The British could possibly hold some parts of India through the Princely States but on the whole, no. They do not have the resources and manpower to garrison a whole subcontinent, which has also be built up industrially during the war and has a cadre of trained troops to create guerrillas. Even if you go full on Carthage on the rebels more will be created especially if they have outside support. See IOTL Japanese/Chinese War, Afghanistan, Vietnam.

Probably, the WAllies occupied them after their surrender. There was never a coup like in OTL as far as I know, so the bald man could still be in charge, maybe he'll get a trial. They're the most intact axis power, no fighting took place in the peninsula I think, maybe a little bombing, but the German industry was the main target for that. They'll get off relatively lightly too I think, the Allies won't want to rock the boat too much since they didn't get Western Germany or Austra as buffers.
