Just because it can burn underwater doesn't mean it can spread and ignite other stuff. No big deal, though. Removed that section.

It's more the visibility of it would be revealed to people paying close attention to the area. Or running stupidly extensive divination trees.

"Will any sort of attack or disaster or uproar occur in King's Landing X vector Y timeframe etc."

"What kind of attack/disaster/uproar?"

"Who was involved? No response. Wildfire spotted by dozens. Are the alchemists involved?"

Etc. Granted it's not guaranteed to draw in enemies to all the old caches, since there's a lot of steps along the way they could get sidetracked or distracted about such an inquiry, but it seems like an inordinately pointless risk to take when we don't have to.

It's okay to be paranoid when you know they're out to get you.

Okay, here's what I've got for the Sins of the Past action. Thoughts and suggestions?

[] Sins of the Past
-[] As part of the preparations to locate the Wildfire caches hidden in King's Landing at King Aerys' command, we will do the following:
--[] Inquire of Yss if our attempts to Scry on the hidden Wildfire will be detected by anyone with the ability and intent to hinder our efforts despite our precautions.
--[] Malarys will prepare (x3) Owl's Wisdom, (x3) Greater Scrying, and (x3) Scrying spells each day while we are in the scouting phase of the action. He will borrow Lya's Mind Blank earring for the duration of this action.
--[] The chamber of the Shadow Tower where we will perform the Scrying will be protected by a False Vision spell cast by Tyene which will show an empty room to anyone successfully to Scry upon it, as well as a Mage's Private Sanctum courtesy of Lya. They will renew the spells daily.
--[] Each day, both during the scouting phase as well as the retrieval phase, Dany will use her Telepath creature template. She will make sure to keep the Archon assisting us Mind Blank'd at all times during this action.
-[] Before each Scrying session:
--[] Viserys will cast Moment of Greatness on himself and Malarys using his Grimoire, then place a Nine Lives spell on Malarys. He will then Blood Wish a Harmonic Chorus spell on himself to increase his caster level by +2, then cancel his Moment of Greatness spell to increase the caster level of his next spell, a Blood Wished Owl's Insight, by +4. Finally, he will Blood Wish another Harmonic Chorus spell, this one on Malarys. Viserys will make use of the Living Restoration Spell ooze, along with the magic bedroll, as necessary in order to repair his Charisma damage and to replenish his spells in order to continue enhancing Malary's Scrying efforts.
--[] While affected by Harmonic Chorus, Malarys casts Owl's Wisdom on himself at 16th level, then cancels his Moment of Greatness as part of casting Greater Scrying in order to raise his caster level to 19. Between the Owl's Wisdom and Owl's Insight spells, Malarys' Wisdom attribute will be increased to 35, for a +12 bonus.
---[] As part of each Scrying attempt, Malarys will use the Wildfire Orb as a focus item to help him home in on the hidden WIldfire caches.
--[] The Archon who has volunteered to assist us in this action will pay close attention to the location of each Wildfire cache, committing it to memory in order to be able to use Greater Teleport to reach them when the time is right. As part of preparing for its role, the Archon will be included in our daily Persistomancy.
-[] When all the Wildfire caches are located, we will move into the retrieval phase of this action:
--[] Malarys will prepare (x7) Find the Path spells to assist the Archon, should they prove necessary.
--[] Dany will use her Telepathic Bond SLA to create a link between the minds of herself, Viserys, Malarys, Lya, Tyene, and the Archon.
--[] Before departing, the Archon will be buffed with the following spells: from Viserys (Grand Destiny, Starmantle, Nine Lives, & Invisibility), from Dany (Mind Blank Energy Immunity[Fire], Protection from Energy[Fire], Resist Energy[Fire], Shield of Faith & Freedom of Movement), from Lya (Barkskin, Moment of Greatness, Heroism, Divine Protection, Mass Aid, Overland Flight, & Life Bubble), from Tyene (Greater Blindsight, Fickle Winds, Nondetection, & Wind Walk), from Malarys (Find the Path), and from Velen (Inner Beauty).
--[] Once prepared, the Archon will begin retrieving the Wildfire, carefully returning each load of Wildfire to a barren rocky islet we have selected ahead of time for its lack of value.
@Goldfish, as an extra insurance, the Archon should benefit from both of these:

Renewal Pact – Spell – D&D Tools
Stalwart Pact – Spell – D&D Tools

We need every advantage possible against surprise!interference.

Bloodraven did encourage us to have Waymar study it and come up with a purified non-fiendish version. I imagine it'd be something like empowered alchemist's fire or something, without any of the metaphysical taint that original wildfire has.

Honestly, wildfire just seems too volatile as a sacrifice and likely to harm the deity we'd try to sacrifice it to. There's a reason I'm not drooling over this. It's mainly just toxic waste we need to get rid of, minus a tiny bit preserved for Waymar to poke at.

EDIT: ... I'm very tempted to toss it at R'hllor now.

Rh'llor, being probable!asmodeus will likely benefit from such. The only reason that I'm for checking if we can scarifice it is so that we can remove it without having to set it off.

Or destroy it in an amf, now I think for a moment.

By the way, @Goldfish, side note. In PMs with DP, it was confirmed that the ward in the Shadow Tower, the one that no-sells all divinations and scrying, is this:
Secure Cavern: The entire cavern is affected by a mind blank spell. No one in the cavern can be affected by devices and spells that detect, influence, or read emotions and thoughts, up to and including miracle or wish. Even a scrying attempt that scans an area does not work.
Strong abjuration; CL 15th; Craft Wondrous Item, mind blank; Price 60,000 gp.
Lair Ward, Draconomicon, page 85.

In hindsight it's really nice to know that our operations have been backed by such an amazing ward this whole time.

@Goldfish also give the archon a persisted true seeing from Dany via 18 ideas and the spell true seeing?

And also it comes by to get persistomancy the days before maybe? Just throwing that out here.

Yeah I really like the Lair Wards, I've just checked and the Bright Luminary has the line "creatures affected by normal daylight are affected by Bright Luminary as well".

Explicit confirmation we can grow plants (and fuck up Vampires).

So... what happens if they find chunks of wildifre that are heavier than 50lbs?

Like huge barrels of the stuff?

I mean, conventional wisdom says that simply doesn't happen, but both TV series and Aerys are a thing so...

Then they teleport to us, tell us the situation, and we figure out a different approach.

It would be monstrously difficult to move barrels of wildfire into position all over the city. Without magic.

I'm betting on 'no'.

Like the entire Dornish plotline.

The entire Euron plotline.

Most of Theon's plotline after Winterfell.

Sansa's on and off... she can sort of be excused, they're trying to condense a lot, and hers is actually not the worst condensing point.

The missed opportunities... the Hound's arc sort of deflating at "well shit, I guess we gotta get the A-Team together now". I mean you could'a still had your A-Team moment, HBO, you could have done it in the last season... why tease fans for EIGHT SEASONS like that?

The "go beyond the wall" plotline... I mean couldn't you have at any point nabbed proof SEASONS ago and kept it locked up in one of the ice cells at Castle Black? It's not as if you're contending with weighty conceptual rules like we're operating under in ASWaH...

Or what about Euron's fucking arc?!?! HIS TELEPORTING FLEET?!

Or how about Tyrion's quite reasonable invasion plans inexplicably not working? Just to show he wasn't good at war? CERSEI'S GUYS WEREN'T THAT IMPRESSIVE EITHER, OR DANY WOULDN'T HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM WITH "APPLY THE DRAGONFIRE DIRECTLY ON THE LANNISTER FOREHEAD".

Dany being as tired of this shitty Mereen arc as book readers have been since Dance... you little shit, they've been waiting longer than you.

Ah... I need a drink for the rest of this.

In fact, forget the rest. Just give me the drink.

Or what about Euron's fucking arc?!?! HIS TELEPORTING FLEET?!
Euron's an EPIC CONJURER, boy.
Or how about Tyrion's quite reasonable invasion plans inexplicably not working
I don't remember that? When did he do it, when did it fail?

Yeah, this.

Honestly, GoT started amazing, a deep, political show with intricate characters, but as it progressed they diverged more and more from the books, like the assassination of Renly's character, and I'm not taking about a shadow baby here, to by the end being pure fanfiction.

I can't forgive the shit death they gave Ser Barrisan. The knight who died because he inexplicably couldn't find a suit of armour in the entirety of Slavers Bay. He died just because, the actor even sent a letter to the directors asking arguing he is important to Dany's character development, but got laughed out.

And so the finest knight of Westeros dies, naked as Little Finger mocked him for, to a bunch of spoiled nobles with daggers and masks.

Tyrions plans didn't work mostly due to Euron' s teleporting fleets

So yes, his plotline sucks in the show, doesnt even have an eyepatch nor a crew of mutes.
"For I serve all gods." that's the Euron we should have.

"Godless? Why, Aeron, I am the godliest man ever to raise sail! You serve one god, Damphair, but I have served ten thousand. From Ib to Asshai, when men see my sails, they pray."
—Euron to Aeron Greyjoy
"I am the storm, my lord. The first storm, and the last."
—Euron to Rodrik Harlaw

Euron could have been great in the show. They truly and utterly squandered a fantastic villain.

@TotallyNotEvil It was part of the start of the last Season where they were splitting up, with Euron's EPIC CONJURATION POWERED teleporting fleet rocking around and beating them piecemeal like a redheaded stepchild. FOR NO REASON.

Further the Lannister's inexplicably motherfucking PRESCIENT troop movements countering them from the Westerlands to the Reach, to be followed by ON AN OPEN FIELD, NED!

On that subject, the Reach's inexplicable absence of troops to swamp the Lannisters as Reachmen queue up to pike the fuckers, because Stannis only got the Florents and some hangers on from the Reacher host, or SHOULD HAVE, and the Reach should have had plenty of men since they weren't savaged by the fighting all around the Riverlands or Crownlands barring the Blackwater, a battle which was mostly resolved in a rout, which is messy but not casualty heavy for the pursuant side.

Or MACE THE ACE's inexplicable lack of male heirs because ACTORS ARE EXPENSIVE. WOOO.

You couldn't have dredged up some young, pliable British talent? You limeys are crawling in young actors! FER CHRISSAKE!

Or how about Stannis' lack of fookin' pikes!

THE ONE HOST WITHOUT A WALL OF SPEARS, POISED AGAINST AN ARMY WITH ENOUGH HORSE TO MOUNT EVERYONE? IN THE NORTH?!

THE BARROWLANDS AIN'T THAT RICH, SON!

And don't get me started on the "wall of dead landslide gambit".
