Ellaria in canon: "Doran, Kinslaying is terrible! Gods, this war is horrible, what ever shall we do!"

Ellaria in show: "FUCK WEAK MEN! DORNE RULEZ! MY BAE TURNS IN HIS GRAVE... BECAUSE I MURDERED HIS FUCKING BROTHER AND NEPHEW. GONNA WILLFULLY IGNORE THE FACT THAT KINSLAYING IN THIS MANNER AS A BLATANT POWER GRAB MAKES ME EVEN FUCKING WORSE THAN THE FREYS AND I SHOULD BE PERSONA NON-GRATA TO EVEN THE TARGARYEN AT THIS POINT. I'M CLEARLY ABOUT AS TRUSTWORTHY AS A SNAKE."

The worst part was Dorne going along with it. Dornish treat bastards well... but not when they're kinslaying usurpers. The mere idea that Dorne would have bowed to Ellaria and the Sand Snakes after that should have led to quite a few firings among the writers.

So, which canon would Viserys feel more disguised, book canon or HBO canon?

Show canon. Book canon has people who can be salvaged, at the very least.

@Duesal will show us, though. He's using book canon, I believe, so it shouldn't be a total wash.

To name a few, Doran and the Sealord should be alright as per ASWaH.

Arianne is desperate and dumb, but she might be calmed the fuck down.

Dany, it depends. If she's borderline crazy, that'll take some therapy he'll basically be blindly waddling through, and leaning on supernatural charisma for. If it's initial canon, like @Duesal's plothook, she should recover from the abuse.

Damn.

That's how you write a badass motherfucker.
Or how about Stannis' lack of fookin' pikes!
"Pikes are expensive, so I've made the executive decision of not buying any."
"More expansive than fucking HORSES?! The enemy is mounting their peasant farmers!"
"Do you think gold-plating is cheap, huh? I could never afford that many pikes."

It turns out Stannis' armorer is an SI from the Imperium of Man, whom had worked on a feudal world as smith for imperial nobility.

Thus, the basest he could ever fathom going is gold-plating.

Trying to decide if Viserys would try bringing Ned back or not. I like to think he'd do it just to give Robb a few more decades to get seasoned... the boy clearly can't handle his unruly vassals. At least Ned held their unquestionable respect and knew their personalities well enough to anticipate them.

He most likely would. It just makes everything easier to have a Lord Paramount on your side... along with the fact that he'd do it for Jon if nothing else.

Viserys needs an heir!

One who actually wants to rule. Because clearly Dany was operating mostly on momentum...

With no Lya, I can't see him bothering with siring his own for awhile. Gotta have contingencies in place.

Yeah, no Lya would mean no heir for a very long time.

Anyway, speaking of Dany, Viserys would be massively triggered by show!Dany. He'd probably spend quite a bit of time making her sit still while he cleans up the mess she made in Slaver's Bay... and taking out all his frustration on the Sons of the Harpy. I would normally call them poor bastards, but I really hate those guys.

EDIT: After finding out she was starting to feed people to her dragons without trial, he would give her a very, very frank explanation on the kind of man Aerys really was. That I would pay to read.

If I was Viserys, I would probably hunt them all down one by one and hang them, alternating with summarily executing them on the spot with Dark Sister if I run out of rope. And that's not "open battle with them in the streets" executing, I mean randomly picking one of the Sons out of a crowd, slaying them, and ghosting away like those motherfuckers do on the regular.

Just be motherfucking batman for a month, return to Dany's council chambers covered in blood like a fucking cat dragged in the canary every so often to update her.

Dragonman.

God, the absolute complete lack of rule of law. The lack of economic reform. The lack of trade connections, the lack of militarization and mobilization.

The ignoring of advisers, the chaining up your dragons.

Viserys: "You're grounded."

Dany: "I--I'm the Queen!"

Viserys: "If you have to tell someone "I am the Queen" to be obeyed, you don't deserve to be Queen."

Dany: "You don't have to deserve to rule, you just rule!"

Viserys, pulling a face: "Gods fucking damn me. I raised a monster."

I can't wait to condescend Euron for his lack of conviction.

A thousand gods and more you know, yet you still serve, the true lesson was lost on you Euron...

You know what would be great? Viserys leaving either a dragonpen or Varys with Dany to babysit her as part of her punishment.

"Viserys wouldn't do that."
"You know Viserys wouldn't want you to do that."
"I'm going to tell Viserys."
"That's it, you're going to sleep."

For that last one, Varys finds having sleep poison on demand very handy.

Is there a more secure place we can lock Wildfire up? I figure there isn't a safe way to dispose of it yet so we can possibly study or use it ourselves in future only if desperate.

Barristan watching Viserys like a hawk for signs of madness would be an interesting dynamic.

Mostly because I see Viserys relying on Barristan as basically the only adviser he can trust in the short term to sort out the mess, along with the absolutely complete respect for his deeds and actions.

And Viserys being basically the "good king" he was hoping for, but not being able to trust his own eyes and ears because of hindsight bias.

Edit: If I was doing this plot from in the middle of the Mereen timeframe, I would have Viserys be doing more of a shadow ruler vizier type approach than just revealing his presence right off the bat.

Then do the dramatic reveal because that tickles mine/Viserys' sense of theatrics, and it's also just plain practical by that point.

Viserys having to show Dany she became his lesser self. Trippy.

I'd really prefer they did, we already have a "throw an Arcanum at it" problem, our graduates are "too slow" in the face of instant mid-level caster and I mourn the greater part they could have played in this story if not overshadowed by budget Lyas.
You know, there is an easy fix for that. Set something up that benefits from lots of low-level casters, that can't be done better by singular high-power ones.

The reason that I'm so annoyed with the current alchemy crafting is that it's literally "throw free PC time at the problem".

I greatly prefer to set up institutions and large scale operations that give meaning and purpose to people below lvl 5, but that's something we still have no option to do in the crafting sector.
