I thought those dams were specifically for power and hydrological stabilization, rather than removing water from the river for agriculture as the OTL projects were.Hm? Hydrological stabilization is about getting the water to the people who use it. Obviously, if the water is used elsewhere, it doesn't flow into the sea.I thought those dams were specifically for power and hydrological stabilization, rather than removing water from the river for agriculture as the OTL projects were.
My main problem with this is that we risk them both not finishing and then being left with less resources if we just commited to finish one and if we are lucky enough to roll well it just means that we likely can finish multiple stages of one which is also a fine outcomeI'm really not a fan of Plan We Still Have an Agriculture Target to Meet because it doesn't go for the Caspian Sea oil extraction. That's kinda crucial for making sure we have enough money to activate our dice next turn.
It's not a "good idea", it's practically required. CMEA is already past the 40 threshold, and from the passive gain, we'll be at 38 before crisis movements. And considering crisis is at -2 right now, if we start recovering and people start buying fuel, we might very well end up past 40 ourselves. Honestly, I am not the biggest fan of doing only one oil field this turn, but that's what's necessary if you want Consumer Grants, I guess.Honestly, while I think doing at least one oil project is a good ideia, if we could knock otf two stages of consumer goods initiatives that would be ideal. It gives us a looot of general labor, and though it probably doesn't give us the same amount of direct revenue as an extra oil field, it should give us a hefty profit. Not to mention the increased consumptive behavior from all the newly employed people. Might try to do a plan that aims for that later.
You significantly sped up the destruction of the Aral, while you are not directly tapping it for cotton irrigation as per OTL, you've basically mostly cut out two major sources of replenishment in favor of making the river valleys agriculturally viable and with a plentiful supply of water and are doing damage at a greater rate. Water stabilization measures are for your farmers, not for the sea, not remotely for the sea. Any of the hydrological projects were fairly explicit and focused on making the water "useful" rather then enabling the "mistake of nature."Secondly: Oh jeez. After we seemingly averted the destruction of the Aral Sea I figured we were better at water than the OTL USSR, but it seems not enough for our agriculture to stop ruining the Caspian and Volga. I did a little further looking and the problem persists to the present day OTL. TTL, our larger population and economy will probably make it worse.
The agri SoEs and their friends in the SupSov got incredibly pissy at us.I was satisfied that we had no critfails despite the 1 to 4 range... than I saw that one lone natural 1 sitting at the end in its own row >_<
....Farmer Flexibility right? We just had a very horrible backlash against our attempts to help them the moment someone read "deregulation" I'll bet. Second critfail on a reform dice we've had all game I think?
EDIT: If I'm counting the rolls right we just failed to get the oil field within omake range. Brace yourselves, gas prices are coming! We absolutely must push both the oil fields next turn.
EDIT2: wait was the winning plan really one that didn't make any dice on the power grid? Probably best we work on that soon...
We will get a choice of Abramov toady I think. Though that's speculation on my partI don't think so. The favor we owed was called for them being able to choose who the deputy will be, at least that's how I understand how things are going to happen.
