Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

The question then is if we're in a Pragmatists Reality or an Idealists Reality. *Looks at all the shit that's happened* Uhh... Not looking to good.

Honestly, I think the best ending will require a mix of the two.
Here's the tragic part:

It's a bit like many magical girl series, because things are bad, people skip trying the risky idealistic option, you're only left with the well intentioned evil, the true evil...and the naive, idealistic protagonist, who succeeds because nobody important tried it.

All it would have taken was taking the effort to try rather than increase the amount of dakka. And all we've seen? This world has tried getting more and more dakka in response, sacrificing idealistic routes.
...A thought occurs. Did we ever actually visit Sega's grave?

Well...about that..
"Got it!" And with that, she raised her blade. A slight spin above her head, and it erupts into light. Blinding in it's intensity you can feel the world almost tilt under it's weight. "Go to hell, you son of a bitch! V.I.C.T.O.R.Y.!" And as she brings the blade down, the light's intensity multiplies.

A wave of total oblivion washes out across the ground, and rock and stone vanish beneath it.

And to meet it, the Black Knight rises.

(V.I.C.T.O.R.Y.: 10,999,989 Base Damage, No Dice, +2,000 Legendary Power = 11,001,989 Total Damage
Intercept
Juggernaut Blade: 5,000 Base Damage, No Dice, +500 Unreal Strength = 5,500 Total Damage

10,996,489 Difference,
V.I.C.T.O.R.Y. Wins.

The Black Knight: 1,000 Base Resilience, No Dice, +2,500 Epic Existence = 3,500 Damage Reduction
Brutal Cartridge Breaks Through

The Black Knight: 15,000 - 10,996,489 = -10,981,489 Health Remaining)

And fails. The wave of light washes over the Black Knight and sweeps it, the mausoleum behind it, and at least half the cemetery, away in a single glorious moment. And as the light fades, and the dust settles, the Black Knight is gone. White Knight falls to the ground, exhausted.
Her grave has probably been disintegrated.

Exactly.

And imagine Nepgear's mood where because she chose to do the mission first, she can never visit her sister's grave again ever.

EDIT: Just realized Nepgear's never been to the grave before.

Yeeep.

Indeed, just look at the recent debate: it started over people not wanting to improve our allies when we can improve ourself.

Also, something to note: our Affinities are Purity and Faith. We know, OoC, that our strength and abilities are influenced through how people think of us and other. Being a good person, willing to go the extra mile to help others despite the risk and personal sacrifice is possible a path to greater strength. The Unified Light already has the ultimate beatstick, afterall.
*stares in numb horror*

I had thought I'd never again have to worry about... that.
Behold my revenge!

Holy crap, level 10 purifier beam got scary

Also, the thing Adamantium unlocked was INDESTRUCTABLE CORE, which apparently blends Containment and Armored into one superskill.

It definitely seems like Level 10 is a point where a power suddenly gets a major jump in effectiveness, we should make a point of getting our current core skills up to that point.

I have to say, Indestructible Core sounds pretty interesting. In addition, I remember seeing that the divinity exposure caused additional damage to Candy Heart, the Black Knight, AND, and this is the important one, actually caused damage to the control seal. Could we manage to destroy it with our current Purifier Beam?

So, GM, does the new affinity now mean that Divinity effects are now applied to anything we hit with the Purifier Beam?

Huh, we're actually capable of surviving against the average mook in the front lines.

Of course, we have problems in the forms that our exponential growth means that we won't match the Goddesses without being at least Level 25+ or so in a skill. Of course, the moment we match them, the next upgrade we completely curbstomp them, because exponential growth gets a little silly.

Combat in the high ends seems to be a binary thing in this game. Either you're good enough to win effortlessly, or you get snuffed out like the scrub that you are.

Nice.
If my math didn't fail me, we can negate anything below 450*75 (armoured core) +225 (base resilience) = 562.5 damage...
So a hell ground commander can be easily ignored and killed with 2 shots — we're finally on par with someone like Truth!

of all the shop options, I think the one I put at highest priority now is Severance: Echo, and then Indestructible Core.

Hmm. @crystalwatcher I think there is an error with your math for Armoed Core's bonus to Base Resilience.

So far it's followed the pattern:

[Rank] * 10 * [Level]

so Iron was:
1 * 10 * 4 = 40

Steel:
2 * 10 * 4 = 80

Mythril:
3 * 10 * 4 = 120

Therefore logically the upgrade from Mythril to Adamantium should have brought it to:
4 * 10 * 4 = 160

But instead it goes to 180 which would be:
4.5 * 10 * 4 = 180

To make matters worse when you up the Level 5 five it only goes to 225 which is a +40 jump, in line with expectations, not a +45 one like the formula shows it should be.

Either there is an extra bonus for Adamantium which pushes the formula to 4.5 * 10 * 4 rather then the expected 4 * 10 * 4 in which case the rank up increase should bring us to BR 230. Or you made an error with the upgrade to Adamantium calculation in which case it should be 165 which the level up bonus should increase to 205.
