And What a Dance it Was (NO SV, War is Coming, Prepare)

Indeed, like i said, there could be a few bad apples.

But i'm going to focus on their vows, and their duties, and the friends we make along the way.

Because the Silent Sisters are very underrepresented, and I think to change that shit.
TBH, they only appear in funerals of important guys, and I seriously doubt that readers, in general, like to read detailed descriptions of how morticians worked in the Middle Ages... So I kind of understand why Martin just gives us the faintest details of them.

Yeah, no. The true winner in that game is the one that doesn't play. We don't have any support at all and actually trying to gather allies at this point would be more dangerous than just sitting on the side and accepting the result of the Great Council.

I'd not start with politics until we are at least over 10 years old.
Exactly, let´s avoid that goddamned chair like the plague, it is not worth all the trouble.

So... anyone want another omake?

someone Give me a d10 and I will see who i will write about?

a nine.

(Looks at the List)

Okay, so... Ragnar Farwynd of Iron Isles. Scion of the House of Farwynd, and the Lord of Lonely Light. A Boy of 8, Captian of the Long Ship: Sunset

Currently at court... to serve as a ward and squire to the Master of Ships, Corlys the Sea Snake...

Well, you've chosen the second most interesting character on the list, after Maegor's... 'Bastard' son, and crime boss.

Btw, was the madlad that will push his claim despite being 9 generations removed from the main family in the list at all?
No he was not, mostly because I felt like I would not be challenged by exploring linage.

And no, you will not get his omake, do it yourself if you want that.

I only created several people because I wanted to have fun.

Ragnar is someone who will be fun to write because he's seen as someone no one wants from a place no one wants, or even desires.

But hey, at least all his people are loyal as fuck, and he's won a naval engagement at 7, against pirates.

I just asked because I wanted to see what could drive a man to do such a thing. Entitlement alone cannot reach that far surely.
Well for one thing: He's prophetic and batshit in his dreams. He utterly thinks that the world will soon come to an end, and that a great danger is coming from the North.

He wants to basically turn the Wall into a goddamn turtle, that not even the Horn of Winter can destroy.

Problem is: He thinks it's already happening and wants to genocide the Northman and burn the entire North down... because he thinks they are all agents of the White Walkers, spreading their influence south, and destroying the West, and that the wall is being run by deserters and oath breakers.

You can see where that problem is?

New meme just dropped, lower effort than before but I think this is the start of a wonderful relationship.

No bonus this time, because it dosen't stroke my ego, but I threadmarked it nonetheless.

The Far Winds of the Farwynds
The Far Winds of the Farwynds:

(Ragnar POV)

Brown of hair, green of eyes, small in stature and yet to grow. Those were the words the Maesters described you as you first came to court.

And it didn't get better.

The court was absolutely a snore-fest, yet again, as you stood by the Master of Ships that was your master for the foreseeable future, yet again.

You were not the most sought-after child, you were not even the one that the Master of Ships wanted, he had wanted the Harlow or the Greyjoy heir to serve as his second and ward, to make sure that the Lord of the Isles did not rise in rebellion, and so he could take many ships on his adventures.

Yet the ebony-skinned, light-haired man was sure you were not happy, even as you stood at attention. "Boring as always, these formalities, don't you agree?" He was tired, wishing to be anywhere else in the world it seemed then at court.

"I heard that Small council meetings were rather exciting and that whenever the Old king decides to hold court, it's short and uninteresting, with nothing of note done?" You replied as you leaned against the wall. "I'd rather be sailing."

"I would too, but there are many things you can learn in a place such as this?" The Sea Snake, the only man you respected in this festering shithole of a city, said with absolute calm. "Remember what I said, words are just as dangerous as ships and are more powerful than all the navies of the world. Are you so disgusted by the affairs that you learned nothing?"

"We Ironborn are more at home in the sea than at court." You stated.

"Indeed, but even the Ironborn understand courtesy and decorum." He whispered as he twitched his lip as his lady wife came into the room and you, instinctively gave a bow of your head. The pride you may have, but you knew better than to stomp on the tail of an angry dragon.

She took a seat, looking at you for a moment before she went to her desk, looking at letters and papers. Listening to you speak. "Now tell me, what did you learn about the fleet composition of the Eastern Fleets of Pentos, acor-"

You frowned. "Really, they follow a heavy formation of brigs and galleys, with transports in the center. Please stop treating me like I don't read?"

Corlys snakes a smile on his face, and he looked at his wife. "See, I told you he learns well what he wants, but he never wants to learn what is hard for his mind to understand."

"Just like Laenor." She musted as you found yourself frowning.

"I-"

Corlys however, sighed and took a long moment before silence took hold of you, stopping you from saying a word. "What happens is that you must learn what you do not wish to like. It will save your life, and it will bring you much happiness. Even if you do not wish it."

You frowned. "As your wish my lord."

You bowed to the princess. "Your Grace?"

"Ragnar." She stated as you looked up to see her violet eyes. "Do not mistake our annoyance for malice. You may not be beliked by the court, but you are welcome in this family, no matter what the others say. We have been tasked in making sure you will become a fine young man, do not waste it by thinking we are hard on you."

You nodded. "Very well, Princess."

You then walked out of the room, and sighed, feeling utterly angry.

And utterly alone. You wanted someone here that could understand what you were. Who you were.

Not people who pretended.

Your wish may never be answered. And that might be the worst thing that could happen to you.
---------------------

As you wandered the halls, you had heard whispers that someone new was coming to court, a dragon rider, not a Targaryen, but some low born that was a sea-son, son of a great captain of the Narrow Sea.

And you could think about, was how to introduce yourself. He might understand.

Thank the gods.

AN: Enjoy.

-[X]Bring your Mother: Your mother knows court, despite not being in it for years. You trust her to keep you safe. (Will remain as a new courtier at Dragonstone, and make herself available to serve the Prince)
-[X]Riding with the Prince on his Dragon: The Prince has offered to take you and your family to the Capital on his dragon, to give you the sensation of flying, and how you like it.
    [X] Plan: Fireworks
-[X]Bring Both: You want both your parents to come with you (DC: 40, The King is not going to like this at all)
-[X]By Your Father's Ship: Your Father hasn't been able to sail for a month, and it is only a few days' sail to the Capital.
[X] Bring your Father: Your Father has always had a knack for reading situations, and he is the strongest man you have ever known. Let him come. Perhaps the Red Keep needs to see a true captain again. He also will never let you leave his side. (If not chosen, he will be sailing east, to Pentos.)

[X]Go Alone: You will go alone, with Prince Baelon and his court. (Please note this is highly irregular, but it will make you friends, and enemies at court)
[X]With the Prince's Retinue: The Prince will be taking you and your family to the capital. He needs to make a show of this new… scenario.

Alright, about court, how is Daemon the Rogue Prince at parties and can he be used as a way to make something work.
Well Daemon himself detests the more fancy parties of the usual courtly affairs. He loves the more rantious and broken tavern parties that he and Viserys sometimes have. Mostly they get into drinking contests, and there are times when the men are hung over and fly their dragons drunk.

Well more like Daemon does and that leads to many times where he wakes up in the middle of the king's wood with only his trousers on, and a few maids with him, while Viserys and his wife go at it in bed at the keep, but they never go as far as to take their clothes off, only some light foreplay before bed.
Who has the most sway among the small council?
Currently Corlys the Sea Snake. That man holds sway over the court as he owns to the world, mainly because he is so fabulously rich that he can buy them off. As he learns, there is no problem that can't be solved with copious amounts of money.

Lyonel strong is still two years from being appointed Master of Coin, after his handling of the Great Council's administration. But he is a member of the court, and he is very much a capable administrator vying for the Hand of the Kingship

Maester Mellios is Grand Maester and holds lots of influence on the Old King, but not on the rest of his fellows.

Prince Baelon is the hand of the King, and everyone likes and respects his mostly sound judgments when he makes proclamations. They think he will serve well as King when the Old Man finally dies.

Meanwhile: The young men (Children or young men recognized by the Court who are not members of the Royal Family) of the court are as follows:

Ragnar Farwynd, Lord of Lonely Light, Ward of Corlys the Seasnake. A boy of 8
Edwyn Darklyn, Son of the Darklyn Line, does not stand to Inherit Rosby, Squire for Ryman Redwyne. A Boy of 10
Howland Ryswell, Son of Robert Ryswell, Heir to The Rills. A boy of 9
Roderick Dustin, The Eldest of the young members at 19, Lord of Barrowton, is currently in the south to help his friend Howland get settled in King's Landing.

The Young maids are not known to you at this time.
