Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

Insight must have gotten quite a bit of XP, seeing how she participated in all the battles and was MVP for taking down Juggernaut.

Also, I wonder where Nepgear stands in the Top 20 rankings after this fiasco.

We know that OOC she was just barely in the Top 20 before this mission. The return of the Old Guard will shake up the Top 20 rankings a lot though, because some of them will probably get re-inserted into the list.

I wonder what will happen with White Soul, considering even if she's rescued from the UD, she's still kinda murder-crazy. I'm guessing there's some way of locking her up that she can't magic her way out of?

Lucky: "I'm new newbie mage damn it! My first two missions should not involve fighting the entire Old Guard!"
Gabriel: "My first mission involved fighting Goddess White and both of the Maidens of the Apocalypse. :)"
Lucky: :o "...fuck."
She's Death Squad. This is normal for them.

Well, except for the "surviving" part.
Insight is MVP for this alone. Seriously, she is a Legend Maker and survived on this battlefield.
A reminder that no matter how "weak" a being, spell or ability is, they can be incredibly useful/deadly in the right circumstances.

I was responding to the second half of that post, which was wondering where Nepgear is in the Top 20 now.
Ah, I see.

I'm wondering what kind of shitstorm will appear on ToHO when all of a sudden its long dead creator, Grey Champion, starts shitposting again :V
I now have this image in my head...

Grey Champion, Idol and superstar all among the Unified Light. Beloved by all she meets.
And her guilty pleasure is shitposting on the internet.

Before I start munching the update for commentary just something I thought I should point out from the Mission Select post. While we may have new missions available tomorrow looking at the current ones we have:
[] The Road to Elysium (Operation: Charon)
It was the greatest portal Humanity has ever made. A permanently open gateway to Hope, with a two-way highway twenty lanes wide. Thousands moved through it daily, both ways. Rush hour was a bitch, but we didn't care. It was a monument to our future, a symbol of what awaited us all... but now it lays dormant. That cannot stand. The Highway to Elysium needs to be reopened, but doing so presents a risk that we can't reasonably take without proper preparation. We need forces, a lot of forces... and we know exactly where to get them.
The Fairy-Elf Fortress at Milidia has been all that's held Earth's flank ever since Reluxus fell. Forty thousand Elves, Ten Thousand Fairies, and nearly an entire division of Human soldiers hold it against an endless tide of raving demons. But its true strength lies in the more than fifty Magical Girls that man its walls and turrets. It's a concentration of power that has held Hell itself at bay for half a decade now, but we need those Girls if we're going to retake Hope. But we can't leave Milidia undefended, otherwise the Fairy Home Realms will be overwhelmed. So we're going to insert a strike team to close the Hell Gates that feed the Unified Darkness reinforcements and rip their legs out from beneath them in one move. But it's not going to be easy.
Difficulty: Low. No foreseen problems cropping up.
Launch Date: Day 26
Known Allies: Crimson Hood, Flawless Paladin, Sumire Saber, Sakura Saber, Madama Morte
Confirmed Enemies: Hell's Seventh Legion
Possible Combatants: Army of the Apocalypse
Team GEAR + 5 Magical Girls vs. Three Billion Demons and Goddess Red (or at least her minions). Sure it's supposed to be stealth mission to take out the Hell Gates but Team GEAR doesn't do stealth. We're going to see some serious Starshine and Celestial Severance action here as we slaughter our way to the gates. Lucky is going to be gibbering in terror since from the sounds of it the Fortress at Milidia is where the Death Squadron normally get posted and we're going to be on the wrong side of it.

[] The Reluxus Super Gate (Operation: High Tide)
The Elves' Super Gates create a trans-dimensional super-highway that allows them to move resources and manpower across their kingdom at a rate that is nearly equal to Humanity. The problem is that there are very few of them, and they are nearly prohibitively expensive to build. Reluxus, before it's fall, had the only Super Gate the Elvin Empire had at the battle front. If they are to bring their full might to bear against the Darkness, this Gate must be retaken.
The Elves are unable to build a new Super Gate in time for the Offensive, even with the aid of Humanity. So if they are to help pull this insane plan off, the Reluxus Gate must be reopened. Otherwise, the Unified Light will drown underneath the sheer numbers their enemies can bring to bear in their place.
Difficulty: Extreme. Do you even have to ask?
Launch Date: Day 40
Known Allies: Variable. (Currently: Carnage, White Knight, Goddess White)
Known Enemies: Hell's Second Legion, Hell's Third Legion, Hell's Fourth Legion, The Fortress of Tears
Possible Combatants: ????
This is so far away it's not really worth discussing but still; Team GEAR + 2 MGs + Goddess White vs literally nine billion demons. There isn't even a "Destroy this to win" target. We've got to basically slaughter three entire Legions plus a Fortress if we want to win. Hopefully Lucky will be as nonchalant as the rest of Team GEAR by the time we face this insanity.

[] The Pale Light of The Moon (Operation: Artemis)
Can you hear the whispers? The voices of the beasts upon the wind? They whisper of hate, and a desire for the end. To be alone in the cosmos with the one they love.
Something is happening between Gaia and Shiva. And no one has a clue what it is. Their last clash would have ended in failure if it wasn't for Team RIOT's intervention, but they were almost killed regardless. The girls of any strength capable of standing amongst these gods are few and far between, but we need someone on the ground, with eyes and ears capable of telling us what's happening.
Difficulty: Low. Unlikely anything is going to go wrong.
Launch Date: Day 25
Known Allies: The Four Horse(wo)men
Confirmed Enemies: ????
Possible Combatants: Gaia's WEAPONs, Maidens of the Apocalypse
It's kinda saying something that going up against between two and five of the Top Ten Magical Girls is the least crazy of the missions on offer.

I took a look at her sheet, she doesn't have anything over level 5. she's likely going to be well on her way being the next shining key given just how over her head she was. I would legit be interested in seeing her sheet after she spends her exp.

Also might have to fight a Grand Archangel Gabriel who has been resurrected and controlled by Goddess Red. Now wouldn't that be a hell of a mindscrew for the new Gabriel?

That mission screams to me "this is where the Progenitor Frame is supposed to debut".

Well, I think we should spend half of the next day recuperating and preparing though... and then head out for Operation Artemis. We kind of have to if we want to get it, after all. Seeing that it is slated as low difficulty, our team should not end up particularly exhausted
Plus, I remember someone mentioning that it will unlock a questline.

Eh, ten more levels in Starshine will do the trick :V

don't let the number scare you. we have enough damage auras that the Chafe will die before doing anything, and starshine at its present level can kill something like a billion demons a cast.
