Honestly the only parts of the ship this should damage are those above deck level. So the masts if it was a normal ship. As it is I think the plan is to keep the effect ankle level and up.

So even the deck should just get really covered with ash. Which given the fact that this is the plane of fire and it's a hell ship would probably be an improvement to whatever sqick inducing stuff is coating it now.

Honestly how many devils are still on the deck? Atleast 20 steel devils, two golems and the now blind seer. What else?

We can actually aim it tho.
In that case you mind adding to your vote that we try our best not to wreck the ship too badly?
[X] Cast Shadow of the Doom as a full-round action. If anyone's still alive, cast a Quickened Searing Firebrand.
-[x] Designate everyone on your side as exempt from the spell, Dany uses Alter Fortune if we botch the Concentration roll.
-[x] Try not to laugh maniacally as the Plane of Fire Enlarges and Maximizes your spells.
Not to mention trying to spare the golems so we can loot them once the oracle is taken care of.

Searing, Enlarged, and Maximized
What would the damage be, by the way?
I'm really interested in playing up "Fire and Ice" theme when fighting Efreets next time.

And being an absolute asshat from their PoV for two reasons at the same time }=D

Let's not make assumptions here. This is the most powerful fire spell we have, we've never cast it before, and here it's going to be Searing, Enlarged, and Maximized all at once.

I will be genuinely shocked if it doesn't utterly wreck the ship.
It is a spell.
I has a definite area of effect.

We are not talking about any unknowns here, no weird ritual magic, not a Wish or MIracle trying to go beyond it's basic effects, no interfering factors.
We have something with well-defined effects that will do exactly what it is supposed to do, as written in the description.
I really doubt DP will deviate from that, or we might as well start playing Warhammer.

I thought it was obvious.

But I'm not risking failing the concentration check and slagging our friends because you want a couple of golems. I've added a provision to sparing them if it won't interfere with targeting devils, but that's it.

I now have a mental image of our party composed squarely out of Orc Weird Boiz.

Alright, alright.

At least the worst thing that could happen here is us pointing to the slagged sinking wreck and telling Yrten to "go dive after your share".

I just checked the spell. I didn't see the additional concentration checks for each individual isolated from the effects or I wouldn't have tried to suggest it.

Either way:

[X] Cast a Quickened Searing Firebrand against all devils with the intent to annihilate the Steel Devils and severely injure the Oracle.

You might not give a damn about damage to the ship, but I do.

Sweet jesus Duesal, DP just said it'd take some damage.

The spell has a definite area of effect. We will likely slag the upper deck, but no more!

I would like to reiterate my general support for adding grand destiny to our ore fight buffs.

Or a chained one, if it is chain able. Anyway I'm not seeing the advantage of melting a potential scarafice. But eh. Hopefully it turns to stone.

@DragonParadox does the immunity to the SotD spell we can give people also render them immune to the effect of the ash on vision and slipperyness?

Also what the unholy heartburn is three temperature bands higher than the flame sea in the Plane of Fire in heat?

And TNE if this works please promise we will use atleast 8 of the steel devils to make a Standard of Steel Chant.

Slipperiness yes, vision no, but the ash will settle quickly

Could someone link me Lya's level up plan so I can handle that now?
Here you go:
[X] Lya Level Up
-[X] Class: +1 Sage of Creation
-[X] Feat: Practiced Spellcaster (Divine)
-[X] Skills (9 points): +1 Concentration, +1 Knowledge(Arcana), +1 Knowledge(Religion), +1 Knowledge(The Planes), +1 Spellcraft, +2 Knowledge(Architecture & Engineering), +2 Knowledge(Mathematics)
-[X] Lore of the Inner Planes: Plane of Fire

So we need to roll a 33 or higher. Our concentration in TD form is +28.

Will this overly damage the ship?

Ash, the odd lightning strike and heat shouldn't damage the ship. Only creatures take the fire damage.

Viserys is still affected by the previously cast Grand Destiny and should have at least three charges left. He can use one to add a +4 bonus to his Concentration check, TNE.
