I am. I need runes for engineering purposes. Wardings. Specialized effects. Production lines. Weapons. Industry.

I'm sure the Abyss won't mind the occasional harvest.
 
I'm perfectly game for sacrificing to empower runes, I'm just arguing that it should only be necessary for truly powerful stuff like the Wall or replicating Winterfell's wards, or Azel's schemes. Everything else below that should be perfectly fine with using crafting materials.

If we ever get to the point where we need regular, sustained blood sacrifice to fuel our infrastructure, then we are going to hire more Erinyes, who are then tasked to organize hunting parties into the Abyss.

Once word get's around, they will kick down our door to get hired.

Yeah, but we need an empire-wide festivity about invading the Pit to gather CE morons to feed our trees or something.

Once we get a high enough amount of mages we will need a way for them to show off somehow.
 
Well look at us, already looking towards moving to fully renewable energy.
Renewable in that the infinite layers of the Abyss will always have more things for us to ritually murder for power, still counts!

Stopping here, since I can't predict her reaction with any reliability from here on. The Concord is a pretty huge out-of-context-problem for pretty much everyone who wasn't there. If we hadn't invited Zherys, I'm pretty sure he would have called bullshit if we told him of the deals made there.
 
Mmm. Not sure leaning that hard on the guild at this juncture is a good idea. Especially since they are our largest political ally in the city at the moment.

I think we should save dismantling them for post conquest.

Either we are doing this now or we are giving them legal title to act as the Scholarium of Myr. I'm firmly against the latter.

Beside that, we are not negotiating with the guild right now. We are negotiating with Lady Phassen. And for her, that deal is pretty damn sweet.

Also her options are literally:

1) Sell out her associates and submit to our authority, and in exchange we will ensure her position as ruler of Myr is unassailable, full of riches, and secure with the power of magic at her fingertips.

2) Deny us, and be destroyed.

Like any good Dark Lord.
 
Between Myr, Mantarys, Tolos, and Volantis fully integrating, the Scholarium is about to get quite the influx of new talent and lore.

Also man it does give the heart warm fuzzed to see Garin, Richard, Maelor and the Legions bring THE LAW to the Tyroshi hinterlands
