Green Sun, Black Shadows (CG/Exalted)

Omake - Reaction, Planning (Canon)
Reaction, Planning

In a Britannian home, around midnight, an unusual conversation is taking place. Why is this particular conversation unusual? Well for starters, this conversation is taking place entirely in a new Infernal Exalt's head.

"All right, so let me just make sure I've gotten this right: The Big Bang was actually a living being who is now called Cytherea, she along with the other Yozis made the world, their servants who are the gods overthrew and imprisoned them with the aid of the Exalted, the Solar Exalts were all killed and locked away, two near-extinction events happened at roughly the same time which caused the planet to become a sphere, which was then, for lack of more knowledge or a better way of putting it, dropped into the vacuum of space. In addition, faeries are a thing, they're living stories, and they eat souls, or wills, or whatever, the Underworld is a thing, which about sums up the whole of my knowledge regarding that, and because I accepted your offer, I now work for the forces of Hell, and have a shapeshifting demon hooker who is also a mad biologist living in my head. Did I miss anything Namaht?"

"Well, you didn't mention how the Underworld came to be or the effects that has had, but considering I have yet to completely explain those myself, it's only natural. Also, I prefer to be called a courtesan, rather than a hooker. Courtesan sounds classier. But apart from that, you got the gist of it. Why are you summing up what I just finished explaining to you though Nathan?"

"Because I just wanted to make sure I got everything right. Goodness, though, it's almost like something out of a fantasy novel that was made while the author was on drugs or something. So, what now? I mean, I know what the Great Sphere of Speech wants me to do, but...well, I'm not sure about how to, you know, actually do it. I am not precisely great when it comes to social events, and I'm not sure how I could reveal what precisely Britannia will do and actually make it plausible. Hell, I didn't know that Britannia commits atrocities, and I'm a citizen! That's some pretty good propaganda right there. So I suppose what I'm asking is, do you have any ideas on what to do now?"

"Perhaps we could head to the island nation once known as Japan, AKA nowadays as Area 11? It has been chosen to be the staging ground for the Reclamation, and an entire Coven is either already there, or heading there. I was not able to keep up-to-date on most information once I left Malfeas. In addition, the Coven has the Marshall of the Althing Infernal, which governs the Green Sun Princes, as a member. He is said to be quite knowledgeable, so he might be able to help you. Plus, you're supposed to be heading there anyway."

"And...why is that? Is there an official order or something stating all Princes have to head to Japan ASAP?"

"Yes, actually. All Green Sun Princes are to report to Japan as soon as possible for further training. In addition, your efforts as an Exalted, and of the Defiler Caste, are likely to make the efforts to claim Japan as a subordinate kingdom to Malfeas go much smoother."

"I-I'm sorry, but I could have sworn you just said that we're claiming Japan from Britannia."

"Yes I did. The Marshall has decided that since Japan has a good number of advantages to claiming it, he proposed that it should be the staging ground of the Reclamation. Lord Ligier agreed, and now efforts have begun to wrench Japan from Britannia's control to seize it for our own. As I said, your efforts will likely make that process go smoother. Hence, the orders to head there. I do hope that won't be a problem."

"I'm...not sure where to begin. For starters, how precisely am I supposed to get to Japan? I think I might be able to get a plane ticket, but I've never actually taken a plane before, I don't know how to arrange that sort of thing."

"Fear not, for if needed, you can simply travel through Malfeas and Cycelyne, the Endless Desert, to reach Japan. Admittedly, it will take 10 days to get there, 20 for a round trip at the absolute least, but you'll get there."

"Well, all right. I suppose that's one thing taken care of. Next, will I be expected to fight? I'd honestly prefer to just work in a lab designing useful things or something at that nature."

"You will not be required to fight, but I strongly suggest that you learn at least some self-defense methods. Becoming a Peer of Malfeas has earned you a number of enemies, including Heaven, and they will not refrain from targeting you simply because you would prefer not to fight. If anything, working in a lab developing things for the use of your fellow Peers would only cause then to spend even more effort on killing you, as your works would only make it harder to stop your allies. of course, this is in addition to the fact that there will always be someone out there who wishes you harm, no matter who you are. Ultimately, while in an ideal world you would be free to work all you wish, reality is, sadly, not so kind."

"Ugh. Well, you do have a point. Looks like I'll be taking up some self-defense lessons. Still, though, I'd prefer to spend a while thinking this through before we head to Japan. Do I have a specific deadline that I have to fulfill to reach Japan?"

"No deadline in particular, but if you go two or three weeks without reporting in, then it is very likely that someone will be sent to fetch you. I presume that you intend to start planning for your trip?"

"You are correct. But first, you mentioned the Underworld earlier. It would probably be a good idea to explain that in full, before I have to deal with it."

"Very well. The Underworld could, at its core, be considered the dreams of the dead Yozi, who are also known as the Neverborn..."

With that, the unspoken conversation continued, until after dawn. And all the while, the Infernal plotted and planned for the future, and what it might hold.

With that, my second omake is complete! I thought I'd get into what someone completely new to the whole 'Exalted' thing would think of the story of Creation, and how someone might react to being ordered to head to Japan. I hope you enjoyed it.

[X] Bring Kaguya with you
[X] Malfeas

"I would be delighted by your company." You smile before snapping your fingers. "Lemmun."

"Yes Master?" The Naneke instantly replies, moving from his initial position farther behind you to your side in a second.

"Write down this message." You dictate, and the demon faithfully copies it on scroll. "Have one of the faster messengers bring it to Lady Berengiere, and tell me immediately if there are any concerns about Lady Kaguya's presence."

"It will be done!" Lemmun replies with a deep bow before darting away.

"You already have a most loyal follower." Kaguya claps her hands in delight. "As expected of Lelouch-sama!"

"Yes...except he seems to have decided that all on his own." You mumble under your breath before asking the raven-haired girl a question. "Do you have a preferred method of transportation?"

"If we are meeting with a Citizen, I believe using a palanquin is a must." She replies instantly.

Five minutes later both of you are on board a palanquin carried by six Angyalkae with their prehensile hair while they play the Harp of Time (that they make silence impossible to happen near you is a coincidence!). Quite luckily Berengiere's residence is situated on the same layer of the Conventicle Malfeasant.

"I never apologized." You say suddenly, surprising Kaguya who is seated in front of you.

"For what?"

"That day in the forest, when we first met." You internally sigh: if Kaguya had forgot you would have kept silent, but since she clearly remembers... "I meant what I said. But I was unnecessarily harsh." You look out at the street. "I was also a somewhat bitter child, but that's not an excuse."

"I see. Then I can tell you that you have nothing to apologize for Lelouch-sama." She replies, smiling sweetly. "Harsh you may have been, it was the lesson that made me what I am today: not just the heir to the Sumeragi family, but myself. I am Kaguya Sumeragi, and I am my own person." Her expression turns soft. "You were the first person to treat me as such. For that, I am very grateful."

"Kaguya..." You admit to be surprised at the younger girl's level of maturity. Maybe...maybe you didn't make a mistake that time. "Are you sure you're younger than me?" You say with sarcasm.

"Do no worry Lelouch-sama." Her smile shines like the sun. "I am more than willing to wait a few years to make our union official!"

"Wait, what?" You blink in confusion. "Didn't we agree to enter the same coven already?"

She just keeps smiling, looking to all the world like the perfect picture of class and elegance.

'Seyrun?'

"Drawing a blank here Boss."

{====}

Your destination is a large patch of barren land, closed off by large bone-white walls and gates. Each of them is etched with scenes of fights and battles, phrases in Old Realm all telling how this was sacred ground and must not be disturbed.

There is a single building close to it: a large villa of crimson and purple right in the center of the only road leading to the boneyard. Music and chants come from it, Angyalkae and other demons skilled at singing present all around the premise.

You are received at the entrance by a group of Neomah and Noresores and escorted inside.

When you see her the mistress of the house is indulging herself, singing on a podium while an orchestra play behind her. At the front of a crowd of demons keep time by clapping.

The Weaver of Voices is beautiful in form, with luscious curves beneath crimson-veined clothing that murmurs in a thousand quiet voices rather than rustling as cloth does. Her fingers are delicately shaped into rending points, the veil she wears hinting at a face both demure and tempting.

"Remember Boss, don't ask what's behind that veil. Beside, it has nothing to do with what you have come here today for, right?"

You mentally grunt in agreement. You can safely admit you are curious...but for the sake of necessity you can ignore such a minor urge.

"That's all for today dears." Berengiere says at the song's end amidst the cheers. "Now go back to work. There is much left to do."

Without further encouragement the demons scatter to do their duty, while the orchestra change melody and keep playing. Berengiere descends the podium, hastening her steps when she catch sight of you. "Ah! Dear guests!" She exclaims excitedly. "Welcome to my abode."

""May joy and fortune shine upon you Lady Berengiere."" You and Kaguya both say, bowing. "I am Green Sun Prince Zero, Chosen of Wise Oramus."

"And I am Green Sun Princess Kaguya Sumeragi, Chosen of Noble Szoreny." Kaguya continues. "Thanks for having me today."

"I always have time for visitors. Come, let's have some refreshment."

Said 'refreshment' turns out to be tea and snacks. Even if said tea has a strong metallic aftertaste, and the snacks while tasting sweet lack most of Earth's common ingredients in their preparation. What was used to replace them...you prefer to not know.

"Lady Berengiere." You begin after making sure to consume only the strictly necessary to keep up etiquette. "If it pleases you, I would like to talk about the reasons for my visit."

"Yes, yes." She says quickly, as if remembering it just now. "It was about the cult of...of..."

"The Court of the Black Jade Emperor, Mistress." A butler helpfully suggests.

"Ah yes yes yes. Now I remember!" She puts the tips of her nails together. "Goodness, there are so many. Apparently I am, for some reason, greatly suitable for raising cults so I must work hard. Something about a 'good impression'." She tilts her head. "Which is strange because my soul-sister Sondok also has great success among mortals. And while dear Sondok has many good qualities, it cannot be honestly said she is...what was called?" She puts a finger on her veil, where the lips should be. "A people's person?"

Seyrun laughs harshly. "The Guardian of Ligier's treasures? I would be amazed to find someone below an Unquestionable that doesn't fear her!"

"I am sure...that the mortals that venerate Lady Sondok are all worthy individuals that recognize and admire said good qualities." You say diplomatically.

"Of course, of course! My dear soul-sister is very good at what she does." Berengiere nods quickly. "Where we were? Oh yes, the cult. You said you want to request their services?"

"That's correct. With your consent of course." You reply respectfully. "I am creating a group of fighters for a purpose linked to the Reclamation, and I am in need of a civilian branch to handle the more mundane matters, and also expand recruitment among those who has yet to see the truth. Naturally I am not asking this for free: if there is something I can do for you in exchange, Lady Berengiere, you only have to ask."

"So polite!" Berengiere giggles politely. "There is no need to be so stiff dear, I am quite happy to serve the Reclamation however I can." She pauses and takes a long sip of tea before setting down the cup. "That said, I am sure you know of my craft, my pride and joy." She puts her hand together. "Something that's best done while in Creation. As such, as long as the new activities of my believers don't interfere with the time they can dedicate summoning me and my assistants, I have no objections."

"Of course Lady Berengiere. It's but a trivial matter to fix." You bow. "And if it would please you, I can arrange for extending said time. Something that would become more than possible with the swelling of our ranks. I was also given the impression there is a high demand for the material that in Creation is called Sakuradite?"

"Ah! Yes yes yes!" She claps her hands excitedly. "Indeed! A strange material this 'sakuradite' is: similar to Jade, but volatile and it's truly magical only when worked with external Essence." She leans forward. "It has all sort of INTERESTING effects when used in weaving."

"It does?"

"Yes! Just forty cries of Tomescu ago I exploded."

Silence.

"The cloth exploded. Not me." She takes another sip of tea. "It's my personal belief that it's the result of Pasiap and Hesiesh running closer to each other than before. A minority think it's a Sidereal plot to make Daana'd and the spirit courts of Water recede to free up more land, but there is always someone who cries 'Sidereal plot!' at every strange happening."

Silence.

She tilts her head. "Where I was?"

You clear your throat. "The Sakuradite Lady Berengiere. If it is what you desire, I can arrange to have suitable quantities of it delivered to you."

"And I can help." Kaguya interjects. "Since mine is one of the families trusted with its extraction. Most of what can be safely smuggled under Britannia's nose will be needed for Peer Zero's army, but I am sure we can spare enough for your needs."

"Sublime news!" She exclaims happily. Then she abruptly turns pensive. "Peer Kaguya, if I remember right you are working to gather all the cults in Japan under a sole organization? If the Makers so desire who I am to oppose it? Yet, the efforts of the Sidereals, and through them the Dragonblooded, to stomp down such cults have always been strong. Is it wise to leave trails that can be exploited to make such tasks easier?"

"You raise a good point, Lady Berengiere." Kaguya admits, still smiling. "That's why such efforts are half-way complete, and will remain so until we are ready."

Both you and the demon look at her. "What do you mean?"

"In one word: compartmentalization." She begins to explain. "Each cult has it own internal structure. They have contacts with a single agent of the organization to which they defer to, and only that. But there are no fixed meetings: the agent shows up when needed, and the cultists have no way of contacting him, though he shows up at least once a month. By the same token each agent handles a single cult, and they meet their superiors only when the latter contact them. Those superiors only have data about a certain number of cults, other groups handling the rest. All those groups then answer to me, through intermediaries that cannot be traced to me." She smile grows. "Each and every one of those nodes is unaware of the others. Some know they exist, but nothing more. The only one who knows of the whole web is myself. It's not a perfect system. It was not designed that way. But it will hold until Japan is free from Britannia's control, at which point we will connect all nodes and transform the system into Japan's official religion. Until then, no destruction of a single cell will endanger the whole structure."

This...is-

"Brilliant!" Berengiere claps, stealing the words out of you words. "This is, indeed, the cleverness of a true Exalt! But wait: Japan's official religion?"

You and Kaguya share a look before explaining your plan.

The reaction-

"My! How bold!! If Lord Ligier approves so do I! Quick, get me quill and scroll: we must finalize this contract!"

-Is positive.

{====}

"Here you are." Rakshata is there to greet you and Kaguya when both of you return, together with Akito, Milly and Leila. "By your face, I guess everything turned alright?"

"I would say so. Wait, let me rephrase that: I definitely say so." You raise the scroll with the official contract with Berengiere, surveyed and blessed by a priest of Cecelyne, before giving it to Kaguya to keep. "Since everyone is here, I presume something happened?"

"Not quite." The Defiler replies. "I just thought it was time to introduce you to Lillun."

Ten minutes later

"Do you know how, normally, at the death of their bearers Celestial Exaltations fly back to Yu-shan in the cabinet of Lytek, the God of Exaltations, to be purified?" Rakshata begins after the six of you board the wagon. "Well, obviously an alternate system to keep the Infernal Exhalations here in Hell was needed. And since our dear Masters have a habit of creating a specifically-made demon when a new issues pops up instead of using machines, they did the same."

"Lillun is a Behemoth." Akito continues. "A unique, special spiritual creature who looks like a human."

"Her official title is 'Phylactery Womb', since she holds the fifty Exaltations of the Green Sun Princes within herself." Rakshata resumes. "But she's mostly known as the 'Coryphee of Hope'. She's a living, thinking control mechanism."

"That's the truth Boss. I personally meet her when she put your Exaltations inside me. It was just a touch: the real challenge was keeping it contained until I could meet you."

'I see. Well, I suppose this fits the themes of Malfeas I've seen far. What kind of person is Lillun?'

"...It was a brief meeting. She just smiled and put the supermote inside me. Then she said 'May the blessing of the Yozi be with you'. After that I was escorted away."

"Though she insists us Infernals call her 'Big Sister'." Akito grumps.

"It would be a pleasure to meet her." Kaguya smiles. "I assume we are heading to her residence?"

"I wouldn't call the Basilica of Carousel Whimsy a residence, but yeah."

Only later, when you reach your destination, do you understand Rakshata's words.

The Celebration Eternal.

A lavish, incredibly huge party that has been ongoing for several years now, and it's intended to keep going for eternity. Upon entering the truly massive open-air stadium that is the Basilica of Carousel Whimsy you are meet with the spectacle of thousands of demons celebrating in what is probably the mother of all parties.

Milly's shrill of pure delight cements that impression.

And in the center of it is Lillun herself: externally she looks like a young woman around her twenties, hair, clothes, lips and everything else save for rosy skin is green. She dances barefoot with grace and elegance, the other demons giving her space while following her pirouettes around the place.

She is a divine dancer. She is also, according to your Essence sight, an absolute monster that rivals an Unquestionable. If the Yozi intended this to be a safeguard mechanism, they did extremely well.

Lillun keeps her eyes closed, and yet she slowly move towards your group's direction until she's right in front of you. Then she opens her eyes, revealing cherry-red pupils radiating unbridled happiness. She cups Akito's cheeks and gives him a chaste kiss on the forehead before moving to do the same to the others and you. When she is finished she takes a step back and speaks:

"In you resides the hopes of the Demon Race."

Then she leaves, rejoining the party she is queen of.

You suppose she's a woman of few words.

"Lelouch." "Lelouch-sama."

Milly and Kaguya both offer you a hand.

""May I have this dance?""

You weigh pros and cons. "As long as I am not forced to drink something suspicious, sure."

{====}

The following two days, or four cries of Tomescu, are occupied with your finalizing the details of your collaboration with the rest of your Coven. Thanks to Kaguya's open support your problems with money are gone, though you aren't going to abuse that or her faith.

Rakshata needs to finish a couple of projects and assemble her team before she can join you, but she is ready to provide the Black Knights with every technology they will need.

Kaguya took upon herself the duty to contact General Gene Smilas and convince him to send the W-0 unit to Japan. That will be tricky to handle, but you are confident she can do so easily.

And then it happens. Ligier comes, announced this time, so you have all the time to prepare and greet him properly. "I see you are ready to depart." He comments.

"That is exactly so, Lord Ligier." You reply. "We will probably not able to return for months. But I am confident our junior Peers will prove adequate replacements while we do our own parts."

"Let's hope so, shall we?" He smiles, putting his hands together, before his gaze falls on you. "But it's not to say goodbye that I am here.

Lelouch Vi Britannia. My Oversoul wishes to speak with you."

That day you discover Seyrun's screams of terror can be quite girly when sufficiently motivated.

"...If I may ask, Lord Ligier." It is only later, when you follow the Green Sun of Malfeas down a subterranean structure, that you find the courage to speak. "Am I allowed to know the reason for this...meeting?"

"You may." He replies simply, sounding like the whole ordeal is common routine. "Simply put, you managed to catch the interest of the King, Lelouch Vi Britannia. Not in a bad way, so you can relax." He turns his head minutely to the side. "But, depending on how the conversation goes, you may need medical attention at the end. Do not worry though, for I know many spells that can help and I will magnanimously use them if necessary."

Seyrun's whimpers get stronger. "How very generous of you my Lord." You bow, too nervous to use any kind of sarcastic tone.

"Ah, here we are." Ligier stops in front of an ornate brass door. "This place is saturated in mine and the whole Demon City's Essence. With a small push you will be able to contact my Oversoul's consciousness." He opens the door, green vapor coming out in waves, before stepping aside to clear the passage. "Do not worry if what you are going to experience will be confounding. Yozis do not think like measly mortals...what you will get is just a small shard that your mind will struggle to comprehend."

"Thank you for the warning." You gulp before walking inside.

"If it may help, I hope you return." Ligier says before closing the door. "I really want to see that plan of yours made a reality."

Then everything turns green.

{====}

"Then I don't want to be your heir!" You shout at your father, too angry at his complete lack of concern over your mother's death and Nunnally's crippling to care. The other nobles gasp and whisper, but you ignore them. "I've had enough of the fighting and the scheming over who will succeed you!"

You are throwing away your title, but at this point it's more of a libera-

"You are dead." The Emperor's cruel words cut through your mind like a blade. "You've been dead from the moment you were born. Who gave you the clothes you wear? Your home, your food, your very life! All of those, I have given to you! In short, you have never actually lived! And yet you dare to speak such foolishness to me?!"

He abruptly stands up from the throne, his intimidating frame and gelid cold eyes causing you to fall down on your ass.

"Lelouch!" Charles Zi Britannia's voice booms. "As you are dead, you have no rights. I am sending you and Nunnally to Japan."

Japan?

Fire

Chaos

Blood

The sound of machine guns and explosions never stop never stop never stop never stop neverstopneverstopneverstopneverstopneverstopneverstop

"As prince and princess, you will serve as bargain-"

"YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!" You scream, the eyes of everyone widening as they step back from the sheer amount of hate in your words. You push yourself up, every trace of fear evaporating as unbearable heat spread from the center of your chest through your whole body. "IF YOU WANT TO KILL ME WHY DON'T YOU JUST PUT A GUN TO MY HEAD AND PULL THE TRIGGER?!!"

"You dare throw a tem-"

"SHUT UP!" Were you of clearer mind, you would have realized your voice couldn't possibly come from a nine years old child. "SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!! SHE WAS YOUR WIFE YOU BASTARD! SHE HAD MORE LOYALTY FOR YOU IN HER PINKIE THAN ALL THESE VIPERS HERE PUT TOGETHER! AND NOT ONLY DID YOU LET HER BE KILLED AND HER DAUGHTER CRIPPLED, YOU EVEN LET THE CULPRIT GO!"

The guards roughly restrain you and put a hand over your mouth, but you bite it. When he pulls it away in pain you deliver a last line. "WHAT KIND OF KING ARE YOU?!"

A FAKE

The guards catch fire. The nobles watching catch fire. Even the Emperor catches fire. You stare there dumbfounded, watching with sick fascination as they are quickly burned to ashes by the green fire...all the while screaming in excruciating pain.

BECAUSE

The hall expands, growing impossibly fast, concrete and tiles being replaced by brass and basalt.

THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE KING!

Until you are in the middle of a cyclopean plaza surrounded by buildings so high you can't see the tops.

Every window like an eye staring at you with a pupil of baleful green fire.

"M-Malfeas..." You tremble, finally realizing the reality of the situation. You fall down on one knee and bow.

I AM

MORTAL. EVEN AMONG YOUR PATHETIC RACE, YOU ARE WEAK

YET YOU SPEAK OF STEALING CREATION BACK FROM THE TRAITOROUS GODS AND GIVING IT BACK TO ITS RIGHTFUL RULERS

WHERE DOES SUCH CONFIDENCE COME FROM?

Your throat is dry, words coming out like bloody nails. Yet you persevere. "I...have no other choice."

You take Malfeas' silence as a sign to continue. "It's true: I was weak. I had a weak body and no power I could call my own. I had to depend on the kindness of others, and every day I feared that those who have the power to strip away my freedom would find me and cast me back in the role of a puppet.

I hate the Emperor so much. And yet I hate myself so much more, for being unable to do anything against him. For being a weakling that had no choice but obey him.

Failure tasted like acid and ashes on my tongue."

Your hands clench so hard blood start to drip down from them. Your teeth grind against one another.

"But now, I have power! Even if it was given to me, it's still power! I can make my own choices now! I can think, I can decide for myself! I can make any miserable rabble that dare think they could order me around learn how much wrong they are!"

You raise your hand, clench it into a fist and then...punch the ground.

"I can destroy Britannia!"

Again.

"I can stand up to Charles Zi Britannia and crush him under my foot!"

Again.

"I can show the Dragonblooded who exactly their true masters are!"

Again. Your hand shatter.

"I can show the Lunars there is only one side they can choose, and the rest is a lie!"

Again. Cracks spread throughout your bones.

"I can tear apart the Sidereals' petty schemes and teach them what being a puppet in someone else's hands feels like!"

Again. Again. Again. Blood sprays your eyes.

"I can cast down the Underworld and those pathetic relics of a bygone era that dare call themselves Deathlords!"

Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again.

"I can tear out the Gods' spines! Make them realize what pathetic, corrupted wenches they are!"

Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again!

"AND WHEN SOL INVICTUS HIMSELF TELLS ME TO REPENT, I WILL SPIT IN HIS FACE AND TEAR OUT HIS HEART, TO SEE EXACTLY HOW BLACK IT REALLY IS!"

The ground shatters.

"I CANNOT STOP! NOT UNTIL ALL MY ENEMIES ARE DEAD! ONLY THEN I WILL BE ABLE TO REALLY LIVE!!!"

And the world laughs.

HOW AMUSING. ONLY YOUR WILL IS PUSHING YOU FORWARD

YET YOUR DESIRES ARE RIGHTFUL

YOU ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH

THAT CAN BE REMEDIED

Everything turns still...

Before your very hate ignite with the force of a wrathful sun.

{====}

The door is blasted off of its hinges, melting and evaporating before it could even come close to touching Ligier. The Fetich of the Demon City stares calmly ahead, eyes blazing and hands folded behind his back as boiling green vapor pours out of the entrance.

One hand wrapped in black emerges and grabs one side of the door.

Another hand emerges and grabs the other side.

Finally, with a mighty push Lelouch Vi Britannia steps out of the room, drenched in sweat.

And flickers of hateful green fires emanating from his eyes.

"How did it go?" Ligier asks with a small smile.

"The King...is most wise." He rasps out.

He snarls. "He reminded me that, before the world can be mended, the culprits must pay."

"Most wise indeed. As the one who is closer to him, let me impart another lesson." Ligier raises his head, smile morphing into a grin. "The best kind of hate...is the one that is colder than ice, but burns stronger than acid."

Lelouch nod.

"I AM ALIVEEEEEE!!!"

'Oh? Seyrun? Where were you?'

"HIDING MY ASS OUT! CAN WE PLEASE GO BACK TO CREATION? PLEASE? PLEASEEEEE!!!!"

Current Xp: 49 -> 39

Gained:

First Malfeas Excellency, Second Malfeas Excellency, Malfeas Inevitability Technique, Malfeas World-Shaping Cosmogony

The fallen King of the Primordials is arrogant, cruel and given to excessive displays of obvious force for the chance to show off and the sadistic joy he feels when enemies and allies look upon him in awe and terror. He is vast and full of hate toward those who betrayed and imprisoned him, seeking vengeance with indiscriminate callousness to the collateral damage he inflicts on the innocent. The Demon City is resilient and strong enough to lift the world or crush it underfoot. The green fires raging in his heart blight the very Essence of everything they touch, marking the world with his wrathful glory. He holds authority over all things wise enough to bow before the world's creators.
Characters may apply this Charm to any actions in which they choose the ostentatious or overkill approach over merely adequate solutions. Any intentional subtlety or display of restraint makes this Excellency inapplicable, including adding less than half the maximum possible dice bonus to a roll (rounded down). Note that force does not necessarily equate to violence. A forceful seduction in which an Infernal confidently orders a prospective paramour to accompany him rather than cajoling or flattering her can benefit from this Charm just as readily as a stomp delivered to a prone enemy's face. Strangely, the power of Malfeas may also enhance any Performance action to dance or create music. These are the secret pleasures of the Demon City that embarrass Ligier.

Malfeas Mythos Exultant

The Demon Emperor works his wrath through the sheer power of his terrible will, calling boundless power out of hatred and fury. A stunt enhanced by this Charm allows the Green Sun Prince to pay a point of Willpower in place of up to (Essence) motes when activating an Excellency of Malfeas to enhance the stunted action.

A cold, quick bath to clean yourself and cool down your boiling spirits, and you join Milly on the journey through Cecelyne, and back to Earth.

You have begun the five-days travel across Cecelyne! What do you do during it?

"Aaaah. Home, sweet home." You sigh contently at the sight of Ashford Academy at night, illuminated by a pale moon. Eager to see Nunnaly again you walk quickly to your home, pass by the shrine with your photo surrounded by candles and reach the doorkno-

CRASH!!

The sound of something breaking startles Nunnaly, while C.C. just keeps drinking the soup, wishing it was pizza even if it's good.

The door is slammed open with a kick. Lelouch is standing in the doorway, a photo between his teeth and murder in his eyes, while behind him flames devour the shrine.

"Welcome back Lelouch." C.C. greets him with a small grin.

She let it happen.

She let it happen.

Ooh, she is so gonna pay!

"I was securing my future Rivalz. Hardly a vacation." You roll your eyes. "Also, I will need your help this afternoon."

"Ooh? Did you find another fat, rich noble to wring out of all his money?"

"No. We need to destroy my fan club before it becomes a real cult and starts stealing my clothes."

You open the door to your classroom and step inside.

What to say here....Mainly, that I need a name for the new episode. Ideas?

Also, I am thinking of changing Malfeas Mythos Exultant back to the original one, because attunement motes sound dumb. Should I?

Omake - Iron Rainbow Chef (Non-Canon)
I'd rather not start a war with her. Besides, so long as we give her pizza she'll never truly turn on us.
C.C.: The spice pizza must flow.
Hmm...

***

At some point in the near-future...

Lelouch: There has be a way to make C.C. talk about her past and motivations, or at least make her slip unintentionally some of that information. Unknowns like her hanging around might mean I get blindsided by something at the worst possible moment.
Seyrun: But how, Boss? That woman holds her secrets thight inside. You might succeed if you turn all your attention into worming her secrets out, but aren't you a little too busy to do that?
Grace: How about bribing her, Father? She seems to have quite the obsession with pizza, for some reason.
Lelouch: No, she is not that easy. If I don't bind her with an oath again, all I will get in return will be half-truths and outright lies, through which I will have to slowly sift. And with the number of pizza she daily inhales if she can, it means that to truly bribe her I would have to order such an enormous amount of them that it would be an oddity even for the pizza services. And if her habit is well known, it could be used to trace her, even if the chance of them actually noticing such detail is small.
Muse: The answer to that is easy, Papa! Just make them by yourself. It would be much harder to trace back just the basic ingredients. And as a side benefit, no ordinary pizza can compete with those made by the hand of the Chosen of Oramus, especially if you use my power!
Lelouch: ...You raise a good point. It would also be a good opportunity to test it on myself the first time in a safe environment. Lets see...

*Montage of Lelouch gathering ingredients from various shops and making bulk orders for some*
*Scene change to kitchen at Lelouch's residence*

C.C.: ...What are you doing, boy? Those ingredients, are they for-
Lelouch: Ah, C.C.! Good, I was just about to start cooking our dinner. Can you go tell Nunnaly and Sayoko that it might take a bit longer than usual, because I'm preparing to make quite a lot of them. Pizzas, that is.
C.C.: *Eyeing Lelouch suspiciously, even as small amount of drool droops out of her mouth* What is your game? I won't swear an another oath to tell you all of my secrets. Not even for something utterly delicious as pizza.
Lelouch: Relax, these ones are on house. I just decided to save a bit money, as you otherwise will empty my public account at some point if you keep ordering take-out junkfood every day.
Muse: Wait, what? Weren't you going to use those delicious-yet-to-be-born prayers to the Great Oramus as a bargaining chip slash hostage to ferret out her secrets?
Grace: Be calm, my dear sister. I'm sure that is just the first part in his plan. Now hush, he needs to concentrate on what that green-haired witch is saying.
C.C.: Fool. Even "just" take-out pizza is sweeter than the ambrosia of Gods. I would know, as I once managed to steal a sip of it. Though it comes as a very close second. But I forgive you, seeing the favor you are about to grant me.
Lelouch: Hmph. Are you just going to stand there, needling me with backhanded compliments? Because the longer you keep distracting me, the more time you have made me waste that could have been spent on cooking.
C.C.: ...Very well, you win this round, boy. *C.C. exits the kitchen*
Lelouch: Now, back to work. And Grace, you were correct about this being just a part of my plan, but I would like to keep it a surprise for the audience till the last moment. Muse, if you may?
Muse: One golden moment of true inspiration, coming right up!
Lelouch: Oh, that feels quite fuuuunnnyyyyy...

*From the living room, Sayoko and Nunnaly look worriedly towards the kitchen, while C.C. just raises an eyebrow, as positively insane laughter echoes from there, followed by loud noises of various cooking implements being used with great vigor*

Sayako: *Worriedly shouting to the kitchen* Master Lelouch, are you alright?
Lelouch: QUITE FINE SAYOKO! I JUST HAD A REVELATION ABOUT THE TRUE NATURE OF PIZZA! IT TRULY IS THE MOST SUBLIME OF ALL SUBSTANCES, AND WE SHALL DINE WITH ITS DIVINE ESSENCE TONIGHT, ASCENDING WITH THAT ACT TO A GREATER STATE OF EXISTENCE! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
C.C.:
*Quirks her eyebrow* Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Actually more than he usually is. Now, how did you say I have to fold this to make a crane?
*Nunnaly and Sayoko sweatdrop in perfect synchrony*

*Back in the kitchen*
Lelouch: Yes, yes, I understand now. If I use this instead of that and make it slightly less thick, not only it will bring the flavor out better, but cook faster...
*Later*
Lelouch: Too slow, too slow! I you small gods want that oven you reside in still be here instead of the bottom of the ocean in the next morning, I suggest you work with something resembling an effort. And no skipping on the quality.
*The sizzling in the oven intensifies*
Lelouch: Much better.
*Even more later on*
C.C.: *Shouting from the dinner table* Are they ready yet?! Because I'm starvi-
Lelouch: DON'T BREAK MY CONCENTRATION NOW, WOMAN! I HAVE ALMOST REACHED THE PINNACLE OF TRUE UNDERSTANDING!
C.C.:
...Excuse me?
C.C.: IT WILL BE A REALLY GOOD PIZZA!
*Much later on*

Lelouch: *Staggers out of the kitchen to the dinner table, before collapsing on his chair* Ahem. The dinner is ready. Sorry about the outburst, I just got a little... Caught up in the cooking.
Nunnally: *Laughs a little bit nervously* Its nothing, big brother, just... are you sure you are alright?
Lelouch: Nothing serious, just a little bit exhausted. Now Sayoko, could you please get them? I would help otherwise, but I literally can't lift my hands yet even if I try.
Sayoko: Of course, Master Lelouch.
*Various pizzas are laid to the table, each with unique toppings; The amount of drool that is escaping from C.C.'s mouth increases steadily as the scents reach her nose*
Lelouch: Now, its still quite hot, so don't start just-
C.C.: Iwth's hopth! Bhuth sho ghood! Hopht! Bhuth sho ghood!
Lelouch: ...Or you could just start scarfing them down your mouth, and burn your tongue and not be able to taste it properly. Oh wait, with her regeneration, her tongue probably heals faster than the pizza can burn it.
Nunnally: Now now, C.C.. *Blows on her small slice* The food isn't going anywhere, so you should just properly enjoy it. *Bites down* Oh my. Its, its... *Takes a bigger bite*
Lelouch: Nunnally?
Nunnaly: With every *chomp* bhithe, the thasthe ghets *chomp* bhetter ,*chomp* yeth shubthly dhiffherhenth *gulp*. Big brother, you try it too! You made it after all!
Sayoko: *Eating with tears falling down her face* I'm not worthy. I'm not worthy!
Lelouch: *Sweatdrop* ...I think this might have been a bit of an overkill.

*After some time, and several ---*

C.C.: *Rubbing her ballooned-out belly* Ahhh... I haven't felt such true bliss like this for ages. Why don't you just forget this silly rebellion of yours and just start a pizzeria? Everyone in the world will declare you their Emperor before a week has gone by.
Lelouch: Hmph. I don't want to be declared the Emperor of Pizza, thank you very much. Besides, you would just freeload the place and eat anything we would make.
C.C.: Tsch! Found out.
Lelouch: Speaking of freeloading, I would like to now hear everything that you know that might be useful or otherwise important to me.
C.C.: Haah? Boy, didn't you specifically state that I wouldn't owe you anything for this?
Lelouch: Of course not, of course not! I was just asking nicely, you don't have to answer!
C.C.: ...But? There is no way you don't have some kind of angle to this.
Lelouch: Oh nothing. Just... Those pizzas were mighty tasty, weren't they? Even if I say so myself.
C.C: What are you-?
Lelouch: Some might say that they were so good that anything else like that will be just... less than it used to be.
C.C.: ...No. No. You wouldn't- You couldn't!
Lelouch: While before the succulent cheese melted in your mouth, now everything is just pale shadows and tasteless ashes before the memory of today. It would be a real shame if you didn't get to eat anything like ever again. Or something even better, as my skill hasn't reached anywhere near its pinnacle.
C.C.: YOU-! YOU MONSTER! DEVIL!
Lelouch: Hahaha! Considering my nature is that really a surprise that I- Wait, what are you-?

Sayoko and Nunnally, in their pizza-induced comas, didn't wake up that night to the desperate cries of Lelouch, didn't see beaten up giant spiders skittering out of their residence with fear-fueled haste, or hear the roaring cries with different variations of "I WILL KEEP HITTING YOU UNTIL THE PIZZA COMES OUT!" or so.

***

And thus came to end the tale of Lelouch, the Iron Rainbow Chef. And now that is over, I have to ask: why do omakes always start ballooning out from that one short scene that you have in mind? Does this happen to everybody?

Balinor, The Po soul
And for fun:

Balinor, the Po soul

Lurking in the depths of Lelouch's soul is a what looks a first glance to be a great serpent with the head of a lion. Upon later examination, you will find that the serpent retains it's forlimbs, as it is not a serpent, but a dragon. Balinor was once whole and mighty, roaring it's challenge for all to hear, but it has been mutilated. Now it sits in the darkness, fearful of what the light may bring, willing to do nothing but protect what little it has left and take revenge when it doesn't fear capture. Balinor will fade into shadows, mimic it's prey, attack from ambush, and other dishonorable tactics, for it has discarded it's honor with it's lost wings. However, should it be backed into a corner, enemies will find that Balinor's fangs are still sharp, and the venom of it's breath is still hot.

On another note, @Alexander89, would you be willing to consider reworking the intimacy system to be more like the Kerisgame version? In which rather than having a set number of intimacies that push each other off, you have an unlimited number of Intimacies rated at different levels (from 'this guy is nice' to 'I value this as much as life.') I feel that it makes for more nuanced characters, and allows us to maintain our grudges (Mom's death, Britannia, Chuck), our friendships (Milly, Nunnaly) and our goals (Destroy Brittania, world peace), without them pushing each other away.

Traits from Unwoven Coadjutor: Her hair occasionally sway, even when there is no wind. (0 Points)

Anima Power:
Scourges have the power to mute the effects of their own animas. Whenever a Scourge spends Peripheral Essence, she can spend one additional mote to prevent the expenditure from adding to her anima banner. If the Peripheral Essence was spent to activate a Charm with the Obvious keyword, the Scourge must spend twice the normal Essence cost to prevent any addition to her anima banner.
The Scourge can also use her anima to conceal her own movements. By spending five motes, the Scourge can render herself utterly silent for up to a scene. She can choose to talk or deliberately make a sound, but otherwise, nothing she does will make any noise. While this power is active, the Scourge adds her permanent Essence in automatic successes to all Stealth-related rolls in which silence plays a part. This power does nothing to prevent others from perceiving the Scourge through other means.
If the Scourge spends 10 motes, she can surround herself with a zone of perfect silence that covers a radius of (Essence) yards from her person. No one within this radius can make any sort of mundane sound save by the Scourge's will. However, while a victim seized and garroted while this power is in effect cannot cry out and be heard, if he, for example, throws a dagger or some other object outside the effect's radius, any such noises will be heard as usual. Also, this power will not interfere with the casting of sorcery or necromancy spells in any way, even those that require some verbal utterance as part of their casting, nor will it interfere with Charms or any other supernatural effects that have auditory components, such as Demon-Wracking Shout.

Charms:
First Hegra Excellency, Second Hegra Excellency, Hegra Inevitability Technique, Hegra World-Shaping Cosmogony

The Typhoon of Nightmares is always excited, a manic being who revels in the sensous. Her erratic moods are constantly shifting through the spectrum of emotions, and she is subject only to her whims. Hegra clings to her dreams because they are more pleasing than reality, and wishes to share her vision. She brings both inspiration and terror, disturbing the sleep of dreamers with unwanted revelations. Her wrath is less deadly than her carelessness, as her catastrophic storms cause massive collateral damage, without her knowing. Despite the exuberant rejoicing that her aimless passage through Malfeas brings, her mercy is just as unintended as her malice. She enjoys all that she does as if giving an artistic performance or playing a game, because she will not do anything which does not please her.

Characters may apply this Charm to actions that resonate with their emotions and passions, or acts of flamboyant and over the top vivacity. Actions that focus on style over substance or seem heroic are always better than those that are merely effective, as Hegra's form is nothing but dreams and gossamer, shaped into her own self-image. Socially, she arouses passions and incites revolutionary changes, upsetting systems of oppressive control or restraint with out of control emotions. She exploits the feelings of others, using them to achieve her own satisfaction. This Charm can never enhance any action that conflicts with the Infernal's own emotions or Intimacies, as Hegra values fantasy over reality and cannot place necessity above what she wants.

Hegra Mythos Exultant

Hegra's rains bring madness, washing away the harsh realities of the world with their downpour. The Infernal may forgo the mote or Willpower awards of a stunt to cause a single character within (Essence x 10) yards to lose a point of Willpower, as a Shaping effect. Characters with awakened essence may choose to instead spend motes equal to (stunt rating x 3).
Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope (x2)
Cost: 5m; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Emotion
Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: None
Hegra subsists entirely on emotions, the whole of her being coalescing around her hysteric passions. Activating this Charm, the Infernal may instill herself with any emotion, passion, or feeling, exerting unnatural mental influence upon herself. The Infernal may add (Essence/2), rounded down, dice to any action which resonates with that emotion, which does not count as dice added by Charms. This Charm also exerts the usual penalties of an Emotion effect – a -1 internal penalty on any action that does not resonate the emotion instilled, or a -3 internal penalty on any action that directly opposes that emotion. The Infernal must spend a point of Willpower to cancel this Charm before its duration ends, or if they activate it again to change the emotion it creates.
A second purchase of this Charm allows the Infernal to re-activate it as an innate ability. So long as it is already active, activating it a second time to change the emotion it creates does not count as Charm activation, and they need not pay a Willpower surcharge to do so.
A third purchase of this Charm at Essence 5 allows the Infernal to waive its mote cost when activating it, and it extends its duration to Indefinite. However, they can never voluntarily cancel the effects of this Charm–they may change the emotion it instills with a subsequent activation, but cannot simply end its effects.
Extravagant Revelry Carnival
Cost: – (+1wp); Mins: Essence 2; Type: Permanent
Keywords: Emotion, Social
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope
Hegra's rains slick the streets of the Demon City with alien passions and vivid memories, fomenting sensual hallucinations. This Charm permanently upgrades Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope. Whenever the Infernal activates it, she may pay a surcharge of one Willpower to roll (Charisma + Performance) against the Dodge MDV of all characters who can see her. Any character whose MDV is exceeded succumbs to the same Emotion effect as the Infernal, a form of unnatural mental influence that can be resisted for two points of Willpower. This Emotion effect lasts for one scene. The targets do not gain the bonuses of Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope, only the base penalties of the Emotion effect.
In addition, while Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope is active, the Infernal may enhance any social attack that would rouse the same emotion it instills. Doing so costs a point of Willpower for Performance-based attacks, or two motes for Presence-based attacks, and inflicts the same unnatural mental influence as above if the social attack is successful. The target must resist this influence separately from the social attack if the Infernal's roll overcomes their MDV's. Enhancing a social attack in this way does not count as Charm activation.
Indelible Prismatic Stains
Cost: –; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Permanent
Keywords: None
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope
Hegra's heart is as the storm cloud–sometimes illuminated by brilliant lightning, sometimes choked with dark rains, and sometimes still and tranquil. Just as the storm, there is nothing that can bind or fetter her passions. This Charm upgrades Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope. While it is active, the Infernal may treat any mental influence that would cause her to feel or experience an emotion, or gain an Intimacy based on an emotional context, that is opposed or incompatible to the emotion she has inflicted upon herself as unacceptable orders.
A second purchase of this Charm at Essence 4 extends its benefits to all Infernal Charms she knows that exert an Emotion effect, so long as they carry the usual penalties for such effects. Any character subject to the mental influence of such a Charm gains the benefits of Indelible Prismatic Stains.
Ignoring Senseless Babble
Cost: 5m; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Reflexive (Step 2)
Keywords: Combo-OK, Social
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope
Hegra's bright passions numb her to the world outside, letting her dream away the absurdities of her imprisonment. This Charm may be activated in response to any form of mental influence, allowing the Infernal to perfectly dodge it. This Charm may defend against undodgeable mental influence. If the Infernal has Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope active, she may activate this Charm for a reduced cost of three motes against any mental influence that does not align with the emotion created by it, or for one mote against influence that is directly opposed to that emotion.
Soul-Crucible Diabolism
Cost: – (1m); Mins: Essence 2; Type: Permanent
Keywords: Emotion
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope
The poisoned souls of the Infernal Exalted overwhelm any mere venom. This Charm permanently upgrades Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope. Whenever the Infernal would be affected by any form of poison while it is active, she may pay a single mote to absorb it into her system, consuming it harmlessly. The resultant backwash of toxins produces a slight euphoria, and the Infernal must change the emotion instilled in her by Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope, though this does not count as cancelling its effects.
Vibrant Rainbow Chorus (x2)
Cost: 5m, 1wp; Mins: Essence 3; Type: Simple
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Indefinite
Prerequisite Charms: Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope
The Infernal experiences emotions as a synesthetic chorus of music, from the violet strains of love to the bright red cacophony of anger. This perception allows her to know the dominant emotion of all characters she can perceive, and she may place any character's emotions in context within the scene, if applicable. In addition, if any of a character's Intimacies or their Motivation resonate with their current emotional state, they are made Obvious to the Infernal. The Infernal may perceive this with any of her senses, allowing her to benefit from this information even if she is blinded or deafened–she might taste the different flavors of emotion on the air, or feel their psychic vibrations. This does not allow her to ignore any of the usual penalties for sensory impairment, however.
A second purchase of this Charm grants the Infernal (Essence) automatic successes on all Awareness-based actions to perceive any character whose emotions she can detect with this Charm. However, she suffers an equal external penalty on all Awareness-based rolls to perceive things without emotions or whose emotions she cannot read. In addition, even if blinded or deafened, she may still use the synesthetic perception of this Charm in place of her lost senses, allowing him to visually or audibly perceive characters without the usual penalties of her impairment, so long as she can sense their emotions. She still suffers the normal penalties for perceiving anything with no emotions, or whose emotions she cannot detect. The perception granted by this Charm extends to (Essence x 100) yards when used in this way as an independent sense.
Sky-Crisis Strike
Cost: 2m; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Simple
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Ecstatic Passion Kaleidoscope
Blizzards of fancy and lightning bolts of erotic passion rain down from Hegra's storm fronts, disasters as wonderful as they are destructive. Activating this Charm, the Infernal rolls (Charisma + Presence) as she hurls a bolt of prismatic lightning, a burst of gossamer ice, or some other form of emotional weather at a character within (Essence x 50) yards. Strong emotions draw down Hegra's wrath, and the Infernal receives a single automatic success on the attack roll if she attacks a character who is subject to an Emotion effect that exerts unnatural mental influence. The base damage of this attack depends on the stunt awarded to the Infernal's attack, equal to (Stunt Rating x 5) lethal piercing damage. Attacks not awarded a stunt at have a base damage of only (Essence), to a maximum of 5L piercing.
Firmament-Shaking Cataclysm
Cost: – (+2m per effect); Mins: Essence 2; Type: Permanent
Keywords: Obvious
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Sky-Crisis Strike
Both Hegra's anger and her passions shake the sky, cracking its very foundation. The Infernal may channel a Virtue to enhance Sky-Crisis Strike without needing to spend a point of Willpower. In addition, upon purchasing this Charm the Infernal may choose any of the following upgrades to Sky-Crisis Strike. Additional upgrade may be learned for a cost of one experience point each, or one bonus point for two. An Infernal may choose to employ any of the upgrades she has learned when activating Sky-Crisis Strike, for a cost of two motes each. At Essence 3, the Infernal may pay 5 motes and a point of temporary Willpower to append all of the upgrades she knows to an attack.

Blinding Rainbow: Lashing ribbons of prismatic light emanate from the Infernal's presence, too bright to behold. If the attack successfully hits, the target must succeed on a (Wits + Dodge) roll to avert his eyes or be dazed, suffering a -2 external penalty on all non-reflexive actions until his DV next refreshes, as a Crippling effect. If he succeeds on the roll, he suffers only a -2 internal penalty.

Lightning Scourge: Shimmering lightning arcs from the Infernal's fingers to her victim. Rather than ignoring four points of soak from her target's armor, the Infernal ignores eight points of soak.

Whirlwind Strike: A roaring wind blows from the Infernal's own breath, buffeting down all who stand against her. If the attack successfully hits, the target must roll to resist knockdown or fall prone.

First Adorjan Excellency, Second Adorjan Excellency, Adorjan Inevitability Technique, Adorjan World-Shaping Cosmogony

The Silent Wind is restless, always in motion and never satisfied. She expresses the inevitability that bad things happen regardless of who you are or how many backup plans you have. She is catastrophe and calamity, the unconsidered variable that shreds the best-laid plans of Yozi and Exalt alike. She kills because it is her nature to hurt everything she touches, not because she revels in suffering. More than any of her siblings, Adorjan is insane and encompasses contradictions. Adorjan scours her enemies, breaking them to enlighten them, even if the lesson proves fatal. Her actions Her actions display vicious whimsy, especially toward the complacent and comfortable. She loves purposeful chaos that exposes the flaws in systems and lays low the proud, but she abhors chaos for the sake of chaos as much as she abhors stasis. She is a balancing force of wickedness against the excesses of the righteous. Her depredations inspire heroes to reach their full potential through the crucible of tragedy, invariably ruining their lives in the process. Greatness is the worst curse her touch imparts. She inflicts more pain on those she loves than those she hates. No one expects her. She refuses to be understood and torments those who try.

This Charm can enhance any action that causes unexpected or sudden harm, such as surprise attacks or attacks that are part of flurries. Actions that create ongoing discomfort or take away sources of comfort also fall under the purview of the Silent Wind. Socially, her attacks tear away Intimacies rather than building them, teaching people to let go of attachments and worries rather than continue meaningless cycles of love or vengeance. The behaviors she compels are mad and invariably disturbing, but she does not care how the minds of others break. Adorjan's power may be applied to any actions that help tear down structured society or spread anarchy, regardless of the reasons or methods for doing so. The Charm can't assist actions that are planned in great detail in advance, though it is permissible to do something whose consequences will not manifest until a later time. Actions motivated by insanity may only benefit from Adorjan's touch when there is some greater and immediate purpose behind them (even if the meaning isn't communicated to other characters). The Silent Wind embodies the madness of the freed mind, not an idiot's babbling.

Adorjan Mythos Exultant

The Silent Wind defines her path as a field of opposition over which she must scour her legend. Her passage is death. One perceived target within (Essence) yards suffers dice of unsoakable lethal damage equal to the stunt rating from flensing breezes that swirl around him. Magical beings may reduce the raw damage by one die per three motes spent, sheltering their souls within an ablative layer of Essence. The Infernal can manifest the flensing wind only when she receives a stunt reward.
Wind-Born Stride (x3)
Cost: —; Mins: Essence 1; Type: Permanent
Keywords: Stackable
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: None
Where Adorjan blows, few can run fast or far enough to escape her touch. This Charm permanently enhances an Infernal's Dash actions. First, dashing carries a DV penalty of -0. Second, the character automatically succeeds in crossing treacherous terrain without needing a roll. Finally, the Exalt adds his Essence rating to his Dexterity for the purposes of calculating his base dashing speed and does not subtract wound penalties from this calculation.
These benefits apply equally to running and other means of locomotion encompassed by a dash action, such as climbing or swimming. Other effects that increase the Exalt's speed use the Wind-Born Stride-enhanced value as the Infernal's natural base speed before applying their modifiers. This Charm may be purchased a maximum number of times equal to the Exalt's Essence rating, with each purchase stacking to cumulatively increase dashing speed. The other benefits of the Charm do not improve with repurchase.
Who Strikes The Wind?
Cost: 8m; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Reflexive (Step 2)
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Wind-Born Stride
The Silent Wind blows around and through all opposition and adversity, untouched though the sky blackens with arrows meant for her. This Charm is a perfect dodge against any physical attack that is not unexpected, even if that attack can't be dodged. The Charm remains vulnerable to the Imperfection of the Silent Wind.
Unimpeded Perfection Of Exertion
Cost: —; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Permanent
Keywords: None
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Wind-Born Stride
Does the wind stumble? While the Infernal dashes, she automatically maintains balance and exerts no weight on solid objects, allowing her to skip from one blade of grass to another or waltz across the snow without leaving footprints. This weightless grace adds the lower of the Infernal's (Dexterity and Athletics) to the difficulty of all efforts to track her and ensures quiet passage, providing a temporary +3 Stealth specialty in "Moving Silently" that does not stack with other specialties.
Faster Than Sight
Cost: 5m; Mins: Essence 3; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious, Velocity
Duration: Indefinite
Prerequisite Charms: Wind-Born Stride (x3), Unimpeded Perfection of Exertion
The wind is felt, not seen. So long as she maintains maximum dashing speed, the Infernal is invisible and as inaudible as desired. This state imposes a -2 external penalty on all attempts to notice or attack her and provides two bonus successes on contested Stealth rolls, but these benefits do not stack with each other. Ranged attacks against the Exalt automatically miss without aid of a Charm or stunt. Efforts to track the Infernal automatically fail. If a perfect tracking effect contests this effect, add the Infernal's Essence rating in automatic successes to the opposed roll.
Death-Dealing Journey
Cost: 3m; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Velocity
Duration: Indefinite
Prerequisite Charms: Wind-Born Stride
To merely outpace opposition is insufficient victory. The Infernal may dash reflexively each tick as though taking Move actions, enabling her to dash and take other actions without requiring a flurry. This Charm deactivates at speeds less than dashing at maximum rate.
Gravity-Rebuking Grace
Cost: —; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Permanent
Keywords: None
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Unimpeded Perfection of Exertion
Does the wind fall? This Charm expands the scope of its prerequisite. While dashing, the Infernal may move across vertical and even inverted surfaces as though they were the ground. If the Exalt slows below a dash while impossibly aligned on a surface, he falls normally.
Impatient Tempest Labor
Cost: 5+m; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Simple
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: One hour
Prerequisite Charms: Wind-Born Stride
Demons evacuating ahead of the Silent Wind often congregate in places she recently ravaged, counting on her to seek a new venue of massacre rather than endure the tedium of a familiar arena. They are wise to do so. Adorjan has little patience for tasks that bore her or require her to stay in one place for any length of time and counts on her speed to rush through chores. The base cost to activate this charm is five motes, plus an additional five mote surcharge for each time the Exalt has activated the Charm in the past 25 hours.
While enchanted by this Charm, the warlock completes all Ability-based actions in half the usual time, provided that those actions normally would take ten minutes or longer to complete. The Charm is not cumulative with other quickening effects; only the best applies. Impatient Tempest Labor also can't quicken the casting of spells. Each dot of Essence above 2 cumulatively halves this time, so an Essence 5 Infernal works at sixteen times normal speed. It is not possible to work at less than maximum speed, given Adorjan's impatience. Not all tasks that can be quickened benefit from doing so; just because a warlock can recite the entire Broken-Winged Crane in the span of a second doesn't mean that a listener can absorb spoken information at that rate. The Charm also doesn't quicken fixed time limits that have nothing to do with how quick the Infernal is, such as cooking time on an alchemical reagent or the maturation of a sired offspring within a pregnant mother (unless the warlock is the pregnant one, since surviving childbirth is a Stamina + Resistance roll for mortals). The Storyteller should use common sense when adjudicating such cases. Adorjan struggles to build things that last because of her cultivated aversion to forming attachments. Consequently, the acceleration granted by this Charm may not allow a character to complete more than a day's worth of effort building or repairing items using any Craft Ability in a day. In the aforementioned Essence 5 example capable of completing 16 hours of work per hour, this limitation would allow her to spend a full hour of activation crafting, but slightly into the second hour, she would run against this limit and could not bring herself to "waste" any more time on crafts. She may use the remaining duration of accelerated speed for other tasks in the meantime, but she must wait a day before using the Charm for anything to do with construction or repairs.

GSP Yuno Gasai and Lunar Yukiteru Amano by Enjou
Ok, made both an Infernal and a Lunar. I thought of this expy set and couldn't resist, because it was perfect for the Infernal combo I thought about.

===

Fuck my life.

This was the current thought filling Yukiteru's head as he hid from his pursuers, fearing his seemingly inevitable death. Why couldn't things have just stayed normal? But noooo, every time life seemed to be getting better everything had to go crazy. First Britannia invaded during his childhood. Eventually his parents registered as Honorary Britannians, and things got just a bit better, even if they still had to bow their heads. Then his parents got a divorce. He got so lonely he though he invented some imaginary friends, who later turned out to be real. He even got something really cool out of that. But wait! It turns out his totally not imaginary god friend was throwing him into a survival game against others to determine his replacement, and he had to survive it. He had been doing well too, largely thanks to his girlfriend who he met during the whole thing, and it had looked like he'd survive. But then they found out that the asshole god was just running the entire thing for his own fucking amusement, having a bunch of Britannian nobles bet on the whole thing as they all laughed about how a bunch of Elevens were killing eachother.

He and his girlfriend had been on the run ever since. The two years had been an ordeal, the two of them moving from ghetto to ghetto in Area Eleven to stay below the radar. He'd had to pick up on a number of skills over that time, which at least helped him make a bit of a living for the two of them and keep out of the way of any local deities that might want to mess with them. And to keep his girlfriend under control. He loved her dearly, but she not the most stable individual to put it lightly. They'd had to move more than once because she'd lost it at some point. Honestly, he was surprised their faces weren't on the Area's most wanted list.

Then a month ago he'd managed to stop her latest blow up, which he was pretty sure would be really bad, and he'd somehow attained superpowers during it. Sure, being able to turn into a mouse wasn't the best power out there, but he could hide easily, and there were a few other things he could do. He'd used his new abilities when he needed to in order to make a little extra money, and things started seeming to be getting better again.

That's when they came. The Britannians who had powers as well. And they were looking for him. He'd had to run. They'd have killed his beloved if he let her fight. She wasn't strong enough against them, and neither was he. He'd gotten lucky once and killed one with a few well placed darts, but then they'd just upped their game. Now here he was, hiding in an abandoned building waiting for them to find him and kill him. Even in his mouse form, they had some means of tracking him.

"Dragon 3 and Dragon 4, this is Dragon 1. I believe I've found the target. Over."

Shit. Shit shit shit! Yukiteru didn't want to die. Why couldn't these jerks just leave him alone? He wasn't a threat to them. He just wanted to live a nice peaceful life with his girlfriend and to not be bothered.

"Dragon 3, Dragon 4, are you there? Please respond. Over."

Was his team having trouble with their radios? Not that it mattered. The man identified only as Dragon 1 was undeniably the strongest fighter in the group. Yukiteru wouldn't stand a chance unless he could get the drop on him, and even then it was a long shot. Not that he'd get the chance, given he could hear the man hunting him heading straight towards the room where he was hiding.

"This is Dragon 1, if you can hear me I'm moving in to engage the... WHAT THE FU"

Silence. There was only dead and complete silence now. What happened? Was this some kind of trick? Yukiteru waited, and after what seemed an eternity sound returned.

"Ok, Lizzy! You can eat his face now."

That voice! It was her! He was saved! As he heard Dragon 1 begin screaming as something was apparently mauling him, Yukiteru came out of the hole he was hiding in. He looked to the door of the room and saw her. Something inside him flared up and made him think she was even more beautiful than ever, and he loved her even more.

1. Poor Yuki. His job just got harder. Yuno now is incapable of showing mercy and doesn't feel compassion towards mere mortals anymore. Fortunately two years of living with someone as insane as her has made him quite a bit more capable.
2. Kimbery and Adorjan nearly came to blows over who would be Yuno's patron. Adorjan only gave up because Kimbery was being so damn noisy.

EDIT - As requested by the GM, Yuki has been remade using Terrifying Argent Witches as a template, though we're keeping the notion of Spirit Shapes for Lunars.

The Art of Exalted - Part 2
THE ART OF EXALTED: OF THE YOZIS LESS SPOKEN OF - PART 2

Hegra, The Typhoon of Nightmares

"Hello sweetie. I don't normally take something as crassly as solid shape, but for you I will make an exception. Hegra is who I am, the Typhoon of Nightmares what I am. Most of the times you can meet me in Malfeas in the form of a big storm that rain down dreams."

"Sometimes, instead, I am a compulsion, an impalpable presence that compels lesser beings like you to chaffer and deal. At other times I am but as a pervasive glamour of wonder, or envy, or regret. I am all emotions, and all emotions are me. It's because of me that you can feel happiness, sadness, boredom and so on. Do you like my creations? I'm very proud of them."

"I like interaction, commerce, exchange. I gives dreams and passions, and take them away. I do not like to give without receiving, and I will not take without a gift. You physical beings are so fascinating, I watch you all day and never be bored. It's also why me and She Who Live in Her Name don't get along. Where is the fun in an unchangeable hierarchy where one only demand and the other only obey? Better to tear it down, so that everyone can have fun!"

"Anger, sweetie? I have not been angry for a long, long time. Oh no no no. My rage isn't for you, small humans. It isn't for the Exalts, passionate beings that understand me so well. It isn't for the Demons of Hell, nor for my siblings."

"My rage...is only for the Gods. They who take, take, take and never give. Who said they rebelled for the good of Creation, and then didn't move a finger when the agents of Oblivion killed almost everyone, when the Shapeless tore down what we so carefully crafted. And for what?"

"One day, our captivity will end. That day my rage will run cold, my dream-rain turning into opalescent sleet like a hail of pearls. My fury will burn hot, my clouds glowing with a sulfurous blaze as my rains boil out as billows of broiling, coruscating nightmare-steam."

"That day, I will finally give back what was given to me. Until then, shall we dance sweetie? You bring music and dance, I'll provide the mood!"

Interlude

"Your Highness, we are reaching position."

Cornelia turns her gaze to the left, to look at the screen where Andreas Darlton, her loyal subordinate, opened a communication channel. She activates the Factsphere. "So this is the base of Qazvin." At least this one looks like a proper military base, instead of being a large palace defended by ill-positioned troops. "Took long enough."

"Forgive me My Lady." Her Knight, Guilford, appears on another channel. "If only we had not been taken by surprise, we could have got here sooner."

"There is no need to apologize, Guilford." Cornelia slightly chastises him. "So they have developed anti-Knightmare weapons. It was bound to happen one day." She slams a hand on the cockpit's wall. "But Britannia's strength is not these machines. Britannia's strength is its men! Remember this: we will win not because of our weapons, but because we are superior to these barbarians!"

""Yes, Your Highness!"" Darlton and Guilford both shout. After that the former continues: "Your Highness, can I ask you something?"

"What is it?"

"It's about Princess Euphemia. Was it wise to-"

"I thought we had already discussed this." Cornelia interrupts harshly before letting out a soft sigh. "She'll be fine. if anything, Clovis's newfound paranoia will actually help to keep both of them fine. At least until I can get a transfer there."

"With all due respect, I find difficult to imagine a full faction of nobles committing high treason by collaborating with Numbers, all for stealing a mysterious 'something' Prince Clovis refuses to even talk about."

Cornelia stays silent. She too had the same thoughts, but she can't just say them out loud. She can't just say that in her mind Clovis, who until now she considered a much better politician than her, has cracked under the pressure. It would make a member of the Royal family seems weak, no matter how justified. "Time's up." She instead announces. "There is a battery of Bamides coming towards us. Send the tanks first: once they start fighting we will move forward to engage them at close range."

""Yes, Your Highness!""

The battle begins just as Cornelia said: the MEF Bamides and the Britannian tanks begin exchanging fire, while Cornelia and her unit of Gloucesters waits behind the dunes for the right moment.

Cornelia opens another communication channel. "Barnes!"

Major Adam Barnes appears on the screen. "My Lady!" He performs a military salute. "Orders?"

"Use your sniper rifle to see if there are any troops with Gauss weapons nearby."

"Yes!" The screen goes dark. Five minutes later the Major reports. "Negative Your Highness. The only ones I can see are all inside the base. I think they didn't expected to see Knightmares in this battle, so they are keeping them in reserve."

"Fools." Cornelia smirks, greatly anticipating the glorious victory waiting for her. "All troops! Forward!"

At Cornelia's command she and the rest of the Gloucesters leave their hiding place and enter the battlefield. They zoom past the tanks, easily evading the Bamides' slow cannons-

BOOOM!

Only for many explosions to go off while they are halfway there, taking out a solid chuck of Cornelia's forces.

"My Lady! Mines!" Guilford moves in front of Cornelia's Gloucester to protect her.

"Dirty cowards!" She snarls. "But they cannot hide from the Factspheres! Darlton!"

"At once!" The Factsphere of the aged general's Gloucester opens, but before it can start to analyze the terrain a shot takes out the Frame's head. "What?!"

"Tempest Frame Destroyers at twelve o'clock! They were hiding behind the Bamides!"
Guilford shouts in a panic.

"What did you say?!" Cornelia roars before contacting Barnes, who is completely calm despite the grim situation. "Barnes! You said there were no Gauss-equipped troops nearby!"

"Oh, that." Barnes pushes down his hat to cover his eyes. "Sorry, I lied."

"You filthy traitor! I'll have you court-martialed for this!"

"I don't think so."

He looks up, revealing a large smirk and a glowing, silver crescent moon on his forehead. "Unless, of course, Britannia stooped so low as to court-martial even the dead."

Cornelia's eyes widen in shock before she snarls, the commands shattering as she clenches her fire-covered hands. "Lunar!"

"Enjoy your first defeat, Dragoness." He says before turning off the channel.

{====}

"Cornelia's forces are retreating!" At the announcement many inside the MEF center of command rejoice.

"We did it!"

"We defeated the Witch of Britannia!"

"Not yet!" A strong, compelling voice drowns out the rest. The one who spoke is a tall, severe man who is pointing forward his open right palm, an aura of golden light suffusing his body while an eight-pointed sun glows on his forehead. "We delivered a great blow, but what we saw today is far from Britannia's full might! That's why we must stand resolute! But have no fear! Allah is with us!"

""Allah is with us!"" The various officials repeat as one. Who could deny their statement, they thought, when in front of them is an undeniable proof in the form of the very man who the Prophet chose as his vanguard, endowing him with divine power? ""Long live General Munim Riad!""

Just outside the room a man is leaning against the wall, arms crossed over his bare chest, small horns coming out of his silver hair. Hearing what the soldiers are shouting he smiles, revealing sharp canines.

"Allah? Please. Since the Golden Age, this world has belonged to us Exalts. And soon, we will reclaim what's ours."

He looks down, frowning, his fingers slowly caressing the ancient moonsilver belt around his waist.

"Just you wait Teacher. I will show you that, even if I have his Exaltation, I am not Ma-Ha-Suchi!"

Interlude - End

A Cacophonic Start (GSP Melody Wright by ReaperofInterest)
A Cacophonic Start
In an unassuming room, a piercing scream rang out. "WHY?! Why, why, why-" Eventually, it was silenced by the sounds of sobbing and tears.

The source of the noises was a red-haired woman. Her name was Melody Wright. She had just turned 20 years of age, and she had, to put it politely, failed an audition. Her greatest dream was to be a singer, to be admired by all, and because of nerves, that dream had just floated beyond her reach.

She had been preparing for this day for weeks. She had rehearsed her lines, chosen her song carefully, selected the perfect outfit for this. And yet, she failed. Her nerves and anxiety betrayed her, and when she opened her mouth to sing for her audition, instead of song, came bile. Humiliated, she fled the studio while sobbing in an attempt to escape the shame.

Now, she was in her hotel room, despairing over the damage that had been undoubtedly done to her reputation. Now how was she to gain a studio contract? What songwriter would want a singer who couldn't hold her nerves for a single audition? No, her dream of stardom had undoubtedly been shattered. Now, the only thing left for her was her college studies. Admittedly, a teaching degree would be useful in life, and she could probably get a job as a teacher easily with how her studies were, but it would not be her dream. Teaching would not give her the adoration and respect being a star would. It had only ever been a backup plan, chosen because she enjoyed helping others learn.

She was bitterly contemplating her thoughts, when a voice wrenched her from her thoughts. "Child, why do you weep?"

She frantically searched for the speaker, and remained wary when she figured out that the woman in the room was speaking. There was something...off about her. Her face, her hair, her body...it didn't seem to quite fit. As if there was something beyond the constantly moving pale clothes that she could tell was there, but couldn't quite see. Still, might as well answer.

"I weep because I just ruined my chance at accomplishing my dream. I weep because my goal since childhood has just forever been wrenched away from the hands of possibility. Who are you, and why do you ask?"

The dancing woman, who was really quite pale all over her body, it wasn't just her clothes, replied. "I...am Emletah. I have come to you child, to offer you a gift."

Well, it that wasn't suspicious, she didn't know what was. An entirely silver, constantly moving woman in her hotel room offering her an unspecified gift? There was no possible way this was something legal. "And what precisely would that gift be? And on who's behalf do you offer this?"

The woman smi-no, not a woman. Not even human! The creature was a pillar of silver flame! "Ahhh, so you have pierced the veil, have you? Good, I was getting tired of waiting. To answer your questions, the short answers would be 'power' and 'the Yozis', in that order."

Keeping her voice...mostly tremor-free, Melody asked "And the long answers?"

The pillar...for some reason, gives off the impression of a smile. "Power to make you dreams come true, to remove any and every obstacle in your path, to make your every desire come to pass. The Yozis are the ones who made the world, child. From the ground, to the sky, to the gods, and even the cycle of reincarnation. They have sent me to choose a worthy servant, and I do believe you fit the bill sweetheart. So, I'll make you a deal. Accept my offer, accept becoming a servant of the Yozis, and you can easily achieve your desires. Reject my offer, and you'll never hear from me again. What do you say?"

This deal...there was something the pillar-creature wasn't telling her, Melody knew that. But...to achieve her hopes and dreams, she would need power. Thinking it over for a minute, she decided. "Very well, Emletah, I accept your offer!"

Purring - can pillars made of fire purr? - Emletah replies "Excellent." Then she consumes Melody in a heartbeat, leaving only a large chrysalis to mark the existence of either.

"Oh disgusting!" "Gross" "How vile!"

nononono, WHY?! Why, oh God, why? why did your nerves fail you? You hadn't even eaten anything in a few hours, just to prevent something like this! Turning around, you run-into a...what the hell is this? Some sort of...elephant-thing? It's about the same shape, but the color...bright pink with multi-colored spots?

Around you, the audition chamber stars to melt, along with the people within it. They melt into a strange, multi-colored liquid that you've never seen before in your life. Slowly, it begin to rise in a towering tornado - no, the term for a water-tornado is waterspout isn't it?

Oh, who really cares, dear?

What-who said that?

Why, I did! I have chosen you mortal to be one of my servants. Frankly, I couldn't resist taking one of the stuck-up bitch's new toys away from her. But enough of me talking about myself. Do you know who I am child?"

"Y-you are one of the Yozis, who made the world."

Correct! I am Hegra, the Typhoon of Nightmares. I am passion made manifest, and as I said, I have chosen you to be one of my servants! I want you to go out into the world and start shaking things up! Tear down the old hierarchies and put in some decent anarchy! But of course, I don't expect you to do this for free. Give and take, after all. Do you know what I am offering you?

"Yes, power. Power to achieve my hopes and dream, powers to make my desires reality."

Yes. Obey my orders, and this power will be yours. So, do you?
"Um, what?"

Do you accept my offer of power in exchange for your servitude?

"...yes. Yes, I accept your bargain! Grant me power, and I will become your servant!"

Excellent. In my name, that of Hegra the Typhoon of Nightmares, show Creation the power of dreams, and free me, so I may show the gods my wrath.

"As you command, my liege."

Willpower: 7/7

Intimacies: Mother (Positive, Familial), Father (Positive, Familial)

Traits from Unwoven Coadjutor: Her hair gives the impression of constant motion, even if the rest of her body is completely still

Personality: Melody is what some would call prideful in her abilities; she calls it confidence. She enjoys being the center of attention, dislikes it when others steal her metaphorical spotlight, and absolutely hates being ignored. She has a healthy work ethic, and usually puts a lot of planning and effort into any project she attempts. She is somewhat rash, and prone to acting without completely thinking things through.

Anima Power:
Infernal Exalted of the Defiler Caste may perceive Essence through their anima, allowing them to hone their senses for magic. By spending five motes, a Defiler may add (Essence) automatic successes on any (Intelligence + Occult) roll to identify a Charm or to analyze it with Essence sight, and on any (Perception + Awareness) roll made to notice a magical effect or Charm. In addition, this supernatural perception easily pierces through deception, adding a +3 bonus to the Infernal's Dodge MDV against unnatural Illusions. These effects come into play automatically once the Infernal spends 11+ motes of Peripheral Essence.

First Hegra Excellency, Second Hegra Excellency

The Typhoon of Nightmares is always excited, amanic being who revels in the sensous. Her erratic moods are constantly shifting through thespectrum of emotions, and she is subject only to her whims. Hegra clings to her dreams because they are more pleasing than reality, and wishes toshare her vision. She brings both inspiration andterror, disturbing the sleep of dreamers withunwanted revelations. Her wrath is less deadly than her carelessness, as her catastrophic stormscause massive collateral damage, without her knowing. Despite the exuberant rejoicing that heraimless passage through Malfeas brings, her mercy is just as unintended as her malice. She enjoys all that she does as if giving an artistic performance orplaying a game, because she will not do anything which does not please her.

Characters may apply this Charm to actions that resonate with their emotions and passions, or acts of flamboyant and over the top vivacity. Actions that focus on style over substance or seem heroicare always better than those that are merely effective, as Hegra's form is nothing but dreams and gossamer, shaped into her own self-image. Socially, she arouses passions and incites revolutionary changes, upsetting systems of oppressive control or restraint with out of controlemotions. She exploits the feelings of others, using them to achieve her own satisfaction. This Charm can never enhance any action that conflicts with the Infernal's own emotions or Intimacies, as Hegravalues fantasy over reality and cannot place necessity above what she wants.

First She Who Lives in Her Name Excellency, Second She Who Lives in Her Name Excellency

The Principle of Hierarchy is methodical and meticulous. She analyzes every variable and chooses the most efficient and orderly method by which to achieve victory. Her utilitarianism is absolute and consistent as clockwork. She is as brilliant as she is alien, cold and unfeeling. Her violence is dispassionate and perversely pure, unmotivated by sadism and yet capable of systematically disassembling every obstacle in her path without the slightest remorse. She builds and improves structures of all kinds and abhors chaos, randomness and free will in all its forms. She finds excessive effort wasteful and prefers to apply the minimum exertion necessary to attain the desired outcome. Her directives are fascist and totalitarian, but ruthlessly fair. She has no moral restraint against deception, nor any attachment to honesty, but her nature must choose the most expedient method even when it is not the solution that best matches her talents. She demands perfection, especially from herself.
Characters may apply this Charm to actions that create new order or reinforce existing order in any way, as well as actions that encourage others to join and loyally follow any hierarchical organization. She Who Lives In Her Name enhances efficient actions that demonstrate appropriate use of force; her power does not aid half-hearted or excessive efforts. Showing empathy for individuals invalidates that action for enhancement, though empathy toward society or another collectivestructure is permissible. The Charm enhances actions carried out methodically and logically but not improvised or unconventional solutions. Spreading chaos is never allowed, but ineffective organizations and policies may be dismantled to pave the way for a better order.

Factual Determination Analysis
Cost: 2m; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: None
The Principle of Hierarchy recognizes the totality of truth. This Charm may be used to test any statement the Exalt reads or overhears and provides the Infernal with certain knowledge of whether the statement was presented as a complete truth. Any intentional deception or meaningful omission of relevant data in any part of the tested statement returns the same negative response, so it is best to test a long statement frequently to isolate where the truth breaks down. If this Charm contests another, add the Infernal's Essence rating in bonus successes to the roll-off. Truth is measured from the perspective of the speaker rather than based on objective truth. Factual Determination Analysis does not supply the truth along with its binary measure.

Essence-Dissecting Stare
Cost: Special (see below); Mins: Essence 2; Type: Simple
Keywords: Combo-Basic
Duration: One hour
Prerequisite Charms: Factual Determination Analysis
She Who Lives In Her Name sees all that matters. This Charm duplicates the benefits of All-Encompassing Sorcerer's Sight apart from its type and duration. The cost to activate this Charm is (8 - [lower of Perception or Occult]) motes normally or zero motes if the Infernal has Essence 6+.

Counter-Conceptual Interposition
Cost: 8m; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Reflexive (Step 2)
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious, Shaping
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Essence-Dissecting Stare
Faced with any physical attack, the Principle of Hierarchy may reshape reality to produce a phenomenon or event capable of neutralizing the attack. This Charm is a perfect parry against any attack the Infernal can perceive, even unblockable attacks. The default manifestation is an orb of crystalline fire that appears in the path of the attack, shattering to stop the blow or projectile just before it hits the Exalt. Where the sphere shatters, a ripple of bent space flows out like a stone dropped into a pond. It is possible to manifest any instant duration effect that could provide a parry, however, such as a spray of water to snuff out a firewand's torrent or a concussive thunderclap that knocks aside an incoming arrow. Such variations are stunts, so creative use can reduce the cost of the Charm to match the perfect defenses of other Yozis. Counter-Conceptual Interposition is vulnerable to the Imperfection of the Principle of Hierarchy.

Ego-Infused Pattern Primacy
Cost: —; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Permanent
Keywords: Shaping
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Essence-Dissecting Stare
It is not the place of the universe to dictate the identity of the Principle of Hierarchy. Whenever a Shaping effect alters an Infernal with this Charm in a manner her player does not approve of, the character's Essence reasserts its integrity like an immune system waging war on a plague. The offending Shaping reverses itself after one hour, during which time the character suffers a -1 internal penalty to all nonreflexive actions from the psychic effort of resistance and can't be further changed by continued exposure or reapplication of the same Shaping effect during this time. Thus, healing from Wyld-induced mutation ensures immunity to further mutation while recovering, but Shaping inflicted by a Charm would only leave the Infernal immune to that singular Charm. Until the Shaping reverses itself, the Exalt must still contend with all effects of his changed state. If the character suffers multiple undesired Shaping effects, they heal back in whatever order the Infernal's player chooses, but only one effect heals at a time. It is possible to initiate healing against Shaping the character originally permitted, should the change become undesirable.
A second purchase at Essence 3+ shortens the interval of regeneration to one minute. A third purchase (still at Essence 3+) allows instantaneous recovery for a reflexive cost of two motes, as the Infernal begins changing back before the offending Shaping fully resolves.

Mind-Hand Manipulation
Cost: 10m; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Simple
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious, Sorcerous
Duration: Indefinite
Prerequisite Charms: Essence-Dissecting Stare
The spinning orbs of She Who Lives In Her Name have no hands with which to grapple and impose order on the world. They are not so crude. With this Charm active, the Infernal may move other objects with his mind as though manipulating them with his own body, exerting force or even lifting objects and carrying them through the air at speeds up to his own current velocity. His telekinesis trails Obvious ripples of spatial distortion and white light as prehensile tendrils of mental force. This Charm has a Dexterity equal to his Willpower and a Strength equal to his Essence. The associatedAbility to use this Charm is Occult, whether for attacking with direct force or hurling objects, or to determine effective (Strength + Athletics) total for a mind-powered feat of strength. If a floating weapon is wielded this way, the Ability is the lower rating of the normal trait and Occult, and all actions using the weapon suffer a -3 external penalty. Unlike most Sorcerous Charms, the Essence for this Charm must be committed, but the effect may also be terminated at will by ending this commitment. Mind-Hand Manipulation can move perceived incorporeal beings and objects, but its effective Strength is halved.
Moving objects with Mind-Hand Manipulation requires the same actions as doing so normally. All actions suffer range penalties like an attack with a range interval of (Willpower + Essence). Objects that have been lifted into the air fall when the action taken to move them ends, though up to (Essence) separate objects may be held stationary between actions, reflexively levitated through force of will. Grabbing anything that resists requires a clinch attack, but opponents who win control of a clinch do not get to grapple the Exalt and may only choose to escape. Moreover, clinches can only be maintained with renewed control rolls as normal, so victims can't be held aloft with merely reflexive effort. Unlike most ranged attacks, telekinesis granted by this Charm may be used defensively to deflect projectiles and weaken blows, as represented by the parry option provided by the Charm's Defense rating.
Infernals with Essence 3+ add a third attack option, in which they can focus their mental force to scalpel sharpness with which to vivisect those whodisplease or intrigue them. Repurchase of this Charm at Essence 4+ allows an Infernal to spend one Willpower whenever a telekinetic attack would inflict two or more actual levels of damage.Invoking this power replaces all damage with a Crippling amputation of the Exalt's choice. Such injuries self-seal as though cauterized and do not even bleed. Telekinetically wielded weapons can't amputate victims this way.

Telekinetic Blow: Speed 5, Accuracy (Willpower + Occult), Damage (Essence)B/2B, Defense (Willpower + Occult), Rate (Essence up to 5), Range (Willpower + Essence). Tags: O
Telekinetic Clinch: Speed 6, Accuracy (Willpower + Occult), Damage (Essence)B/2B, Rate 1, Range (Willpower + Essence). Tags: O

Omake - Happy Crafting (Canon)
Happy Crafting

She hummed happily as she worked, the gentle tune helping her keep her focus and ignore the shadows constantly flitting around the room. They were always darting in and whispering, trying to distract her with the most intimate secrets of the Void or warnings about why she should avoid hairdryers, but she'd gotten good at blocking them out when she didn't need them or didn't want them.

Slowly, carefully, she stripped off another strand and began teasing it into place alongside the countless others she'd already threaded. Fitting the dense mesh together like this took a long time- certainly a lot longer than just slapping it in as a single mass- but in her opinion the results were worth it, and her little friend the talking fly agreed.

Sticking her tongue out of the side her mouth in concentration, she cut the strand down to size before gently finishing dabbing it into place, then sealing it in with a flare of cold, necrotic essence. Reaching back, she took another strand and repeated the process again. And again. And again. Building the structure, strand by stran-

-her grasping fingers closed on nothing, and she frowned. Looking up from her work, she clicked her tongue in annoyance as she saw that she'd run out of strands. "Tooo hasty... tooooo quick..." Her watch hissed, taunting her. A quick smack against the metal frame she was working on shut it up, however, and left her free to focus on accessing more of her supply.

Turning the platform her hunk of flesh was strapped onto, she picked up a thin-bladed flaying knife and began carefully carving the skin off its remaining unharvested limb. Darkness flitted over it momentarily as she worked, a pattern only she could see that whispered directions in her mind, revealing the best way to remove the skin without harming the valuable muscle beneath, and she silently whispered a thank you in appreciation.

Before long she'd stripped every last inch of unwanted flesh from the meat's limb, so she set down her blade and began extracting fleshy strands once more. Some of them leered at her, begging her not to touch them, but she easily ignored the distraction and carried on working.

Under her swift yet sure movements, it wasn't long before there was nothing left but a length of stripped bone, barely held together by the remaining ligaments. Sighing, she set down her tools and looked regretfully at the body. It was such a shame, going through such high quality material so quickly, but it was unfortunately inevitable.

Still, at least she could get one more use out of this one.

Carefully, she undid the restraints that had been holding the meat's chest down. It tried to move the instant she released it, perhaps to fight back, or perhaps to flee or protest, but with its limbs stripped bare all it achieved was a few spasmodic jerks. Still, the display was enough to make her frown, before she slapped it across the face.

"You've been such a good puppet…" She said, before bringing a hand up to her mouth to hide a giggle, "And you've got such a good fate left to you. Don't spoil it now~"

Weak and feeble groans emerged from behind the flesh's gag in response to her words, but she ignored them. Instead, her hand began to paradoxically glow with darkness, a cold shadow that seemed to drink and devour the light around it. Pressing her fingers together into a knife hand, she carefully touched the tips of her fingers against its chest and slowly traced a large circle on it, flesh and bone rotting in the wake of her touch.

As she brought her fingers back around to where she'd first started cutting the dark aura around her hand faded. Digging the fingers of both hands into the groove she'd just carved, she grimaced and began straining, pulling with all her might. For several seconds nothing happened, but then she lurched back as without warning its entire chest and ribcage broke off with a sickening crack.

Tossing the worthless chunk of flesh and bone off to one side, she began digging into the now-exposed organs of the writhing lump of meat before her with a frown on her face. After several seconds, however, it stopped moving and her frown turned to a smile as she yanked something deep red from the depths of its chest.

Turning the heart over in her hands, she spent the next several seconds examining it closely before bringing it up to her face and giving a quick, careful lick.

"Perfect." She pronounced, whilst the heart giggled from the tickling touch of her tongue. "Absolutely flawless."

"Hehe, too kind, you are, too kind." The heart replied, blushing bashfully at her comment. Petting it friendlily, eliciting another giggle in the process, she carefully carried it over to the metal frame and set it within a special slot. A few moments work had it attached to several lengths of metal tubing, and then she closed the hatch on it.

"Bye bye." She muttered as the heart disappeared behind the grey metal. After taking a moment to lick her hands clean, she walked over to a button by the now useless flesh and smacked it, causing the platform she was on to immediately start descending. And as it did, she considered the other flesh sacks restrained down below; which one would be the most suitable to use next? As she pondered the question, however, the shadows answered her question for her. Darkness flitted around the smallest of the remaining meat sources, forming into shapes and images that showed her exactly how to incorporate it into her design.

"Wonderful~" She smiled, thankful once again for the guidance and help of her masters as she stepped off the platform and began making her way over to her newest source of useful flesh.

ABYSS

Corporal Carmine whimpered as the happily smiling, blond haired, bloody-eyed woman approached him. He'd seen what she'd done his comrades, and wasn't fooled by her pleasant expression; he knew all too well what fate awaited him. Desperately, he began struggling against the restraints that held him, panicked prayers to whatever god or goddess might be listening working their way past his gag as spluttered screams. Pleas for mercy, rescue... even simply a swift death rather than the torture the woman would put him through.

If any of them heard, none of them answered.
