Missy nor Kayleigh would be particularly tough and Laura would probably want to hang back to have clear lines of fire for the kinetic kill vehicles that she'd to shooting at people. Would it be best to give Standstill a Boost Device for dedicated support, or would we be better off pushing her towards something else?

And of course, how well does the choice of device work to fulfill the goals of the characters as far as can be discerned?

If we vote for Armed Device I'd like to have Laura's device have a sword form and be named Curtana aka the Sword of Mercy. Seems to fit how much she wants to help and save people.
 
On the one hand, intelligent blaster plays to Lauras experience and I like the way Taylors been doing more melee lately because Flaming Reaper is badass. Plus it leaves open the more obvious take on telekinesis some clamor for.

Certainly, if we gi e Laura an intelligent device , WE MUST give Standstill the extinction knight template so someone has the role. And it fits nice with her GB of the Shield even, as paired fighters.

On the other hand, even with doubled cross training range is meant to be where Calamity Witch truely shines, and people make excellent points about Lauras mindset (strong new blaster powers might reinforce the lie that her parahuman ones were weak, a different style of power is inapplicable to compare and think about) . And really, if things do get hostile with Winter Hill, or at least Nanoha-Hostile while we convince Jotuun and Angel Dust to retire to civilian life..... SilentlyWatches matchups are just too obvious.

Bonus fun, whatever we do or dont with TK, i feel like Armed Knight gets much more interesting use out of Cassiels Bullet Time and thats the cooler option anyways to me :V Though for Fate parralels, maybe less Saber Artura and more Lancer Diarmuid or Scathach ?
Standstill seems the least concerned about wanting a clean break, she just wants powers that dont suck, so playing backline support with Infinite Enhancement is just as fine and good to have a Shield GB guarding anyways. And a lot more to share with Maclibuin, while giving her healer powers to go use on kids is a looot easier to tame Legends reaction with than melee deathblender beside her Sisberian menace.

+ Plays to her past experience
Cons:
– Only has a Barrier Jacket if things go bad

Shorter learning curve.

I.E. She'll level up faster.

It's like in any game, take the double XP as often as you can.
