Attempting to Fulfill the Plan MNKh Edition

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
A stronger commitment in Spanish Civil War might also mean that it doesn't end before WW2 starts, which might lead to an interesting situation?

An interesting thought is what if some of our equipment gets captured. What would the Nazis do with some of our stuff and a couple of years to reverse-engineer for example?
Or the French or the Brits?

how might that change things going down the line?

Also from discord:
Blackstar:
Hmm, then probably will do something like it will be thrown to one dice in the turn/will roll a d-whatever

To assign it

Or well, however many bonuses are used will be full random rolled
Writings may be redeemable for random bonuses to various die.
Spool up them omake printers, folks! I've personally got my eyes on writing a US quest negaverse if we trade with them/FRA if we don't.

In OTL, the planes that the Russians sent, mostly the I-15 and the I-16, were already probably the fastest planes in Europe. The Russian T-26 tank was better armoured and armed than the German and Italian tanks and the Russian anti-tank guns had better penetration as well. It was obviously these differences in OTL that prompted German advancements. Basically, I doubt that there would be much difference.

We might send some of the new weapons but the majority should be older surplus weapons we have. If for some reason the newer weapons are capture we will already be working on updates.

Infrastructure is steadily made inhospitable for coal-fired trains, something that should be useful once the inevitable GPW comes; On heavy and light industry dice are mostly spread-out in hope for easier time completing (some of) these projects come summer. Just enough dice for possibly finishing all the agriculture projects (Overfishing is not a concern yet, I hope?) - we should be able to follow up next turn, either starting on stage 5 or finishing up stage 4. Libraries are in there both for political influence (making up the loss from trade deal) and to provide a viable way for people to self-educate (hopefully ameliorating shortage of educated personnel a bit).

I feel like waiting on electric heating until we finish the current level of Zlatoust might be a good idea, given that the former specifically states it needs tungsten and the latter calls out tungsten as something it increases production of.

Also maybe we can finally get Norilsk done? We seem to just be perpetually delaying it and we kind of need the nickel if we want to keep building up Gorky or otherwise improve our industrial machinery.

We haven't seen any mentions of tungsten shortages for now, so we should be fine on that front. I do want to get Zlatoust out before the 5YP ends though.

Norilsk is a next turn's summer project, probably alongside finishing up Gorky.

Not this turn. This turn is winter, Norilsk is beyond the polar circle, in Siberia...
It's going to be too cold.

I'm iffy even on regional interlinked grids, as winter in european Russia is still very cold, if not memetic Siberia-cold, and rail stock buildup shouldn't involve as much construction in relative wilderness.

Yeah, I'm fairly sure we're all expecting casualties for the Western Region grid. But next turn's summer is when we need to actually start working on roads, and Blackstar's been hinting that both are things we want to get out sooner rather than later.

You mean bitumen roads?
That one we can do a first stage right now, though, as first stage is cities and their thereabouts - while quality wouldn't be stellar, at least workers would be close enough to be rushed to hospitals if they're frostbitten.

Blackstar is going to be modeling the ah... issues with trying to make paved roads in the cold winter.

Not so much a people killer as a waste of resources.

And it's not just Stage 1 we want to do. We want the higher stages as well for better transportation between areas that don't have rails.

Well, then we can earmark all the free dice for infrastructure next turn, no?
Military shouldn't eat all the dice until the end of this FYP, agriculture should be done with it's normal dice next turn with acceptable results, heavy & light industries don't have anything really urgent, and services at this point don't have anything we have to rush.

Next turn I want to, no joke, spend 12 dice on roads. It's gonna be great.

But you don't want to try and pave roads in the winter, asphalt doesn't take well to being poured on frozen ground.

OOC: Anyway we could entice Communist members with technical skills from outside the USSR to come help build up the country.

You know what we need to do next turn? Norilsk.

No more delaying that sweet, cheap (for HI) and fast project for more resources. With 5 dice on it we would have a great chance of knocking it out in one turn and producing.

4 dice should cover it well enough. If it somehow isn't complete, then one more dice next turn would cover the difference, most likely, and difference in 1 production/turn wouldn't be that big.

Yeah we've been saying "oh we'll do Norilsk next summer" for 2.5 years now, we have to actually do it next summer. But it doesn't compete for dice with the road program, so we can have both.

Moratorium's over I think? So...

Resources Used: 670

Get Agriculture overkill in both the VCCs and NSTs, get the western power grid up, and have Heavy Industry get both power generation (for MFPG and because we're down to minor local surpluses) and make progress on Gorky, with the hope that we can finish it up next turn.

Meanwhile for military, SMGs won't be of much use in Spanish Civil War (semi-automatics for our volunteer forces should be plenty), and we're largely ahead on plants with the exception of the Truck one.

Instead, focus on machine guns, arty, and aircraft. Perm is coming up to help with that, with me hoping that we can really screw over the German and Italian air contingents sent to the Spanish Civil War.

Next turn I'm hoping for Bitumen Road Spam, doing the Leningrad Locomotive Plant, standard Officer Academy dedication, and finishing up Gorky alongside doing Norilsk.

Instead of chipping away at Gorky, it tries to finish the Aluminium plant to get more resources quickly and prepare for aerospace expansion. Also does all the trials.

[X] Plan Random

I should make a note that I just woke up but Plan Random is essentially using my Protoplan in Discord and the main reason it is as it is is because the main aim is to finish Gorky in nearly one go, netting us a great shot of Resource in the arm and catapult us screaming towards development of other sources of Iron — and thus Steel other than Magnitogorsk — as well deal with every other pressing issues in the meantime while making Sergo proud at us by making a lot of schools.

It's an unorthodox plan, sure, but it is very different than the other plan in contention.
