( do we know what dictates talent as a cultivator? Could we ask him to gather some down-on-their-luck xeno who show the talent?)

Edit:( also, a way to de-psyker people is useful.)
Powerful psykers seem to be more talented, Shitaku for example would have been alpha plus psyker.

Presumably, he is already targeting psykers, probably untrained ones so ships wouldn't complain about their navigators not working, and considering this is the imperium, the vast majority of psykers are down on their luck.

And what do you mean by gather, bringing them here? I think he can't move people through the warp, or he would probably suggest to sell it to us, movie moving stuff would probably require bringing here ships, and considering chaos outright burned his worlds? That might be a level of escalation we don't want yet.

( moving stuff along the warp while actively figthing the changer is too much, yes.)
(And manuals?
I am asking for technical data to increase research rolls. Was that already an option? )

(Can we trick someone into accidentally cultivating? Get a thousand son at the right moment and you can gank a whole group. But if they learn how to cultivate... not worth the risk. )

( if he transports a single ship to us. A onetime thing. Could we send that out to make our own introductions? Is that something the voters are interested in? )

( do we know about the aeldari? If yes, i want to ask about his dealings with them. )

( blanks are a genetic phenomen, right? Could we later get some and experiment how their presence affects cultivation, formations, and tribulations? I just loved the idea of massed cloned blanks as a defenxe we had in that one quest. Obviously he cant get us blanks, but later, when we have a ship...)

Edit( necron tombs, tau worlds, if the tau are the new or old version, i dont think we know enough in character.)

( i kinda want to study a waagh field.im sure we could get some good stuff from that as inspiration. Like an active formations where 3 steps can equal a single 4 step.)

( i want to ask if the 40k dwarfs are still alive, but that would be ooc)

I think I came up with my first question

You mentioned the orthodox path, can you expand on it's powers and weaknesses? Is there anything from it applicable to cultivation? Can you show us examples of orthodox techniques?

(Was thinking about how the five basic psychic disciplines are actually pretty powerful, and wondering if we can get anything out of it.)
if he transports a single ship to us. A onetime thing. Could we send that out to make our own introductions? Is that something the voters are interested in?
Sounds unwise to me, introduction with people who can't help us is pointless now, if we meet, better do it after the apocalypse, so we don't tell them that we are basically going to be weakened when they arrived if they started traveling now.

Pretty sure it isn't generic anymore than psychic powers, aka, there is a connection, but just like you can't have Shitaku have a child and expect all or even most of them to be alpha plus psykers, presumably blanks are similar.

How their presence effect cultivation? They weaken us, but our stability makes us much more resistant than a psyker, the rest I don't know.

If you are looking at eugenics, another thing that might interest you, the children of third steps and up are getting bloodlines.

(Can we trick someone into accidentally cultivating? Get a thousand son at the right moment and you can gank a whole group. But if they learn how to cultivate... not worth the risk. )
Teaching someone to cultivate is a years long process, and it does require actual intent to begin with so you can't trick someone to cultivate.

Not unless you have him captured for a few years and even then, its unlikely.

( blanks are a genetic phenomen, right? Could we later get some and experiment how their presence affects cultivation, formations, and tribulations? They are not, you actually bought this knowledge from Okertaku but blanks are just being who soul is severed from their body?(IE not connected properly)

And when the warp attempts to correct this (as the soul is of the warp and it doesn't like beings disconnecting form it) it touches the soul and is absorbed and as the soul is infinite its just continues being absorbed a set rate and this is how they "calm" the local warp.

you alredy have afew blanks, you even healed one.
i want to ask about his dealings with them. )
"My dealings with them are minor, mostly I have a few connections with a small number of craft worlds and we trade favors every so often, they need divine power or insight and from time to time help in a battle and I utilize their expertise and their farseers to help my followers and interests".

How their presence effect cultivation? They weaken us, but our stability makes us much more resistant than a psyker, the rest I don't know.
If you tried cultivating in the presence of one you'll get very little out of it.

You mentioned the orthodox path, can you expand on it's powers and weaknesses? Is there anything from it applicable to cultivation? Can you show us examples of orthodox techniques?
"The orthodox path is powerful, even the least follower of it can rend whole armies asunder in short order, it requires very little training to achieve this power, many are the psykers who do not even realize they are utilizing their power"

"Its weaknesses lie in the dangers of its use and difficulty to control, even masters must be carful least a carless mistake will rend their soul, many newly awakened psykers end up killing themselves and any around them"

"There this noting worthwhile in it, Qi is too different from the raw warp Psykers wield, hmm.. no, there is one thing, choirs"

"The way to channel power and control together to achieve greater effects then one could alone"

He precedes to show a few examples of choirs casting, there isn't a lot you can utilize from their methods but some principles do carry over.

This will boost certain formation actions you can take.

( yes, bloodlines are interesting. The ship and blanks are thoughts for later. Having more than one way to get in contact is valuable. )
Are there plants with known effects on psykers he can get us samples of? We started farming herbs, and some variety could be useful.

Edit: ah sorry, with the aeldari its three, nevermind

(Seems like a pretty good question to me, adjusted it to include animals too, there a few cool magical creatures in Warhammer 40k).

I think limiting it to three questions per person would be enough to stop me from being swamped (I'm looking at you Pittauro).
who, me?

-Actual question
-(ooc)

Is there a way to get our hands on some tech from other civilisations? Nothing too advanced, just something to speed along our military-technology.

( i mean small things. A new way to aim a gun faster. A way to easier manufacture ammunition. A better armor design. Not getting laserrifles or baneblades. Or, better said: can we spend some favour to get a one-time military research boost?)
easiest way is just buying exotic (>+3 tech tier compared to us) advancements from him. just go as specific as needed. If it's not supposed to be TOO much more advanced, then it becomes a minor (+1 tech) or major (+2 tech) advancement instead.

Are there any races in the sector they think we could interact peacefully with?

(Did we teach him cultivation? Cant remember. If yes, i would be interest on its effects on psykers and nulls.)
we taught him cultivation, he spread it around to most polities in the galaxy somehow through cults, it will likely spread out with time and slowly get adopted.

psyker powers are incompatible with cultivation. If you cultivate, your psyker potential is basically converted into cultivation potential, and then you lose every psyker ability you had (though you might get something like a minor innate power/bloodline-like ability).

Nulls are sort of... not properly connected to their souls, and can't cultivate. Presumably they COULD cultivate if we made them "normal", but we have no idea how that would affect their potential and is mostly a waste of resources and time. My tentative idea with them would be to leave them a choice on their majority on if they want to be recruited (and then maybe offer the surgery once they retire), or not, but admittedly propaganda would push many of them to enlist anyway.

"Hmm… severel actually, from what I found your sector has seven races inhabiting it (aside from yours) and most of them don't possess any inherent characteristics which would bar peaceful interaction, admittedly a few of them are… rough around the ages but I posses a presence on the homewards of six of them and can make introductions for a small fee"

"Just don't expect them for the next century or two, as only two of the races in this sector have achieved space flight and only one has any kind of FTL and they are on the other side of the sector, even if I put my hand on the scales, it would take them several decades to get here at the least"

so 5 pre-space races (which could be anything from pre-history /tech tier 0 to early tech tier 8 (contemporary tech, more or less), one with limited space flight (so presumably earth/tech tier 8 equivalent), and one that's likely tech tier 10 or so.

Unironically if we wanted we could probably conquer them all in a few centuries and start our own space empire. Or we could try a more peaceful and diplomatic approach. It might be particularly recommended for the ftl race anyway.

ok, back to actual questions @uri

1) What is the relationship between a god and their domains? We once thought/realized that a god IS their domains in some ways, but there's probably more to it...

2) When will Kuvara be safe enough from the Chaos Gods? Is there an actual win condition for her, will they give up at some point or can she fortify enough to be able to hold long-term?

3) We saw how the Burning Plague was a special disease that violated physics and affect the soul too. What does the "change" we see in the soul of even healed people mean, and is there anything we can do about it? Should we be worried about new variants of this plague just appearing out of nowhere?

I suppose I'll go with those.

1) What is the relationship between a god and their domains? We once thought/realized that a god IS their domains in some ways, but there's probably more to it...
That sounds way too simple, I think it would be better to ask about something more out of our information, like where divine qi come into it, or how can one expand their domain to include more domains

Or see if asking about his stagnation could give us better insight into him.
When will Kuvara be safe enough from the Chaos Gods? Is there an actual win condition for her, will they give up at some point or can she fortify enough to be able to hold long-term?
That I think better ask out of character, you are asking about mechanics, just ask Uri directly if the current system is feasible, assuming Tzeench increased his attention and she got more experience.

A more useful question may be asking how can we make them back off, not if they just give up at some point.

We know what it is, the plague is eating them to reproduce, I think you should put heavier focus on countering plagues than about the current one, we know enough thanks to our insight.

Edit: ah sorry, with the aeldari its three, nevermind
I only counted two?

Are there plants with known effects on psykers he can get us samples of? We started farming herbs, and some variety could be useful.
"There are many plants with psychic effects -relatively speaking of course-, as well as creatures which the warp corrupts or can utilize it in biological ways, often they are used in the crafting of focuses to help with the difficult task of controlling the warp"

"normally transporting them throughout the warp would be a delicate affair if you wished for them to retain their effects, currently transporting anything into the sector is impossible without breaking the chaos gods blockade"

I'll wait a bit before answering Pittauro questions, let him decide if he want to change something"

We know what it is, the plague is eating them to reproduce, I think you should put heavier focus on countering plagues than about the current one, we know enough thanks to our insight.
even after they healed the soul still remained "changed". I want IC confirmation of potential side-effects, basically, among a better understanding of warp-diseases.

I'm fine enough with the questions as they are. I can't think of anything else I want to know, at least right now.

well, Maybe a question about how Feng Shui affects warp energies, as that seems to not technically be connected to our cultivation specifically...

well, Maybe a question about how Feng Shui affects warp energies, as that seems to not technically be connected to our cultivation specifically...
Here's what we'll do, I'll give you the mechanical answer for the below question and after that tell me if you want me to give you Okertaku answer (which may or may not be different) or pick another answer.

2) When will Kuvara be safe enough from the Chaos Gods? Is there an actual win condition for her, will they give up at some point or can she fortify enough to be able to hold long-term?
This very much depends on what you consider a win condition, it's the sad truth that the warp is the chaos gods domain (as in their territory rather than A D Domain) and most entities that survive in it and aren't aligned with it do it by staying out of sight and being too hard to be worth the effort.

And Kuvara is both in their bullseye and very much not too tough of a nut to crack (and even if she was, they are pissed enough not to care).

So, a "win" condition isn't really the cards, best you could do is keep her alive and occupying attention, one could say that keeping her alive is the win condition but she won't be safe (even relatively) until the chaos gods are on the back foot at least and likely not until they are dead.

Well, that or if something more important came up to pull their attention away.

1) What is the relationship between a god and their domains? We once thought/realized that a god IS their domains in some ways, but there's probably more to it...
"A god is the domain; the domain is the god"

"This is a good enough description of the basics to understand anything else you must know what domains actually are, the basics at least".

"To make a long story short, domains are the manifestations of an ideal concept, from basic things like fire and water and more complicated concepts like home and deceit"

"The warp, a place of thought, intent and concepts, is the easiest place for such forces to manifest in, there are an untold number of domains floating in the warp many claimed, many not"

"A god is the domain; the domain is the god but while every god is a domain not every domain is a god"

"Domains become gods in one of two ways, intent or subsumption"

"Intent has a few forms but the most relevant is faith, belief is powerful and it carries an impression of the one who posses it, and when enough impressions are absorbed into the domain, they grant it a small measure of agency"

"At this point the new god is more like a computer then a true being, as its so beholden to its nature it cannot act against it even if it means death"

"As more faith is gathered, the impressions are absorbed to improve the code (if were continuing the computer metaphor while the power in it is utilized to act as the domain dictates"

"Still very much a computer, if more advanced and able to fake it more"

The second way, is for a being to grasp a domain and be subsumed by it, this happens frequently most mortals can't comprehend a domain let alone bear the wight on their soul, a few manage mostly demons and deva who prepared for it but here and there a being of the real manages it by pure luck, not that its dos them much good, seeing as how they can't manifest it in the real"

"But I digress, the subsumed mind become slaved to the domain and allows it to think and act"

"it's important to note that even this is just a computer able to only comply with its directives"

"Both roads lead to the same point a being who only follows his code, this changes when a god claims his second domain"

"The code of both domains clash (for a lack of a better word) and in the place they clash freedom is afforded and it's here that a gods true personality begins to form"

"There is more too it of course but those are secrets I would not revel"

3) We saw how the Burning Plague was a special disease that violated physics and affect the soul too. What does the "change" we see in the soul of even healed people mean, and is there anything we can do about it? Should we be worried about new variants of this plague just appearing out of nowhere?
"The change you see is the soul gaining an affinity with a domains concept, it is a claim upon the soul it makes it easier to claim the soul and easier to imbued it with power if you wished"

"there's nothing much you can do about it, cutting away can be done but requires that the cut be made with an intent that overpowers the domain the affinity is drawn to, doable for a minor god less so for one of the four"

"I know of methods use to cleanse this taint but nothing specific"

"you should likely worry about random plagues appearing giving who were dealing with here but not from this, besides everyone has some affinity with the disease domain, this just strengthens it"

Do these other people's you've told me about have gods of their own?
Would you tell me about them and what you think of them?
What is your favorite art form that Kekukind have yet to explore?

poor Kuvara, basically born under a siege...

"Both roads lead to the same point a being who only follows his code, this changes when a god claims his second domain"

"The code of both domains clash (for a lack of a better word) and in the place they clash freedom is afforded and it's here that a gods true personality begins to form"

...wait, is he telling us KUVARA is basically just a computer without freedom right now?! She currently has only one domain after all!

well, Maybe a question about how Feng Shui affects warp energies, as that seems to not technically be connected to our cultivation specifically...
Probably because the warp is a reflection of reality.
wait, is he telling us KUVARA is basically just a computer without freedom right now?! She currently has only one domain after all!
Seems like it.

Let me use my second question for it.

How can a god gain more domains, we are interested in expanding kuvara's domain, are there similarly useful actions we can take to boost her? We know multiple gods having the same domain weaken it, how does that work, what happens if we have kuvara attempt claiming fate for example.

@uri how many gods are there in the galaxy?
A lot, most are minor and get killed when they reach a certain threshold but the galaxy is a big place and there are many who manage to survive.

Do these other people's you've told me about have gods of their own?
"They have religions of their own, if an actual god is at the head of them I have yet to see it"

Would you tell me about them and what you think of them?
"I wont talk about all of them but you should probably know of the Ranerions, they area a large mammal race, averaging three meters tall when they are full grown, they walk on two legs and possess six eyes around their head"

"They have four arms; their world gravity is twice the standard and this has resulted in them being a lot stronger and tougher to survive"

"They are a partial hive mind, communicating through telepathy, they answer to a queen but every individual dos posse some agency of their own"

"Avoid them if you can, they see anything that isn't of their hive -even other hives of their species- as an enemy to be exterminated"

"The least few hundred years of their history has been full of total war to claim their plant, they have yet to acquire weapons of mass destruction and they would likely use them extensively when they get them"

"I'm fine with them, they still posses a semblance of order and as a hive mind their hierarchy is self-reinforcing but they are an expansionist race and thier kinds never settle down and end up knoking other civilization out of balance, so I wont be sad to see them gone"

What is your favorite art form that Kekukind have yet to explore?
"I do not like art, it encourages creativity, creativity encourages change which is opposite to one of my domains."

That's more like two questions, one about claiming domains and one about what happens when to gods share a domain.

Want me to answer both of them or just one?

"Avoid them if you can, they see anything that isn't of their hive -even other hives of their species- as an enemy to be exterminated"
that's a bit of a problem.

...actually, will we get in trouble with the "no genocide rule" at some point? This IS 40k, many races are quite literally incompatible with any others.

"The least few hundred years of their history has been full of total war to claim their plant, they have yet to acquire weapons of mass destruction and they would likely use them extensively when they get them"
eh, they'll probably nuke themselves to the stone age, Krogan style or worse, given time.

"I'm fine with them, they still posses a semblance of order and as a hive mind their hierarchy is self-reinforcing but they are an expansionist race and thier kinds never settle down and end up knoking other civilization out of balance, so I wont be sad to see them gone"
So they satisfy order and hierarchy, they don't satisfy stagnation, but they also destroy the order and hierarchies of OTHER races so he's ambivalent towards them.

I suppose we're in a somewhat similar situation. We have order and hierarchy, and we get bonus points because we're explicitly enemies of the 4 chaos gods too. Of course we're still not perfect as we don't really go for stagnation... BUT in his mind that could very well change eventually.

Give us a few centuries or millennia to settle down, Ideally (and unrealistically, but there's always hope) AFTER contributing to bringing down the 4 chaos gods or at least reducing their influence... Cultivators are much more likely to result in stagnation and order/hierarchy than psykers too.

I suspect Okertatu actually kinda likes the Imperium of Mankind too. They are (or at least try) to be orderly and very hierarchical, and their ban on technology research makes them fairly stagnant. And of course the ANATHEMA is the most hated opponent of the chaos gods, so they likely get bonus points from that too.

I wonder if he ever tried to contact the Emperor. Probably too risky, and the Emperor might very well try to kill him anyway on sight...

"I do not like art, it encourages creativity, creativity encourages change which is opposite to one of my domains."
makes sense.

eh, they'll probably nuke themselves to the stone age, Krogan style or worse, given time.
I don't think so, one would get the weapons first, and probably use it to keep everyone else in the dirt before MAD rose.
BUT in his mind that could very well change eventually.
Not really, as long as we live, we are always going to push forward.

We are never going to stagnate if we can help it, what doesn't change die.

At most we will start to progress slowly because advancing grows harder with time.

Let's start with one, how may a god claim a domain.
"A god claims a domain in one of two ways, by force or by nature"

"Domains are manifestations of a concept, this mean they exist within the warp as actual locations and can be claimed by beating up all of the other claimants, of course killing a god or any being that possess a domain can allow you to claim at least a portion of it for yourself"

"Young gods, limited as they are in their actions rarely claim a domain this way and when they do its more luck and happenstance then anything deliberates on their part but the chaos gods have long hunted down nascent gods to claim their domains"

"The more common way is to claim a domain by nature, domains are connected and can overlap in their concepts with others and so as one acts within the limit of their domain, they also act to ideals of other domains"

"Do so long enough and they would claim a small portion of this domain and in time they would gather enough for it to actually be called a domain, faith can speed up this process"

"Kuvara for example is well on her way to claiming the Keku domain and getting some partial claim over the flight domain"

...actually, will we get in trouble with the "no genocide rule" at some point? This IS 40k, many races are quite literally incompatible with any others.
Well burn that bridge when we get to it.

I suspect Okertatu actually kinda likes the Imperium of Mankind too.
He would, if they stopped torching his followers.

The imperium is not his ideal civilization but its likely closer to anything that isn't fully aligned with him.

Currently I can think of three questions I want to ask.

About divine qi, about sharing a domain and about his own stagnation domain.

Before I ask, asking out of character, what does Shitaku knows about the later realms of cultivation, did Oketekru imply he knows more than us about where it would lead?

I am guessing we are aware about nascent soul, because as we progress you tend to reveal nuggets of the next realm, and and I always attributed it in character to us finding out more, but do we know the sixth step is getting a domain? Do we have vague idea of what domain that would be or if it is the same thing gods get?

You're generally aware of the path, as you get closer things become clearer.

You don't think Oketaku knows more then you about where cultivation leads but his insight into the current realms might be different then your own.

Then again it might also not be.

I think I will hold on asking about how divine qi relate to domains and stuff, for now I will ask.

What about sharing domains? How can it be done? How does it effect the god in question? Would a weaker god be able to grow stronger by barging on the domain of a stronger god, and can gods use it as a vector of attack to one sharing their domain?

"Claiming a domain by nature is a slow process and more then one god can do so at the same time and when this happens, they both claim different portions of it"

"This fact limits the use and power of the domain, depending on how large of a share each gods possess"

"For example, I am not the only go who claims the order domain, there is another go who can cast a claim to it, specifically he claims the order of life within the domain of order, this limits my ability to utilize the domain thorough the vector of life and limits the total power I can draw from the domain, although as it's a minor claim the limitation is very low."

"You can't claim a domain fully claimed by another without some sort of way to pry it out of their grasp and even if you could it offers no real link for attack not more then possessing any other kind of domain."

"But claiming a part of a domain utilized by an older god which invested in its development can allow one to grow faster"

oh, I have another couple questions actually. if I went beyond the 3 and you don't want to answer that's fine.

1) We Know that the Apocalypse will consist of portals opening up and demons falling out of them in unprecedented numbers. Is this something... common in the galaxy? and can he teach us better ways of closing such portals, or opening them if it ever becomes worth doing (like for example to have Kuvara's Daeva come to our planet to help, or to have our cultivators and/or armies help HER (well, not now, but high enough technology CAN probably make even mortals relevant in a warp fight)

2) Does he think there will be any dangerous or negative side-effects from the slowly rising of natural qi levels in our atmosphere?
