Attempting to Fulfill the Plan MNKh Edition

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
The important thing for now is that we avoid making a stock market or any other similar financialization of the economy that hopelessly decouples the accumulation of capital from actually building stuff. Beyond that, some sort of private sector is necessary to avoid having to centrally plan every toothbrush and bog roll. I hope we can keep increasing worker power over the Managers to become something resembling actual socialism.

Fucking market economy, it's eldritch black magic. Making more bananas or candy bars that will just get eaten seems like it should bring no benefits beyond a morale boost, yet somehow it still directly gives us more money to spend on useful stuff like schools and nuclear reactors.
The issue is that can easily result in problems where we focus too much on measures where we only build physical, tangible stuff and underinvest in actual service economy stuff. I don't think financialization is the issue, it's giving increasing power to the managerial class such that they control or effectively control capital.

To an extent though we have already failed because that's what the Party is. Figuring out how to push the USSR to being more democratic is left as an exercise for the reader.

Hopefully better than my first plan, my first mathpost!

okay but what if I want to centrally plan every toothbrush and bog roll :V

More seriously, the rot has definitely spread into the party. At the very least we should forbid members of the SupSov from participating in enterprises, but of course as I've stated I would prefer just abolishing the very concept, and perhaps removing any party members who utilized or supported them as the rightists and Neo-Mensheviks they are

Alas unless the left is able to get good rolls for the first time ever in quest history any reforms (actual reforms not capitalist "reforms") will be impossible most likely

tbh I never got the "But you need a market or you can't track stuff" thing, I would argue the UK in the 40's could have easily run a fully centrally planned system, and we are far beyond that level

On financialization, obviously bad of course, but it is not a unique evil or an evil of it's own caliber, merely an extension of the already existing issue, and capital always wants to grow. If we cannot strike it at the root all at once it will be impossible to dislodge, and all that pruning it will do is allow it to continue it's exponential growth

So the US continues to be not friends.
were we ever expecting them to be? Detente is a bad thing, we must always keep the pressure up and the enemy cooking

Also can I have bit of clarification on the external politics rolls. Are they a generalization of that country's politics and projects or just their current politics. Cus we can have a handful of good and bad rolls a turn but everyone else seems to just get one.

The external dice rolls determine a region's stability unless they are Crisis Rolls, in which case the side that's friendly to the USSR will perform better with higher rolls.

So in this case the high Crisis Roll means Algeria is doing relatively well in its anti-French insurgency, while the low Western Europe roll means France is having a political crisis over the Algerian War.

Also I am sure this will have no negative consequences what so ever for the environment.

An interesting piece of trivia regarding River Reversal. We, and this is not just the discord but the broader state of the internet and academia as well as I understand it, have no idea how it would affect the ecologies of the affected environments. Like we are not only doing something that I am half-sure OTL USSR balked at actually implementing, we are also damaging the environment in ways that is genuinely novel and exotic. Our Environmental Sciences are going to be revolutionary at the very least.

MNKh dice gods just hate France, no matter how much we try to prop them up with policy blunders. If this all whips around and collapses their government like Kilm theorized he'll never stop gloating.

The French external politics dice have been all over the place, honestly. Looking at just the WE dice since the start of the Algeria crisis, we have 98/100/16/17/37/83/11/16 between 1967 and now (3 incredibly high rolls, 4 incredibly low rolls, and 1 meh roll), so it seems like the French can only either roll like gods or crash and burn like the Hindenburg lmao.

Okay so that means America is a bit unstable at the moment but still doing their own projects and developments good to know.

In America Environmental Sciences are about helping the environment. In Soviet Russia Environmental Sciences are about breaking the environment.

We can only hope that the USSR full sending River Reversal prompts the USA to close the "riverine gap" and absolutely fuck themselves and Canada with NAWPA.
