FATHER QUEST: Turn Marker
Omake: Pondering the Past
Omake: Pondering the Past

Father chewed idly on his pipe as he stared off into the distance. Lost in his thoughts at the moment. He was currently seated in a plush recliner chair in his newly renovated home. A fireplace before him crackling quietly. The walls decorated in a tasteful blue wallpaper with white columns braced in the corners. Several of his knight like robots standing to the sides. A side table baring a black phone for work on his left.

He was pondering what led him to this moment. Grandfather was dead. He had killed the old man. Vaporized the old bastard with his own power. Nothing but ashes that he himself had scattered back in England.

Part of him still couldn't believe that he had done it. He had finally managed to destroy that old man. If not exactly in the way that he had long dreamed of doing so. Father had been the one to bring him back in the first place. Maybe finally get the old man to respect him. Fitting in a way that it was him who destroyed Grandfather once and for all.

Did he regret doing it? No, he did not regret it in the slightest. He never would regret it no matter what some goody two shoes might say. Father hated that old wretch more than words could describe. He always had deep down. A deep seated resentment that was planted during childhood and had festered within him ever since. All those long hours trapped in those wretched factories. The endless suffocating stench of tapioca in the air. The aches and pains of all that hard work. All of that had never truly gone away merely been buried under years of anger and work.

Part of him still was amazed that he had actually pulled it off. Father was all too aware of the balance of power between the two of them. He knew full well that his own powers had come from Grandfather. You could even say that his abilities were a lesser derivative of his fathers. Much as it galled him to admit it Grandfather was more powerful than he would ever be. That wasn't even getting into the old wretches more exotic abilities.

At least he had believed that to be the case. Yet he was the one still standing after their clash. How had that happened? He could only assume that he had managed to somehow dig deeper into his powers than ever before. All he could really remember was the seething hot rage than poured through him. The crazed rush of energy that thrummed inside. The wicked joy as he brought forth destruction.

How had he brought it on then? Could it be that he had simply been so angry that he overcame some barrier within? Father knew that deep inside some part of him had still wanted the old man's approval. Some part that was still afraid of him after all those years. He supposed what had happened had been the last straw.

He had brought the old codger back. Yet it was still Monty who was the favorite. Even when it was Monty who overthrew Grandfather to begin with. That blast that sent him flying had made something within him snap. That mental block finally coming undone. Allowing the hate to flow forth and letting his fire burn hotter than ever. Finally destroying the shadow that had loomed over him for so long.

The only question was what now?

@HellaCooltricks
I'd like to use this for dealing with Adult co.

Omakes: Lucky Lydia Makes Some Friends
Lucky Lydia Meets Some New Friends

Lydia smiled her classic smile as she bent down to pick a 16-leaf clover. 4 times as lucky as a four-leaf! Sure, things had been... weird lately, even if nobody seemed to be sure what was going on exactly, but things weren't that bad!

Sure, she hadn't seen Bernice or Bernice's mom recently and her mom and dad wouldn't tell her what happened... but she was sure there was a good reason!

Anyway, she was kicking a familiar diamond around, when she noticed some scuffed up kids acting weird. They looked like they hadn't had any fun in... a while. So se went over to say hi.

"I'm telling you. Father's back! He blew up one of those big monsters rolling around in his old turf, and he's probably pulling the old Adult Villains back together right now!" a blond girl claimed fearfully.

"And what are we supposed to do about it? Sis isn't answering our calls, and none of the other cells are in any shape to try and take him on right now." a blond boy noted, eyes hard. He had a 363 written in marker on his... hat? Lydia was going to call it a hat.

"Well, I guess there's one upside to the world turning sideways and giving itself a good shake. The old you would have had us try and take him on ourselves." a boy in a trapper hat commented, the hat covering his hair and eyes alike. He was bobbing a yo-yo up and down with the sort of casual ease Lydia only saw in people who practiced.

"I'm not dumb enough to try and fight the guy who obliterated Grandfather when he worked up the motivation to actually try." the blond boy scowled, trying to tug his helmet down tighter on his head. "For now, we need more recruits. They'll have to train on the mission, but, well, we don't have any better options."

Lydia was missing a lot of context, so she did what she did best and pushed through the strangeness with a grin on her face. "Uh, hey there." the trio started, but relaxed when they saw her, well, somewhat. "You guys new in the neighborhood?"

The trio glanced at each other. "You could say that, yeah. You know where the kids hang out around here?" the blond boy asked.

"Well, there's the clubhouse, but a bunch of kids have, uh, moved away recently, so my mom wants me home soon. We could play some video games if you want! Feel free to take some of the leprechaun gold too. It's not really worth anything these days, though I can't say I'm sad about the way candy's gone up in the world!" Lydia said with a bit more cheer than she really felt. While they had plenty of money, or well, 'money', she'd only bothered getting the games because there wasn't anybody to play with these days.

The girl mouthed 'leprechaun gold?' in confusion, while the boy nodded at her. "Sure, lead the way."

A few minutes walk found them at Lydia's house, where she was unsurprised to find her parents watching the TV, concerned expressions on their faces. "Hey mom, I found some new friends! We're gonna play video games!" she called, not waiting for a response that wouldn't come and dragged the other three kids to her room.

"Huh. Nice set." trapper hat boy nodded at her Funstation, Gamechild, and perfectly normal computer. She could play games with it just fine, but the Internet was off. Something her mother had insisted on, though she wouldn't explain why. ...She was sure there was a good reason though.

"Thanks..." Lydia's facade cracked slightly as she realized this was the first time she'd had anybody over in nearly a month. She pushed it down. Everything would be fine.

"Call me..." he glanced at the other boy in the room, who nodded at him. "Numbuh 84."

"Some kind of codename?" Lydia asked.

"Yeah. I'm 363, and this is 83." the blond boy noted.

"Uh, listen Lydia, how much do you know about what's going on out there?" 83 asked.

"...Not a lot." Lydia admitted. "Something's gone wrong, but nobody can tell me what or why. Heck, different news channels are saying some of the same things, and completely disagreeing on others, and any two of them will agree and disagree on different things."

"You watch the news?" 363 asked, a hint of suspicion in his eyes.

"My parents don't do much besides watch the news these days." Lydia sighed, her usual easy grin fading fast.

"Hm, well if it's information you want, I think we can do that much..."

AN: Lucky Lydia is from this particular CN Pilot. You know Milo Murphy? Well, she's the opposite of that. She literally has a pile of leprechaun gold outside her house because she keeps getting hit by rainbows every time it rains, and once kicked around a diamond the size of an orange like a rock while bored. I imagine she'd have garbage stats like the Toiletnator(though she has the excuse of being like 10 at most, probably younger, and she can be pretty observant when she wants to be) but have a special Trait:

The Anti-Murphy. Lydia leads a charmed life. Anything that can go right, will go right. It's a good thing she's a good-natured kid, or else she could probably cause a lot of havoc, rather than the odd bout of mischief when bored. When assigned to an action, add 10 to the critical success chance, and lower the critical failure chance by 10, or to the limit of the success and failure chances.

Which, as you can imagine, would be horrifically overpowered if she was set on a high success chance action. A 15% chance to crit means that a double crit is 2.25%, as opposed to a 0.25% chance for a 5% single crit to double crit, and if she learns to properly harness her abilities it could get to insane heights. Let's say she was set on an action with an 80% chance of success. 8% chance to crit succeed means a 18% chance for her, or a 3.24% chance to double crit. Honestly, she'd probably be mostly useful for handling crit fail debuffs.

Her more reliable trait would probably be something like:

Tumbleweed of the Strange. Lydia has a habit of picking up unusual and rare materials seemingly from nowhere. She won't be able to, say, randomly stumble across the Mona Lisa, but if you need gold, titanium, diamonds, etc.? You'll find it or the means to purchase it readily available. Significant income/generic resource harvest boost.

Now, this might seem really strong, but Lydia is a Slice of Life protagonist, and her 'Villains' (for a given value of Villains) aren't evil enough to qualify for Aku's boost, so while she's not doing great like most of the world, she hasn't lost like most of the heroes. Not the least because she's not above doing something a little morally dubious under peer pressure.

Omake: Construction Work
Omake: Construction Work

Father frowned to himself as he looked over his new blueprints. Upon them the design for his newest personal project. A giant robot with which to enact his will. Or at least there would be soon enough. Once he had figured out just what he was going to make. That part was unfortunately rather slow to come to him.

He chewed on his pipe as he thought. It was possible that he could just fall back on an old favorite. His old mansion hadn't been the only thing demolished after all. His garage containing all of the older machines had been wrecked as well. Even his old favorite machine had been reduced to little better than scrap. With the computer and the bots themselves wrecked he would have to rebuild them himself. Or rather use employees and potentially the knight bots to do the actual labor.

The first thing that came to mind was to rebuild his old favorite. The Really Really Incredibly Destructive Machine. Ugh he really needed to come up with a better name for it. That was just a mouthful to say and would get old really fast. It made sense to do so. It was easily his most powerful machine. Being more than capable of dealing with any of those KND remnants that might be hanging around. As shown with how it made mince meat out of those five brats and their treehouse a while back. At the same time it could deal with those monsters that had started cropping up like that fish creature.

The cost and time to do so was just out there. There was a reason he had rarely ever used it. And only allowed his children to use it the once. Father knew that they had tried to build their own lesser version of it. That one had gotten wrecked during some plan of theirs at school. Not surprising really given they didn't really know how to build their own. Just being able to build a cheap knockoff of the original.

That machine was expensive as heck. Only someone with a lot of experience with mechanics would understand just what went in to it. The materials to construct the hull alone would be more expensive than most skyscrapers and similar structures in terms of scale. Do you think normal steel could withstand laser blasts like that? No that was specially crafted armor custom made to endure all kinds of punishment. Getting a hold of it all would be a real exercise for his wallet.

That wasn't even getting in to all of the weapons and gadgets. All of the custom made machinery and parts that went in to it. The mechanisms and regeneration tech installed in the tendrils. The servos and gyroscope in the quartet of legs. The needed miniaturized firing mechanism for the rocket launchers. Don't even get him started on the flaming chainsaws. You had to properly balance the chemicals for the flames while ensuring the saws themselves were not hindered or damaged by the heat. That had been a long bout of trial and error to make. Not to mention the sheer size of it would make the entire thing take a sizable length of time to complete.

That was the reason he rarely used it. If it got damaged, however unlikely that was, it would take a small fortune to fix just one system. It's why he had specified not one scratch to his children when they borrowed it. His pockets while deep were not infinite. He would rather not invest so much while his businesses were still out of sorts even if he could technically do it.

So that left him to build something else then. The only question to that being what?

@HellaCooltricks

Giant robot.

Omake: Two Fallen Heroes
Two Fallen Heroes

Prince Topaz sighed as he observed one of the rebel camps, where the frog people were doing some basic drills. They'd be no match for any serious spellwork or monsters one on one, nevermind Dark Opal himself, but they had a number advantage, and they were working on leveraging it. He'd actually felt a spark of hope when Princess Amethyst had shown up. She'd beaten him in a swordfight, so she actually had a chance of doing the same against Dark Opal, and she'd been kind despite his failure and tendency to literally fall to pieces, being a skeleton animated by his soul and magic as much as anything else. Then she'd gone to fight Dark Opal, and he couldn't help but think that if he'd joined her, they wouldn't be in this mess. Sure, he'd gotten soundly trounced the first time they fought, but he could at least distract the dark wizard.

The Good Witch had been trying to salvage things in the weeks that had followed the appearance of Dark Opal's new 'general' and the desperate struggle that ensued, and, frankly, he hadn't had much choice but to step up. It was at least theoretically possible to fix this, hence him being here at all instead of hanging out in his cave, wallowing in his failure and watching his kingdom crumble away under Dark Opal's malevolence. If for no other reason than he owed it to his people to try.

He called for a ten minute break as the frogs started to lag, and went to talk to the Good Witch. One upside of being nothing but bones was that he didn't really get tired any more, so he could do a lot of extra work training and managing the rebellion. Of course, he didn't have anybody to spar with, and drills only helped so much one he'd gotten used to his lighter skeleton body, so the only real way to improve was to get involved in real fights with Dark Opal's forces.

"Learned anything new?" he asked. He'd asked her about Amethyst the first time they'd seen each other after the Princess' disastrous confrontation with Dark Opal. She'd claimed something had gone wrong with Earth, and that had in turn affected the princess and her struggle with Dark Opal, though she'd also claimed to need some time to figure out what it was.

The Good Witch seemed... shaken, which surprised Prince Topaz. He'd never known her to be fazed by anything.

"You could say that, yes." she began. She tossed a pinch of something into a bubbling cauldron, and a burst of purple smoke erupted from it. Being a skeleton, Topaz waving it away was more reflex than anything else. "The Earth has suffered some kind of... dimensional cleaving, different timelines crudely patched together like a child gluing puzzle pieces into place. One of those pieces included a being of.. pure evil." she explained, as the cauldron resolved a picture of a black being with a green face and a crown of flames, it grinned down at the Earth, which Topaz could feel a palpable wrongness from, even though he'd never seen it before. "It's influence is the reason Dark Opal won. What it wants more than anything is a world where evil is law, and it's mere presence is tilting the balance towards that end. Princess Amethyst isn't the only hero to have fallen, one way or another." images swirled through the cauldron. One of a madman wearing a crown surrounded by mountains of ice and snow, several people visibly frozen as he rambled on about nothing to no one, another of a pirate captain laughing as he ordered entire fleets about, a teenager grinning with clear malice as he oversaw the construction of empty, mindless machines to deliver death and destruction, a child whose aura made Dark Opal look like a mischievous candy thief ordering demons and a girl in a black hooded cloak bearing a scythe around, what appeared to be a man cloaked in shadow going over plans to make children suffer for no reason other than personal hatred, crystalline people sucking the very life out of the Earth to make more of their kind, and on and on it went, the entire planet overrun with monsters and monstrous beings.

"As you can see, we're just one front in a battle between good and evil that good is losing. We can't count on any more outside help. Still, there is some hope."

"Good, because this whole conversation has been a nightmare so far." Topaz commented, too wrung out to muster much in the way of enthusiasm at the best of times these days.

The Good Witch threw another pinch of something into the cauldron. Topaz saw a number of different people still fighting against the darkness, often in similarly dire straits as they were, but there was the odd act of kindness carried out by the same evil people he'd just seen, hinting that there might be some hope from that quarter as well. What really drew his attention was the last image, which showed Dark Amethyst, her clothes a blackened, jagged parody of her old outfit, not unlike their wearer, had paused, jerking in the middle of flinging a wave of dark magic around as she swung her sword. Slowly the dark magic faded, and the Princess' expression shifted into something softer, brighter magic sputtering into being, before solidifying into something similar to the dark magic she was using before. The Princess began to practice with her normal magic, learning it's ins and outs with remarkable speed.

"She's still in there?" Topaz asked, a spark of hope he'd thought quenched reigniting.

"Yes. She can't break out for long, or reliably, but we can get her back. We just need to hang on long enough to manage it." the good Witch answered, a slight smile on her face as Amy Winston practiced with her magic. These were the opposite of ideal circumstances, but it was nice to see her learning to use her gifts.

***

Amy huffed as she worked on imbuing her sword with magic and firing it off in various ways. She paused as a thought occurred to her, concentrating hard on a particular idea regarding her sword and the magic involved. With a grunt of exertion, her sword transformed into a staff, and a quick test showed that it was quite the amplifier of her magic, shattering a nearby boulder where the slashes had only managed to crack it.

While Dark Opal had forced her to serve him, he apparently hadn't managed to patch up all the cracks. She could feel his spell pressing down on her though, so she couldn't risk trying to find Topaz or the witch from before, since she didn't know how long she had before the personality that obeyed Dark Opal was in charge again. She could prepare though. If she got back control close to Dark Opal, she'd be ready, and if nothing else, she could sabotage 'Dark Amethyst' and her training session to keep her from destroying the rebellion... more. Another 10 minutes of practice, the spell weighing down on her a little harder by the moment, and she changed the staff back into a sword just in case. She didn't think Dark Amethyst knew about her, and she'd like to keep it that way so she could ambush Dark Opal. At this point, literally stabbing him in the back was sounding pretty good...

Dark Amethyst shook herself. Why was she thinking like that? And why was her magic so drained? Had she overdone it on that last strike? The rubble where that one boulder used to be certainly point to that conclusion. She set off to report back to the dark lord of Gemworld her lack of progress on her training. Perhaps she might persuade him to let her try again? He was remarkably understanding of her inadequacies in that regard.

AN: Like I said, Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld works as a standalone thing like Teen Titans. In this case, 'Dark Amethyst' the equivalent of General Platyborg for Dark Opal, was the result of a similar brainwashing technique, though based on magic and not science. As Amy has some magical talents of her own, and this iteration of Gemworld is a World-style Imaginary Friend created by her with a more complete world and many denizens because she possesses some Occult talent to bolster the phenomenon and a framework in the form of the video game she's making, she can break free if the action she's assigned to crit fails(or a Personal rolls 10 or lower) and do an Action of her own, though training Personals usually just get rerolled with Amy/Amethyst as the sole beneficiary rather than Dark Amethyst training and Amy copying her by virtue of sharing headspace.

The gimmick of Dark Opal's faction is that 'Dark Amethyst' is likely to be competitive with Opal himself at worst, and his direct superior in some or all Stats throughout much of the game, as her Personals with him are technically Nemesis Actions, as are her Crit Fail actions, essentially putting her in a pressure cooker. Additionally, as Gemworld is technically a figment of her imagination, there is a fundamental issue with Dark Opal, or really anyone from Gemworld, controlling Amethyst in this fashion, so she's effectively got a secondary EXP boost ability going on as long as this mess is happening beyond normal Nemesis stuff. Unless actively suppressed, she will rapidly gain Stats and Traits to the point she hit double-digit advantages over Dark Opal across the board. Occult in particular is a problem for him, as gaining an advantage over him makes it easier for her to break free, to the point she might do so automatically per Crit Fail. As Amethyst is actively trying to break free, she effectively has a +10 to crit fail chances, and Dark Opal puts up with her mostly because he doesn't have a lot of other Hero Unit options, and Dark Amethyst has 100% Loyalty in her non-Crit Fail state, which gives a bit of a buffer before her Stats effectively surpassing his actually puts him in danger.

It also helps that, despite Aku's influence, Amy effectively has a homeground advantage here, since it's her world. A post-freedom Amethyst, or even before if Dark Opal gets lucky with his recovery rolls, could get a bonkers 'One Ring close to Mount Doom' Trait that boosts her in Gemworld, giving her something like +10 to everything before any effort is put into upgrading it. Of course, if she does break free at this point, he's basically screwed. Still, based on normal forum culture, I doubt the players could resist the shiny every-growing Hero Unit.

Omake: I sell (Toilet)Paper and (Toilet)Paper Accessories

I sell (Toilet)Paper and (Toilet)Paper Accessories

Hank Hill was still getting accustomed to his new job. Going from his local propane store to CEO of the world's biggest office supplies company was a fairly massive jump, but not one he necessarily regretted. The pay was good, he was allowed to decorate his office however he liked, and Father was even trying to help the USA get back on its feet. For an Englishman he was showing an incredible amount of patriotism. Outside of the lack of Propane (he should really see if he can get Father to let him handle the company's Energy readjustment to help him fix that); the biggest issue was the blatant insanity of how a super-villain company operates.

While the paper manufacturing departments were what he was expecting; along with the photocopiers and cubicles; the more out of the way the departments are, the more likely it was some weird thing Hank wished he never knew about. The fact coffee is drilled for rather than just grown was one thing; as was the super-scientist inventing new flavors of ice cream. The people building giant death robots were another entirely. He also didn't enjoy the meeting where the various upper managers would debate on whether they should build a candy stock exchange or try to buy a news network. And after the trip to the tie factory Hank has swapped completely over to bow-ties. He doesn't care if they are overly formal, he is not letting one of those things near his neck again.

Now, his boss wanted him to reverse engineer alien technology. Something about being the "Best person for the job". Hank at the very least was given a team of scientists to help him understand the greater principles. He began to think of his coworkers and if they would be better at this then him. He knows that the new girl Izzy was sent to assist Father in keeping the Gems off America's soil. He also is pretty sure Izzy Explosivo is not her real name, but at the very least he can appreciate her help. Father has also decided to hire the weird skull face wizard instead of the more polite one; but Hank really didn't want to learn about magic like that so he wasn't gonna raise any complaints. The candy pirate also was apparently just a friend of Mr. Uno, and not likely to stick around to help much longer. That just leaves…

Immediately weird noises began coming from the pipes directly above Hank. Knowing what was about to happen, he sighed and moved the various Gem Tech as far away from the pipes as possible. Sure enough around 2 minutes later the pipe burst and Toiletnator came tumbling out.

"I have you now Numbuh Thirte… Oh, Hi Mr. Hill!"

"Hello Lou, I take it you're still trying to 'deal with' that child?"

"Yep; he's a dastardly one! Luckily I managed to figure out he was going to be heading to the Ice Cream Freezers and sought to cut him off!" The soopervillain paused to look around before it slowly dawned on him that this wasn't the Ice Cream Freezers.

"Wait a minute, this isn't the ice cream department; it's the main Research and Development department! Did you know that I used to be the chief executive of this place!"

Hank didn't know how to respond to this. Oh sure he knew Toiletnator had worked for Father for years, but didn't ever think he was anything more than a janitor. This man seemed to be incapable of doing his taxes; and yet he apparantly managed one of the company's most important departments. Come to think of it, some of the old business magazines in the break room had a guy that looked like the Toiletnator on the cover…

"What happened to cause Father to demote you?" Hank's belief in his ability to limit his connection with the more absurd parts of the company was slowly starting to die.

"Demote me? What are you talking about! After the despicable Kids Next Door attacked us to stop us from making new, disgusting vegetables for them to eat I was trapped in a portapotty for days; with nothing to eat but urinal cakes. It was there The Almighty Protector of Potty's chose me to be his champion! To punish those kids who mistreated the bathroom and…"

"Can you please hurry along,Father wants me to reverse engineering this" he gulps "Alien technology"

"Oh sure; well anyway I asked Father if I could become one of his Soopervillains, and he said 'I never want you in another management position again after you tried to build a refinery without any nails.' So now I defend toilets around the world!".

Hank stops listening and instead starts heading to a valve, which uses to turn off all water to the lab. "Hey Lou, can I ask you a favor? Clean up the water that got all over the floor while I get a new pipe to replace the one you broke."

As Hank was preparing to leave, he remembered something important "Also, aren't you supposed to be buying a news company right now"

"Oh that? Father told me he never wants me to meet new people without his direct supervision, I find it nice he cares about me enough to see my successes. But sure thing Mr.Hill!"

Putting his palm to his face Hank began walking away to the maintenance closet, At the very least this is something he is used to doing and not some absurd supervillain plot to destroy children's happiness like so many other things in the company. He was actually starting to worry somewhat, if a former high ranking executive got into a situation where he became a terrible supervillain; what if something similar happened to him?

Omake: Giving the Crystal Gems some Shine
Giving the Crystal Gems a Shine

After pushing further into Gem territory, Father was quite surprised to find the presence of gem rebels also taking part in fighting. Getting in contact with the group, he was even further surprised that these Crystal Gems have long since been living on the planet and have even fought off a previous invasion attempt long ago. They had apparently took a huge loss at the start but their numbers starting surging following defection from many Homeworld Gems and assistance from from humans. Forming an alliance proved easy with his reputation and with their help made great strides pushing back the Homeworld Gems to the edges of their newly created colony in a single year. However getting them to join under him was a different story.

He had floated the topic several times to them, and eventually the group after a few meetings deliberating agreed but only if he can fulfill one condition, the curing of corrupted Gems. A difficult task especially one he had no knowledge of how to start but don't let it be said he didn't at least give it a try. He had grabbed some of his eggheads to tackle the issue and even asked that sad brat Steven to help out since he was only one to survive contact with the corruption bomb. Amazingly, it wasn't long after several months did they managed to get some positive results.

At first there some issues as nothing was able to affect the corruption even with bits of of acquired gem technology however the brat explained that the issue was more mental than anything physical which gave them the idea of using delightfulization machine, after some heavy modification and a dozen attempts they finally managed to get corrupted Homeworld Gem to partially revert and then fully with the kid's aid.

The success has stunned the Crystal Gems and now have them clamoring desperately wanting to see the results with their own eyes before anything else which is the main reason why he is going with them to the testing facility.

Approaching the observation room overlooking the test, he pushed open the doors and had a look on the Gems standing in the room. He saw the main head of the group Bismuth, and her core group Amethyst, that one girl brat with the sword, an unexplained pink lion and Sapphire. The latter of which had her hands pressed again the reinforced glass overlooking the test. Despite his power keeping him at a comfortable room temperature he couldn't help but let a shiver at the the sight of her, she may seemed to be calm and collected fighting but it's a different story when Jasper or Peridot involved.

Shaking his head he was approached by Bismuth.

"Is everything ready" she asked in a gruff tone.

"Everything is in place, the gem is being brought in right now", he said. The Gems were intensely vocal of this gem being cured first especially Sapphire if the amount of frost encroaching onto the glass is anything to say about it.

Anything she was going to say was cutoff as the doors to the testing room opened and Steven emerged tenderly holding a single bubbled Ruby gem as he headed toward the now dubbed normalization machine. Everything was deathly silent as he stood in front of the chamber and then released the bubble. The gem was caught by him and gently kissed it before it can start reforming. Having been informed beforehand of its effect, he was still slightly caught of guard as the newly reformed gem now in a more humanoid state did nothing hostile toward the brat was even peacefully led to the inside of the chamber.

In the control room several scientist lay scattered in front of dozens of computers.

"All systems are nominal, gem is now in the best optimal state, we are good to go".

Father took one more glance at the hopeful faces( wait where did Sapphire go?).

"Do it" he commanded.
All at once several lights begin shining and chamber holding the Ruby became immersed in light. After several tense minutes a large boom was heard and the chamber slowly opened revealing a figure obscured by smoke. When it cleared, a small Ruby was laying on the floor struggling to get up.
"Ruby?" whispered Steven, tears falling from his eyes.

"Steven, is that y-" coughed Ruby but before she can finished the sentence, the doors leading to the room were torn off by huge spikes of ice and a blue blur that headed right for Ruby.

"RUBY!, RUBY! Ruby!!!" cried Sapphire as she desperately clung on top of Ruby.
Tearing his gaze at the tearful reunion Father noticed that the rest of the room was also crying and smiling happily.

"Well?" he said "Have I not did my part of the agreement" he declared.

"Haha", Bismuth said wiping tears fronm her eyes. "You did didn't you, fine".
She stood taller and she boomed "You'll have us, our weapons and everything else we can give! Thats a promise!".

Anything else was interrupted as a large gem entered the room and everyone started to crowed around. Belatedly Father realize this must be the fusion of Ruby and Saphire that he heard in passing but before you can move, a small figure started hugging him. It was Steven.

"Thank you!" cried Steven his face full of tears and disgusting snot "You save Ruby, and now we can save Pearl and the others too".
"Get off me!" Father growled angrily resisting the urge to burn him.

Letting go, he seem to come up with something

"Oh wait right there, I got something for you" shouted Steven as he headed toward the pink lion and into it's mane. Scarcily a minute later he popped up with a cooler in hand.

"Here you go" said Steven happily, "It was supposed to be a surprise for me but I found out and I talked to your ice cream guys, and they said you love ice cream so here you go". Quickly he then rushed back to the large crowd.

Glaring at the back of beaming brat , Father reluctantly opened the container and was stunned of what was inside. It was several packages of Cookie Cat ice cream, he had thought all of them were long gone as it since stopped being made. Such a prize was never given to him, not even his own-, forget it, he shook his head. This whole day has been confusing but at least he has icecream.

A/N:
This is my first ever omake that I really had to make mainly because looking into what happen to the Crystal Gems in Cruel Network was depressing especially for Sapphire.
I apologize for the grammar, I had more planned but right now I'm sick in bed so I wrote this all on mobile. I might edit it once I feel better.

Omake: Life of a Candy Pirate: A Sweet Meeting
Life of a Candy Pirate: A Sweet Meeting
Candy Piracy, to some it's a odd occurrence in the seas of the Atlantic and the suburbs of the Americas, but to those who sail the seas themselves, there is no greater threat to precious cargo then candy hungry lunatics convinced that any ship sailing the seas has a bounty of delectable tooth rotting goodness.

Individuals of ill repute such as Captain Stickybeard, scourge of the seven suburbs, "Five Scoop" Lincoln, raider of Candy Pirates themselves or even the "Right Hand" of the lord of these surgery scourges, "Adventurer" Flapjack pillage the Atlantic in search of these treats for their own gluttonous gain or to carry favor with the Pirate Lord of Stormalong Harbor, the dreaded K'nuckles, whose desire for sugar and sweets went beyond the limits of any sane or rational person.

While these figures are whispered in hushed tones in any port that dares to contain even an ounce of Sweets, others…try their best despite circumstances preventing their names ever being known. Such an individual is Captain Handthony or Handy as the Pirate Lord himself calls him, a Candy Pirate of little fortune with a stubborn streak a mile long.

Three weeks, his crew has been out at sea, looking for any ship to raid and plunder, yet they always come up short. Any ship they did find had already been raided by another crew, thoughts of turning their weapons on some of the other Pirates has crossed the Captain's mind more then once, but he was no terror on the seas, not like others who have changed with the times, folks like the Soda Swashbucklers or the Caramel Corsairs who once were peers of his now out paced him in both their fortunes and standing as they brought in bounty after bounty.

He sat in his quarters, counting the chocolate coins he had remaining, supplies would have to last the next month at this rate and with what they had remaining…He slammed his hand onto the table in a rage before walking out to his ship, the Gummy Gunner, looking to his crew as dejected as ever, teeth as poor as a middle schooler who brushes three times a week, disgraceful for a people whose teeth should be as black as coal.

"Lads gather 'round, we've got new plans to make." He called out to his crew, loyal to a fault, but as sharp as a bag of hammers. "Now I know our luck has taken a plunge down to Davy Jones's foot locker, but rest assured that I-"

"I did not know Davy had a foot locker…or that his last name was Jones, why'd you not tell us Davy?" Interrupted one of the crew members, earning an internal sigh of anger from Handthony, before reading his pistol.

"My last name ain't Jones, it's-" A loud bang interrupts Davy as Handthony shot into the air "Be quite you lot, now as I was saying, our luck has been spotty and chances are we are not going to hit any of the local Ports for supplies anytime soon, but listen well lads, the crew of the Gummy Gunner are not going to sit by and let those stuck up fools like Stickybeard or Flapjack get the leg up on us, we are the future of piracy in these waters and I will not tolerate any-"

"Um Sir…not to interrupt ya again, but I think there is a Candy ship heading past us." Said Davy...whatever his last name was, as a loud murmuring of other crew members saying the same thing hit Handthony's ears like that infernal Death Metal, but before he could scream at his crew to shut up, his eyes turned to where the crew was pointing.

His eyes bulged out of his head as he saw what his crew was yammering about, a true blue boat made of Candy, looked like one of them river steamboats from way back, but he could tell it was made of surgery sweet goodness. Yet it did seem to be going far faster than any of those boats ever did, and had actual cannons on it, like any seaworthy vessel should.

"Hey…ain't that one of them EVO 'fings chasing the boat?" As if by que a large monstrous squid serpent monster rose from the depths chasing the fleeing candy boat, roaring and snapping it's jaws, even the beasts of the seas desired the sweet candy.

"...So it is…ya think the beastie is gonna eat the candy Sir?" The veins on Captain Handthony's head pulsed violently before he screamed out. "BATTLE STATIONS YOU TAFFY EATERS, I'LL NOT LOSE THIS PAYDAY TO A MONSTER!" Within moments, the Gummy Gunner rushed forth, uncaring about the monster and intent on reaching the literal vessel made of Candy.

Cannons fired from both vessels towards the beast, clearly not stopping from the impacts attempted to ram the Candy ship, Handthony yelled out to his crew to ready the Candy Cane Harpoons, all firing and few actually hitting the best. But the piercing pain for the EVO monster was enough of a distraction for the Gummy Gunner's main Cannon to fire a Gumball shot right into one of the beast's eyes, a roar of rage clearly driving it's focus to Handthony's ship. Normally the code of Pirates was to not rush into danger like this, but when such booty was one the line, any danger and accidental heroics was necessary for the prize.

As Handthony and his crew continued to battle the EVO beast, the Candy Ship continued it's own fire, Jawbreakers the size of a man's head crashed into the beast, now Handthony may not be the best Pirate, but he's lived his life on the seas, and he knows when the monsters realize that the effort is not worth the pain, so with one final roar, the beast submerges, fleeing to find easier prey. Leaving Handthony and his crew ready to loot the spoils of this Candy ship "Ready Lads, they be getting the welcome mat out for us, let's show 'em how we appreciate that HAHAHAHA"
========
They did in fact, have a Welcome mat ready for Handthony and his crew, a fact that stumped the captain to a degree his crew gave the…Candy People a impression they were hero types, a story Handthony was not keen on correcting given how much CANDY was aboard this ship.

"Oh Thank you, thank you kind strangers, your heroism is inspiring" the…Gumdrop person said, Handthony had seen much in his years, but to see a Candy Person speak and not just looming menacingly on Stormalong was a…odd prospect to say the least. But seeing how they were heaping praise on him and his crew, they might be willing to give some just payment "Twas no trouble at all my good Gumdrop, just doing what any true blooded Sugar Sailor of the seas would do, might I ask what your vessel is doing out here in the treacherous waters?" He said with all the sweetness he could muster, but the truth was that he is a bit curious about their reasons for being so far from any actual port.

"Oh, I'm not the one in charge here, that'd be the one who built this ship, hold on, I'll go get him real quick, just wait here captain hero man sir." The Gumdrop rushed off, almost tripping over some of the still unconscious Candy people and heading below deck.

As Captain Handthony waited, he watched his crew mingling with these Candy Folks, simple and nonsensical conversations abound, seems these candy folk were kindred to his dullard crew, something he would have to keep in mind if there was more of them. He would not wait long for what seemed to be their leader, they stepped out from under the deck cloaked in a purple robe and travelers gear, at first Handthony thought this was a normal person, but the Pink Skin was a dead giveaway "And who pray tell be ye who braves these seas and now speaks with the mighty Captain Handthony of the Candy Pirates" His voice carrying a bravado hopefully convincing this stranger he was more impressive than he actually was.

The pink stranger raised his hand to Handthony for a handshake "Oh…my name is Gumbald sir captain and to be quite frank, I was hoping to find one such Candy Pirate, I have an opportunity your leader might find really interesting. Something about a Land of Candy."

Omake: Potential Upgrades
Omake: Potential Upgrades

Father frowned to himself as he looked over his half completed blueprints. The project was coming along if rather slowly. Too slow for his taste, but he supposed you could not rush genius. At least not when you were the one doing the work. It would be convenient if you could though.

Pausing to think for a moment he let his eyes drift across the roof. Eventually they settled on one of his knight robots. The mechanical suit of armor standing guard in the corner. He then invisibly frowned as a thought occurred to him. His knight bots were quite frankly underperforming for him.

The idea had just now come to him. Pausing for a moment he let his mind roll back to the past. In particular the time the KND invaded his home. Oh he had not made it easy for them. His defense systems were impressive in their own right. Unfolding from various angles across his otherwise immaculate mansion to attack. Then of course when the brats got close the knights had marched forth to fight them. Buying time for him to complete his scheme. Though that particular plan had ended in failure.

Still though that was all they really did. It was a common trend for his work really. No robot he built in a short length of time or mass produced could hope to compete with him. They really only served some support role or were used by his children who lacked powers of their own. Before now he hadn't really thought about it much.

Now he looked at them with a more critical eye. His security was still present in the renovated mansion. Still it had been beaten before. Now that he had rebuilt it more for pleasure he was keen on keeping it secure. Especially now with things around the world turning into a real mess. He wasn't completely caught up yet, but even a passing look around could tell him that much.

The current model was lacking in terms of ability. They had been defeated by those KND brats far too easily for his liking. These were literal children without real combat training and ramshackle weapons. Logically they should have emerged the victor. Or at least held back the brats better.

It seemed to him some upgrades to the design were due. The first of which he decided would be the weaponry. Outside of the fiery variants they possessed no ranged ability. Father distinctly remembered them just marching to the enemy with hands outstretched. Getting pelted from afar and a good number being knocked down. Perhaps replacing one of the hands with a laser weapon would work. It would require some adjustments to the programming to aim and fire, but was easily doable.

The second would be their durability. Or at least their ability to take a hit and get back up. He was fairly sure those brats were shooting ice cream during the invasion. That would need to be taken care of. Maybe some adjustments to the kegs to ensure stability and bracing. Maybe a few changes to the composition of the armor itself.

The last was their intelligence. They were quite simply dumb as bricks. Just marching forward into ongoing fire was a sign of that. That was going to be tedious to do. It would require rewriting their programming to do so. Maybe some adjustments to the processors as well. Tedious and time consuming, but still doable.

Well that was what he had employees for he supposed. He would go over the new design after he was done with this project. No one was invading his home any time soon. Not if he had anything to say about it.

Omake: Potential Return
Omake: Potential Return

Chad Dickson grimaced to himself as he looked over the reports that he had received. The words on the paper painted a grim picture. Things were not looking good for teens across the world. Or for the kids for that matter. Or really anyone outside of a few powerful individuals. Needless to say he was not a fan of what was happening.

He remembered all too well what had happened not that long ago. It had been arguably the worst experience of his life. Unless there was somehow something worse he had somehow forgotten about. Unlikely as that may be. He remembered the awful wheezing laughter of that old fart Grandfather perfectly. The awful glowing eyes of those who had been caught and transformed. The weathered corpse-like skin he had seen. The frantic beating of his heart as he fled their claw like fingers. Then hiding desperately hoping that they wouldn't find him. God it had been awful.

Now he found himself back where he usually was. He had only heard of how Grandfather had been defeated. All he knew was that Father had been the one to do the deed. Somehow vaporizing the old bastard in one hell of a fight. Where he got the power to do it Chad didn't know. He wasn't sure he wanted to know either.

Unfortunately things had taken a turn for the worst after the geezer was defeated. Even after the old man's magic had been undone things were still a mess. Whole new problems had cropped up out of nowhere. Or rather things had come to a head on various fronts and were now spilling out of control. How they had gone unnoticed until now was beyond him.

Things should have been looking up for the teens. The KND was gone for all intents and purposes. Only a few remnants lingering without the resources or man power to build back up. The thought still made his heart ache. The adult villains had fallen apart without Father to keep them together. Not to mention with their arch enemy gone they just sort of drifted off not knowing what to do anymore. It should have left the teens with the upper hand. It turned out to be anything, but that.

That weird old ice wizard freezing things that was just plain crazy. An insane tyrannical AI that could mess with time and make monsters. That admittedly terrifying blond girl who had literal demons working for her. What could only be described as a weird magic storm in other parts of the world. Giant monsters appearing out of nowhere. It was all just too much. The Teen Ninjas were tough, but they couldn't handle all this. This chaos was well outside of their area of expertise.

His eyes drifted back to another piece of paper to the side. One of their operatives had reported back an important bit of information. Father was back after his extended absence. Apparently having returned to his usual stomping ground and rebuilding his old mansion. The only question was what to do about it.

The idea of going to him had crossed Chads mind. The teens couldn't handle all this themselves. Father had worked with them in the past so it wasn't too far out there. The problem was were they willing to. He would never admit it aloud, but the adult villain terrified him. Even more so now after knowing he had destroyed Grandfather. The more rebellious part of him didn't care for the idea either.

That wasn't even taking into account the others. Steve and Cree were both swamped in their own work. Either going through reports like this or trying to help out in the field. There was no telling what they would say on the matter. He knew Cree was still shaken up by what had happened. He had no idea what was going on in Steves head.

Sighing he turned his attention back to his work.

Omake: The Working Man
Omake: The Working Man

Hank Hill hummed to himself as he sorted through his paperwork. Around him his new office was coming together quite well. A large floor to ceiling window to his back. A black spinning office chair to sit in. A large metal and glass desk before him. A new computer to help him keep track of things. Two more wooden chairs set up on the other side.

Yes things were looking up for him. He was still amazed that he had promoted to CEO of the corporation. He was a bit sad about the increase in demand for his time. Still this just gave new opportunities for him and the family. He wasn't complaining about the increase in pay. Peggy was certainly thrilled about it. Last he talked to her she was gushing about maybe getting a new purse. Why she needed a new one was beyond him, but he decided against arguing.

Still he wasn't sure what exactly to think about all of this. Or to be more accurate the man who had given him the position. Father was a truly strange individual. He understood that the wealthy could at times be rather eccentric. Still his new employer really took the cake. The name alone was deserving of a raised eyebrow. It felt bizarre to address the man as Father when he knew full well who his parent was. Even if his relationship with said old man was rather strained. It wasn't due to him either.

What kind of man was he anyway? The man seemed to be perpetually shrouded in shadow even in broad daylight out in the open. Only his pale yellow eyes being visible. It even extended to that pipe of his. Was he even using that thing for the usual stuff? He couldn't recall ever seeing any smoke. Then of course there was the emphasis on seemingly every other word and the constant low level aggression he seemed to give off. Not that he had spent a great deal of time with him.

Then there was the whole fire business. Which was rather off putting in its own right. Part of him wondered if the man was some kind of demon for a minute. Then the more logical portion of his mind kicked him in the head for thinking that. He would not have stepped in with the fish monster if that was the case.

Now Hank didn't claim to be the most perceptive person. All that subterfuge stuff and rumor mongering was beyond him. Still even he had to admit that something was going on with the world. You just had to pay attention to the news to see it. Too much stuff that didn't seem to match up with what was reported. Like blaming unusual explosions on gas leaks. Hank ran a propane store for years. He knew what those incidents looked like better than anyone. Something fishy was going on in the world. Things were changing and not necessarily for the better.

So something in him told him to stay close to the man called Father. His gut told him he and his family were safest if they stuck by the man and stayed on his good side.

Hank just hoped he was right about that.
