Grey Ghost is specifically noted to hunt(more like fish) his own food. So he is probably cheaper than most.

And I'm now imagining a cute little toddler being found sleeping soundly, no worries at all, on top of Grey Ghost. Meanwhile all the adults have a colletive heart attack.

True. Rhaenyra would be the obvious choice and Jaehaerys isn't expecting her to be the future ruler so can see Jaehaerys going for that. Though not sure Viserys and Aemma would like their daughter marrying a lowborn even with a dragon.

Huh. Rhaenys winning would want him in her corner. And he is young so no need to decide on who right away. Assuming war doesn't break out deciding on who should rule while he is just a kid.

My thoughts were mostly related to the character's interests.
Father was a sailor = he is interested in the world beyond Westeros, has some knowledge of geography and realms across the Narrow Sea.
Has a dragon = will be able to enter Daemon's and Corlys's war for the Stepstones immediately as a player that can influence the plans, not just a soldier in a doomed war.

Compared to, say, befriending the princess - that would probably make the MC more interested in her court faction above anything else.

And some of them are really stupid, arrogent and otheriwse posturing to do something stupid that could make things worse.

Looking at you Daemon. Your adventures, unless you can find a way to profit from them, are doomed to fail.

Having even a semi plan would have made your venture good.

Well, the Great Council won't happen until Baelon the Brave dies, who might I add, has Viserys to count on as a kid.

And while Viserys is a decent king, he also is a stubborn mule.

And surrounded by high towers. but that is a different story.

Well, the thing about Rhaenys... if we married her, our kids would take her name (unless of course, we gain a name in our future adventures, an entirely different story) and since we are a dragon rider, we would be respected, though not by everyone.

However, we are a mute (Albiat a selective trauma mute), so... unless we learn sign, or get over our trauma, we're going to have trouble

Uh... actually that would not be the case.

Grey ghost would be the reason we are mute.

Bonding with a wild dragon would be a very traumatic experience.

Again if that vote wins.

I have a plan for how we became a mute in all plans.

Didn't Baelon died to something affecting his body? But yeah Baelon is the current heir by Jaehaerys with his own kids in Viserys and Daemon who are either married or getting married. Both from the Vale.

Well the Hightowers will only be a major problem if they get that Viserys match. And if they don't could actually be a ally. Just need to make sure they don't get too much power.

Just gonna put Jaehaerys and Daemon part together. Jaehaerys could be argued at being a good ruler but a father/family man? Needs help with that. And yeah Daemon had ambitions but got bored easily and had a temper. Add them together you got Daemon.

They say he died of a bad belly, but I am more thinking it was an Appendicitis that was left untreated, or rather, unnoticed by Baelon himself until it was far to late.

The Problem is, the Hightowers are rich, powerful, prestigious, and have the Maesters on side.

As well as looking Westerosi valyrian and have those same looks.

So even then, they have a pretty stacked deck to remain in power.

They have gotten to Baby making. Leana is already born at this point, same with Laenor.

We will have mastery over Westerosi sign and valyrian sign, yes.

But again, getting over trauma is not going to be easy, and may take a life time.

If nothing else our character is gonna get a solid education at Kings landing or Dragonstone. I'm guessing Dragonstone from Jaehaerys wanting to isolate him from the people from court so they don't put their claws into him. While influencing him indirectly. Probably get him a knight to squire for once he's old enough.
