[X] "Are we not all more than we appear to be at first glance, Wisdom?"
-[X] As we answer, gradually return to human form, timing it so that we become fully human just as we finish speaking.
--[X] "Of course, there is a story to be told, one that is all the more fantastical for being the unvarnished truth. That tale won't be told quite yet, however, as I find myself...curious. What is it that you truly seek, that you would pit yourselves against foes such as these, when the Efreeti ships plying the Boiling Sea make such easy targets of themselves?"
[X] "A bold question, but of course, we are all more than we appear dont you agree?"
-[X] "In any case, when asking for someone's secrets, its always polite yo offer your own, perhaps you can now tell me why we are really here? What do you want with this prisoner, and why would a group of pirates risk bringing a red dragon of all things to their prize?"
-[X] "But to answer your question, does the name "Valyria" mean anything to you?"
[X] Plan Cast A Hook
-[X] "Should not all strive to be more then they are?"
-[X] "You have seen my shape and assumed to know who I am, just a greedy, preening lizard. But know that I am more then scales and flame."
-[X] Transform into your human shape.
-[X] "Though I am afraid that I do not gift all my secrets to just anyone."
I seriously think you guys are rocking too much of that draconic ego. Far too much.
The point of the lizard line was to mockingly echo what they probably thought about us, but that was, yet again, lost on everyone it seems. Instead we get more dick-waving...
@Goldfish, I'm not sure how it happened, perhaps error on my part, but I have no intention of having more than one skill point in knowledge skills Lya doesn't focus* on, I specifically only desired that she got one rank in such skills to make use of that lovely int score.
So yeah, was surprised to see two points on her char sheet for those.
Edit: a smattering of points in the nature/dungeoneering does no harm, but more than one in maths or economics seems wasteful.

By the way, we were supposed to talk to Vessil at some point because he was interested in going out and doing his own thing at some point.
I think he's a Sorcerer now?

Honestly what she does is irrelevant to me. She brings nothing to the table in high level combat, isn't bound to Maelor, etc.
She might make a halfway decent baby adventurer, but we'll need to see how she actually conducts herself in operations. I would wait for that assessment before seeing if she wants to join the Inquisition.

The issue was that Vessil would possibly leave us completly.
I have no problem with that, but I thought some of the resident magpies would not want to let one of our citizens of exotic race and with PC-potential go without talking about it first.
If you don't care about him that's fine, I assumed she was forgotten during the plan-making.
Those things are fucking amazing. Fingers, thumbs, can carry moderately heavy objects. Can talk will all others of their species regardless of language. And, for some mad reason, they appear to be the dominant species... So that's handy.
The lack of movement abilities is a pain, as is their lack of ex abilities, but a few items can take care of the first.
I wonder what a shadow drake's lifespan looks like.
Edit: but talking to her about joining the Inquisition when she gets a few levels is something I would like to do.
150-200.
Not very long, but for the human familiar it would definitly be an upgrade.
Also you forgot to mention that human familiars can do a lot of mundane crafting or similar things, very useful if the caster is an item-creator but doesn't want to invest skillpoints in Craft (something).

Vessil could ride around on her Human's shoulder, who she has dress up like an Inquisition agent, so people mistake her for the Familiar and try to deal with her Human like they were in charge.

I genuinely don't give a crap about her. If she doesn't want to swear loyalty and bind herself to us then I don't care. And she wasn't that useful to begin with.
Garin Drekelis looked at the map laid out before him, silently wishing he could rub his temples against the headache he had been experiencing for the past four days. He could already anticipate how that would go: the devils would take it as a sign of weakness. Then the damn floating book would offer to heal him of it and he would have to refuse since there was no way on this moon-kissed earth he would share that particular secret with everyone in attendance here.
"The flock moving in the peaks around Adder's Fork's is the strongest and the best led from all the reports we've compiled..." Garin began.
"'Murder'," Mereth interjected, politely but firmly. "The proper term for a gathering of harpies is a 'murder'. Unimaginative as it may be it will serve us well to keep the character of your common foe well in mind. It is only through knowledge that we may prevail..."
"Too much knowledge can be harmful," Naeron replied, predictable as clockwork. You'd think he'd be able to recognize baiting by now, the young keyholder thought. Thank all the kindly gods the none of Glyra's kin were around to 'help out.' If Relath had not taken an unexpected shine to Glyra there would probably be at least one dead gremlin to account for.
"A strange thing for one bearing your form to say," the Fury noted with false surprise. "How many of those pages are blank because they have been wiped 'clean'?"
Garin cleared his throat loudly, feeling unaccountably like a parent between bickering siblings for all both spirits of light and darkness were older than the tongues of men could tell. "Regardless, we have far more pertinent knowledge at hand." Drawing a crumpled parchment from his cloak, he continued with the main thrust of the meeting: "Glyra found the nest last night, through subterfuge."
"What manner of subterfuge?" the codex spirit's crystalline voice rose in surprise. "Our scouts have been trying to lay traps throughout the peaks for weeks."
"Glyra took on the from of a child and allowed herself to be carried to the nest as a meal. She killed the harpy carrying her once she got a good look at it." A moment of dead silence followed in the wake of his words.
"So, she bounced instead of breaking," Mereth chuckled, her words holding an edge of unwilling admiration. "The little thing was not lying when it boasted to be the world's mightiest gremlin."
"Or the maddest," Leto grumbled.

When the Doom came to Valyria the settlement of Adder's Fork could barely be called a town, more a collection of daub and wattle huts huddling together against the cold winds and wild beasts of the Painted Mountains as much as Dothraki raiders from beyond. The years had been kind to the rivertown, however, leaving it small and out of the way enough that no great Khalasar would care to meddle with it while also serving as the sole gateway into the mountains. Those lands were savage and cruel but rich also for those who would dare the journey: prospectors seeking gold and silver, hunters on the trail of rich furs to sell on to the highborn of the rich coastal cities, and more.
The town had raised a strong wall on its landward side to ward against beasts and bandits as well as docks to encourage growing trade. Unlike most in these lands they cared little for the ban on slavery, for it would be mad to trust scores and hundreds of resentful slaves in these half-tamed lands. The guildmasters were looking forward to growing trade and prosperity under the banner of the Dragon of Tolos. So it was little wonder that it was they who suffered some of the worst raids from the Sons of the Harpy... and the harpies themselves. Sheep and cattle were slaughtered and left to rot in the fields, children snatched up never to be seen again, save perhaps as grizzly remains cast onto their families' roofs at night, and all the while the scouts and hunters of the Fork, skilled and woodswise though they were, could not find the creatures' nest.
Thus it was perhaps unsurprising that upon seeing what looked to be a nobleman, his wife, and their son at their gates in the early hours of the evening, they did not imagine that this was the help they had been promised from the south.
The boy cursed under his breath, drawing curious looks from his supposed parents.
"I fail to see how that helps anything," Mereth's voice echoed coolly in the minds of both her companions. Though she understood the value of being able to communicate without speaking, Garin knew it irked her to play messenger like this. After a moment's pause she added to Garin alone: "The boy spotted demonic markings on some of windowsills, invitations to strike at foes. It seems not everyone in this town is as happy to fly the sea dragon banner. There is some small magic to their carving. If nothing else it shall be entertaining to show the thralls of the Tanar'ri the weakness of those whose service they sold themselves."
Garin nodded. Not precisely how he would have phrased it, but it came out to the same thing in the end.
OOC: Garin's solution to having gremlins and devils on the same side is to keep them working on different aspects of the mission and meeting as little as is humanly (and inhumanly) possible.
Vessil could ride around on her Human's shoulder, who she has dress up like an Inquisition agent, so people mistake her for the Familiar and try to deal with her Human like they were in charge.
Oh. Yes. Yes please! That is amazing! "Vestil, Secret Inquisitor and Pet (also known as Door Opener and Mobile Hand Unit) Are on the case commissioner. We'll catch those that were making that baby soup!
Two hours later "Don't worry local business man, we'll find out who has been contaminating your ingredients"
...
Don't worry my lady, we'll help you find your huge diamond that you dropped on the ocean for some mad reason. Though i'm surprised you were so careless with it"
"..."
"Oh, well, I suppose we all change our minds. Have to say, for a 80 year old human, you're looking very healthy.
Whatever you are doing, keep it up!"
And so on. Vestil and Pet go forward, aiding each imperriled or distressed citizen as needed, the unwinding the recursion and then throwing the previous assist-ee to the person above them in the chain, on repeat.
This got away from me. :/
Oh, dammit. Might be a bit late, but if only the local Inquisition branch head, or lawmen branch head had been called commissioners!
