Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

A. Just flat out, A is better.
B just looks weird and awkward, even more so than usual from Claymore art.

Which bit are you actually upset about?
I'm tired and throwing a bit of a fit at the bullshit.
Heh. Think that's bad? Have the other:

*Raises middle finger* ...Fuck it, let's get another big sister or two? I have no idea, it'd be awesome if it'd work, but the world hates Nepgear, sooo... Yeah.
Yay! Best Girl is her- Wait. She's not on our side. Fuck.
Yeah, kind of my reaction two. Only I just went straight to the "Fuck".
And who is this Best Girl, for those who've never seen her before?
Servent Shielder of Fate/Grand Order.

TIMED GEAR
"We don't have time for this. Leave it alone, so long as it's not going after civilians, then it's unimportant. We have bigger problems to worry about!" The fact it had taken a large chunk out of the building notwithstanding. As it was, you had enough run ins with things out of your weight class, that you didn't want to try your luck trying to take down the scorpion. So long as it was semi-helping, you might as well use it. Right? "Lets go. We need to find out what the hell is happening here, and either put a stop to it... or save it."

Team GEAR nods, and Truth smiles at you, impressed. You grin back in return, and the five of you dash for the remains of the barricade. What you find once you pass is not what you were expecting.

You almost vomit on the spot the instant you lay your eyes on the first one. It is obvious the... thing, was once a rodent. But some power you didn't know had warped it beyond recognition. Ten of the dog-sized abominations were rushing the massive scorpion in pairs, their claws scraping off it's armor and teeth failing to penetrate. And as you watched, the massive Gaian beast retaliated.

It snatches one of the rats up in it's massive pincer and squeezes. A wet popping sound reaches your ears and black blood fountains to the ground. It opens the pincer, and the mangled remains drop to the ground unmoving, little more than mush.

It attacks again and again, and each time the pincers snap shut, another rat dies. From ten to seven, the pack seem to realize they might have bitten off more than they can chew. But it's too late, the Scorpion spins in place, sweeping it's tail out and around in a wide arc at the remaining rats, and you watch the serrated stinger do it's work.

The rats are little more than smears across the walls. Blood and gore is everywhere as the beast turns again and slams its way through another wall, and downward at an angle. You do not know it's destination... but you know yours. "Come on. The facility's research was on the third floor right? Lets find out what is going on, then we can work on getting out of here."

Truth takes point, and the trip to the stairs up is short and uneventful. Halfway up the first flight though is where it gets interesting.

A rat bursts through the wall of the stair well, almost tackling Samael, but misses horribly. It slams 'head' first into the adjacent wall and is stunned. The soldier brings his gun around to put the beast down, but the two other rats that rush through the hole and tackle him interrupt that.

His arm moves in a blur and imposes itself in front of the first Rat's mouth: the armor taking the bite without strain. He knees the second one mid-air in the face, stunning it. Then he retaliates.

He points his gun with a single arm, and pulls the trigger. The rat hanging from his arm dies instantly. Then he rears back a leg and slams it into the second rat, sending it back through the hole it came out of. The wet snap tells you the likely hood of it's survival was nil. But when he turns back to the third rat, it's already dead from Michael stabbing it with his new sword.

"What? Waste of bullets."

With a shrug Samael adjusts his grip on his gun and you all continue up the stairs. No more rats jump you as you make your way to the third floor. But again, it's when you get to the third floor when things get interesting. Or, more specifically, when you meet someone interesting.

Magical Girl Maiden of the East. The younger of the two Maidens of the Apocalypse and Number Eight Strongest Magical Girl. You didn't know much about her, but you knew that simply by holding her position as #8, she was not someone to underestimate. Her silver eyes turn towards your group as you all pile out of the stairwell.

"Huh? Who are you?" Dead rats are scattered randomly across the ground, many chopped to pieces. The blood drenched blade in her hand gives you no doubts as to who was responsible. "I don't think you're supposed to be here."

"Not sure if you should be here either kid." is Truth's response. You glance at her from the corner of your eye, unsure if it was wise to provoke a much stronger Magical Girl. "We're here to find out what's going on in this place. What are you doing here?"

The Maiden of the East tilts her head in slight confusion. "I'm here with Big Sis West, and Auntie White. We're supposed to be picking up something dangerous." Well, not like that was very comforting. Truth had told you that the Maidens were supposed to be agents of Shiva, some Divine Entity you didn't know much about. The fact both of them, and Goddess White were apparently here?

"That's enough East. What we're looking for isn't up here."

The voice is powerful, and draws Team GEAR's attention. The first person you see is taller, and obviously older than East. With black-grey armor with purple highlights you know exactly who she is.

Magical Girl Maiden of the West. You knew just about as much of her, as her little 'sister'. If they were biologically related at all. But her presence is easily overwhelmed by the one coming up beside her...

San Mitsubishi. Goddess White. Third Strongest Magical Girl, and the last of the four Goddesses, she was the Goddess of the Primordial. Time bent in her presence, and the world stood still when she moved. Easiest of the Goddesses to harm, she was considered the hardest to kill. For nothing could stand against the march of time.

"The scientists must have moved the target to the basement." Well, wasn't that helpful to know. Considering that a giant scorpion was now running around down stairs. "Who are your new friends?" The sudden inclusion of your little team into whatever was happening almost knocked you off kilter. The fact that East had literally hopped over to Goddess White didn't help your mental balance any.

"They came out of the stairs! I didn't know if they were supposed to be here or not, so I challenged them like Big Sis says I should, and they responded with a challenge for why I'm here! I'm not sure if I'm supposed to tell them though... You said it was supposed to be a secret!" East's child-like exuberance would be amusing. If not for the fact you were sure she could kill you and your entire team. "So I'll leave it to you!"

San smiles at East, before raising her hand and patting the top of her head. "Good girl. Thank you for leaving it for me to take care of. You go with West and head down to the ground floor, would you? She'll help you find what we're looking for."

"Alright!" With a big smile, the smaller girl dashes around White to her sister. The far more stoic girl slowly blinks before glancing at your group, then turns and leads East to a window that they both exit through. White turns back to you.

"Since I want to get out of this without a fight, I'll tell you what we're here for: This building was being used by the Akashic Pillar for Super Soldier research. Thing is... the method thought up by this think tank here is more than a little dangerous. So, we're here to confiscate it and put it somewhere... else. If you want to help keep it out of the wrong hands, you can follow me to the basement. East and West will probably have already taken care of most of the monsters along the way. Up to you."

... You had no idea what to say to that. White turns away from your group and exits out the same window the Maidens did, leaving Team GEAR in the room full of dead mutant rats. Truth frowns and looks at you.

"I don't trust her. Something feels off about this whole thing. Like the rats. I want an explanation for those!"

"Yeah... but I really don't want to fight her." Your response brings her up short. She blinks at you and frowns, but you continue, "Every time I've left the base, someone has gotten hurt or killed... So... I don't want to challenge her unless we absolutely have to. I don't want to lose any of you." And wasn't that the truth. Pun intended.

"... Still don't like it." Now she was glaring at the window the trio had left through. Team GEAR remains silent, waiting for your decision.

What to do...

[]Trust Goddess White. Something's off about this whole thing, but you don't want to fight her if you can help it. You need more information.
[]Follow Truth. She has a point. And dangerous or not, it's probably the better option between the two.

Hmmm... is this from the same thing that talks about Prog Golems?

Time to see what crazy research is going on. I mean maybe we can talk to her about maybe visiting her sister some time too?

[X] Purchase Nothing

I would prefer to handle this without violence. Hopefully. Let's face it, our track record is horrible enough as it is without going out of our way to pick fights.

Also we've met all four Goddesses and Gaia! Do we get like an achievement or something?

Hmm I guess maybe SURVIVING meeting all four perhaps would be a better one.
