[X][MAIN] Plant Sacred Forests
[X][SEC] Waterways
[X] [SEC] Settle Land = GreenBay

we have so many damn open spots for our civilization to settle, at least 60 empty spots where we havent spread out, while in our lands that we have settled 43 extra spots remain...which could be more damn helpful in the long run to finish them up.

Not sure on this but @Oshha, dont we get a extra secondary action if we fill up a settle land option (15/15)? just curious...

Changed my mind:

[X][MAIN] Train Sacred Warriors
[X][SEC] Waterways
[X][SEC] Diplomatic Expedition = (Caradysh)

One of the reasons to train Sacred Warriors is the constant drain from the Province Exploration. But that can be fixed by changing the Province policy. Warrior quest can wait.

[X] [SEC] Switch Province Policy = (Megaproject)
[X][SEC] Waterways
[X][SEC] Diplomatic Expedition = (Caradysh)
[X] [SEC] Build Wall = (Eastern Rock River)

Have the provinces update the Census system, grab some Megaprojects during the upcoming Golden Age Mid-turn(or don't and enjoy a free respec to something like Economy or Trade once we run out of Megaprojects) and make sure both Rock River settlements are fortified in case the Caradysh turn out to be hostile when we do diplomacy.

The elders are at faction level 2/3. Angering the elders is not a big issue, and is far, far less of an issue than bloating our empire even further would be. Like, you've heard me arguing that we should keep the factions happy but I sure as hell am not extreme on that issue; I do not believe we should cripple our empire for all time just to finish a single quest from a relatively weak faction in exchange for a Secondary action's worth of reward.
Haven't we been sitting at 4+ Legitimacy since Blodwyn went to war against the Caradysh some 300 odd years ago?
The Elders wanting us to found another colony(and improve the Arthrynite action economy) while we're sitting at 5+ Legitimacy(and therefore have 2 open subordinate slots) might be unreasonable, but it's not exactly crippling(and one could argue that not founding a new colony is hobbling the development of Arthryn's people more than our needing to maintain higher Legitimacy if we do).

We need new challenges, not making our problem bigger. As it stand, we're expanding a lot without backfilling in our infrastructure.

Colony infrastructure is not done via our actions. Colonies have their own actions and build their own infrastructure.

I am missing the part where your statement connects with mine. Could you elaborate?

Subordinates and more territories are just more shit to manage.
That seems like an empty argument when we aren't even bothering to manage our non-Arthrynite subordinates due to the double Empire passive smoothing over most discontent.
And we explicitly have greater loyalty, better diplomacy and reduced discontent from Arthrynites as a result of the Code of Law and Grand Temple.
Aside from taking up one of our two subordinate slots, a new colony would run itself.

Yes, we will need to defend them if they get attacked, but on the flipside, Arthrynite values mean they would be sending troops to support other Arthrynites if other Arthrynites were attacked. and it means another Arthrynite faction taking Arthrynite actions. More trade expeditions, more Infrastructure, more opportunities to roll for Divine Intervention etc.
How many Magic or Metal-based innovations came from the Merntir and Maradysh for example? And how many foreign innovations came through Caermyr-based trading expeditions?

soo Longships are nuts. I didn't expect us to get Longships, but uh, that's a strong Golden Age bonus holy heck. Proper Longships are basically good through to Medieval hot damn. Like, there are minor bits and bobs to upgrade to that chassis but it's a conceptual chassis that's going to last hooooot dam.

[X] [MAIN] Train Sacred Warriors
[X] [SEC] Waterways
[X] [SEC] Settle Land = GreenBay

Gonna hold off on the boats so author can research a bit on the tech progression of longships from their first use to the medieval age. Having rows vs paddles. Square rigging. Sizes. Nails. Rivets. Lots of stuff, and by narrowing our "tech tree" down to being "Longship" the need for author to research is much smaller than before.

I support the Settle Greenbay secondary. Finishing off that (12/15) should be some sort of bonus for having such a densely settled region. Building tall and letting our wealth spill out to the surrounding areas.

I don't want to do a diplo outreach to the evil blood sacrifice skeleton slaver monster. Would rather fortify against it, or burn those cursed forests to the ground and re-seed the area with Sacred Forests. Would much prefer talking to Forluc about the creature, and see what the situation is like without poking it.

For the record, the naval tech isn't going to be that detailed if only because it is not something I am well-versed in or good at researching so it will be pretty basic overall. At least with the more historical naval stuff, the modern it gets, the easier it is to research.

Can I interest you in changing our Passive Policies to expand our forestry practices more?

if this plan could win I'd actually vote for it. Making holy forests all over the damn place is really cool lmao

It has been a while since we upsized our army and I have wanted to check on Urth since he watched Arthwyn accidentally deify a few prestigious lowlanders via body slamming a dragon.

Edit: Arthwyn and the All Boar, don't want to forget the All Boar

Approval voting. Not Plan voting.
There is no spoiler effect if you also vote for other stuff. It just causes the top individual actions to get picked until all action slots are filled(with us having 4 action slots and MAIN actions taking 2 action slots each).

If for example, the top 'plan' had SEC Diplo Caradysh but the final tally ended up looking something like:
1st: SEC Waterways
2nd: MAIN Sacred Warriors
3rd: MAIN Sacred Forest
4th: SEC East Rock River Wall
5th: SEC Diplo Caradysh
6th: SEC Sacred Forest

We'd end up with SEC Waterways + MAIN Sacred Warriors + SEC East Rock River Wall.

yeah but if we're gonna go mega forests I wanna go whole hog on it. so many forests. Mostly to obstruct cavalry and organized projectile volleys, lots of mystic.
~~

Mostly want to do Main Sacred Warriors twice for +2 martial permanently, and then go hard on settling and temples for Greenbay so we can hit the next breakpoints of both.

Longer term looking to hit the breakpoint on Messengers. It's okay that we're centralized but we will need to have dedicated runners if we want to keep up Admin demand as we sprawl. We are going to end up with so much coastline that some sort of Thallasocracy isn't out of the question. Dedicated Messenger boats along the riverine and coastal settlements would greatly increase the connections we have to our outlying settlements. But, first, we gotta get our martial up for a free Wall (of indeterminate size). Walls are cool, and are better when they're free!

Temples cost temp Culture, and we have a rather small pool for that. Your best bet would be additional Infrastructure passives, since those don't consume resources.
And a Priest-led Infrastructure Passive can prioritize Sacred Forests(and actually did between Caretakers of Nature->Zaranna Rising) so they might opt to swing the Infrastructure passives into sudden forest work once the Temples are done(or they might opt to just mass Wall).

Not a bad idea. It's a way to attack our Legitimacy* that doesn't hurt our civilisation in some way, like for example a militia system.
*Could instead hurt our Stability, but that can be recovered with secondary actions, while there's no recovery from the pitfalls of a militia.

Building tall and letting our wealth spill out to the surrounding areas.
In Paths of Civilisation, we had two options: protect a religious minority from persecution, or don't.* Some people said that not protecting minorities from persecution would make our civilisation more religiously tolerant. That was a very dumb argument for obvious reasons, but the argument won the vote, and the result, as everyone should've expected, was our civilisation becoming more religiously intolerant. (The GM later said that protecting the minorities would've given us religious tolerance, also as people should've expected.)
*There was the third option of persecuting the minorities but that was never really a contender.

This argument about "wealth spilling out" is the exact same kind of argument, the sort that says if you do one thing, the opposite of its obvious result will happen. In actuality, if you concentrate wealth in the centre, wealth is concentrated in the centre. It does not "spill out." If you want to spread wealth across the empire, you have to actually go out and spread that wealth across the empire. You cannot get out of putting in the work of building infrastructure (or settlements I suppose) across the empire.
