I know it seems pretty evil to make the spiders stupid, but cursing them to 1 int and giving them skill tricks so we can milk them is a good way of getting effectively unlimited colossal spider venom. Not only would it be an incredibly valuable trade good, it would also greatly increase how dangerous Tyene is in combat.

My plan also gets us unlimited colossal spider venom. Harvest the venom sacks as grafts, and then stick them on the first proper hydra we manage to grow. The spiders are simply too valuable as sacrifices to justify keeping around.

Now we could go around and get some of the smaller spiders for a project like this, but the bigger ones definitely go to the tree.

We can curse the Hydras and train them as warbeasts, then.

Here I'm having second thoughts about my calculations on hydra's material worth and how dnd not being made for realistic biological calculations in mind is straining my SoD...
And I get a little idea.

Sad idea.
@Duesal, forget about making a super-poison hydra with spider parts.

Our hydras are blessed by Yss, while spiders are of Lolth.
Yeah, it will not work.

No need to risk the new bags of venom. The ones we put the grafts on can sit tight as we harvest everything while the others get trained as warbeasts. It's not like we're going to have a shortage of hydras.

I was also thinking of having Yss bless the hydras to make them easier to train so they're actually worth a damn in the Legion without needing direct Vee supervision.

One minor blessing does not suddenly mean all fiendish grafts will be rejected.

I was rather thinking miNor blessings that two warring gods that went into making hydra-parts and spider-parts would not go along.

Also, I think i'll ask DP to lower the profits from hydras when scales/hide is concerned 10 times.
My sod is stretched really thin, painfully so, that all other creatures don't give nearly as much materials.

Dnd is not made with such calculations like those I made in mind, sure...
But neither I had everything perfect :/
Looking back on it, I am incredibly ashamed of how I calculated hide's weight and 10 times less seems only right thing to do.

...well, at least the fact that snake's body weight is 5-8% in blood is not something that I could have fucked up by eyeballing.
No matter how you look at these heads of theirs, they'd still give those insane amounts of poisonous blood.

I do have a question concerning the spider venom grafts. Are we potentially attaching them to Hydras in order to create a more poisonous hydra, or is it to just make sure that we can keep the spider venom? I'm slightly confused why it's the hydra that has to get the graft. Couldn't we attach it to something like a painted lizard that we keep in our Menagerie?

I think y'all are over complicating the spider venom.

Each of the Colossal spiders should have a huge amount venom, dozens of gallons each. Properly preserved, that should be enough to last us for many years, as a single dose could be as little as an ounce.

The hydra doesn't have to be the one to get the venom sack if it's really this much of a problem. We could just as easily graft it onto some hapless dinosaur and reap the rewards.

Speaking of which, I'm pretty thrilled that Vee gave us a miniquest to get more dinosaurs, and that she anticipated our looting intentions.

Maybe we could just flesh-forge a living venom sac? just extract and preserve the organ, once we get a proper forge we can add basic vital systems and have it feed off nutrient fluid.

I was so happy when that annoying bitch was left to starve (well, dehydrate) to death in that empty vault. "It is known" is it!? Tell ya something else that's fucking known, (to the annoying bitch that kept quoting that to Daenerys): I'm never going to have hear you say "It is known" again.

*Ahem*. Yeah. Not a fan of that phrase. It promotes unthinking acceptance of status quo, and I hate hearing it.

I did it specifically because of your previous comment on the subject. :V

Imagine this:
Dinosaur, Tyrannosaurus – d20PFSRD
Armored in reinforced segmented steel fullplate, decked out in magic items, with a druid on top to control it (and maybe a bunch of rangers too, because why not use this thing as an oliphaunt?), and maybe if we're feeling whimsical with some nifty grafts like a breathweapon or something.
