[X] Plan Number Must Go Up

Like Rats fleeing from a sinking ship. Make sure they know there is no escape, either they fight and possibly die on this hill with us, or they die the traitors death.

[X] Plan Statistically Speaking, We're In Trouble

We do need to modernize the grid, yes it doesn't directly produce power for the P part of MFPG, but the better transmission efficiency will let us run more factories that produce the M part of MFPG and capital goods without having to waste HI dice on power plants, it's getting more electricity with Infra dice instead of HI dice so the HI dice can do other things. The 2 extra dice from Transfer Personnel are also critical, I thought they weren't at first glance too but they're an additional ~700 points of progress over the remainder of the Plan which we will desperately need. If we use them in the sector(s) Gorky boosts they're even more effective, we really need the dice if we want to try and hit both MFPG and capital goods.

Comrade, do you mind editing your plan? Apparently we need to purge the Bureaucrats if we don't want problems.

Yeah good point, apparently the bureaucrats in particular can cause trouble if we leave them un-purged. Statistically Speaking, We're In Trouble just got edited to move the free die that was on turbine upgrades to bureaucrat purging instead, let's try and nip that in the bud.

A few counter arguments

1) Electricity is one of the primary components of MFPG, so we'll need to build those plants anyway, if only to boost the numbers. So, modernizing the grid does not save us from having to spend dice on power plants.
2) Our plants need electricity, but they also need rail access. This is :
- More urgent, as we already have a power surplus but a transport shortage
- Not already handled by other projects (Heavy industry is already building power generators and modernizing the grid)
- More likely to be a problem in the future (in case of war, we will be forced to divide our transport assets between military mobilization and keeping the economy running)

Realized I wasn't using all my Infra dice and still had some Resources left, so I put a few on Grid Modernization. Priority is still on the rails however.

A redundant and efficient power grid is going to be as important for war production as a rail network is, we need both doesn't really matter which order, and completing the national power grid in full will appease the spirit of Lenin and he will smile upon us with good dice and new productive projects. Or if you're not the superstitious type the nerds will finally stop bothering us about it and we can focus on other things.

@Random Member is there no way to get the Ordzhonikidze Plant Modernization into your HI sector? Locking down a precision manufacturing center feels more important for both targets and resource income than a die each on Gorky and the turbine project.

Sorry, but I'm not removing a die from Gorky. Not taking any chances with anything less than 9 dice.

Can you at least shift the turbine die to the Ordzhonikidze modernization? Surely precision manufacturing on par with (or even exceeding!) the capitalists is more important than squeezing some more power out of the old plants, especially when there's not much slack in the system to afford taking them offline to fix and winter brownouts = frozen civilians.

Shifting it is very unlikely to actually matter though, as there's an 82% chance it won't be completed this turn meaning we'll have to spend another dice on it next turn. So may as well do it next turn?

We're finishing multiple new power plants as well, so the effect of brownouts is minimized.

And I don't like editing my plan when so many people have already voted for it. The Purges okay, since it was a new WoQM, and using a few previously unused dice too, but switching one action out with another....

Ok and there's an 18% chance it does complete meaning we don't have to spend another die on it next turn. The turbines are even less likely to complete (on the order of "mathematically impossible") so what's the loss moving the die over?

Ordzhonikidze modernization is more important, it gives capital good and will be useful in supplying shit when we build more plants of any kind.

Differences between leading plans

Infra: Number must go up does western rail networks, Stastically Speaking does far east grid. Both do trolleys, and grid modernization.

HI: Number must go up does 9 dice on Gorky, turbine upgrades, Stastically Speaking does 8 dice on Gorky, Ordokidze plant. Both do power production and casting industry upgrades.

LCI: Both are identical. Baku upgrades, Oil prospecting, synthetic rubber.

Services: Both are identical - Closed City Expansions

Military: Number must go up does pilot academies, Stastically speaking does the LA-1 plant. Both do new fighter, new CAS, new divisional guns, shell plants, Stalingrad plant retooling.

Bureaucracy: Same actions.

I think that's all the differences.

Come on guys, Turbine gives more energy but we are not lacking in it at all with Power plants and Grid modernization happening soon. Ordokinaze might actually give more resource as well since it's capital good and perhaps make precision stuff cheaper. It's simply better to get it first.

[] Plan Numbers Must Go Up

Edit: Nm, I'm not sure about doing Turbine upgrades during the Winter. Seems a bit chancy.

Edit2: On the other hand I do think spending 9 dice on Gorky is more prudent than spending 8 dice there. And I do like getting started on pilot academies.
