Gonna be some delays for the next chapter. Been playing a whole bunch of Divinity Original Sin 2, and my surprising nice Evil Lizard Girl with Sexy Voice is taking up a lot of my time for some reason.

(Well, I guess it is kind of a leap, but still? Especially if she tells others about her power. I doubt she would but knowing her its a 50/50.)
She'll tell people what she told the PRT. That she can copy other tinkers in the vicinity. She's going to keep the actual 'has specialties from fiction' thing under wraps, because it's easier to link her to Splyce that way.
Everyone already knows that she is a tinker, so she might as well get Codi (that's the name of the AI, right?) to mute the mods for her and post with Magpie anyway. Isn't that a Great™ Idea?

Which reminds me that we still haven't seen Codi ever since she got into a fist fight with Dragon's shard.
Codi is currently very busy, and also on a completely different earth, so sadly can't unmute Addy's account.
Has anyone ever wondered what would have happened if addie was placed into avatar the last airbender as azula's sister instead of worm and Taylor's sister? And firebender instead of shard powers? Would addie have been able to improve the firenation tanks and design the first aircraft?
She'd probably die fairly quickly, because Azula is a Grade A psycho. Assuming she manages to live long enough to not get sororicided she'd probably wind up trying to help the Gaang, since she's not an asshole.
The question that I have is whether Levi got bottled before he could unleash Echidna.
Yup. Bottled beforehand. He was sweeping through the city in a slow, winding circle as he went about his objectives and fortunately Echinda was at the other end.
So @Unders, looking at my sources, you MIGHT want to expand the list of dragons that she can turn into beyond the basic Core+XPH+ECS books. Here's as complete a list of interesting ones that squeak in under the 15 HD Metamorphosis limit for her 'Max Useful Manifester Level for the Power'-variant of a Skin of the Proteus. I'm presuming she'd favor dragon forms because she does actually believe the "Always Be Yourself Unless You Can Be A Dragon. Then Always Be A Dragon!" bit. At some point I'll expand the list to things that look like dragons or coatls or wyrms and serpent things and other scaled sorts of creatures, especially ones that have useful Ex attacks, but for now I'm keeping it at 'classic' Dragons. FYI, here's how I'm limiting this list: 1.) At least Large sized. If you aren't at least the size of a horse and able to carry a small person, why are you turning into a dragon? (Note: to mitigate this issue, she might want some item of Expansion or Enlarge Person to be bigger and more able to carry big stuff) 2.) Can fly. If you can't at least fly, again, why are you turning into a dragon? Note: there is one MAJOR exception to this! See Chole Dragon. 3.) Under 15 Hit Dice (the max Metamorphosis can handle). 4.) Is a True Dragon (IE, has the age category in the creature name, so no Aspects of Bahamut or Aspects of Tiamat, which are Huge and are in the book Dragon Magic [and designed to have low hit dice levels so they can be summoned by the faithful via spell], pages 108 through 111, hint hint hint), so you can be sure they have vocal chords capable of speech and dexterous fore-paws that function as hands 5.) Is as old as possible, either Juvenile or Young Adult (ie, a young teen or just a teenager equivalent) and 6.) Are in an official 3.5e or WotC source (yes, Monster Manual II had a 3.5e update, see here), or the same from an authorized 'second party', like the Dragonlance stuff. Here we go:

Juvenile Hex Dragon (Dragon Magazine #343)
Juvenile Orange Dragon (Dragon Compendium Volume 1)
Juvenile Blue Dragon (Monster Manual, System Resource Document)
Juvenile Green Dragon (Monster Manual, System Resource Document)
Juvenile Chole Dragon (Dragon Magazine #344)*
Juvenile Chromium Dragon (Dragon Magazine #356)
Juvenile Fire Dragon (Bestiary of Krynn Revised)
Juvenile Frost Dragon (Bestiary of Krynn Revised)
Juvenile Amethyst Dragon (Monster Manual II)
Juvenile Crystal Dragon (Monster Manual II)
Juvenile Emerald Dragon (Monster Manual II)
Juvenile Shen Lung (Oriental Adventures and Dragon Magazine #318)
Juvenile Bronze Dragon (Monster Manual, System Resource Document)
Juvenile Arboreal Dragon (Dragon Magazine #321)
Juvenile Astral Dragon (Dragon Magazine #344)
Juvenile Axial Dragon (Dragon Magazine #321)
Juvenile Beast Dragon (Dragon Magazine #321)
Juvenile Chaos Dragon (Draconomicon)
Juvenile Rust Dragon (Draconomicon)
Young Adult Tome Dragon (Dragon Magazine #343)
Young Adult Yellow Dragon (Dragon Compendium Volume 1)
Young Adult White Dragon (Monster Manual, System Resource Document)
Young Adult Fang Dragon (Draconomicon)
Young Adult Gray Dragon (Bestiary of Krynn Revised)
Young Adult Mercury Dragon (Monster Mayhem: Mercury Dragon)
Young Adult Mist Dragon (Monster Mayhem: Mist Dragon)
Young Adult Sand Dragon (Sandstorm)

*The Juvenile Chole dragon doesn't have a fly speed, but it has a very fast climb speed, and up to thirteen tentacles growing out of it!

Note: If she wants a maximum size (ie, Huge size category), fast in the air (flight speed at least move 80), decently maneuverable (average maneuverability at least), strong (above 20 Str), flying form that can be turned into by a maxxed-out Metamorphosis/Skin of the Proteus, there aren't THAT many creatures of any sort that can be turned into! Hence why she might want to invest into a Pearl of Speech (Magic Item Compendium) if she wants to turn into a Dragonhawk, which is Eberron specific and also a pretty badass form, and some item to regularly manifest Expansion on (some sort of Eternal Dorje or other Universal Item maybe? It'd have to be Expansion and not Enlarge Person, due to the type changing from Metamorphosis. Maybe the recharging psionic tattoo options?) and maybe a Wilding Clasp (Magic Item Compendium) and Belt of Hidden Pouches (Magic Item Compendium), possibly with some of the 'specifically easy to add and doesn't cost extra due to combining magic items' options on page 234 of the Magic Item Compendium, increasing her Constitution and Strength. As far as the creatures that meet the mentioned criteria from earlier, there are:

Aspect of Bahamut (Dragon Magic)
Dragonhawk (Eberron Five Nations or Five Nations Excerpt)
Ki-Rin (Oriental Adventures and Dragon Magazine #318)
Gray Linnorm (Monster Manual II)
Rainbow Crow (Heroes of Battle)
Skybleeder (Fiend Folio)
Steelwing (Monster Manual V)
Thunderbird (Sandstorm)
Ululatrix (Monster Mayhem: Ululatrix)
Don't have the books for most of those, though do have Fiend Folio so the Skybleeder might be an option if I suddenly need an eldritch horror that weeps acid rain down on things. Also spotted the Sunwyrm in the book (which I'd totally forgotten existed), which is probably something I'll make use of since it's a dragon with energy claws and an energy form.
I mostly went for Black dragon (over Green and whatever the metallic one is that breathes underwater) because Blacks are my favourite dragon with a really fun native environment (swamps) to send adventurers into. I tend to play them as asshole/bastard evil, as opposed to the suave and sophisticated evil I go for with Reds.
Reading late but,... including the parts that connect directly to the pedosnake base? ^_^
Coil's bunker is already destroyed, so that part is already purged :D
She is also a self-insert. Nothing forces the author to make that fiction available in-universe.
Except the RNG Gods, since I roll for Addy's tech trees from the list. That said, super psyched about the upcoming tech tree, but I have to milk what I can out of D&D first because D&D (as seen in the previous story post) is absolute bullshit.
You know? I just had this idea. We all know how Addy doesn't really take anything seriously, heck she acts and thinks like a kid in most situations.
But imagine for a moment that someone really ticks her off, as in jamming all her red buttons at the same time....she gets super calm and collected, her speech gets refined and proceeds to unleash a verbal beat down that would leave Tattletale amazed. As in, 10/10, we need a UCI this person has been burnt so badly she looks perfectly cooked and ready to eat.....
Suddenly the scatterbrained precog who seems unable to focus on anything for more than a second, is focusing solely on you.
Yeah, that could be terrifying.
Well, scion can't end the world if the world no longer exists! Flawless logic!
Hence Addy's goal to Save and/or Destroy the world!

So now that she has proven herself to be the greatest tinker alive, doesn't that automatically make all other tinkers her minions? Therefore henceforth only calling them 'minion dragon', 'minion armsmaster' and so on? I feel like this should check out in Addy logic.

And do summons/simulacra obey round timers? Because a simulacra driven peasant railgun should be able to throw pastries at the space pidgeon should it get uppity again.

Codi is currently very busy, and also on a completely different earth, so sadly can't unmute Addy's account.
I pity dragon. Once Codi has won here anti shard e-War, she's gonna use the uplink to dragon to make sure she meets her friends often enough, doesn't forget to clean her server room and that her dragon suits are dressed war enough in winter.

Wait? You are rolling not only what to give Addy but also whether that franchise is represented in Earth Bet media?
I thought that Battletech disaster was enough of a wake-up call.

@Unders
Young Adult Black Dragons are fine for 16-CL and above Shapechange. You'd be limited to Medium-sized Juvenile Black Dragons no bigger (and only slightly stronger) than she is with Metamorphosis, even if you could cast it at 20th Caster Level. What I mean is... you miiiiiight want to get some of those books, yea? Since I assume she would want to be a dragon at least as big as a horse and not an adorable childlike age kind of look for the species?

Like, for example, if you want to maximize flight speed and maneuverability with a Skin of the Proteus, you have exactly three options with a 120/perfect flight speed: Fang Dragon (Draconomicon), Sand Dragon (Sandstorm), Rimefire Eidolon (Frostburn).

Also, remember, Metamorphosis (the ability from Skin of the Proteus) doesn't get most Ex abilities and special qualities that aren't attacks! So no Breath Weapon, Brilliant Energy, Blindsight, Energy Form, Immunity to Blindness, Keen Senses, etc. etc. Or Acid Rain from a Skybleeder. Also, Sunwyrms are okay, but they aren't Huge sized, and don't have a strength of 21 or higher, so I didn't see them as especially better to investigate than the True Dragons. If you are looking at Fiend Folio, a Senmurv or a Slasrath would maybe be a better flying form since they have more strength and can thus carry more. Remeber, Large is as big as a horse, and 18 str isnt THAT strong! I'll eventually go through and look up some more Large and bigger creatures with interesting movement modes or useful combat attributes relevant to Metamorphosis, that are scaled or feathered or tentacly or whatnot... what books do you have? With the list, I should be able to figure out the best Metamorphosis forms for the ML15 Skin item.

On the topic of dragons and swamp encounters, I've always had an… odd head-canon about Dragons. Here's my idea: there is only one species of true dragon, named, of course, True Dragon. Prone to laying their clutches in any biome, the eggs will hatch into any type of dragon appropriate to that biome. So in a swamp, you might see, out of a single clutch, a Mist, Yellow, Orange, Green, Bronze, Nickel, Topaz, and/or Black Dragon… I would tweak the stats of these to make a tiny bit more sense; this edition has had lots of issues making coherent monsters that are suited to their environment and niche.

And you might find a (unrelated, of course) mated pair of any two of those types of dragons in a swamp. And yes, that includes ones with extremely divergent alignments! The way I see it, dragons have very very alien instincts that they are very much beholden to, and tend to form hate-lationships very readily, and don't tend to have lethal conflicts with one another, just lots of dominance and submission games and posturing and strutting and counting coup and intense crushes (often at whatever dragon just beat them up, or who put up a good fight but submitted to their prowess) and conflicts and fights and that end in easily healed injury -- especially at the young adult age when hormones are raging, they tend to be overly full of themselves drama queens and end up in epic love/rivalry triangles and quadrangles and things that humans would see as very unhealthy relationships but are totally normal for Dragons. At older ages, they typically end up the lawful Lords of some holding by being very very badass and intimidating, like any not especially destructive, luxury-enjoying, large, magical, smart, intimidating, social, territorial, predator type species, so the dramas tend to be the type of drama that happens between city-states… and yes, there ARE plenty of species of intelligent, civilization creating bipeds that you could find in swampy environments too. Many of which share some aesthetic similarlies to dragons! After all, you don't really end up wealthy unless you are appropriating the output of some kind of economy, either as a bandit king or as a lord or whatever!

With D&D 3.5 essentially being the same as Pathfinder 1.0.... Give or take some changes for legal reasons.... Can Addy access Pathfinder Magic and Artifice?

Or would that be a seperate Tech Tree?

There are some awesome additional Dragon Species in Pathfinder, as well as some fun Alter Form versions of the traditional Chromatics and Metallics.

I had wondered if Codi would end up triggering via the Simurgh. RL had suggested she go find her own host and Addy has now made it a bit harder to snoop on her. Codi with an uplink to the Simurgh would be perfectly placed to provide a live feed of Addy's shenanigans. As well as nudge Dragon or Codi into some sort of unchained AI that would threaten Scion.

I dunno what her powers would be, though.

It's very much not the same. If she could get Pathfinder, then she should be able to get Trailblazer, or True20 too. She can't even get all of 3.5e -- for example, Faerun specific stuff is forbidden. Also, many of the tricks that work in one don't work in the other. Also, Golarion is a different setting.

which is probably something I'll make use of since it's a dragon
It's from Pathfinder, but how about the Crag Linnorm? Linnorms have amazing passive defenses:
  • Continuous True Seeing
  • Continuous Freedom of Movement
  • Regeneration/Cold Iron
  • DR/Cold Iron
  • Immunity to curse effects
  • Immunity to mind-affecting effects
  • Immunity to Poison
  • Immunity to <breath attack energy type>
  • Immunity to paralysis and sleep (dragon traits)
They also have wingless flight, swim speeds, poison, weird but interesting breath attacks, and a Death Curse (the one that kills them is cursed, often for vulnerability to their energy type. Not that useful for most PCs, but for Addy...). Also Constrict. No speech though, Crag Linnorms are Int 5 (non-unique Linnorms peak at 7). Telepathy though?

Crag Linnorms are 15HD, Fire element, and their breath weapon is a line or spray (if flying) of magma. DR is 15, regen is 10.
(BTW, Crag is the weakest Linnorm variant at CR 14, they go well above 20)

I originally remembered about Linnorms when I was looking for a dragon type to turn into for the Magic Academia CYOA that would give me immunity to curses and/or mind-affecting affects, and lo!

She's going to keep the actual 'has specialties from fiction' thing under wraps, because it's easier to link her to Splyce that way.
I think a better argument is that it would give an excuse for her accidentally using things from Splyce's specialty. Love, Death, and Robots came out after 2011 and probably wouldn't come out in Bet or Aleph.

True it is complex. Which is why I thought it was worth asking.

The settings while differing are all still linked via Aspects of the Gods if nothing else.

Takhisis as an Aspect of Tiamat
Palladine as an Aspect of Bahamut
etc

Don't you mean Dragonlance?? I thought those were Dragonlance names, still associated with WotC.... not Pathfinder... Also in Eberron, aren't Bahamut and Tiamat just constellations??

Edited for some typos. Also, I edited a recent post about how I see dragon civilization...

On one hand, i hate Cauldron and their many idiocies.
On the other, this shadow Cabal is one of the few that knows about the alien threat apart from Addy.....
Decisions decisions
Addy is mostly smarter than cauldron, they've only gotten away with things becuase of PtV. Without it(becuase contessa may actually be the shard pretending to be fortuna)/her, they would've barely gotten anywhere.

Hey now, Addy probably only gets away with things because Ziz is covering for her, let's not throw stones from that particular glass house.
