Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

question about white soul, if we catch both her bodies in a blast radius can she still dodge it by erasing one?
Nope. Unless one's on the edge and can create a copy outside of it anyway.

Of course, she knows that, so I'm expecting hit-and-run tactics.

Also, did anyone else notice Gray's "Riot" likely applies to her "Blast" as well? Meaning the second time she casts it, it's going to deal anywhere from 37,500 to 25,855,500 Base Damage, depending on how Spell Boost applies to it.

Then you consider it has Omni-Magic, meaning it hits 5 times per casting....

The first Blast is going to deal up to 113,500 damage. The second Blast could deal up to 129,328,500 in damage.

huh, a basic damage spell with that kind of boost can do more than an order of magnitude more than Re's oblivion awaits spell. So is there a reason gray didn't just keep casting that spell on solar until she rolled well on the magic modifier and then had solar blow up the planet?

I think I remember someone saying that oblivion awaits at full strength is a world killer, and grey can very easily produce buff someone way past that level of fire power if they are even slightly dangerous. I mean it's not like the demons would flinch at killing humanity.

Continent eraser. And the buff has to wear-off before it can be reapplied.

And why would she have had Solar blow up the planet? :o:confused:

because right now she's working for the unified dark due to mind control, and they would very much like if a few of the more inhabited continents of earth suddenly stopped existing. have gray cast the buff on the MG's with strong offensive spells one at a time, and eventually she would get a high roll and then north America becomes a crater.

Cause it kill all the good guys on earth?

And them! And Goddess Gold!

Also, bit a misunderstanding. Technically speaking, they're working for Goddess Red, not the Unified Darkness. If Ni switched sides right at this moment, they'd follow her.

Plus, you know, not suicidal.

they don't really have free will right now, they are as suicidal as Ni wants to order them to be, and Ni threw in with the unified darkness. She may not want to kill goddess gold, but Rei's defensive abilities are bullshit enough that she would have about a 75% of surviving being caught in the edge of the blast. I'd argue from Ni's perspective that would be an overall net increase in gold's chances of surviving to the end of the war, since counterforce would likely not be able to keep going in a meaningful way after North America suddenly exploded.

No they're not. Remember Sega?

Ni has no direct control over them at all. None, zilch. In fact, they can even oppose her and her decisions. If she ordered them to rather blatantly sacrifice them, unless they're the kind of person to do so, they're liable to disobey.

so Ni can make them turn on their own species and comrades, but can't make them sacrifice themselves?
She does it by warping their perception on how the world is/the decision making process in the easiest way to convert them.

For Sega, that was by making her think that the UD is more likely to win, and that joining up will ensure Nepgear has a better life. But Sega would settle for running away and living with Negpear is seclusion.

For Ichi, that was by flipping her perspective from "UD = Bad, UL = Good" to "UD = Good, UL = Bad". But that doesn't stop her from disagreeing with the nobility, or manipulate those who rape and murder civilians into bad situations. Or act honourably and justly to enemies and civilians for that matter.

A pacifist that was resurrect would be a pacifist with the mental effects, just one that's on her side.

The mind control Ni uses on those she resurrects only fucks with how they perceive the world in order to align them with her goals. It's not out-and-out puppeteering.

From Sega's point of view when she was under the effects of the Control Seal, she believed that the Unified Darkness were the good guys, and that Nepgear was just a bit misguided and/or being controlled against her will. So, being Sega and an over-protective big sister, jumped through the closest portal to run her down and drag her 'back'. Similar stuff is currently happening with the available girls.

They've all had their point of view twisted to see following Red as their desired path. For most, this is rather straight forward by simply switching who they see has the good guys and bad guys, but for others it leaves huge holes that can lead to them Blue/Orange-ing themselves out from under her control.

Like Sega.

Or the mind-fucked mess that White Soul is.

I'll probably be going into White Soul's motivations during her fight.

Oblivion Awaits can cause destruction on continental scale. As in, it can turn North America into a flatland.

And while it's true that Grey Champion could boost certain people to the point of being able to pop a planet, they still have enough free will to decide to do it or say "Hell NO."

And true, while the Demons in command wouldn't flinch at killing an entire species off, Grey Champion still has enough of a "Hero" mentality to balk at it.

The nature of Goddess Red's mind control and how it interacts with people that share Grey Champion and Goddess Grey's mentalities will actually be a significant plot point some time after you guys rescue Ichi.

So I just realized something that makes me sad. Sega doesn't have any weapons or spells that are at least level 17 (she has a few at level 15 though), which means that we can't impale Aerith on a katana

no. the damn thing is useless. even if we leveled it up and learned how to control it our spells would be better in just about every conceivable situation.
Reminder that all of our attacks are cast with the Purifier Beam as a focus.
Narratively speaking, even though its highly suboptimal, I kinda want to see a result of "Red Rose gets injured in the fight with Gray Champion (possibly + Juggernaut Drive), and then Nepgear debuts Progenitor Frame against White Soul".
P-Frame here is just unnecessary overkill.

Interesting. So they may be "loyal" to the UD but a lot of them still have fairly strong morals aside from that, and some of them are world-shakingly strong. Combine that with the UD's belief that the strong should rule and Hell might well be swallowing a poison pill by recruiting them. I could totally see some of the stronger one's blasting their way into positions of power and enacting reforms at gunpoint.

so, like, hypothetically if someone asked her to sneak into hell with them so they could crater the place from a hundred miles up she'd have a similar reaction? Asking for a friend because we would totally never commit genocide. unless they were demons.

Also reminder that we basically powered it up until we can't really use it anymore...
I'm aware, but people are discussing leveling Nepgears spells to bypass Scream For Me, while overlooking a potentially fatal error.
Consider the following:
  • Sunder, which breaks an enemy weapon and renders it non-functional, also prevents the casting of any spells that are cast through that weapon.
  • All of our spells are cast through the Purifier Beam.
  • Scream For Me renders all weapons and spells of level 16 or lower non functional.
  • Purifier Beam is level 15.

Out of interest, are we expected to try and save White Soul? Since she's, you know, crazy and evil even without the Control Seal?
